This pan is too light. The bottom buckles and twists. I used this to slow-cook a roast the first time and sprayed it with cooking spray first. I cooked the roast at 325 without using the rack. The roast was fine. The pan was not. I thought I would never get it clean (in fact I never really did). Grease and frond stuck to the pan like glue. Back to using foil for me.

very cheap material, very thin and poorly built, changed color after one use. I had a cheap pan I bought at Walmart years ago that I recycled before this came in the mail but I should have kept the old one instead.

The pan itself was well made and of good quality in relation to the price. However, thewire rack inside is flimsy and lightweight. The legs on the wire rack are too short and do not hold the meat high enough off the bottom. The wire rack tends buckle a bit it you are cooking a heavier piece of meat. This causes the meat to cook in its own fat as opposed to having the fat drain off.

I bought a demeyere proline/atlantis 11" frying pan, and burned some sauce in it while trying to deglaze. The pan was covered in burned-on oil and carbon residue -not really hindering the performance, but no longer beautifully stainless steel.

I have a company-provided housekeeper, but she is more familiar with cleaning $3 non-stick than $200 frying pans, and I was afraid she might damage it, so I hid the pan and ordered some Demeyere cleaner to my APO ("hey man, what did you get in the mail from home?" "special belgian softscrub to clean my pans" "I got beef jerky and wetnaps"). 8 days later, in the mail, I received the best cleaner ever. It took a little bit of force to wipe away the worst oil residue, using a green scotchbrite and a sponge, but overall it was actually not that difficult. The end result is a perfectly new-looking pan with no scratches.

I also used some of the cleaner on copper, and it worked fine, although it might not be ideal for a heavily tarnished pan.

The real test was enameled cast iron (from IKEA) -I totally burned something on it, so there was a thick layer of black carbon. I used Bar Keeper's Friend first, plus soaking, but in the end, the Demeyere cleaner actually worked with the BKF to remove the last of the carbon.

At $10/bottle, it's a bit pricey compared to $2-3 alternatives, but seems to work much better, and doesn't damage expensive cookware. It is the only cleaner (other than soap and water) I'd use on the Demeyere, and probably my first choice for any "difficult" cookware cleaning problem.

As promised, this cleans up my Demeyere as well as all other cookware quite effectively. The Demeyere cookware though needs much less cleaning so I use this on all clad mostly. I also use it to clean stainless appliances both small and built-in. Works better than all other cleaners I've tried.

I've had these for 2 months and they are great. When I bought them 2 months ago, they were $40 (now $20 at time of writing), and are well worth that price. They are NOT flimsy or at all bad craftsmanship like I was afraid a cheap set would be.

The only 2 downsides that they have are:

(1) The biggest pot and the frying pan share the same lid (you only get one). Which is not actually a big deal. I only ever use one at a time anyway and I rarely use the big pot, so... :-)

(2) The screw that secures the handle to the pot (on all containers with 1 long handle, as opposed to the 2 side paddle handles), the screw is recessed within a small cave. As such, when you wash them in the dishwasher (upside down), water pools there and causes minor rust to the screws. Minor. I'm no cook, so maybe that's normal, but I would have liked a drainage hole, which I suppose you could do yourself with a small drill bit.

All in all? If these broke after only 1 year (which I highly doubt they would, they're pretty solid), but if they did, I'd buy a second set. From one bachelor to another, they're great. In fact, they'd probably even be high enough quality for a woman. Gasp!

I really like this sauce pan and I use it a couple of times a week. It is great to have a non-stick pan when I'm cooking grits or oatmeal for breakfast. My one and only complaint is that the ceramic coating is a bit too thin. If you baby this sauce pan it might last a lot longer but that's not how it works in our house. If you put this in the sink and someone comes along and drops in a spoon or puts another smaller pan in it or something bumps up against it on accident then it will leave a scratch or a dent or there will be a hole in the coating. If on the other hand you wash and dry this immediately after each use then it should last a long time. The cost is reasonable so buying one of these every year might make sense to some folks. When mine gets real worn I'll get another one.

I started learning about sausage stuffing in order to make a good andouille for jambalaya, gumbo, etc. Most decent equipment out there will run anywhere from $-$ for a decent stuffer. Double that total and you can get a grinder as well. If you're going to make consistently large batches (25 lbs or more at a time) then you're probably going to want to invest in those.

However, if you're just learning and starting out and already have a KitchenAid and the associated grinder, then the stuffing attachment for less than $10 is a no-brainer. I've used it a couple of times now and I can say that it makes high-quality sausage without a problem.

I have noted a couple of negative reviews for this product. Not knowing the specifics of how those people used the product, I can note some things I learned on my own, and from a site. That is an excellent site about andouille and sausage stuffing in general (especially with a KitchenAid).

1. When grinding, make sure the blade is in. I forgot to do this on my first batch and it turned the meat into paste and was impossible to get the grinder to work properly (which is why they include it).

2. Make sure you keep the meat very cold. I haven't had to cool the attachments, although that might help, especially when the meat isn't the coldest.

3. Use the coarse grind plate for sausage. You can the fine grind plate (for hot dogs for example), but I would recommend just using the coarse plate and running the meat through multiple times for a finer grind on your sausage. The grinder can get some tissue wrapped around the feeder and it could require some disassembly and cleaning (might take 3-5 minutes), especially with the fine grind plate. After the first grind, the mixture moves through the grinder pretty quickly anyway.

4. Make sure the screw cap is tight. Meat can escape through the cap if you're not careful. It shouldn't in most cases though. If it is, this is a sign something else is probably wrong.

5. I bought the KitchenAid FT Food Tray Attachment for Stand Mixers as well. It's fairly handy for larger batches and I recommend it, but it's not necessary. I ground 15 lbs the other night and it was helpful in holding the larger amounts.

6. You'll see this other places, but I'll reiterate that natural casings are worth the extra (minimal) effort. There's not much to it once you've used them. Collagen is ok and are less likely to break, but natural aren't as fragile as you might think and they look and taste way better. I was a little leery of natural and bought collagen initially, but haven't used them since my first batch. I don't think I'll go back if I don't have to.

I've stuffed andouille and Italian sausage both with the larger of the two stuffer attachments. If I make some breakfast sausage, I imagine the smaller one will come in handy. If you're like me and you've gotten to this point, next on your list will probably be a smoker. I haven't taken that plunge yet, but it's coming soon.

Once you realize how it properly is assembled for stuffing, you realize how great a product it is. TAKE OUT THE BLADE AND GRINDING PLATE. If you don't remove these, it will seem impossible to stuff a full length casing. It took me an hour doing this. I dissembled, and removed the blade and plate, replacing it with the plastic spinner in the box, and once I did that, the auger did its job and started pulling the meat through, instead of the vicious plunger stuffing that was needed before.

Once this was done, I stuffed 10lbs in about 30 minutes (50 links). My recipe:

10 lbs pork shoulder

2 lbs bacon (unsliced)

2 lbs ultra-sharp cheddar (shredded)

2 tbs ground fennel

2 tbs ground corriander

2 tbs ginger

1 tbs ground mustard

1 tbs chili powder

2 tbs red flake pepper

1/4 cup water

sprinkling of salt

Use natural hog casings and your all set.

Sausage making is an artform. It can be difficult to get the hang of, but with the right info you can make wonderful, fresh sausage and feel good about the ingredients inside. This sausage attachment works pretty well. The hopper is a little small, but unless you are making a ton at a time, it's not a deal breaker. It's important to keep the meat really cold throughout the process though or the fat will melt and could hurt your mixer engine. I picked up The Mixer Bible which has about 35 sausage recipes along with 300 other recipes for the mixer and it's other attachments. I really like the book and it walks you through the ins and outs of working with all the attachments.

I purchased this kit along with the food grinder attachment so that I could make sausage without spending a ton on a separate stuffer. I'm now going to buy a separate stuffer. The kit worked, after a fashion, however...

Being a conversion kit to the grinder, it naturally is elevated about a foot or so above the counter. The means that you cannot allow the stuffed casings rest on the counter as you stuff. The weight pulls the casing off the horn.

Also, trying to feed the ground meat through the machine was messy and difficult. You had to feed meat in, add more meat periodically, control the feeding of the casing, hold the sausage as it filled and, since you're doing all this stuff at once, start and stop the machine periodically. It's nearing impossible and very frustrating for one person to do alone.

Also, depending on the consistency, much of the meat came back up the feeder neck as I pulled the plastic plunger out. This means re-feeding the meat 3 or 4 times before it actually gets through the machine. A /very/ slow process.

If you have a Kitchenaid mixer with the food grinder attachment, this sausage maker attachment is a neccesity! It is very easy to attach to the grinder. Get some casings from your supermarket butcher department, slip them onto the sausage tube, put the meat mixture in the grinder and turn it on. Sausage comes out of the tube with ease. It never sticks. Just slide the casings off as the meat extrudes. Twist the casing to size the sausages. There is nothing easier. Beats a hand grinder sausage extruder. Get this!

I make a lot of single servings of oatmeal due to the caffeine addiction of the other people in my house. I looked for a good pot for single servings. My existing All-Clad 1 liter pots are too big (diameter).

First I bought the All Clad 1/2 Quart Butter Warmer All-Clad Stainless Butter Warmer with Pour Spouts, which is just a mini version of a normal All Clad saucepan. I like the All Clad, but it's too small in case I want to throw someting else in like a banana.

Then I bought the 3 cup Le Creuset pan. It's the perfect size. The bottom is heavy and looks to be three ply, although the sides are thin. That plus the size are the real difference between the All Clad and Le Creuset. The bottom and sides on the All Clad are three ply (although it's twice the price).

Even though they call this a Measuring Pan, it works very well as a standard saucepan (but in miniature).

It is difficult to find small pans for my induction cooktop and was pleased to see these I ordered both the 2 cup and 3 cup. They are good quality pans, fairly heavy with a rounded-over lip, and I like the measurement markings on the inside of the pan both cups and ml. The problem is that they don't work on my induction cooktop. They're nice pans so I'm giving them to my kids instead of returning them.

I was very excited about these cutting boards when I bought them. They were quite thin when they arrived but that didn't really bother me until...I put them in the dishwasher after using them ONCE (the description says 'dishwasher-safe' however no actual instructions were included in the pkg) for the first time and when I took them out they were all sort of 'warped' and now they don't lay flat AT ALL. I was very bummed and thought maybe all the flexible board were liked this, however...

The next day I was at a major discount retailer and saw a much thicker, sturdier pack of FOUR cutting boards for $5.xx! I bought them that day and haven't used the other cutting boards since! They are SO much better! So, I recommend you buy the 4-pk of flexible boards I mentioned at your local retailer NOT these poor quality ones.

UPDATE! Ok, so I had these cutting boards stored in a cabinet next to the other thicker cutting boards I mentioned I bought. I had a heavy stone cookie pan laying flat against all of them...and good news!...the Norpro boards I bought on amazon flattened out and look good again! So, maybe it just takes a little more effort to flatten them after each dishwashing.

After using them the first time they retain knife marks as permenant bends in the plastic, durability rating of .5 stars. They also do not retain their original flat shape in a reasonable manner.

A couple years ago I bought from Amazon a set of flexible cutting mats like this, but they were larger (~11x14, methinks) and had a slightly gummy print on the back that helped it stay put on your countertop while you cut. These mats, unfortunately, are both smaller and have no such gummy print -so they slide around on the counter as you cut. Very, very annoying. I bit the $6 on these but would recommend that you NOT: rather, look elsewhere (outside Amazon, even?? *gasp*) for the larger and non-slip kind!

I like this set, it is exactly what I was looking for. I haven't used the broiler/rack yet, so I cannot comment on that piece, but the muffin tin and baking pan are great. A previous reviewer mentioned that the plastic lid didn't fit on the muffin tin, but mine does fit (perhaps they changed the design since then?). You definitely need to measure your oven and verify the dimensions of these pans. (To the reviewer who said it didn't fit your oven, obviously it's not fair to give a bad review for the product's size if you didn't measure your oven, now is it?)

I would have liked to contact the seller first, but I couldn't find their contact info. The pans perform QUITE well. The nonstick surface is excellent. With these pans I use minimal oil or non at all. I enjoyed the steam basket to make my tamales. The only issue I have is the handle on the saute pan (med and large) keeps coming loose. My husband tightened them and next time I cooked the handle is loose again (this has happened repeatedly). The large pan with a loose handle and filled with food is definitely a hazard so I've stop using it. For the cost of this set I certainly didn't expect to have that issue. I do believe the pans I have may be defective. Hopefully the company will contact me (will post again).

This is a MUST HAVE for any cook. I like utensils from one piece of material: nylon or wood. That way food doesn't hide in the cracks in the handle. This is so much better to clean! I used it on hamburgers, sausage patties, dicing up ground meat in the skillet. It is truly like another set of fingers. I love the size and thinness. The angle helps you slip under something to flip it or move it around with no problem. Great product!
