Perfect size and weight for a 12" skillet. Keeps the bacon, chops flat for even frying while preventing any splatters. High quality materials. You won't cook bacon again without this indespensible utensil. Easy 5 stars for this great product.

W. Hooper's review is right on! Bacon cooks faster, flatter, and with much less spatter. This truly is the perfect size for a 12 inch pan ... wouldn't want a different size/shape! Clean up is a sanp. Proper care (seasoning before first use, and oiling) is required, but it's easy enough to do. Also great for grilled cheese/panini sandwiches.

Well made. Useful size and weight, although it could be just a little larger in diameter. This thing gets really hot and holds that heat for awhile, as you would expect with cast iron. However, it would have been nice if designers had provided some insulating material around the top of the metal supports for the wood handle. Really need a glove when using this to avoid coming in contact with the very hot metal handle supports.

Honest reviews on Norpro Cast Iron Round Bacon Grill Press

It's round, it's firm, and it's fully packed! Consequently it was delivered in fine condition. You can tell it's a bacon press because it has a raised relief pig on it. Without the pig it would just be a press. And we all know that the press is biased these days. Whereas a bacon press should be unbiased. And this one is nicely flat, with ridges on the bottom to promote appropriate grease expulsion during the cooking process.

I had carefully selected this item based on extensive measurements of my main bacon frying implement, "Old Reliable". Old Rel is a 10 inch cast iron frying pan of uncertain provenance. Amazon.com carried three bacon presses, but this one would make a perfect partner to Old Rel, based on the principle of similar diameters.

I seasoned the bacon press according to directions. I must say that the seasoning directions did not work. After following them twice, the bacon press still had a raw cast iron smell to it. The directions appear to be a compromised attempt to season the bacon press without having to burn the handle in a hot oven, or take the handle off. I may need to remove the handle and submit the rest to the fiery depths of my oven for an extended time -suitably anointed for the ordeal (the bacon press, not me). Meanwhile I shall endeavor to persevere, and hope that over time the succulent bits of bacon fat will provide the perfect seasoning through normal use.

I lay the cold strips of bacon into the cold frying pan. I turn the heat on. I lay the bacon press gently over the bacon. I wait. Soon, the sizzling sound begets an odor, and the odor a salacious longing for my favorite breakfast treat. After several minutes of cooking (and longing), I lift the bacon press. Lo! There be flat cooked bacon! As if by magic it transfers to a plate already draped with paper towel for drainage. The bacon cools and dries for 60 seconds. I admire the bacon's flatness, its planarity, evenness, flushness with the plate. The bacon is flat as a pancake, flat as a fluke, flat as a flounder, flat as a board, flat as my hand! But my rapture ends as I cannot stand it anymore. I devour the bacon! And it was good. (No cast iron taste.)

Stay tuned for further adventures in pressed sandwich land!

I've had mine about 8 months...works great.

Made of cast iron with wood dowel handle.

8 5/8 inch diameter

Handle attached with 2 screws

I took the handle off and seasoned mine in the oven a few times using bacon grease.

Only gripe is the handle.

It should be more securely attached.

If you don't grab the handle in the middle you can hurt yourself.

I'd buy it again.

I am not one to usually post reviews of anything, yet I felt the need to let everyone know how incredible this set of pots and pans really is. My wife and I are avid, amateur chefs. We love to cook and are always in the kitchen concocting something. When we received the set, we were immediately amazed at the high quality and beauty of the pots and pans. They are all really well crafted. The nonstick coating is remarkable and the comfort in the handles makes transferring dishes from pot to plate easy and safe. In my time, I have spilled one too many dishes because the handles were either cheap or slippery. Not so here!

One of my favorite aspects of the cookware set is the depth of the pans. I am so used to other skillets with shallow bottoms that help to create havoc on your stove top. With the pans in this set, whatever you are cooking stays exactly where it needs to go, in the pan and then onto your plate! I am not the cleanest of cooks and having a deeper pan with sides that keep the food cooking has been really great for me.

Overall I am so happy with the set. The quality and beauty of the product, coupled with the ease that it puts into our cooking makes this the perfect set for absolutely anyone. When you add in that these pots and pans have the size that you need for whatever you are cooking while at a great price, it is completely evident that this is a deal not to be passed up!!!

[Update]

After a year and a half of use, I am ready to finalize my review below.

Everything I said below still stands.

With these additional inputs :

* The exposed handle metal near the pan does indeed get VERY hot. Hot enough to burn you if not careful.

* The lighter weight of the pans makes for 'hot spots' during cooking. This is most evident in the larger pans and pots. In addition, I am finding that the coating is also thinner on these pans. I still have my old set, and pans that are showing wear on the new set do not show any wear on the old set. I have been using the new set for a fraction of the time I used the old set.

* The non-nonstick riveted point in the pans has proven to be a major problem in the smaller pans. These smaller pans often have food that gets on to those rivets and 'cooks' onto their surface and into the joint area at the rivetpan interface. It is VERY difficult to effectively clean these areas with cloth and/or brush. It is so bad on the small skillet I purchased that I have gone back to using the one from my earlier set that is welded.

This will probably be my last Analon set.

The quality is just not there anymore.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sorry to rain on the 'We Love Analon' parade, but there are a number of design flaws in this offering that folks should be aware of. These flaws apply to pretty much all of the Advances Hard Anodized line, and may extend to other lines as well. I cannot comment on longevity, as if they are as good as my previous set, it will be a long time before I can say they are as good, durability wise. But, there are issues:

* Tall lid handles prevent lids from sitting flush when upside down in Deep Skillet pans. This includes the largest of the Deep Skillet pans as well. This makes stacking and storage very difficult. Previous lids had the single button type handle; since they fit the new line, I may just use those instead of the "New & Improved" model lids.

* The Open Skillet (French type Saute) pans now have curved and bowed sides. This makes using wood or hard nylon straight edge spatulas innefective as they cannot scrape cleanly going up/down OR side-to-side ! Plan on changing over to curved tools and/or flexible tools.

* The pan handles have a heat insulated covering that does NOT extend fully over the whole handle. There is an inch or so of bare metal at the tip of the handle and at the base of the handle. My experience is that the metal tip part does not get hot, but that the exposed metal at the base may get hot. This will depend on the length of time cooking and the temperature. Still, the insulator->metal transition is flush, so one has to be careful where one places the hand.

* These pans are somewhat lighter weight than my previous set. It is tough to determine exactly how much lighter, but it is noticable when you pick up and examine the same capacity pot. Such as the 2qt one.

* Worst for last. The attachment of the handles to the pots is very, very bad. Not that they are loose; it is the way they are attached. My previous set, the handle attachment points were either welded or cast outside as part of the pot. Then, the handle is attached to those points. The interior of the pan was clean and smooth. On these pans, there are holes drilled in the pans and bolts are passed through the pans to create the attachement points for the handle. Now, this may be fine for Stainless cookware, where pan and bolthead are the same material; no harm, no foul. BUT, on non-stick cookware, this is a disaster. You will spend 5x as long cleaning food out from around and off these boldheads than you will spend cleaning the pan proper!!! Food will stick to them. Food will get into the small crack where the bolthead meets the pan surface. And, these boltheads are NOT coated; they are raw stainless. To make matters worse, they prevent effective scraping down of the side of the pan near the boltheads.

I really don't know who thought these were good design choices. But, those folks should probably be encouraged to go work for the competition.

All the above not-withstanding, I would still purchase these pans. In fact, I expanded my set an addional two pieces AFTER getting and examining the set. Despite all the flaws, most of which can be worked around or 'lived with', my feeling is that Analon still makes some of the best non-stick cookware available.

I just wish that the folks that make decisions on changing a design would actually be USING the product in a real-world home kitchen setting. And not just taking the advice of 'experts' that may have no real-world knowledge or experience using the product in a normal home setting.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Analon non-stick cooking set features impressively well-made kitchenware for an affordable price.

I've been using this set for about a month now and would start by arguing this isn't a set for everyone. If you're a beginner cook, or a bachelor that rarely uses more than one pot or pan, then I'd still advise you to purchase a useable non-stick set in the $100 range. However, if you're looking to graduate from your first set of pots and pans to a "real" cookware set, I would highly suggest you consider this Analon collection.

The individual pots and pans from this set all have a great heft to them. These aren't items from the cheap $100 sets. The metal has a somewhat smooth finish on the outside, but an unfinished, yet highly polished underside. The inside bottoms all have a unique non-stick coating that has a very fine texture. The non-stick coatings have worked like a charm so far, with the only exception being that it took some time to wash the edges of a skillet after some sauce had reduced down to a sticky film. Not unusual. They claim that you can use metal utensils on these surfaces and they will maintain their durability. I only spot-tested this with a metal spoon on occasion and did not actually try to assault my set with a metal fork. From what I can tell, it seems like one can indeed use metal on the inner surfaces, but I wouldn't risk regular metal use it if you can avoid it.

The handles are outstanding. They all have a rubberized grip that is very comfortable to hold. In addition, each handle also has a loop at the end, which gives you the option to hang your pots and pans on a kitchen wall and is a welcome feature. Analon also claims that the set is safe in the oven up to 400 degrees. While I have not tested that extreme of temperature, I have cooked dinner in a skillet on the stove and then moved it into the oven at 225 to keep dinner warm until company arrived. There was no noticeable loss in durability.

There is a complete set here, that's for sure. The somewhat amazing thing is the depth of each piece. This is great for cooking large meals, especially ones that encompass a sauce or broth. While this is an advantage for almost everything, I did find the impressive depth on the small saucepan to occasionally be an annoyance when trying to use a whisk. I was unable to angle the whisk enough for my liking due to the tall saucepan walls. However, this was the only--very specific--complaint that I had.

If you are looking for a real cookware set, I would not hesitate to recommend this Analon collection. Sure, you pay more than the cheap $100 sets, but the quality here shows and at this normal Amazon price, it's an excellent value.

Honest reviews on Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

I bought my Analon Advanced set several years ago and enjoyed them when I first got them. I followed the instructions that came with them and never used sharp tools, the dishwasher, Pam spray, etc. I took very good care of them. However, after a few years, as non-stick usually goes, the finish started to deteriorate. No worries, I thought! There's a lifetime warranty. So I paid shipping to send two of my pans in for replacement. After 5 weeks my old pans were returned to me without the warranty being fulfilled. The box that was checked on the return form said that the warranty was invalid because I used "high heat". What?! Pans that you can't use heat on? What good would that do? Their warranty is horrible. So, if you buy them, don't expect Analon to stick by the warranty (no pun intended). You'll just have to buy a new set in a few years.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Good value for this 11 piece Anolon set (works out to good price per pan cost). I already own some Anolon pans before I got this set. Pans have very good build quality and my old ones have held up well over time. The pans in this set look nice and come with quality glass lids as well. The non-stick coating works well for me, better than some other "non-stick" I have tried in the past. Due to coating be sure to handwash (no dishwasher) and avoid high heat.

Overall I give this set 5 stars for price/value, happy cooking.

I decided to return to shiny aluminum baking pans when I discovered that dark, non-stick pans didn't turn out nicely browned baked goods. When it came to a new loaf pan, many of the shiny pans I considered had drawbacks: they were steel, which rusts; they had seams that were hard to clean; they were often flimsy and dented easily, and none was large enough to hold a full batch of batter. Not so with the Nordic Ware large loaf pan. This heavy-duty aluminum pan means business--the larger size is perfect for virtually every recipe, and the shiny surface produces great results and cleans up nicely. I've since added the muffin pan, rectangular baking pan, and quarter-size sheet cake pan to my collection of essential bakeware, and I remain impressed with Nordic Ware's outstanding quality and reasonable price.

These Nordic Ware loaf pans are the best I've ever seen. Throw all those miserable thin aluminum pans with the dark coating in the trash and order yourself some bakeware that will let your favorite recipes sing. I love the half and quarter sheet pans, too. The pans have a strong rolled edge that has a steel center to prevent the pan from warping at higher temperatures. I am also planning to ditch my newer Wilton cake pans in favor of the Nordic Ware round cake pans, as the quality of these pans is head and shoulders above anything the competition is offering. Your first pound cake or loaf of bread will convince you that the higher cost is worth every penny.

Best Deals for Nordic Ware Large 1-1/2 Pound Loaf Pan

I bake a lot of bread and have for more than 30 years. The Nordic pans are easily the best bread pans I have used. These are not lightweight aluminum. They are heavy enough that you will not worry about them getting banged up and dented. Cleanup is a breeze.

To visualize the size loaf: I make Potato Bread quite often and my bread is just a bit larger than Oroweat's Country Potato Bread.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Large 1-1/2 Pound Loaf Pan

This pan is great for baking bread. The bread cooks evenly and turns out perfect every time since I bought these pans. Easy to clean up as well.

Bought for non-stick Wok. But use it for everything. Durable, does not stain, (even with tomato sauce).

Perfect for woking. When I recieved mine, the corner of the spatula was cracking so I had to peel back the crack and rub it on the corner of the table to dull it. Nothing that bad, just upsetting to buy something already messed up. Oh well. Excellent overall spat.

Best Deals for Joyce Chen 33-2048 Burnished Bamboo Angled Spatula, 14-Inch

I have to agree with another reviewer. The head of the spatula is too narrow for true wok cooking. I like the fact it is bamboo. The angle of the head is fine. The head should be at least an inch wider. I now use it when I boil pasta or anything else that need the bottom of the pot to be scraped while cooking...like congee.

Honest reviews on Joyce Chen 33-2048 Burnished Bamboo Angled Spatula, 14-Inch

Arrived with a splinter of wood on the side but that has not affected the function. It works well just not as thin as a metal tool but it won't scratch off the seasoning of the wok.

A few years ago I had purchased a bamboo angled spatual at World Market and absolutely loved it. It was sturdy and had a wide scraper area and best of all, it was like 3 bucks. Due to the material of bamboo, they have a tendency to wear down after long use moreso than rubber or metal, and when I went to replace mine I was frustrated to find that not only did World Market no longer carry it, I couldn't find one anywhere in stores or online. I came upon this one and thought I had finally found it, however upon arrival I compared the two and this one is almost half smaller in the scoop, which works but not anywhere near as handy as the width of my old one when scooping around in a big wok of food. My old one was probaly over 4" scoop width and this one is maybe around 2.5-3". Anyone who does much wok cooking knows the value in having a wide scoop. It works-I just like my old one better.

I have this pan worked great for about 1.5 years but then began to "bubble" on the flat surface. Obviously this is a manufacturing issue & Scanpan claims to have a lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects. I sent it off to the factory & they refuse the claim due to lack of cleaning...

I work in a freaking research & development department for cookware. I know how to clean a fry pan. Their "claim" is a small area on the lip of the pan FAR AWAY from the main bubbling issue & an area I didn't scrub completely because once I noticed the bubbling, the pan is useless to me.

This is a complete joke & their warranty "policy" is apparently: unless if falls out of the manufacturer's box in 10 pieces all while catching it on camera with a factory representative on hand, we will not cover.

Roll the dice if you choose. This pan is so expensive, for them not to treat warranty claims with the respect they deserve is ridiculous.

I've owned several Scanpan products. This fry pan, an 8-inch fry pan and a sauce pan. All stick after being used for a while. After I had problems with the first one I talked to the store I bought it from and to Scanpan. They said to use lower heat and don't use cooking sprays. I followed those instructions with the next pan I bought and still had problems. I also tried the "restore" method mentioned in the manual using the steel wool that was included with the pan without any success.

When they were new they were great, but once they started sticking, they were worse than a regular pan without a non-stick coating. Plus the sellers won't back them up. I tried to return mine under their "Lifetime" warranty, none of the stores selling them would take them back without talking to the distributor first. The distributor never returned my phone calls. Also a major consumer testing magazine that originally gave these a high rating retracted that rating after getting bad feedback from owners. You can read back issues in your library.

Scanpan was good for a few years, then the finish went bad and the company claims it is a cleaning problem. They will not honor warranties. The kitchen store I bought it from has had issues and no longer carries this brand. Beware.

Reviewer: /Ken from Tracy, CA USA

I just got one. I tried cooking an egg with no oil in it on medium heat. It stuck a little, but I could clean it off with one wipe of a paper towel. I can't do this with any other pan I own. With just a slight amount of butter (a pat cut 1/16th inch thick), I repeated the test and was able to flip the egg with ease and there was NO stcking at all. It cleaned off with just dabbing a paper towel along the surface. The outside of the pan also has non stick sides, so if you get some slop on the sides on the outside of the pan, it wipes off as well. The heat distribution was superb as evidenced by the changing pattern from clear to white of the egg white and the uniformity of browning of the egg surface. I intend to use this pan for omlettes and crepes. It exceeds any other fry / saute pan I've used.

You can use metal utensils on this pan: amazing. The handle is suppossed to be good to 500 deg F. I finally found a non stick pan I can use!

I have Le Creuset, multiple stainless, plain cast iron and several (retired) non stick (including Corning and Analon). The eggs are cleaner than from cast iron. In the Le Cruset or stainless, a soaking is required for the same test.

(This review was for another Scanpan product but was combined by Amazon with the 10-1/4" fry pan.)

We got a large sauce pan, 1 small and 1 medium size fry pans.

I was very excited the first time we got our Scanpans. I read about the new technology surrounding this product that supposedly to be non-stick for many years. Now, we only have the big sauce pan left. We have to throw away the 2 frying pans.

To give it some credit, they lasted a couple of years before it started to peel off (actually not peeling off like a teflon. It starts to have some tiny holes on the surface which grows in size as you use it. Then finally when we see the metal base, we got worried that pieces of those non-stick surface gets to our food that we decided it's time to get rid of it). The non-stick properties starts to wear off before it lasted a year.

Pros:

-heavy and thick to distribute heat evenly

-Handles are oven resistant so you can actually use it to cook in the oven

-Well made, great construction. Durable.

Cons:

-Not as non-stick as teflon. And non-stick properties continue to deteriorates as you use it. Approximately a year.

-Not a good value. For the price, it should last much longer.

-Not for induction cooking.

Enamel on cast iron cookware like this, was, until recently, only available from makers like Le Creuset. Lately, several lower cost makers have come on the scene, like Target and Innova. The new budget priced Lodge cookware is in the same price range as the low cost alternatives but completely out performs them.

I have all of the brands I have mentioned. The Lodge is the same weight as the Le Creuset which is much heavier than the other budget models. The ridge where the lid and sides meet is a matt black porcelain on the Lodge and Le Creuset but is just exposed cast iron for the other budget models (which leads to rusting if you are not careful). The porcelain resists staining (even tomato sauces) in the Lodge and Le Creuset but the other budget models stain very easily. And finally, the Lodge and Le Creuset maintain a very polished interior finish that resists sticking which others do not. So, I see no performance differences at all between the Le Creuset and the Lodge whereas the comparably priced budget models are certainly inferior.

If you plan of using these pots very heavily (every day for example) you might want to upgrade to the higher priced Lodge product. It has 4 coatings of enamel as opposed to 2 in this model. But if you use them once or twice a week I dont think you will need the added wear resistance.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is a terrific value. The quality and performance match my Le Creuset pieces at a fraction of the price. The only slight design flaw I have found is that the rounded bottom makes browning large pieces of meat awkward. Other than that I have no complaints. Even heating. Easy clean up. I use it several times a week.

UPDATE: I found a second minor problem. The inside rim of the lid has a couple of raised spots which prevent the lid from seating tightly. This causes steam to escape much faster than I would like during a long braise or stew.

Update 2: Three years in I am dropping my rating to three stars. It's still a decent pot at a bargain price, but it will not be an heirloom piece like my Le Creuset. The loose fitting lid turns out to be a manufacturing shortcut. The lids and pot rims on the Le Creuset are machined flat so the lid fits tightly. The lid on this (and other inexpensive enameled cast iron pieces I have looked at) is cast with three raised spots which allow the lid to sit "flat" (like a tripod) on the pot without the extra machining step. This shortcut, unfortunately, makes it impossible for the lid to seal tightly. This makes the pot unsuitable for some tasks unless I make a foil gasket for a tight seal. Secondly, I now have several small chips in the enamel (on the lid and outside) on this pot. My Le Creuset pieces, which I have had much longer and use just as often, have no chipping.

Bottom line: the quality you get is the quality you pay for.

Update 3: I am informed in some of the comments that the products shipping in 2011 have a smooth rimmed lid rather than the "tripod" design. I cannot confirm this, but it would remove one problem I have described above. Meanwhile I am sending this pot to Goodwill and have replaced it with a French made oven from Costco.

Best Deals for Lodge Color Dutch Oven

I purchased this from Amazon around mid-December and have been using it probably 3-4 times/week since then. It is as well constructed as my mother's Le Creuset french ovens, but at a much more reasonable price. I find Lodge products to be a good value, although this piece represents a departure for them as it is not made in the USA, but rather China. Nonetheless, it is very well constructed, with details like the black porcelain enameled rim of the pot and the lid setting it apart from some of the other inexpensive alternatives. I have used mine for mussels in white wine, no-knead bread (more on this below), stew, and various other dishes, and it has held up very well thus far. In another 20 or 30 years I should have a better idea of whether it will hold up as well as my mother's LC pots, but the materials appear to be suitable for the long haul. At one-sixth the price of Le Creuset, I'm willing to take that bet.

One aspect of the pot which I found wanting was the knob. The black phenolic knob completes the Le Creuset lookalike styling, but as with the LC product, it is not heat-safe to 500 degrees. I preheat the vessels for my bread baking at 500-550 degrees for 30-60 minutes, and the knob would not survive. Therefore, I went to the local hardware store and bought a substantial chrome-steel knob of the same base diameter as the included knob, with matching screw, and have used it ever since. For $9 total, the unit is now safe to 550 degrees F and beyond. Net cost: $59.

Great value and I recommend it highly.

Honest reviews on Lodge Color Dutch Oven

I called Lodge Mfg. They e-mailed me a report showing the testing that they have had done on their enamel coated cookware. All of their non enamel cookware is made here in the U.S. The enamel coated cookware is made in China but has been tested for lead content. That set my mind at ease and thought this review would help others too.

This Dutch oven is absolutely gorgeous! An incredible value in the world of enameled cast iron these days, I have a Le Creuset dutch oven that I love, but wanted another piece that was smaller and to be completely honest, wanted to to test one of Lodge's new enameled cast iron pieces that are more price friendly. I have other lodge pieces which I love and thought it was worth a try. I have to admit I was lured by the beautiful red color. Now that I have received it and see it, the picture does not do it justice! It is so pretty, but it cooks superbly like my other lodge pieces, but clean up is so much easier and I don't have to oil each time. I can also cook dishes that are acidic that I can't in the regular cast iron. You also can cook at almost half the normal temps in the oven because it retains the heat so well, which is great with the price of electricity and gas right now! I really think these are going to take off with their affordable prices on these. They have the Lodge name security backing them and hopefully they have not sold their name to produce these like a lot of other companies these days, but I doubt it. But for under $50 for a 6 quart dutch oven, it is worth a try! I am very happy and showing all my friends and family. Do give these a try!

I make a lot of single servings of oatmeal due to the caffeine addiction of the other people in my house. I looked for a good pot for single servings. My existing All-Clad 1 liter pots are too big (diameter).

First I bought the All Clad 1/2 Quart Butter Warmer All-Clad Stainless Butter Warmer with Pour Spouts, which is just a mini version of a normal All Clad saucepan. I like the All Clad, but it's too small in case I want to throw someting else in like a banana.

Then I bought the 3 cup Le Creuset pan. It's the perfect size. The bottom is heavy and looks to be three ply, although the sides are thin. That plus the size are the real difference between the All Clad and Le Creuset. The bottom and sides on the All Clad are three ply (although it's twice the price).

Even though they call this a Measuring Pan, it works very well as a standard saucepan (but in miniature).

It is difficult to find small pans for my induction cooktop and was pleased to see these I ordered both the 2 cup and 3 cup. They are good quality pans, fairly heavy with a rounded-over lip, and I like the measurement markings on the inside of the pan both cups and ml. The problem is that they don't work on my induction cooktop. They're nice pans so I'm giving them to my kids instead of returning them.

I bought this to heat milk. Since it's 3 ply I assumed easy cleanup (like my other 3 ply pans). This one's of poor quality. The milk quickly burned on the bottom of pan and was very difficult to clean.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Stainless-Steel Measuring Pan

I've been using this little pan constantly since I got it. It's a handy size for lots of cooking tasks. I think it's a great value for a very useful pan.

This sturdy, well-built pan is perfect for small amounts needing heating or cooking. The measuring cup aspect wasn't important to me but rather the overall size. It's hard to find.

This has been our favorite pan since we got it good size and great performance. I actually like it better than the Calphalon we've used for the past 5 years.

I have a electric stove that is in desperate need of replacing. It is uneven and pans wobble on it. Of course this means it heats uneven and creates a poor cooking surface. This pan is heavy enough to compensate for my stoves weakness and completely surpasses my expectations for a consumer skillet.

In every way this is superior to any pan I have owned. I highly recommend it.

I love this thing. But I have two caveats. (1) I wish the lid were ventable. (2) I wish the handle on the lid were designed to reduce heat. It's a hassle to have to put on a mitt just to lift the lid.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart 622-30G Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch

Just received this skillet, which is my umpteenth non-stick skillet. I was attracted by the "Lifetime Warranty" since I can't seem to keep a non-stick skillet for very many years without scratches. (And yes, I handwash, store carefully, and use wooden or plastic utensils.) i haven't actually used the skillet yet, but be forewarned:

1. there is an asterisk by the words "LIfetime Warranty" on the packaging, but I cannot find for the life of me what caveats that asterisk refers to.

2. The front of the package says in BIG type: Dishwasher safe. But inside the packaging it very clearly states "Do not put in the dishwasher." False advertising! (And I always handwash, but STILL. That's not right.)

Both the skillet and the glass lid feel well constructed the handle is solid metal so it's sturdy and securely attached to the pan, but manages to stay cool while on the stove. Overall it seems to distribute heat pretty well on my electric range, and the nonstick surface is one of the best of any pan I've used. It's ridiculously easy to clean. It's a bit heavy to hold for too long with just one hand, but what else would you expect from a well-made large 12" skillet? This is no thin cheapy little pan.

It's a rubber gasket.

It fits my Presto 23-qt pressure canner perfectly, and keeps the steam inside where it belongs.

I only use the canner once or twice a month, but I have yet to experience any gasket shrinking.

The seal kit came very quickly and a very good price. I just would like to point out that it came also with the little rubber cap that goes on the top. Thanks

I bet I've been using the same gasket/ring in my big pressure cooker for four years!!! It started leaking water when heating up and was taking forever to get to the 15 lb pressure point. I ordered a new gasket and VOILA! No more leaking water and within just a few minutes the pot reaches 15 lb. Duh!

Haven't used this yet, bought it for a back up to have on hand. It was cheaper than buying locally so I went for it.

CAC China NCN-16 Clinton Narrow Rim 10-1/2-Inch Super White Porcelain Plate, Box of 12

I bought these plates for their shape, size, color and great price. The plates are well made. They are thick enough to resist chipping and breakage yet not so heavy as to be burdensome when loading and unloading from the dish washer. They are consistent in shape and stack well. Also the narrow rim means more space for food for a given size plate. I bought them six months ago and have used them ever since without any problems. I originally ordered two boxes of twelve plates and one box arrived with a broken plate. Amazon replaced the box immediately, this time with the box of plates wrapped in bubble wrap within another box. Problem solved. I also ordered the Clinton Narrow Rim 7-1/4-Inch plates which arrived OK and are of the same fine quality as the 10-1/2 plates.

This china looks great on top of charger with a smaller piece on top of it due to its design. Used them at Easter for Easter table and they were terrific. I was fearful if the grandchildren had an accident and chip or broke them because the price point was right.

These are excellent pots for everyday use. Very durable and items heat up quickly. Would recommend it to anyone and you can't beat the price.

Although this Ikea set is perhaps not the thickest gauge, it is a great value especially considering that it can be used for several types of cooking including induction meaning that it has a magnetic pull. This item does require some simple assembly screwing on the handles but it is well worth it.

If you want a set of sturdy lightweight everyday cookware at a low price you can't beat this set. Of course they look cheap, by the time you take off $10 for actual shipping you are getting three pans and two lids for $17. They heat quickly and cook just as well as my expensive set and at this price I won't have to baby them afraid of scratches or discoloration. I paid nearly $10 for one small saucepan at Walmart and it didn't have the triple bottom for even heat distribution, not even a heat resistant handle. Of course I forgot and burned my hand right away. It takes just a minute to attach the handles and knobs, the lids have small steam vents too. If you are a gourmet cook, you will need the big expensive sets. If you do casual and not-that-frequent cooking like I do,this should do very well. I couldn't be happier with my purchase considering the price.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. Without a doubt these pot are the cheapest looking pots i have ever purchased. Sorry Ikea,I give you an F

Symphony Ecolution Nonstick Gourmet Cookware Review

About a month ago I moved cross-country and went from a large kitchen to a pullman kitchen. I sold all of my cookware consisting of about 15 pots and pans comprised of Calphalon One Nonstick, Allclad, Copco, etc. I saw this nonstick set and purchased it because it utilizes Hydrolon®, an exclusive, eco-friendly, water-based solvent that replaces toxic PFOA solvents. I wasn't sure how good the nonstick would be, but it works great on my electric glass top range. I gave it my usual fried egg test and it slid right out of the pan without any oils. I then heated up the pan and put in a slice of swiss cheese for 5 minutes. It came out without leaving a mark. Having previously used top of the line nonstick cookware, this has proven to be of equal or better quality for 1/2 the price. Also, the glass lids have a small vent hole to permit steam venting so you can view what you are cooking. I am very pleased with my purchase. Also, the individual bags they use for packing is great for separating the pans when I put them on top of each other in the cupboard so the nonstick is protected. Nice touch. I have now added the 11 inch frypan to the set. I also like the fact that the cookware is induction compatible should I get an induction burner in the future. Oven safe to 350 degrees.
