I purchased a set of these over ten years ago and use them often. When we have guests, I simply bake as many as I need ahead of time. When dinner time rolls around, I place them on plates, set out dishes of ingredients, and let everyone fill theirs the way they want. Now I am buying sets as gifts for others because of the rave reviews I received. A wonderful gift for anyone. If you do not like tacos, try filling them with some of your other favorite ingredients. Lemon pie, chocolate, etc.

This is a great set of Tostada Salad Shell / Taco Salad Bowl Pans.

I used burritos size flour tortillas

I brushed both side lightly with oil and baked

They tasted Wonderful!

Used these for the first time last night. The bowls turned out even better than I had hoped.

Perfect size for burrito size tortillas with enough room to spare where you could use the super size wraps.

I used multi-grain flour tortillas and olive oil spray. I think "Taco Salad" night will replace Pizza night.

Honest reviews on Chicago Metallic Non-Stick Large Tortilla Shell Pans, Set of 2

I knew I would love these tortilla bowls the first time I saw them. I always skipped tostadas because of the shell being fried. These make the most tasty and delicious shells, and much better for your health because they are baked. Spray the pans with oil, then steam the tortilla in the microwave for a few seconds to make it soft. Lay in your pan and press it around the curves. Tear a couple really small holes in the bottom so it doesn't puff up like pie crust does (I don't use a fork because I don't want to scratch the non-stick coating). Then bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and fill with your favorite fillings. I am making the dessert one today! Before you bake the shell, brush with orange juice, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, bake, and fill with ice cream or yogurt, fruit, anything you like.

Highly recommended !!!

This is a great way to make a taco salad. They are great even cold. I had a party for 24 and made them ahead of time. They were still crisp and everyone loved making their salads from the taco bar that included two types of meats, two types of beans, two types of lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives, jalapenos, etc.

I have Atlas owned mills, both professionally and personally for some years. I have tried others but none of them are on the same level as the Atlas. It never breaks and is infinitely adjustable. They are worth every penny you pay for them.

Beautiful little pepper grinder. Never going to break an expensive plastic one again. Metal the material of your grandparents! Great as is, but for a courser grind it's pretty easy to modify to your liking.

"Modify a $50 pepper mill" you say? Sure, why not, it's metal. Here's how:

Get a punch (like a screwdriver or nail set) hammer, pliers, vice grips or best of all a bench vise, and a file.

Unscrew the two philips screws on the side of the mill's body. Drop out the grinding mechanism and the shaft (undo the bolt and remove the handle first).

Undo the adjusting screw at the bottom (don't lsoe the spring!) and use the screwdriver/punch and hammer to knock free the adjusting screw's cross bar. I did this on a work glove so as not to mar the grinder or my work bench and so it wouldn't slip away so easily.

Once this is knocked free clamp that cross bar in a vise or pliers or whatever and file a section of that cross bar down a millimeter or two. You want to file the wider part of the bar, the side that faces up to the sky when you put it back together. Make sure you don't file the ends that seat the bar in the mechanism, you only want to file an area slightly larger than the diameter of the grinding burr (about 20 or 21 milimeters, or ~10mm from the center of the adjusting screw's hole).

Once this is done, but it back together! The cross bar may fit loose when you tap it back in, but it's got nowhere to go once you put the mechanism back in the grinder body. If the very minor rattling bothers you, just put a dab of glue on it to keep it in place. The top cap rattle more anyway

Now that adjusting screw will actually have a purpose!

This process gives a coarser grind, and also lowers the handle towards the top cap so the top cap won't bounce around quite so much as another reviewer mentioned.

If you're a really ballsy pepper grinder modifying gal/guy you can even eliminate the gap between the handle and the top cap by unscrewing the grinding shaft (adjustable wrench on the handle flats) from the burr (wrap the burr with that leather glove and grip it with vice grips/vice/big pliers) and filing down the bottom of the shaft a couple of millimeters. If you go too far the handle will bottom out on the top cap and you'll be stuck with fine grind instead of the courser grind you've already worked so hard for. If this happens, just unscrew the shaft again and stick a pepper corn, or half a pepper corn, or a tiny rock or something small and hard in the bottom and tighten it back up again.

Voila! The perfect pepper mill! "Too much work," you say? Yeah, probably, but what else are you gonna do at your grandparents' house for a week with all those tools lying around? Either way, how can you go wrong with a pepper grinder that you can modify to your own tolerances. It's that solid.

high price but worth the money, i own 15 sets of salt and pepper mills from many different manufactures but the atlas pepper mill is the best, you can taste and smell the difference the way this mill cuts the peppercorns , the only complaint i have is that the lid does have some play in it but it doesnt affect the operation of the mill .

Nice to have a smaller size not only for a smaller family usage but refilling a bit more frequently I think we have fresher tasting pepper.

Warning: these bowls can't be put in the microwave and they can't be put in the dishwasher. The description does not mention this "minor" detail, but a small insert inside the box does. Who wants to hand-wash a mixing bowl? And who wants to move leftovers out of the storage container into something else in order to microwave it?

Maybe I should have assumed all of this because the bowls are partly made of steel, but so many items these days are microwave-safe even though they have metal in them. It never occurred to me that something made by Corelle could make my kitchen work MORE complicated.

Beyond that the bowls look fine, and they are supposedly scratch resistant, but they just "feel" like the color will start chipping off soon. And the lids aren't as tight as you might expect. They do fit, but I wouldn't want to tip one upside down.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The bowls make a nice set. They look nice, are very light, and stack nicely together. They are not dishwasher safe, which isn't mentioned in the write-up but I knew that from reading the reviews. I got this set to match my new set of Corelle Simple Lines plates and bowls.

The set arrived quickly, and the only thing worth mentioning is that three of the six bowls had tiny, round flaws in the white exterior (two inside the bowl, and one outside the bowl). Not a terribly big deal, but these were brand new, out-of-the-box and I don't think they should have been shipped. And since the spots are black, they stand out VERY clearly against the white bowl.

Unfortunately, the bowls got washed, stacked, and put away, and I forgot to return them quickly. At this point I'll probably just keep them. The bowls work fine and aren't too expensive, but the flaws are disappointing. So I'm not unhappy, but I'm definately not excited about the set.

Best Deals for Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines

I bought these bowls about 6 weeks ago and have used them less than that amount of time and I already have a spot on one of the bowls where the enamel has cracked and begun rusting. I'm extremely disappointed with this, as I am about the quality of the "Simple Lines" dinnerware collection which is what I bought the bowls to compliment. 10/12 I've had these bowls for about 6 months now and the lids have begun cracking as well. Total junk.

Honest reviews on Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines

These bowls are nice and match my sketch and simple lines plates. I bought them to put out the food for BBQ outside so ppl could serve themselves and them close the bowl but it didn't really worked how I thought. They're much smaller than I've imagined. But stil they are classy, look resistant and it doesn't look to me that they'll chip or anything.

It's a cool bowl to after serving on the table to go directly to the fridge. The ony bad party is that you can't microwave, but then it's always better to take out only the amount you're gonna eat.

I would not have purchased this product had I known it was metal and the rims tend to rust which they have within a month. Product is not diswasher safe for this reason. Cannot use in microwave. Just totally unhappy with this purchase which doesn't usually happen on Amazon.

I just tried my stovetop smoker and was amazed at the results. I've used a large outdoor smoker for years, and was skeptical about the stovetop smoker. I used it to prepare chicken breasts, and they cooked fast and were juicy and tender, and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. I'm looking forward to using my stovetop smoker for seafood and vegetables. It's a great way to add flavor to food, and a very healthy way to cook.

The smoker is constructed from heavy steel and is well made. I could smell the smoke as the food cooked, but it wasn't intense and there was no smoke in the house. I'll still use my outdoor smoker for batch cooking or for smoking large birds, but expect to get a lot of use out of the stovetop smoker.

I lived in a condo for years and really missed cooking outdoors and the tremendous flavor of food slow smoked in a smoker. I bought this awhile ago and have been pretty happy with it. It's stainless steel, durable and comes with samples of 4 different types of wood chips. You can buy more from Cameron international or Amazon.com. I use it all the time and never have any problems with smoke filling up the kitchen and the smoke detector never goes off. It's a closed unit so virtually all of the smoke stays inside. If there is a problem with smoke escaping, the instructions include tips on how to correct the problem. Usually, the lid just needs a little tweaking.

I think the first thing I smoked in it was salmon and let me tell you it was delicious! I have also smoked chicken, turkey wings, sweet potatoes, potatoes, shrimp, burgers, and cheese all with excellent results. I put the potatoes in the microwave for a few minutes to shorten the cooking time. The chicken doesn't brown as in a traditional outdoor smoker or grill but you can finish cooking it in the oven to brown it. If it's smoke flavor you are after, this is a very good alternative to outdoor smoking!

Cleaning the smoker is a breeze if you first spray the rack with cooking spray. Also if you line the base of the smoker and the drip pan with aluminum foil all you have to do is let it cool completely and dump the foil in the trash. This will help to keep your pans from getting black and shortens clean up time.

As a city dweller, this is the best available product for smoking food indoors. Smoking is a wonderful cooking methodology which imparts flavor into food through the type of wood used and the smoke it produces.

To use the product, simply place the wood chips inside the base of the smoker and put the food that you wish to smoke in the tray on top. Virtually any food can be smoked. The guide that comes with the smoker provides suggestions for cooking times and a series of recipes to try. Or simply try your own. Personally, I love cooking pork loin ribs low (250 degrees) and slow (4 1/2 hours) in the oven in the smoker.

The smoker is made of heavy-duty stainless steel and can be washed in the dishwasher.

Honest reviews on Stovetop Smoker - The Original Camerons Stainless Steel Smoker

I'm not kidding this smoker has been a revolution in our kitchen. The most important thing is to understand that it is like a Dutch ovenso while your food is smoking it's also roasting. Salmon comes out roasted, but with the most wonderful smoke flavor pork ribs are more juicy than if you grill them, and you have to work to dry anything out (we over cooked venison chops thin meat doesn't need much time!). Most foods cook in 25 minutes although a full size chicken will smoke/roast for an hour and a half.

We have a weekly dinner party and I've been running out of ideas this smoker has added an extensive list of options to the menu! I just ordered my second one as I'll need two for the quantity of foods I'm smoking. I use the smoker to make appetizers (smoked salmon pate, smoked wings, smoked sauces and veggies...) and I've used it to smoke all sorts of meats salmon, venison, chicken breasts, whole chickens, turkey breasts, pork ribs, baby back ribs... We spend our trips to the grocer looking for inspiration for our smoker!

The most surprising thing for me has been smoking vegetables. They come out moist, full of flavor and you would swear the rich smoke flavor should be adding calories! It's hard to believe something that tastes so rich could be healthy! Smoked asparagus, cauliflower, tomatoes, artichokes... fantastic!

I use a layer of foil over the top to add an extra seal for items to large for the space provided you just leave the lid off and make a foil tent (whole chickens and turkeys) it's very easy. We haven't had a smoky kitchen yet -

I've been sending these to my family for gifts if it's back ordered, trust me, it's worth the wait!

Have fun smoking!

This smoker works as advertised. With appropriate care and attention, you can easily smoke a wide variety of foods and ingredients. At the right temperature, the small leakage of smoke from the unit is not a problem.

However, recognize that this is a HOT smoker. If you are looking to smoke meats and other ingredients for long-term preservation, this is not the unit to use. Because of its small size, with the heat turned high enough to produce adequate smoke, you will easily reach temperatures of 250-300 degrees inside the pan, hot enough to roast many meats and birds. Fresh ham slices, for example, while infusing a wonderful flavor from the smoke, will cook to well done and beyond if you're not careful. Certainly far beyond where I would want to cook them for use in bean and soup dishes.

I have been using this set for a few weeks now, and am absolutely impressed. This inexpensive set is nicely formed and cleanly finished. Besides the environmental benefits of using fast-growing bamboo instead of harvesting hardwoods for simple utensils, bamboo is much more forgiving of soaking or an occasional trip through the dishwasher that will destroy wooden spoons. The bamboo paddles that I have been using for years have outlasted wooden spoons and plastic spatulas. They are gentle enough to use on non-stick surfaces but more heat resistant than plastic/teflon.

If you did get a set with a few rough spots, just rub them against each other to burnish away any odd spots. Like an old leather jacket, my older bamboo paddles have slowly gained a nice patina over years of use. The handles are smooth from hours of use, and one has scorch marks from sitting on the edge of a pan on a high flame. That level of use has ruined more expensive tools. What's not to love?

Best Deals for Lipper International 826 Set of 6 Bamboo Kitchen Tools, in Mesh Bag

These seemed like a good deal and came well shaped and sanded BUT with some kind of varnish/urethane/?? coating on them. It's way too hard a coating to just be oil and it's not shellac (which is food-safe) since alcohol doesn't remove it. Whatever it is, I don't want it in my food. It might be ok for a salad spoon or something but when cooking with these, some of this will definitely come off into the food. None of my other bamboo utensils have this and they've held up perfectly over years of use. Bottom line, I think a lot of people buy bamboo utensils to be green, natural and avoid plastics/chemicals so I don't know why they spray this 'whatever' on them. At the very least they can say they do that in the description and if it's something natural and safe, tell us what it is. Went to the 'Lipper International' website and it was similarly useless with actually LESS description there of their own product than the minimal details on Amazon. I would cost too much to return so it's a loss for me, but I'd advise others to pass on these unless they can figure out what that crap is and that you're ok with it in your food.

Honest reviews on Lipper International 826 Set of 6 Bamboo Kitchen Tools, in Mesh Bag

I don't understand why Lipper International or whom ever produces these would think it a good idea to laquer a natural alternative cooking utencil!? ...Really? They were nicely sanded and no splinters were present but that only matters if you plan to use them as decorations or anything else you can think of, except meal prep or cooking, of course...I guess my kids can use them to play with in the sand box.

Set arrived with rough-hewn edges and splinters that had to be pulled off. It's a cheap set, so I'll keep it. The Joyce Chen bamboo utensils were smoother and polished. Bamboo doesn't melt in the fry pan, so it's versatile and eco-friendly.

I received this pot and was impressed when I unpacked it. The stainless steel finish looks great, and the pot is very sturdy with a five ply heavy bottom. The workmanship, on the pot, is first class

The pot is described as being a "Steam Control" pot, and has a knob on the lid that can be turned to either seal the steam inside or vent the steam. But, in my first use of the pot I soon saw that the lid does not quite fit the pot, which allows steam to escape around the rim of the lid, negating the "closed-open" feature of the knob on the lid.

But, since I bought the pot mainly to have a large stock pot, I'll keep it because it is a heavy duty, quality stainless steel pot with a excellent thick bottom which maintains even heat.

The loose fitting lid is the reason for the three stars, and that loose lid really does negate the waterless feature.

Calphalon Nylon Utensils Pasta Fork Review

Calphalon Nylon Utensils Pasta Fork
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Over the years, I've used and abused numerous tools for stirring pasta as it boils, and for dipping it out once it's done everything from a slotted plastic spoon, to bacon tongs, and a three-tined wooden fork. I even had this thing that looked like a flat wooden spoon with about a dozen 1-inch dowel pegs mounted on the spoon end. Nothing seemed to work all that well and the odd dowel-pin thingie was a serious pain to clean. I finally decided there was just no great way to do that particular job.

But while "retooling" following a major kitchen remodel, I tried just one more pasta implement, and imagine my shock to find that it works beautifully! Mine is technically an earlier model of this Calphalon item, but I recently bought this one for a gift, and it seems very similar, with a slightly larger ladle end, and what feels like a stronger handle, which also has a longer non-slip grip area, all design improvements, if anything.

The "teeth" on this server work nicely to separate strands of pasta in the cooking water, and it's wonderfully easy to get a serving of pasta out you just dip the ladle into the kettle and lift up ... a reasonable amount of pasta, which actually stays put while you move it to a dish. And mine comes clean every time in the top rack of the dishwasher. What more could I ask? Unless they have the patience to enjoy fiddling with shifting just a few slithery noodles at a time, I would encourage any pasta lover to try this tool.

As an afterthought, I think we need a catchy, more descriptive name for this utensil. "Spladle" or "spa-ladle" (a contracted form of "spaghetti ladle") is the best I've come up with. Any other suggestions?

We eat a lot of pasta and this tool is ideal for serving it. It grips the pasta well and can handle a heavy amount without bending. The entire tool is sturdy and seems very well made. It looks nice hanging by the stove. I recommend it.

I purchased this Calphalon pasta fork, along with six other Calphalon nylon utensils of the same type, 18 months ago. For the first year I was really pleased with them. However, in the last several months, the grey silicon insert on the top of the handles of two of these utensils (the pasta fork and soup ladle) have separated from the rest of the handle. The inserts could be snapped back into place the first few times this happened, but now they will not stay properly inserted, which results in both utensils having too much flexibility (not to mention they no longer look nice). I fear the same will happen with the rest of my Calphalon utensils. Although the silicon insert is a nice idea, it is poorly executed, and I am now looking to replace my pasta fork with a one piece version.

Ahh, what a pleasure to use this pot. Easy to cook with, great for sauce reductions, works great for ethnic foods, easy to stir, easy to carry, great size on the stove top, easy to clean, feels much lighter than the traditional all hard anodized pots .....and so attractive.

If I were to own only one pot, this contempo. 5 qt. quart pot would be it! This is Calphalon at their best.

Hopefully they will come out with a 10-16 quart. version of this pot.

This is a very nice pot. However, please be informed that the handles on this pot do get hot, as does the lid handle. I have the Calphalon Contemporary 2.5 qt. shallow saucepan with the long handle, and I have not noticed this problem with the longer handle.

I have had this for some time, and it is a tank. The reviewer below was right when he said that if you only own one pot, make this it. Sauces, stews, chili, jambalaya, roux-based dishes. This can handle it. I've used it to boil pasta, in a pinch. It is also great in the oven. It is a champ at braising. At 200 degrees in the oven, sealed, it does the work of a crock-pot -maybe better, because the oven heat carmelizes the food. I am so glad I own one!

This pot replaces a virtually identical one that developed scratched Teflon on the inside bottom so my wife thought we should replace it. My wife initially resisted vociferously when, some years ago, I suggested we replace tinny cookware with quality Calphalon pots and pans. She complained that they were too heavy but has since fallen in love with them just because they are heavy and cook so well. She's a superb cook better than almost all restaurants of any price and she needs the proper tools to do the best job. We've never regretted buying the top of the line Calphalon cookware.

I bought this cherry pitter with the intention of having a "production line" cherry pitter. While it does make the job much easier, I still have to monitor to make sure each cherry is actually pitted each time and that the pit falls into the collection device. It's not 100% foolproof, and the cherries don't just fall into place in the pitter each time you depress the handle, but it does make the job much easier (and less messy). Overall, I'm glad I bought it.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I was unsure at first when I used the product, but once I developed a rhythm it went quickly and I was thrilled. I went through about 10 lbs of cherries in about 35 mins.

Best Deals for Leifheit 37200 Cherrymat Cherrystone Remover

I tried this out last night on some sour (pie) cherries. Because they are so small I had to feed them into the hopper one at a time, otherwise they'd crowd into the chamber three at a time. Even with this slow-down I found this faster and cleaner than pitting with a hand-held pitter. Only one cherry failed to pit, but a far more common problem was for the pit to tumble out of the chute still slightly attached to the cherry; this happened about 1 in 20 times. This is easy to see if you keep your eye on the cherries as they come out. I am pretty paranoid about missing a pit (I fear cracking my own, or worse, someone else's tooth) so I took it slow and watched each cherry.

I think this will work much better on sweet cherries.

Honest reviews on Leifheit 37200 Cherrymat Cherrystone Remover

The quality of this cherry stoner seems quite good, but although a hole appears in every cherry, it sometimes misses the pit. Consequently, when I first used it, many of my guests encountered some pits in their cherry cobbler. The next time I did it much more slowly and, although there were a few stones left, it was much better.

Although this is faster than a small single cherry stoner, you can't just quickly stone all of the cherries in the hopper or you'll end up with too many pits (at least with the large Costco cherries I was using).

Works great, if anything you may need to slow down in case you miss a pit. This is easy to clean and I have not had any problems. I pitted roughly 75 pounds of cherries, well worth the money spent.

I was looking for the same quality pan , but smaller and deeper, to replace one I have been using for years. Unfortunately QVC no longer carries it and I cannot find one like it on AMAZON.

I will give it to my son who will appreciate the size of it.

This roaster is large and it gets the job done. I made 6 Cornish game hens at one time in this Cuisinart Roaster. They cooked up perfectly, in a sticky marinade, and nothing stuck to the bottom of the roaster. Made dinner and clean-up breeze!
