I originally got this so I could make a big Turkish Coffee every morning, and that's all I did with it for weeks, and it is excellent at that, keeping the boil/foam in, making enough for a big drink and a snap to clean with just a nylon scrubbie and dishsoap in a moment. It heats quickly, looks great after dozens and dozens of uses and works great for the purpose.

HOWEVER, I've also used it to do reductions, melt butter, cheese, reheat gravy, quickly make hot tea, blanch grape tomatoes, and a bunch of other little things that you'd normally use a small or medium saucier to do. The base on this is heavy: it heats evenly... across the flat bottom. Keep the flame within the diameter of the disc... which is good. You won't use as much energy and your water/sauce/gravy, whatever, will boil!

The only warning I would offer is a handling one and a cleaning one. The handle does get hot, because the pot is not very wide, so heat rising up the side heats the extra heavy gauge wire handle. Use a mitt or potholder. Also, NEVER EVER USE STEEL WOOL OR ABRASIVE POWDER on the inside: the reason is that the measurements are lightly etched, not deep etched, on the inside. You could wipe them away in a few cleanings if you're not careful. Soak for ten minutes, use a nylon scrubby if needed for burnt milk or chocolate, and you're good to go. Remember to keep the disc clean from any build up so you don't get hot spots!

Great, useful little pot you'll go to often!

I have been using this pot for over a year. Friends who visit have been so impressed that I end up sending it home with them and having to order more. Be sure to dry it out after every use to keep it looking bright and clean.

this is the second one i have had of this item...the first one i had for a few years...i used it every day...basically, i used it for water, but periodically it was called into service for things like oatmeal or soups...i loved the size, the ease of cleaning it, although how dirty can it get from boiling water...i loved that the handle never got hot...this item was called to duty several times during the day and it always sat on top of the stove...i loved that i could see from the inside how much liquid i was pouring into it...

one day, i was cooking the water for tea...i went into the bedroom to look something up on the computer and somehow, i got involved with my computer...i totally forgot about the water on the stove...about twenty minutes later, i returned to the kitchen and an awful smell, only to find that my water was gone and the bottom of the pan was black inside and out...i scrubbed and scrubbed, but most of the black would not come off...i then tried to boil water again in it only to find that it sat and rocked on the burner because i had warped the bottom of it...i tried to use some different pots, but i found that i missed the measurements on the inside and the ease of the handle that stayed cool for pouring and after about 5 days, i searched the computer for another one, which i found on amazon and we are now living happily ever after together...now, when i am boiling a cup or 2 of water in it, i hang around in the kitchen until it is done...

so, thankfully, my story ended well... purchasing this item on amazon was great...it arrived in a few days...i have always had good luck purchasing on amazon and delivery has always been speedy...my first pot has now been relegated to watering a plant or two and will probably end up as a plant holder or be relegated to my grandchildren's sandbox, but the problem was with me, not with it...i guess it would be great if it had a loud whistle that could be heard all around the house, that would go off when someone left the room and forgot about it...i bet i am not the first person that has done this...hope you don't make the same mistake....

The stainless steel got stained after boiling milk. Really tried to clean it, but it was impossible... therefore not a good purchase choice

Having already owned one of these for 5 yrs, I decided to order a second one for the camper.

This little pot is THE PERFECT SIZE, fits EXACTLY over the small burner on your stove. MEASUREMENTS are MARKED INSIDE !!! How perfect is that?? "Add water to here, add milk to here, add mac/n/cheese mix, etc"

I have also found that it is PERFECT for boiling One Dozen Eggs.

If you do happen to burn the outside when cooking over an open fire, etc, it CLEANS UP EASILY with one of those little Scotch Pad sponge things.

What else can I say, I LOVE this awkward looking little pot.

Review of Bialetti Taste of Italy Risotto Pan 4-Quart with Glass Lid

Bialetti Taste of Italy Risotto Pan 4-Quart with Glass Lid

I've tried to cook Risotto in the past with a large skillet and didn't have much luck is making nicely textured risotto. The shallow sides of the skillet made for a mess as while I was stirring in the broth as the rice cooked. I should have known better. Also my skillet wasn't non-stick like this Taste of Italy Risotto Pan.

The pan being reviewed is well made but you are not going to mistake it for cookware from Calphalon. But who cares this pan does the job, and it does it well. I like the non-stick surface as it cleans up easy. The riveted handles on the sides of the pan and cover are tight.

The included glass cover came in handy this morning as I used the pan and cover to do a frittata! My spouse complained that I stunk up the house with onion and asaparagus smells while these veggies sautéd at 5:30 a.m.

Do yourself a favor and get the Williams-Sonoma Risotto cookbook. I had no idea how many tasty variations that can be made until I read this cookbook. Next on my list is the stuffed tomato risotto after making a combo mushroom, asparagus and cheese for the maiden voyage of this great pan.

I'm going to give it five stars because of the great price and the bonus of being able to use it for a frittata.

It was smaller than what I thought . Other than that I really like it. Handles stay cool when cooking.

I wanted this to boil potatoes, and it does that, but it's so hard to scrub the potato starch out of the mesh that I use a completely different mashed potato recipe. Buy the pasta insert instead with holes punched in a solid panel of metal, which should do everything you'd want from the mesh insert. By the way after years of professional and amateur bartending and catering I rate this as the BEST ICE BUCKET EVER. User-friendly and keeps ice frozen for hours, and doubles as a cooking pot the rest of the year. However, my recommendation to buy the hole-punched pasta insert still applies for the same reasons.

Seriously, though, BEST ICE BUCKET EVER.

Excellent pot for large batches of pasta or veggies or anything you want to boil. You could likely choose to use it to deep fry, as well , but I have the all clad deep frying basket for that. However, this one would certainly hold much more. And you can choose not to use the insert and you have the best priced all clad stock pot on the market. (The 8 qt stock pot currently runs $259.) As with all All Clad products, this set is very well made and will not disappoint. Excellent value rating from an All Clad lover and loyal user.

This is THE brand to use if you use a French press. You will never have any trouble with coffee grounds in your coffee. The press fits perfectly and the screen is fine enough to keep even the smallest grinds from leaking through. Only one caution, 4 cups means 4 small cups of coffee. If you use a mug, its 2 1/2 to 3.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This wasn't the first french press I tried, so I was well-aware that the french press method makes a fuller, superior coffee to an electric drip setup. The temperature of the water is more controlled (I tend to simply wait sixty seconds with the kettle off of heat before pouring), the lack of a filter, which allows the grounds to be in direct contact with the coffee for an extended period, makes for a thick, satisfying cup. With the right grind (and fresh beans ground immediately before brewing), this makes better coffee than I've ever had inside or outside of my own home.

And if you're already aware of the wonders of pressed coffee, the Chambord in particular is a superior press. The stainless steel frame gives it an indestructible feel and makes it quite attractive on one's countertop. Also, the actual plunger is a much more snug fit than other presses I've encountered, minimizing the sludge in the coffee. Strangely, though, the plunger doesn't extend down completely, so make sure you serve it immediately if your coffee doesn't quite fill up the bottom space (to avoid having some overextracted coffee at the bottom). The short, wide dimensions also make it easier to store and lowers the center of balance (good for not knocking it over). Also, it comes with a handy measuring spoon that is of bizarre dimensions (7 grams), but somehow, when level, is the perfect measurement. 1 scoop to one (European) cup of coffee (so 4 for a full press). I'm incredibly happy with the whole ordeal, especially for the price. I'll probably also invest in a larger one for entertaining purposes, since this is only enough for myself or one other person.

It's worth noting a few things that should be considered, though I don't think they are drawbacks: the glass will not hold heat long, so the coffee should be served right away (which is when it is best anyway. Coffee should never be put on heat to keep warm, it'll start to take on unpleasant flavors like restaurant coffee). Also, a "4-Cup" press is measured in a rather obscure measurement: the four ounce European coffee cup. Thus, this press makes 16-17 ounces of coffee. This is far from four hefty American mugs, and is more like one oversized or two medium mugs. If you are planning on serving yourself and three guests, I'd opt for the eight or ten cup models.

Bottom line: everyone I serve coffee to since getting this press and a nice burr grinder says it's amazingly good, and my old drip machine is unplugged and in a box.

Best Deals for Bodum Chambord 4 cup French Press Coffee Maker, 17 oz, Chrome

Pros: Great tasting coffee, easy to use, very stylish.

Cons: A bit troublesome to clean by hand.

BEWARE, though! French Presses generate a sludge at the bottom of every cup. It's part of the charm, but increases in volume with a decrease in the quality grind! If you're serious about coffee, spend the extra $$$ and buy a good burr grinder!

Honest reviews on Bodum Chambord 4 cup French Press Coffee Maker, 17 oz, Chrome

This is my first coffee press and I am very pleased with the coffee I can brew with it. It is well worth the price and the quality is very good. Your results will be good as long as you follow the directions and use coarse ground coffee. It is rated as a 4-cup unit with 6 oz. cups, but with the coffee mugs we use here in the midwest it is only a 2 cup unit. So, if you really want a 4 cup unit get the 8 cup press. If you want to try a press for coffee this is an excellent way to begin.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bodum Chambord 4 cup French Press Coffee Maker, 17 oz, Chrome

I got the 4-cup model. It makes 1 "big cup" of coffee, with a little room for cream, if I'm in the mood. (my big cup is about 2x the size of a standard American coffee cup)

My wife does not drink coffee, so the smaller model was perfect for me. I may purchase a larger model at some point, for entertaining guests.

Pros

-Makes fantastic coffee, if you follow some easy rules: coarse grind (reduce sediment), don't use too little grounds (over-extraction = bitter coffee), grind your own beans (GRIND YOUR OWN BEANS!!!), if not back-to-back... wash between uses (oil buildup = bitter coffee), don't leave extra coffee in the press (it will continue to steep, which is bad)

-Simple to use, simple to clean. Everything comes apart with little hassle

-Dishwasher safe (Though I use it too much to ever let it sit in the dishwasher.)

-Sturdy (The commenter who mentioned busting the bottom out was probably using Hulk strength when pressing, stirring with metal (which creates micro-fractures in the glass), or possibly cleaning with cold water too soon after having the hot coffee in the press. (which is also bad for glass... duh))

-You will experience flavors you never knew coffee had before.

Cons

-More work to clean up than a filter-brew machine (but worth it)

-Glass is breakable, don't drop it or hand it to a 2 year old. (They make unbreakable plastic models, but the oils that buildup to make coffee bitter cling to plastic, and don't cling to glass. It's a chemistry thing, according my Chemical Engineer brother.)

-It has ruined me for other coffee. I used to tolerate the bad office coffee, now I can't stand the smell of it. When I travel, I miss the french press but buy coffee from a chain of some sort, but it's still not as good as my own press.

Fantastic press!

Side Note: I have heard that the Aero-press makes a great cup of coffee too, but I'm hesitant to try, because it still uses a filter, and you lose certain flavor components of the coffee to the filter, no matter what you do.

For those of you who want a review from a lover of cast iron that actually owns this...

I love all my cast iron cookware, except this one. The enamel coating on it is horrible. I'm not sure you should even season something that has been enameled, and I would be willing to try (probably ruining the griddle completely), except that this griddle really does not hold heat evenly. I am going to give this one back to my mother in law and buy a lodge logic.

sorry Emeril, you rock, just don't like this piece.

Well, I bought it at Macy's whilst browsing. I wasn't really looking for it, but when I hefted the box, I thought that this was a SERIOUS piece of cooking equipment. Emerilware has some real crap in its line, but this seemed promising.

Well, 4 months later, I really really like it. But it isn't a traditional "put stuff on it and it works" type of device. Nope, some learning about how to use it and more about how to care for it are necessary to produce maximum benefits.

The first has been mentioned, it must be sprayed with PAM before heating. Each and Every time. Second, it takes a long long time to heat up, think at least 15 minutes (like pre-heating an oven, start this before cooking). Third, it might not fit your burners the way you like it to (especially with gas burners) but with a little time and practice one can find harmony between surface flatness, even heat distribution, and stability.

I am still learning on the care/cleaning requirements, as the directions provided are laughably inadequate. That is why I can't classify it as a 5-star product.

But it unquestionably opens new cooking frontiers for quick dinners or large breakfasts. Maybe there's a better one, and I have seen the catastrophic failures. But it sure makes cooking and more importantly eating more fun.

Best Deals for Emeril by All-Clad E6019764 Cast-Iron 2-Burner Reversible Grill

I have used this product as a grill and griddle over the past month. The trick here is to heat up the grill or griddle, then, brush oil or butter on it. Pancake and eggs slide around. Steak develops nice grill marks.

I use stainless steel utensils with this product.

Clean up was easy when I allowed it to heat up then brush oil or butter.

Honest reviews on Emeril by All-Clad E6019764 Cast-Iron 2-Burner Reversible Grill

this griddle is wonderful, very durable, high quality, even heat distribution, it is easy to take care of if you follow the instructions that are on the instruction sheet. i love this product and highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not own this pan, but I am a lover of cast iron cookware in general, and thus feel compelled to respond to this earlier negative review.

First of all ALL cast iron pans, whether "pre-seasoned" or raw, need to be seasoned after you buy them. Several times for best results.('seasoning' usually means baking the pan with oil in it for a good period of time to seal off the pores in the metal surface). You will not get non-stick results out of the box, no matter what you buy. I own a "pre-seasoned" 8-quart dutch oven from the Emeril series, and the pan needed to be seasoned after I got it (as did my "pre-seasoned" 12-inch Lodge skillet). I also have a smaller Lodge skillet that I bought "raw" and it's worth noting that it took significantly longer to get it to non-stick level of seasoning. So pre-seasoning helps, but does not eliminate the need for the honorable task of seasoning your pan. Regardless of issues of seasoning, my Emeril dutch oven has performed beautifully, it is very solid, has classic lines and is well-made at an accessible price, which I very much appreciate. I can't imagine the grill pan is much different. Cast iron is pretty simple, and the Emeril series seems to do it right.

2) Cast iron is unique and awesome in part because it holds heat so well, but it does need to be preheated for several minutes for full effect to allow the heat to spread out and transfer to the entire pan. Obviously a pan that covers two burners is going to have hot spots to some degree, but allowing a good 5-8 minutes for the pan to preheat will significantly reduce this. I don't know if the previous reviewer allowed enough time for preheating, which may have contributed to his/her complaints about uneven cooking. Cast iron gives the most even cooking of any cooking surface out there, for the exact same reasons that people most often complain about it it's really heavy and it gets really hot and stays that way. Certainly cast iron cooks more evenly than the electric skillet the previous reviewer mentioned buying instead. I could be completely wrong, this pan may have horrible hot spots, and as I said, I don't own this pan, but this sounds to me like it could be a user problem.

3) You can't use a cast iron pan once and throw it in the trash! It may take a month or more to get the pan to a stage where it will create the beautifully browned, crisped non-stick results that cast iron lovers rave about. Patience (and turning a deaf ear to naysayers) is well-rewarded. In my experience it doesn't make a ton of difference which manufacturer you go with, in terms of the performance of the surface or metal itself. Cast iron pretty much performs like cast iron. Variations among brands have more to do with what shape or size you like, which design feels better in your hand. The thing that makes the biggest difference in the results you'll get from cast iron is in how you treat the pan. I cook sometimes in my job as a personal assistant, and my boss has a full set of very expensive Le Creuset enameled (and some non-enameled) cast iron that barely gets used, and it's not as enjoyable to cook with as a result. I would choose my five dollar raw cast iron skillet any day of the week. The results I get from the pan are stellar because it is used often and well-loved, and therefore has a fabulous well-seasoned surface.

So I will say, if you buy this pan and it's your first piece of cast iron, give it a month or two before you decide whether or not you like it.

Which brings me to the other reason I love cast iron so much because it requires a bit of effort and patience in the beginning, I've found I really have a relationship with my cast iron pans. I LOVE my cast iron pans! (maybe this makes me crazy, but if so, it's a very enjoyable form of insanity :) ) It's a simple, humble material that will last a lifetime remember that old phrase "wears like iron?" so I highly recommend making the leap into the wonderful world of cast iron, whether with this pan or another one. Just remember that it takes a bit of patience and a bit of doing, but you will be rewarded with a friend that is (almost) as reliable as death and taxes.

I'm in a process of ridding my kitchen of all Teflon pans. I wanted a large cast iron pan in my collection but my glass cooktop would not permitt... until I found lines of enamel coated cast iron pots and pans. However, most the prices were out of my budget range. That's when I ran into this great deal. I have been using this pan for over a month and I love it! (still getting use to the extra weight associated with all cast iron cookware). $40.00 and free shipping. . .two thumbs up as a GREAT BUY.

Every household should have at least on cast iron pan. This is why; they are great for searing meats: steaks, burgers, tuna steaks and the like. Bacon in the morning: Somehow bacon cooks up well in this pan, probably because of the even heat distribution and retention. Anyways, this is a good sear pan. My only criticism is the inside surface is gritty, so it is not good for cooking eggs or pancakes. These items tend to break-up when you try to flip them. This is not a good general purpose pan, consider it a specialty pan. But what it does it does well!

Best Deals for Tramontina Gourmet Cast Iron Saute Pans

I got this at a local shop specializing in close outs for $25. This was an absolute steal, probably the buy I have had all year. This is a very heavy enameled cast iron pan in a pretty red. The pan is a very thick cast iron with a thick handle. It easily weights more than similar LC, Staub, Lodge pans. It has a much needed helper handle. The inside is a black enamel that easily washes up and you don't have to worry about re-seasoning it. (you do have to season the rim, which is no big deal). I cannot speak for longevity yet, but this one cooks wonderfully, nice and even. I bought one and was so impressed I went back and bought the next size up. Get one while you can!

I have never had so much difficulty cleaning a pan after cooking scrambled eggs! Food clings to this pan with impressive tenacity.

The interior of this pan is very rough and the material is not smooth at all. This is in no way a non-stick pan, in spite of the porcelain enamel coating.

After spending more time cleaning the pan than cooking scrambled eggs and eating them, I will in the future use this pan only for cooking food that is very unlikely to stick.

I bought a Bialetti Aeternum pan at the same time, and I'm very happy with the Bialetti.

Maybe my pan is defective, and not actually enameled? I have a Tramontina dutch overn that has a white enamel interior, and it works great. This Tramontina saute pan has a black interior, so maybe the factory forgot to enamel this pan....

I purchased this and was pleased with the size and cooking capacity, but was extremely disappointed to discover that it was made in China. This was unexpected due to Royal Doulton standards and the price of the roaster. Also this piece is NOT white, as described. It is actually off white, almost bisque. If you have other pieces by this line then you can store them inside of this piece which I thought was clever and well thought out.

I already have one of these roaster pans. It is well made and the only pan I have found to cook my yeast rolls perfectly! (I like my bottoms to be evenly browned) It is nice size for one batch of rolls. I bought another from this seller and unfortunately it arrived broken! I am sending it back for a refund and will decide whom I will buy my second one from later, as I hate going through the return process! The nearest UPS from me is a 120 mile drive and the post office is an inconvience.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this pan, and the others in the set.

It is super light.

Heats up very quickly (do not go above medium).

So easy to clean it is ridiculous.

The cover fits the frying pan as well.

The quality is fantastic. It's not like the "Green" pans that only have a thin, painted-on coating of ceramic that wears off in two months. There is an actual, full layer of ceramic over the metal. Then another coating over that.

Get this, and the others!!! You won't be sorry.

I gave this pan only a 3-star rating because of its size. I wanted to replace my 14-inch Tefal non-stick pan with a 'safe', PFOA/ PTFE/Cadmium -free ceramic non-stick pan. So when I read the description of this pan, I was elated to read that it was 14 by 7 by 3 1/2 inches. However, I just received the pan and it is SMALL! I measured it and it is just 10 1/4 inches in diameter. I must assume that the handles were part of the measurement, which is a very unusual thing to do (in my opinion)and creates a misunderstanding. I threw out my old pan yesterday, and since I need a pan TODAY, I will keep this one but I will probably have to cook in batches. I am very disappointed, to say the least, that the size wasn't accurately stated. I also don't think that a rather small pan as this deserves the name "Jumbo".... As to the quality of the pan: it looks very well manufactured and beautiful. Since I haven't cooked with it yet, I cannot make any statements as to it's functioning.

Best Deals for WearEver C9443364 Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating

I haven't used it yet but your measurements are off you said it was 14 by 7 by 3 1/2 but it is only a 10 in by 3 1/2. I will keep it cause I really like the deeper pan but It is not a 14 inch around pan.

Honest reviews on WearEver C9443364 Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating

Actually, it should be 4 1/2 starts to start. Some things I noticed with the pan. The first time you heat it the pan there was some off-gassing that does affect the flavor of the first couple of things you cook. I performed the seasoning as the as instructed and have only washed via soap and water. I have cooked eggs, pancakes, grilled cheese, and various other meals with NO OIL! well the grilled cheese had margarine on the bread ... You do not need oil, and the cooking is odd because things boil/cook because of heat instead of frying because of oil. While odd, still very tasty! Another thing, these pans need very little heat to cook. They distribute heat very evenly and rapidly, if you cook on too high of heat it will burn, possibly stick food to the pan. I cook with gas and the flame is med to med low about 1" from the pan. Cleanup couldn't be easier, no staining evident after cooking multiple tomato sauce dishes as well. I'll update after a few months.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for WearEver C9443364 Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating

It cooks evenly and is so easy to stir-fry vegetables and everything else because the size is large and the sides of the pan are high so your food doesn't flip out of the pan. Nothing sticks and the food slides around easily. Clean-up is easy because nothing sticks.

I really do love it and want to change all of my cookware to this product.

I wish Wear Ever would also make a much larger fry pan, and I mean very large. I'd buy it immediately. (Would someone please tell Wear Ever for me?)

The ceramic finish is so easy to work with. I know it's durable but I am babying this pan just out of love for it!! :-)

We go through these types of pans regularly, so it's nice to have one that's eco-friendly. It's held up to our abuse so far, though the logo on the non-cook side has scratched and worn off in places. Not sure why it did that but hasn't affected anything. It's pretty light-weight. Standard size surface you can make 4 pancakes at one time.

Fairly even heating...we've never owned a brand that was perfect. We cook on electric, and the outer edge of the pan doesn't get quite as hot as the middle. So, say, a grilled cheese or pancake is cooked on the edges but just not brown on the side that was nearest to the edge of the pan. If it matters, you can flip it around halfway through cooking.

I was in need of a new griddle pan (as another reviewer mentioned, we seem to go through these regularly), so I picked this one up in my local grocery store (for about five dollars less than the price offered here). I was attracted to the eco-friendly concept as well as the rubberized, stay-cool handle (love this!), and yes, even the cute flower design on the bottom. :) (This actually has a purpose--it is supposed to distribute the heat more evenly.)

I have been using this pan just over a month, and I love it! So far, it has definitely been the BEST non-stick griddle I have ever used. I find that it works as well for breakfast foods (such as pancakes and french toast) as it does for grilled items like burgers. None of these items stick to the pan at all--and that's with minimal or no oil used.

But I think the most impressive part of this griddle is the clean-up. I was amazed when I put what I thought was a sticky mess of grilled onion, etc. in the sink, turned on the water, and the running water ALONE cleaned off the pan! I've NEVER had to scrub this pan; I just give it a couple of swishes with a sudsy cloth, and I'm done. (NOTE: it IS dishwasher-safe, but I prefer to hand-wash my non-stick pans to extend their life.)

At this point, I am optimistic that this griddle might outlast my other non-stick pans, but only time will tell. In the meantime, however, I would highly recommend this Ecolution Artistry product!

This pan is a step above the entry-level Ecolution griddle pan I bought previously. It retains heat better, cooks evenly, holds the temperature well, and is truly a non-stick pan w/o all the chemicals normally used to process non-stick pans. Our family loves it!

Honest reviews on Ecolution Artistry 11 Inch Griddle

Works great it doesn't stick. Great for my pancakes. Easy to clean. I really like it.

Great for the price.

Bought this to replace an older Teflon griddle after noting some of the Teflon was chipping. At first it worked great but after a week or so we noticed that everything ran to the edges and away from the middle. Turns out the middle is warped now and higher than the sides. The sides are nice and high on a positive note but the warping is a deal killer.

I got this as Christmas gift and immediately baked two bundt cakes in the pans. They cooked great, came out fine, but when I took them out to use them a third time, I noticed a bubble in the non-stick coating. When I touched it, a large piece of the coating peeled off.

Love this set of bundt pans. It makes two small cakes from one cake mix. They're just the right size and for keeping one for yourself and taking one to a friend. Also got my friend a set.

This is basically two smaller bundt pans that you stack on each other to make the pumpkin. It did not line up well together and had a huge space in between the cakes. I could have gotten the same result with a regular bundt pan. Do not waste your money.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Great Bundt Pumpkin Pan Set

The pan arrived on time and in perfect condition. It was easy to use and the cake released perfectly. My one criticism is that the cake itself was a little bit more squat in shape than I had wanted. I had hoped for a really round pumpkin. That being said, I corrected for the shape with the frosting and added a "stem" made from a flat-bottom ice cream cone frosted in dark green. I used various leaf-shaped cookie cutters to embellish the pumpkin and surrounded it with tiny acorn cakelettes. It was a big hit with the Birthday girl!

Arrived today, and it is absolutely AWFUL! How on earth did it ever get through their quality control? The finish is missing in places, is crusted and broken in others, then painted over so there are loose chips all over the pans. Other places have no finish at all. Would never use this, I'm sure chips would wind up in the cakes. And Made in USA is supposed to be superior to Made in China. I'm thinking this would have NEVER passed quality control in China! Yikes! I don't blame Amazon, they are just boxing and shipping these. but geesh, Nordicware should be ashamed. Fortunately, Amazon makes returns super easy and it's already boxed to go back.

Cheap 9.5" Fry pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

9.5' Fry pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Coating by Healthy Legend -ECO Friendly Non-toxic Cookware
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

In my search for the perfect lightweight non-stick frying pan, I bought this one and gave it a try. So far so good. It does come with a list of warnings, such as no metal utensils, no freezing, no stacking other pans on top of it, no knocking anything against it (something hard to avoid when putting pans and plates in the sink), etc. This is a well made and solid pan, but the care warnings make it look like just another ceramic coated pan that has to be babied. I use both wood and silicone plastic cooking utensils. I will not be using high heat, as even though it lists a 920F(450C) degree maximum cooking temperature limit, I don't trust any ceramic coated pan not to peel at a high cooking temperature. I will be using it with a Medium High maximum heat setting. It does come with a heavy glass cover to control grease spatter and allow you to contain the heat and view the cooking process, but at Medium High you don't get that much spatter to begin with. I always cook with a small slice of salt-free butter, for the taste, and out of habit from many years of trying to keep food from sticking to a stainless steel frying pan. I tried frying an egg with a soapy water washed dry pan and no butter, but the egg stuck to the pan. I also tried frying an egg with a little water in the bottom of the pan. The egg still stuck, but not as much as it did with a dry pan. So much for non-stick. Back to using a slice of butter. Unless there is food stuck to the pan, I do not wash it with soap and water and a scrub sponge. Like the old fashioned cast iron frying pans, I just wipe it out with a tissue or paper towel. And like the old heavy cast iron frying pans, does a slight fat residue help to prevent sticking? Possibly. On the negative side, the pan has concentric rings on the bottom surface where it contacts the stove, making it a little harder to keep clean if anything sticks to it. The pans heats evenly, but will still burn food, even when cooking with butter. Perhaps a Medium heat cooking temperature would be safer if you are trying to do other things at the same time like a short-order cook (multi-tasking, not distracted cooking). I will keep this review open for further updates. If anyone knows of any good, hard-wearing, lightweight, non-stick 10" frying pans that don't require special care, please let me know by adding a comment.

NOTE: I wondered where the pan was manufactured, as it is not listed anywhere on the packaging, on the insert, or on the pan itself. There is no clear country of origin stating: Made in Germany. If their marketing department is being deceitful about the country of origin, what else are they being deceitful about? I also wondered about the SGS Lab Test Results, as the pages are printed on the insert so small, that except for the SGS title at the top of the pages, they are unreadable. Using a magnifying glass, it was obvious that they were too small for the printing process as well, as the print is nothing more than a blur of small colored dots. I have contacted the Healthy Legend company about these matters, and I will update this review when I receive a reply.

01/09/13 update: I received this info from sales@healthylegend.com:

"The uncoated pan and lid are from a subcontractor in Hungary. The final assembly and the ceramic coating is done in Germany where they want to control the process and keep it as secret. It is marked on the box Made in Germany. Most of the cost is the coating so it is classified as Made in Germany."

"As far as the SGS review, that is the factory thing and we are just selling pans so I cannot tell you."

Also, on another reply:

"It doesn't have a SGS test page for each pan. That would be a waste of paper as few people would be so technical to read it."

And so it goes. Their sales department staffers do not seem to be as informed as they could be, or should be, concerning their products.

See also my review of: Telebrands Orgreenic Frying Pan, 10 " (Kitchen).

05/01/13 update: I gave up on the Telebrands Orgreenic Frying Pan after five months of use (recycled it), and started using this Healthy Legend pan instead. In the past, I have only used this Healthy Legend pan a few times as a second cooking pan.

10/24/13 update: The cooking surface on this Healthy Legend frying pan does not show any signs of peeling or chipping, but the non-stick ability is only a memory. On the sidewalls, the very top inner edge shows some chipping, probably from contact with stoneware plates and other pans in the sink. The pan requires a bit of a soak, -before cleaning with a soapy plastic scrub sponge, but unlike my old stainless steel pan, it does not require heavy scraping and heavy scrubbing. This pan is aluminum, with an exposed aluminum bottom. I do not use an induction surface electric stove, and I do not know if this pan will work on an induction surface electric stove.

Great pan! I can't believe I've lived without all these years! I want to actually cook more. I am happiest because of its health properties, and I don't have to worry about what we are ingesting. Heats fast, cooks well, easy breezy clean up. I already own a saucepan and I can't wait to get my entire collection and replace some of my stainless steel. Thank you for the previous reviewers, that helped me with the purchase.

Best Deals for 9.5" Fry pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

I haven't historically been a fan of non-stick pans, but I wanted a pan that would satisfy those that did in the household without introducing PFTE. I did a little research and it seemed that the German Weilburger applied ceramic coated pans could perform. This pan has changed my mind about non-stick pans. It cooks well, browns well, and cleans crazy easy. It is so non-stick I need two spatulas to flip an egg (one to hold it in place so I can get the other underneath). I have now had this for about two months and have observed no degradation in the performance of the pan while in nearly daily use. I confidently recommend this pan as a substitute for PFTE pans. Note that this pan, like a PFTE pan, needs you to be generally gentle with it and in particular to use soft (not metal) utensils to keep it in prime shape. If you don't like this, I would suggest well seasoned cast iron pans as an alternative.

Honest reviews on 9.5" Fry pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

I bought this one for 6 months now. I am using this everyday to cook my breakfast and dinner. The non-stick works well. The handling is good and the pan is very durable. I love to be able to do away with Teflon coating. I think the German ceramic coating is unbeatable. I saw there are some other ceramic coatings out there but I rather pay a little more for the best.

After much, I mean really alot, of research I was able to determine that the coating on this pan is truly non toxic. The manufacturer makes many pans that are NOT non-toxic so I really had to be sure. I wanted to really put it's nonstick abilities to the test. So...I made a cheese omelet with NO butter or oil. That's right! Eggs directly on the pan. Cheese oozing out. I notice that it took a longer time to come to temperature than my Alclad nonstick..but..once there I had to turn down the heat and then it performed wonderfully. Folks..this coating is so nonstick that I had trouble flipping the omelet because it kept sliding away from the spatula! Finally I just flipped it with the pan..you know..like the fancy guys on television do?! The other day I sauteed some mushrooms and added a mixture of tomato paste and molasses. The pan was too hot for that and instead of liquifying it went straight to soft ball stage...as in candy making! Not a problem...stuff just slid right out. I sure hope this is really this good. Don't want to find out 10 yrs from now that..."ooops...sorry guys...we were wrong..this non-toxic ceramic causes cancer"!

When this cutting board arrived I took it out of its box, placed it over my stove top, laid my head on it and laughed from sheer joy.

It covers the top of my stove exactly. The wood is beautiful and warm.

I got mine late November/early December, and I use if everyday at least once, and it still looks new. It is easy to clean.

p.s. I only use mine to cut fruits or veggies....we are vegetarian.

Edit: It is Dec. 2012. I still own and love this cutting board. I'm thinking it will be the only one I'll ever have to purchase.

I bought this for a friend of mine as a wedding gift. They had a small, worthless cutting board on their registry, so I decided to buy them a legitimate piece of kitchen equipment. While I have not personally used the cutting board, I had what you might call "gifters remorse" upon wrapping it up for my pal. I had the urge to keep it and buy them the crappy one they asked for. The thing is just massive.

If you've spent any time in the kitchen, you are well aware of the numerous benefits of a large, heavy cutting board (and a good knife). Small, flimsy cutting boards slide around, warp, things fall off the side, they jump when you really pound them, spilling juices and such all over the place....Not so with cutting boards of this size and weight. Whether you're cracking lobsters, chopping onions, or deboning chickens, a sturdy cutting board such as this will make your life in the kitchen infinitely easier. I should know, I'm a classically trained french chef. Anyway, spend the cash and get yourself a real cutting board. Just make sure you measure your countertops first.

I sent for this cutting board after reading the description and the reviews. This is my third bamboo board (other two small in comparison but still quite good) and I will never own any other kind. This one is a good size so be sure your kitchen will provide the space; but it is worth every penny. Bamboo is much less likely to stain and scratch. Best thing about it? I'll never have to buy another!

Honest reviews on Totally Bamboo Big Kahuna Cutting Board

This is a well crafted and very attractive cutting board. It arrived in perfect condition, and we let it soak overnight with a liberal covering of mineral oil which you can get from any pharmacy or department store (oddly enough) in the laxative section. The minearal oil (food grade) will help keep the wood from drying, cracking, and splitting.

This board looks great, but it's HUGE! When we first placed it on our counter (marble slab island), we thought, "what have we bought?". We like the large cutting area, but with the legs, it sits several inches high on the counter. I considered trying to remove the legs to drop it an inch and let it sit flat on the counter, but the legs were very sturdily attached. Rather than mess up this beauty with my hammer, saw, and vice-grips, we decided to see if we get used to the height after a week or two. (Kind of like our first big-screen TV -it seemed like a monster when we first placed it in the room, but quickly seemed 'normal' size.)

This is a finely crafted board and I recommend it if you have a good-size counter. We've gone through several cheaper boards in the $50 range, and they didn't last. This guy seems like it will be around for a long time.

I have been through a number of cutting boards because I leave it next to my sink and use it constantly. I need a deep one because I am tall and the standard countertop is too low for me resulting in backaches. A couple of very expensive, made-in-Vermont boards have split on me probably because of moisture. I have had the Big Kahuna for over a year now and it is like new. I have used it daily and it shows no sign of wear. The feet keep it up off the counter so moisture isn't a problem. I highly recommend this cutting board.
