CorningWare Pyroceram was always ahead of its time. When it was introduced in 1958, it's possible no one at Corning, Inc. would have thought its radio-transparent nature would predict the home microwave oven. The only place you can't use it is on an induction cooktop without some sort of heat-producing interface.

Reintroduced in 2008 by World Kitchen, Inc., the new StoveTop collection was an immediate hit, but for a few, that blue cornflower decoration might seem a tad out of place in a shiny digital-era chrome and stainless kitchen. Just White solves that dilemma with the same ever-modern shape and no decoration at all. CorningWare collectors will recognize the 2-liter pan as one of the shapes that would have been called a skillet back when CorningWare was introduced, while the 3-liter was called a saucepan back then.

Now made in France with US-made Pyrex lids, this set and its Blue Cornflower partner are ready to make the same culinary journeys from stovetop to freezer to oven to broiler, with side trips to the microwave.

This looks like a great pan and would have been perfect for what I needed but, contrary to the product description, there is no "domed glass lid" for the 1 quart pan. The picture shows it without the lid, so I read the description carefully to be sure it came with one before ordering, but it just arrived without one (and not in a box: beware if you are ordering a gift!). This is one of the problems for the "ganged" descriptions that cover more than one item...I really wish they wouldn't do that, it causes a lot of frustration (and wasted resources!).

I bought this because I liked the griddle pan so much. The non-stick surface is way better than the outdated pans they replaced. The only reason I give this 4 instead of 5 stars is that the handle is disproportionately heavy for the pan. When empty, or less than half full, it has a tendency to tip. Kind of annoying, and something I would think the manufacturer ought to have discovered in their labs no?

My wife and I make homemade Italian country bread and the crust is thick and can be a trick to slice well. I got this knife as a gift and had my doubts that this could be so great. In my experience, any sereated knife cut bread pretty well. Boy, was I ever wrong. This knife slides through a loaf of bread, hot from the oven, like a hot knife through butter. Usually you have to let bread cool some before cutting or you get this crushed mass of food. With this knife I can cut it straight from the oven in 2 easy strokes and leave it looking like a slice of bread any professional could have done. My husband and I want to cut our own bread so we can use the knife ourselves! Who would have thought it could be so much fun? The heft is good and it's a decent size. I love it!

This was perfect for what I was looking for. I generally drink coffee out of a single serve kuerig but have started grinding my own coffee. This takes about 2 minutes to grind one cups worth of beans and that is all the storage tray will hold. I love the smell while as it grinds and my kids doing and seeing the results. this is a great manual grinder looks nice sitting on my counter and is adjustable from fine to very course grinds my only complaint is that there is a gap between the metal cup and the wood and you have to shake the beans in to the grinder once in a while their are better grinders out there but only at 3x the price

update: the handle metal wears out very quickly and needs repair get bent and you need to be careful still a great product for the low price. but if you plan on using this everyday I would invest in a higher quality grinder

I guess you get what you pay for. I have used this coffee grinder for about a month and it has done the job reasonably well on a daily basis. However the metal is very cheap and basically fatigues over time. I have found that the pressure needed to grind coffee is fairly high and the metals used in this design are soft and not up to the job.

After about a month, the handle gave at the connection to the burr shaft. The handle now rotates freely. An no, the burr was not too tight. It's poor quality materials.

Basically, save your money and invest in something that will last. If you're looking for an ornament, this will look good but that's all.

I just love cake moulds. There is something about them that brings back memories of my grandmother's cakes and tarts. You know, the sort of cakes they made long ago during the Victorian era. Anyone can bake a cake from scratch with a little baking skill. But a moulded pound cake looks so professional. This particular cake mould is perfect for toping with glazed fruit or just your favourite jam. Nordic Ware is the leading manufacturer of these cake moulds and has produced a variety of them in dazzling shapes and designs. I think that the best compliment that I have ever received was from a friend, who upon first seeing my finished cake on the table, remarked: "Will you look at this?! This is unbelievable. These are only necessary if you have large pots, ie; more than eight quarts. They allow the pot to hang sideways and thereby allow more use of the space on a pot rack. Sideways means that you either look into the pot or see its bottom. You do not need these for skillets. In fact, if you use these for skillets you greatly reduce the amount of space gained by buying a pot rack in the first place.

I purchased the 4-quart saute pan a few months ago, and I have used it at least 3 times a week since then. I agree with the other reviewers that the taller sides are a big advantage over the 3-quart pan. This allows you to toss your cooked pasta into the sauce, poach meats and do various other tasks without worrying about the liquid spilling over, which is what concerned me about the 3-quart pan. I found that the 6-quart pan was far too large for my burners. I have cooked pasta sauces, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, meatballs, poached chicken, you name it, in this pan. It is extremely versatile and worth the price and the amount of space it takes up in the cabinet. If you have limited kitchen cabinet space, as I do, I think that this saute pan, a large non-stick skillet (All-Clad has a great one in its stainless collection), the 3or 4-quart sauce pan and a large Le Creuset french oven is all you need for most stovetop cooking jobs.

I am a big fan of All-Clad (have several of their pans) and bought this pan for my father, who's becoming quite an adventurous cook since his retirement. We tried it out right after Christmas making a tomato sauce for homemade pizza, sauteing the onions and garlic to a sweet golden brown before adding the crushed tomatoes with puree. My father was particularly impressed with the fact that the pan distributed the heat so evenly that nothing burned or stuck despite being left unattended at times. The size is perfect for sauteing lots of things simultaneously or providing lots of surface area for a quick reduction. And the lid fits nice and snug--it could definitely be used as a braising pan, particularly in the oven. It's now his favorite pan and I'm sure he'll make lots of great meals with it!

My pasta sauce and a lot of frying start here. This pan is very deep. It fits two hallibut steaks perfectly with room for building a sauce. I think my sides are 3 1/4" high. It came with tongs and a splatter screen which come in handy.

I have always used bargain pans from discount stores and wondered why they didn't cook evenly! After reading reviews for All Clad, I decided to invest in pans that would last a lifetime. Wow, what a difference. Everything cooks so evenly and browns perfectly without burning. I took everyone's advice and heated the pan first, added olive oil, and started cooking. To clean, I add a little water while the pan is still hot and it bubbles off the stuck on bits, making it a whiz to clean. Will never cook on anything else!

I ordered the slice orange and it is definitely orange. I like the size and found it kept my coffee warm a good while. That is about all I liked about it. First, it is very hard to see the lid choices for "lock", "sip" and "tip and cool". They also do not line up correctly and when I want to just "sip" almost nothing comes out. The "tip and cool" feature is a joke. I promptly got burned the first time I tried it and the coffee had been in the mug for about 20 minutes. (Obviously it keeps it hot!) Also, you cannot take off the lid and just drink from the mug part due to the design. It is also very hard to wash. It has a very narrow opening. The first time I carried this to work I had it in the "lock" position and coffee still spilled. Come to think of it, I only took it one time and will most likely never use again. Perhaps I should just return it.

I really like this travel mug. On Amazon it says 100% leak-proof, on the packaging the travel mug comes in it says "not leak-proof". I found that if you don't over fill the mug and you close/lock it properly, it doesn't leak. My coffee stayed hot for a quite a while and the PTZ was a neat feature. The only problem I have with the mug is that it just doesn't hold enough coffee. It says it holds 16 oz but my old mug held 16 oz and this one is about 4 oz short.

We have tried many travel mugs over the years but these new Brugo mugs are by far the best. Coffee seems to stay hot for ages but with the great tip and sip technology you can drink it whenever you need. Also loving the leakproof lid. As long as you take the final sip from the cooling chamber (we learnt the hard way) it is completely leakproof no more coffee everywhere in the van or car. Can even leave hot drinks on the table outside with the kids running round without the usual spiilage and close burns. Perfect. We are using our matching pair more and more. I am a heavy coffee drinker, and love gadgets, so was excited when I got this as a Christmas gift. Despite some initial problems, I have used it as my daily commute mug for about 3 weeks now. My rating is 2 stars, and I'd value the mug around $5.

Good features:

1. Very drip-proof -but not 100% as claimed. There are 2 tiny vent holes on the top of the lid, so it will drip if you shake it around vigorously. But under normal use I really don't do that, so I think it's fairly called drip-proof. This is particularly important given the way you have to tip it for the tip-n-cool feature. So when the top is in the CLOSED position, it gets top marks for being truly closed!

2. Because I feel bad saying there's only one good feature, I'll give it a pro for having a nice comfortable shape, and for sitting in my car's drink holder nicely -it's not so top-heavy as to tip over easily...it can't survive sharp corners, but can survive lane changes at 45mph.

Failures:

1. Tip-n-cool feature gets a C-. Yes it works, but I had many many problems getting even a reasonable drink into the reservoir. I would tip it a little, a lot, and ultimately I had to play around with the angle and direction of the tip to get anything into the cooling chamber. That said, it DOES help cool that bit of the drink. But you really have to experience it as a driver, or worse as a person walking any distance to work: in between every drink you're flipping the mug away from you, finding that angle to get anything in the reservoir. You can't tell if you succeeded until you try to take a drink, so very often I try to take a sip, get nothing tip again, repeat. In the driving context, that also means you're holding the mug a LOT longer than if you just got a complete sip in one try.

2. The lid dial is incredibly difficult to turn. I'm sure it helps keep things sealed up, but I have to have a firm grip on the mug with one hand, and use my other hand to turn it. The problem, as a commuter, is that this means I can't change its setting with one hand -so for my drive to work I can only change it at stop lights, and it's open the whole time I want to be able to drink. With other mugs, I made it a habit to close the lid with my thumb as I'm putting the mug back in the drink holder -I try to minimize the amount of time I'm holding the mug, and don't want it sloshing around in the drink holder. That's just not possible with this mug.

3. The gasket in the lid popped out, and now won't settle back in firmly any more and can be a real pain to get back in place. I don't think it's got any flange on it to "lock" it in place, so if it slips out of its channel, it's like settling a rubber band back in place -get it perfect and it's fine for a while, but it can be infuriating to get it back there sometimes (especially if it's wet).

4. Temperature -really, it's mediocre in this category. In a 35 minute car ride in the winter, my coffee goes from piping hot to slightly cool by the time I reach my desk. I have a Thermos mug that is insane in this area -it'll keep coffee scalding hot for 4+ hours with lid closed...I can't drink my coffee at all in the car if I use that mug because it just stays too hot.

5. Yes, the lip is very very drip prone. I'm not sure it's a big deal, but it's definitely annoying in a $25 mug.

6. One oddball thing -the "stainless steel" finish on the lid is a metal skin. On the inner edge, the metal has a very slight flare INWARD. Not a huge problem but when I turn the dial, I constantly rake either my index finger nail or thumbnail along it and get little scores in my nails...it hasn't ever caught skin, but it's a really aggravating sensation. Amazing lack of consideration for that bit of the finish.

7. And the most infuriating problem of all: there is a small square-block tab on the outer edge of the lid, and a matching one on the mug, so that when you screw the lid down, those two block meet and the lid is perfectly locked down. Nice. However, it's RIGHT UNDER THE MOUTH. Look at this closeup from Brugo's site and you can see it: What's infuriating is that every time I take a drink, that little block of plastic digs right into my bottom lip. And when I'm putting the lid on I have to twist it two full rotations to seal it. If my thumb is by the tab, that means that little block of plastic rakes the pad of my thumb; or if the heel of my palm is there, that gets raked -not a pleasant sensation. That one little bit of plastic must have seemed like a brilliant idea to someone, but then the moron forgot to (a) make it "safer," and (b) move it out of the way of the drinker's mouth!

So the little tab, and the inability to set it with one hand are the big fatal flaws for the mug as my commuter mug. The weak performance of the tip-n-cool feature dooms it the rest of the way since that's the main reason anyone would be willing to spend significant money on this mug. In the end it's a decent $5 plastic mug.

Next I'll begin hacking it to see if I can make it better :-D

Once you find your joists, it's a breeze to install. I couldn't find mine, so thinking like a builder, I figured the joist was in the middle of the kitchen. I drilled a pilot hole & struck the joist 1st time. Then you just drill a larger hole, & screw in the hooks--use a hammer handle or crow bar to turn the hooks into position.

I also have a cathedral ceiling that required 2 additional long bars that Home Depot mail order sent me. I was then able to level the unit off.

Not having any copper pots or pans, I used my hard anodized cookware as an alternative--all totaled, I have 9 pots & pans & 2 colanders hanging, with 2 lids on the top. Looks great!

This just arrived yesterday and we love it! My husband got it installed in less than a half hour and it is holding pots like a champ. We noticed that the picture above shows it hanging from one hook in the ceiling, but the instructions tell you to only to do 2 or 4 hooks. Well, due to where our studs were, we hung it with one hook and all chains going to it (per the picture) and it is fine. The only minor issue may be that it could hang un-level if I remove a pan and don't put it back in the same spot (which would be alleviated with the 2 or 4-hook setups). But, ya gotta do what the studs let ya do, right?

It looks fantastic and works like its supposed to. 5-stars overall. I'm just annoyed that I paid $108 and now its down to $85! That sucks!

EDIT: I emailed Wayfair and they got back to me right away and gave me a refund of $23 to bring my final price down to the lowest amount mentioned above. Fabulous customer service!!

Do not waste your money on this. No matter what I do it sticks and will not come out. Back to doing it the old way. Put down some wax paper on the bottom add the meat and another layer of wax paper. Push down or use a rolling pin to flatten to desired width then use a large empty veggie can to cut out the patties.

This product is well made but poorly designed. It only took a couple of burger presses to realize that the meat sticks to the top of the press and you have to scrape it out. We ended up putting a piece of wax paper in the top before pressing and then just returning it to the drawer where it has not been used since.

Not recommended. Either do it the old fashioned way or get one that has a plunger to push the burger out after pressing.

Not an absolute item to have, but it sure makes a nice round burger. The two sided choice for 1/4 or 1/2 lb. burgers is a nice innovation. You can make close to 1/3 lb. burgers on the 1/2 lb. side to. I have had no sticking problems with this item, gently pry on one side and patty drops right out. Also, the lid dimples the burger, so you get a nice flat burger thats not all puffed up in the middle once cooked. Press cleans up easy in warm soapy water. For those that complained of burger falling apart, try rolling meat into a tight ball then place on press. A little olive oil brushed on burger or grill will help eliminate tearing or crumbling of patty

I just cut a piece of waxed paper for top and bottom, then dropped the ball of burger onto the base and pressed them down until I had all 5 quarter-pound burgers on the plate. The dimple is perfect and the burgers don't shrink up much when grilled. Washes up in a jiffy. Kinda pricey for just 2 pieces of plastic.

Got this in red as a gift for myself :) , and I use it on my glasstop. I absolutely LOVE it. The silicone handles are great too!!Heat distributes evenly, and cleaning is easy!!
