I was given this set as a present and just love them. They look great and are so nice to cook with. The handles stay nice and cool. I just love them even take them camping!! Definately my favourite pots ever.

I ordered this pot set on a whim through a groupon. I haven't had much use with them but thought I'd write a review because there was nothing out there. The pots seems to have a good weight on them and the handles are solid i was afraid they would be flimsy from the pic. They have a nice copper tone to them. I tested them out and it boiled water in Bout 10 minI think that's average thee handles really do stay cool to the tough , just caution if you have a gas stove the handle closer to the pot gets hot. Ill update later to comment on durability

I LOVE this copper pot rack! I especially enjoy having the warmth of copper in my kitchen, which adds a "decorator touch" like no other.

I also enjoy having the extra, new-found storage in my cupboards, that this pot rack has freed up!

Would I buy this item again?

In a word, ABSOLUTELY!

These knives are quite sharp. They are heavier than most steak knives. They have a nice feel to them.

However, they have these fine serrations. I contacted Global and asked about the serrations and sharpening.... they replied.

"It is quite typical to have it to have it with the steak knife to cut the stringy meat. However, it is not available to sharpen the edge."

I love my Global knives, but I am not so sure how I feel about not being able to sharpen the knives, as I would expect to keep knives of this nature forever. I am contemplating purchasing an electric sharpener that can sharpen knives with serrations.....

I gave 4 stars because of my ambivalence about the serrations. The knives are more than capable of cutting steak.

I have about 20 global knives and love them all, these are high quality knives...When it comes to steak knives to be honest you probably can cut a steak equally well with $5 knives, but when you want all your knives to match you gotta pony up the cash!

Review of Amco Nylon Whisk

Amco Nylon Whisk

I don't need my kitchen tools to look perfect (although I think this whisk does look great), I just need them to work well. Amco's whisk does work well. The stainless steel handle feels good in my hands, the nylon whisk is flexible yet strong. I can prepare all my sauces and gravies in my non-stick cookware without worry. I like this product!

This wish is great. We got it as an alternative to a metal one because we didn't want to scratch up our new pans. It works great.

Fast ship-awesome product. Exactly as described. Will be eagerly using this on all my teflon pots. Handle is a nice 'weight'.

This seems just right. It may not be able to take on a think soup or chowder, but for everything else, I couldn't 'whisk' for anything more. ;)

I love this thing! My wife got me some stonedyne cookware for Christmas, and I wanted a whisk I could use and not feel nervous about. (The pans are stout, but c'mon... one can't be foolish.) This thing is exactly perfect ad the price is great.

Customer Ratings: 3 stars

This cutting board is not a board is paper thin so be sure you want it! I wasn't happy giving it as a gift, but my daughter actually likes it, although not as much as the thicker "real" cutting boards. Instructions say not to put it in the dishwasher but she does. I also found that trying to return an item like this costs almost as much for shipping as keeping it, which is why I didn't return it!

I have purchased these 3 times so far. They are durable, flexible, and work great! The design hasn't gotten marred by cutting on it, and we use it quite often. Will definitely be buying more. I would love to be able to buy them in 3 packs (or more) at a little lower cost, so if you are the company seeing this, please take that into consideration! The designs are beautiful, and look like art prints!

Best Deals for Magic Slice Non-Slip Flexible Cutting Board, Party Size 7-1/2-Inch

This is not what I would call a cutting "board". This is made from a extremely thin, plastic layer. It is fairly small and very thin. The pattern is cute so I decided to keep it. I am not sure how often I will use it as a cutting board, but I do keep it on the center of the kitchen table for decor purposes. I would not recommend this item as it does not appear to be durable for heavy duty chopping.

1. The EatSmart Precision Pro Digital at $25 (12/11) and the Ozeri Pro Digital at under $20 scales are IDENTICAL. I have both, having had the Eatsmart for at least three years, and the Ozari I bought as a gift and tested it. One is black with a chrome-finish platform. The other is silver with a chrome-finish platform. The black body looks as if it is black plastic throughout; the silver body finish might possibly have been painted or otherwise applied (It's description says Elegant Chrome, but just the platform and buttons have a chromed finish.) Personally, I prefer the black, available in both brands.

2. The readout is large; you don't need glasses. It is not backlit and is a problem only in a dimly lit room--solved by turning a light on.

3. The clear plastic covering the LED readouts is recessed slightly from the body of the scales. Flour, spices, and liquids could get on the clear cover and in the corners, creating an annoyance and the necessity of occasionally cleaning the recessed edges. The solution I found was to put a strip of clear packing tape over the whole lens area, flush with the scale body and not pushing the tape down onto the clear plastic. Cleaning is now a simple wipe.

3. The auto-turn-off period after registering a weight or momentarily tapping the weighing platform was within seconds of the three minutes specified, and differed between scales only slightly. This lag between registering a weight and auto turnoff is extremely important; do not buy any scale that does not have such a lag or does not specify a similar or longer lag time!

4. For light weights and for a five pound weight they each gave the same accurate results. A nickel (US) is 5 grams even, and can be used as a test of your sample's accuracy, Use one, then use ten, for 5 and 50 grams, and more if you wish. Regardless of WHERE on the platform I placed a stack of ten nickels, the weight registered the same for both scales.

5. Contrary to one popular review of the Ozeri: a) The scale in fact turns off very easily: CLICK THE TARE BUTTON ONCE TO GET THE SCALE TO READ ZERO, THEN CLICK IT AGAIN TO TURN IT OFF! I confess it took me a month or so of using the scale before that pattern occurred to me. b) Treat the scale reasonably and it will last a long time. My Eatsmart version is still going strong.

6. The 5 1/8" diameter platform is sufficient for most uses, but when using a dinner plate to expand the platform size (taring out the plate's weight) I have to lower my head somewhat to "get at" the reading, because the edge of the plate hides the readout, preventing a reading from directly overhead. A larger diameter platform scale at times would be nice, but such would present a problem for convenient cabinet storage. Using a bowl instead of a dinner plate makes the readout easier for large volumes or weights.

7. The scales measure grams in one gram units, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. It measures ounces in units of .05 ounce (1/20 oz.), i.e. .05, 1.0, .15, .20 etc. Pounds are measured in units of .002 pounds. This is as much precision as you could possibly need in a kitchen.

8. The scales work fine with rechargeable batteries. Battery life is reasonable, regardless of the type of AAA battery you use.

9. Both scales came with a book of calorie equivalents.

10. I appreciate the large buttons and the reassuring audible click when they are depressed. Small point, perhaps, but that's how I feel about them.

11. Just the platform and buttons have a chromed finish on plastic. The "chrome" is not hard metal, though the pictures might lead one to think it is.

Things I've learned that you may find useful, though not relevant to any particular scale:

Using a scale guarantees me a consistent cup of coffee. Measuring coffee by volume can be deceptive, depending on the type of grind and type of roast. If kids argue over who is getting the bigger portions of a particular dish, give 'em the scale and let THEM adjust the quantities for "fairness"!* I've found that standardizing on a cup of flour of 4.8 oz works best with most recipes. If you measure by the level cup, you'll find that a "cup" can equal from 4.3 to as much as 5.4 ounces. 2 grams of loose tea equates with most teabags and the cruder measure of one teaspoon, commonly suggested for one to two cups of tea.

*OR, let the complaining child divvy up the food in equal portions, but the non-complainers get to pick before the complainer!

All I needed was an inexpensive kitchen scale that wasnt complicated to use. Once you get old, it seems that the most mundane things have gotten increasingly more complicated to use. This scale fit the bill and it did not dissapoint. Its a very simple scale that does what it does best. Its very accurate and consisten for its size and tare function isnt difficult to use. If all you're looking for is a nice simple scale to use, this is the one.

Best Deals for Ozeri Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scale, 1g to 12 lbs Capacity

Last July I purchased an Ozeri ZK12 from Amazon. During the first week of December the unit failed and would not function at all. Up until this point it worked perfectly. I contacted Ozeri customer service and received a response within a day or two. They said they would replace the unit with a new unit at no charge. All I had to do was provide them with my Amazon order number, which I did. A new unit arrived about 2 weeks later and is working as intended. I am very pleased with the unit and the quick, hassel-free response from the vendor.

Honest reviews on Ozeri Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scale, 1g to 12 lbs Capacity

This is a great kitchen scale. I have to weigh a lot of meat for homemade sausage. I've never had a scale that would weigh more than about three pounds of kitchen ingredients, so I'm really happy with this scale. I've weighed over ten pounds of meat (plus about a pound of tare for the bowl). That's probably the most I can fit in a steel kitchen bowl without the bowl getting wobbly and tippy. The scale is actually sensitive enough that the numbers start to fluctuate as the bowl gets unbalanced.

____________________________

I LOVE:

* I bought this on sale ($12), so I love the price.

* I love the simple means of zeroing out the tare. You can either put your bowl on the scale before you turn it on and it will subtract the weight of the bowl to start at zero pounds, or you can turn it on, place the bowl on the scale, and press the on/off/tare button to zero it out.

* It's simple to cycle through the units of measure: gram, kilo, ounce, or pound. Very cool!

* I don't know if it does this for every unit of measure, but when weighing pounds, the readout is precise to three (or maybe four--I forget) decimal places. That's almost too much information, but it shows me when the tare is off and shows me when the bowl is unbalanced and rocking.

____________________________

I DON'T LOVE:

* The picture makes it look like the base is brushed metal. It's not. It's very flimsy plastic. I doubt it will last more than a few years.

* It's hard to turn it off. I guess you're supposed to just leave it on and let it turn itself off. This leads to my next gripe.

* If it automatically times out and shuts itself off, you have to dump out all of your ingredients and start over. This happened twice while I was trimming meat. I dropped the finished meat in the bowl as I trimmed it. But if I waited too long it would timeout and turn itself off. If I turned it back on, it would assume that the whole bowl of meat was tare and zero out. So I had to dump out all the meat and reset the tare. After this happened twice, I just bounced the bowl occasionally if I hadn't dropped anything in recently.

I know a kitchen scale isn't much to get excited about, but I really like this one. I'm just sad that I know it won't last very long.

This is definitely a great scale! Measures in grams, kg, ounces, and pounds. Very accurate and easy to use. If you use your own bowl/plate to measure food out, all you have to do is set it on there, press the on/off button once and it sets it back to zero. I use it to weigh my food with the HCG diet and it works perfect! Would definitely recommend!

This vertical roaster creates a perfect chicken every time! While the chicken rests before slicing, strain the pan juices from the center cup and reduce by 1/2 to 3/4 in a sauce pan. I ordered this hot pot to replace the Proctor Silex K2070 1-Quart Automatic electric kettle I had bought a couple of months ago because I discovered that the kettle was not designed for liquids other than water, and I had expected to be able to reheat all sorts of beverages or soups and keep them warm. The little kettle is perfect -just as efficient as the automatic kettle, but without the limitations. I plugged it into a heavy duty grounded power strip with a illuminated on-off switch. That solves the problem with the lacking switch other reviewers noted. Obviously, it should not be left unattended, since there is no automatic shutoff.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I've been using this for a little over a week, and while it does rapidly bring water to a boil, the temperature control is useless. It boils water on even the lowest setting, which is not what I am looking for when making coffee with my Aeropress which calls for a temp between 175-185 degrees. If all you need to do is boil water cheaply and quickly, this would do the job, otherwise pass on this.

Best Deals for Proctor Silex 32oz Hot pot

Having used virtually every brand of Hot Pot manufactured in the past 20 years I never expected to encounter such a flawed product. The temp control malfunction was mentioned in numerous reviews.

Instead of temp setting dots which increase in size/diameter, from small (warm) to large (boil), there should be question marks. I cannot fathom how any manufacturer could put such a faulty design on the market. You MIGHT be able to tolerate this thing IF the only chore is boiling water, but as mentioned in one review you risk a scalding burn since it may erupt/bubble like a unpredictable volcano.

The video illustrates the unpredictable manner the temp control functions. The hot pot goes into FULL heating mode on the lowest setting. This is UNACCEPTABLE, particularly if you are attempting to warm up soup (or anything but water) since it will immediately scorch the contents. This item might be acceptable as a $1 garage sale purchase but certainly not $14. If the ONLY substance you intend to heat is water you could find it tolerable.

Honest reviews on Proctor Silex 32oz Hot pot

This robust hot pot concentrates on bringing water to a rolling boil with single-minded focus like a Zen master. Little bubbles sizzle at the wide bottom within seconds. A rolling boil surges two minutes twenty seconds later for a typical sixteen ounce load, half of the ample capacity. Never mind the absence of an on-off switch; fewer moving parts mean less cost and longer life; my unit has been used reliably many times a day for more than a year. Never mind the tight-fitting lid; stow the superfluous lid in a drawer; nothing splashes out due to the large capacity and an uncovered pot can be monitored better. While the pot concentrates on the water, you concentrate on the pot or else just listen to its progress. Never mind the short cord; the entire assembly including the cord can be lifted up and poured out safely without risk of tangling with anything else on a crowded counter. Never mind the initial indifference to temperature settings; this is not a timid servant but rather a bold agent asserting manly control. The hot pot seems to have built-in thermal overload protection which kicks in after reaching a boil if the dial is set on simmer; on the one occasion when I forgot the pot and came back after half an hour, it had not boiled dry. Instead, it recovered fully without permanent damage. I have experimented with boiling Ramen noodles in it or soup or coffee grounds or tea leaves with success but prefer to reserve it for water only to keep it clean even though it is easy to rinse out. This hot pot is better than a microwave for boiling water for more flavorful drinks because a microwave does not raise all of the water to a high uniform temperature.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Proctor Silex 32oz Hot pot

This water heater is a good, quick heater but it boils even on the lowest setting...which it should NOT do. It should SIMMER on the lowest setting.

It holds a decent amount of water compared to other hot-pots I've had.

The worse thing about it is the LID. There is no easy way to remove it! The "recessed hole" provided does NOT work to remove the lid.

The only way I've found to get it off is to slide my fingernails between the lid and the body of the pot and pull up.

If I had a choice, I would have picked a different pot ! Its a big hassle to box it up and send it back...especially since I bought TWO. One for me and one for my husband.

As a professional chef I run across all sorts of products that are supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread. However, this pan just so happens to be the next best thing, and I picked it up at my local Le Gourmet Chef in Hagerstown, MD.

Simply put the ultra smooth non-stick surface is smoother than glass; thus cooking requires little if no oil and clean up is a breeze with a simple rinse and wipe. As long as you stay away from aerosol sprays you will have an enjoyable experience with this cookware or any cookware for that matter. If you must spray in your oil then I suggest you buy an oil mister because spraying from a can simply adds residue that ruins pans and takes away from the flavor of your food after buildup occurs. The best feature for all you home chefs is that this pan is 100% DISHWASHER SAFE! It's also oven safe to 500 degrees.

The clear glass cover rounds out the entire package deal and is equally easy to clean. It's nice to be able to cover your pan while cooking and still see what is happening inside without lifting the lid and loosing heat or worse causing a steam burn. Last but not least, the cookware is guaranteed for life, so what are you waiting for, go get one and start something new and exciting in the kitchen!

The difference between my old nonstick cookware (Culinary Essentials brand purchased at Costco over 10 years ago) and this Calphalon Unison cookware is like night and day. The food cooks evenly and absolutely does not stick. The pan is weighty without being too heavy and the handles stay cool. The glass lids are also nice. This Unison cookware is one of the few choices that is dishwasher safe and guaranteed for life, a selling point for me. So far, though, I've hand washed it. A few seconds is all it takes to come clean.

Best Deals for Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12" Omelette Pan & Cover

I don't know if I just received a bad item, or if the other reviewers treat their pans like crystal, but mine developed lots of scratches (some rather deep) after only one use. I followed all the instructions for what to do before the first use, and I only used plastic utensils. I was stunned the cheap pans from Walmart didn't get scratches that fast. I had to return it.

Honest reviews on Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12" Omelette Pan & Cover

Bottom of pan is not perfectly flat so it is useless for

a glass stove top. It cooked beautifully the first

few times but the bottom became uneven very quickly.

No. I did not use high heat.

Probably OK for a gas stove but a definite NO for

electric smooth top.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12" Omelette Pan & Cover

I'm afraid I have to agree with others who have had bad experiences with these pans. Calphalon sent me one of these as a replacement for a Calphalon One Nonstick (what they previously called this line, which, before that, was called Commercial Nonstick) that didn't hold up well in heavy use, but not abuse.

I was shocked to see imperfections in the surface right out of the box, but figured if they were only cosmetic, I'd put up with it (though this never happened with Calphalon "back in the day"). But the nonstick surface has been scratching off when used with soft plastic utensils at medium-low heat.

Maybe there's a lot of variation in quality, now, but these pans (now made in China) are not what they used to be. Not even close. And if you get a bad one, it's really junk! Not remotely the quality that I used to associate with Calphalon.

If they keep replacing every bad pan, they may be able to keep some customers coming back for more, but they'll eventually go out of business. How does the higher profit (bottom line) of low labor cost hold up when the revenue (top line) dries up? Calphalon isn't the only American company making this mistake. The problem is not *who* or *where* the product is being manufactured, it's the level of quality that the company is not getting, but *could* if they were willing to pay for it (I know for a fact that there are outstanding facilities in China that make products that are just as good as products made anywhere else at any cost). This greedy drive for profit will backfire, and we'll all be the worse for it.

Sad to say, I don't buy or recommend Calphalon anymore. I don't know if they really deserve only one star, but I felt it was important to bring the average down as a warning to others.
