I was given this pan as a gift. I love the pan and use it all the time. The only problem is the lid. The silicone ring around the lid retains the smell of whatever you cook in the pan. I can't get rid of the smell and I smell it every time I open the cabinet where I store the pan. I can't find any where on line to ask about it or a web site that would help.

I have a big family, with big-eating teen boys, and I use my pots and pans daily. I honestly had wanted to purchase the Cephalon set, but just couldn't afford it. I saw this set loved the red color and purchased it as a "second choice" boy am I glad I did! The biggest frypan is used at least twice a day without fail! They all still look nearly as good as the day I bought them about two years ago the nonstick coating is still perfect and works beautifully. We handwash them there's never room in the d/w for pans anyway and literally I never even put the fry pan away, just turn it upside down on the stovetop. They cook so evenly, never scorch, and even when I overcooked the rice one night it just browned inside and literally wiped out with a paper towel.

I received this pots and pans as a birthday present to go in to my newly remodeled kitchen. I love the red color! I have arthritis so I really liked the weight of the pots and pans and the handles were easy to hold. They are light without feeling flimsy. They cook like a dream with no sticking.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have this set of KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware and a set of KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware and the latter is definitely worth the extra money. When I created this review the KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware was selling for $150 and the set of KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware was selling for $178, so my criticisms are based on the savings of only $28. I would not pay more than $125 for the KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware Set.

This set KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware is MUCH thinner and lighter weight, the heat distribution and retention is less impressive than the Gourmet Anodized set. These pans are so light I would only recommend them over the Gourmet Anodized set if you have mobility issues and are purposely seeking to fill a need for lightweight cookware.

All the pot sizes are smaller and less useful and the handles are not as good as the Gourmet Anodized. You do not get an 8 quart pot for cooking pasta, the squat 6 quart pot that comes in this set is smaller than I like to cook spaghetti, but will make a good soup pot. You do not get a fry pan you can cook more than 3 eggs in, so you will probably need to purchase an additional fry pan of larger size. If you have a lot of big pots already, this set may be a good filler set to have smaller pans to choose from.

The red color of this set is a very dark brick color, darker than the photo even, so if someone is wanting a true red this is not a good choice esthetically. I think the KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware set is better designed and more attractive with its Windsor shaped sides; the narrower bases look nice and allow better fit on smaller stovetops without compromising on size. The KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware does not come in colors, but if I have to choose between matching decor and function, I would choose function.

All that said, this KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware set is much better than the starter sets you see in Bed Bath & Beyond for $75-$100. So if someone you know has one of those cheaper-made cookware sets on their wish list, spend the extra money on this set and really delight them. If you are looking for pans to last a couple decades, spring for the KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware, I bought the additional two-burner griddle and it is GREAT too.

I was really excited to receive this new cookware when I ordered it online. the colors are really nice, red is my fave color and frying is not that hard anymore. when I fried some egg rolls and fish, it is evenly cook and so i am guessing that the heat is evenly distrubuted in the entire frying pan. i think the price is in the right range. i hope this would last 5-10 years, its predecessor lasted for almost 10years :)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a nice-looking set. The lids all fit snugly and I particularly like the silicone on the lid and pan handles.

These are lighter weight than my hard-anodized Circulon pans and way lighter, of course, than cast iron. Also, note that this set doesn't include any really large pots or pans. I immediately thought that this set would be well-suited to an older person with diminished hand/arm strength and a smaller household.

Inside the box there is a special disclosure about care and use issues. One of the warnings is directed toward people who have glass-top ranges (as I do). The warning says you should never allow a pot or pan to boil dry on a glass-top range, as that can result in the pan fusing to the cooktop. I vividly recall my mother-in-law allowing a kettle to boil dry on my old electric cooktop and that happened, so I was not surprised or disturbed by the warning. I can manage to avoid something like that happening again.

But the disclosure document went on to say that a pot or pan could fuse to the cooktop if you move a hot pot/pan to an unheated part of the cooktop. Well, that happens all the time at my house. When we finish cooking something, we just move the pot or pan over to one of the turned-off burners on the other side of the cooktop. I know we won't consistently remember not to do that, so it certainly gave me pause. We did some research about the issue and found some reports of people who said they hadn't had any fusion problems, so it's probably just one of those excess-of-caution warnings, but it's something that a potential buyer should be aware of and take into account before making a buying decision.

Really a good price and a well built kettle...HOWEVER, the handle is not well designed. You may have to tighten the phillips head screw occasionally. Don't overfill. (A fill line is imprinted on the outside.) The whistle is loud, the quality is good. BUT watch that handle.

NOTE: Having used this kettle for 5 months, my impression of it improves. Solid and (with the caveat about the handle) durable. One of those products where 'Made In China' exceeds expectations. I'd buy it again!

I had been using an electric water warmer I had inherited from a former room mate but it seemed to reduce the heat applied to the water as soon as it reached the boiling point. I decided it would be better to have one I can put on the oven burner and keep it as hot as I like, and not have to worry about what a thermostat wants to do. I bought this tea kettle off the shelf while shopping at my local supermarket, thinking it would do and I liked the idea of having a whistle to indicate the water was ready. I was saddened to find that it never actually attained a whistle because so much steam was escaping around the fill hole lid on the top center portion, which happens to be also right where you need to put your hand in order to pick it up, a rather scary thought. So, I am contemplating returning it because I don't see myself wanting to ever use it, considering these less than desirable attributes.

As someone else said (and I should have listened), the design while very attractive, is not ergonomically comfortable to use. It's too tall for the way the handle and spout opener are designed. It's just not balanced properly.

The whistle is loud that's a plus and as I said, it is attractive, but since it's hard to use, I am probably sending it back.

I would give this a zero if I could. Although it appears to be well made and performed wonderfully at first, I wound up with a batch of chowder (cooked at med-low heat) burned/melded to the bottom of a two-month-old pot. It was impossible to remove. After trying a number of cleaning products, I contacted the manufacturer. They told me "some" of these were defective. Right. As if they didn't know this when they made it available at a greatly reduced price. Not surprisingly, Caphalon has shifted manufacturing to China. Yet another crappy, potentially dangerous product by a formerly reputable company. I won't be buying from Caphalon again.

We recently replaced our non-stick electric griddle with this Lava cast iron dual grill/griddle. We use it on a ceramic stovetop across two burners and it works great!

Our family uses it for everything from pancakes and eggs to steak and pork chops. I also love to cook all of our veggies on it! If you are not familiar with usinf cast-iron, it cleans up very easy. The heat distribution is great; it cooks food very fast.

If you are trying to get away from non-stick, cast iron is great.

To be honest, I only bought it because the price was great considering how many pieces you're getting. I never expected that the quality would be so great. Thick high-grade steel, terrific heat conductivity (it heats up fast and even), handles don't get warm for a very long time, the sizes are perfect. Get this set it doesn't look like much, but will prove to be a pleasant surprise!

This set looks cheap and, yes, certain aspects of it are, but it actually cooks pretty well. The lids and sides are thin but the bottoms are thick and heavy; 9mm. The bottom is where all the heat goes, so this set is actually well made (it's fortified where it needs to be). I'm not sure if they are encapsulated, but they do disperse heat evenly. The interior of the pots is, for the most part, smooth. Some of the handles have been welded a bit too hot and just slightly warped the interior, but this hasn't affected cooking or cleaning. The set has a mirror finish inside and out, with the exception of the fry pan, which is Teflon lined. It's worth noting that the mirror finish is only a coating, so clean with a synthetic scrubber only. Don't use steel wool. The mirror finish will also show water spots if you don't towel dry or use a good dishwashing detergent. The bottoms have a brushed texture. The lids seat snugly. The short handles do get hot, but as for the long handles, they rarely get hot when cooking with less-than-extreme heat. Although there is no information or recommendation as to whether this set can be used in an oven, I have baked with the big pot and it withstood 350 degrees. The fry pan is the bad apple, though. It's Teflon coating is a bit rough and doesn't give award-winning non-stick performance. You'll still need to lightly oil it. Overall, this set has a handsome "campground" look and feel, but performs like a home kitchen set.

I have used All-Clad since the early 1980's and consider it the very best, and best for the money, too, as it lasts forever, the company will simply replace any that you complain about (the LTD black surface wore off some after 15 years, which is why I switched to the stainless steel outside and inside and some copper outside versions (Copper Chef, by All-Clad Co.) and they sent a new one!). I have boiled over milk on high and it never scorched! The bottom of the pan was not even tan, much less any burned milk! That was a first for any pan for me! The Olympic Cooking Team uses these pans, by the way. And they look good on a rack, too.

I am very pleased with my set of All-Clad stainless cookware. The construction is superior to any other set I have ever owned. One of the nice things about the cookware is how cool the handles stay after being on the burner for an extended period of time. I was really surprised by that. I figured that since the handles were stainless steel they would get really hot but that is not the case. I have also found that the cookware heats up much more evenly than my old cookware. That really does help to reduce cooking time. While it may seem a bit pricey, this set should last many years if taken care of. My Mom always told me to buy the best quality item that I could and it will save money in the long run. She was right.....as usual. :-) If you love to cook you will enjoy this set.

In light of recurring news articles discussing the carcinogenic potential of Teflon, my husband and I decided to replace our current cookware. The set we had was in good shape minus a few scratches here and there. If you pay attention, however, these "minor scratches" honestly translate to a metallic aftertaste in the food, especially with boiled foods.

Anyway, after a long and hard discussion, we decided to purchase this set, specifically with the nonstick pan, since we'd be doing a lot of pan-frying. I have absolutely no complaints about this cookware. It is beautiful, sturdy, elegant, and is truly the way to go for healthy, gourmet cooking. It is expensive, but as other reviews have stated, it lasts the long haul.

The All-clad Stainless cookware set is the best cookware set ever. I have only had my set for about 3 months and the way the aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it throughout the pots and pans has actually made my meals come out so much better. I was actually able to fry 4 eggs over easy is the same pan and they all cook evenly and were done at the same time. My old pan was always hotter on one side so the eggs were all done and ready at different times. Not good when you have family or friends to feed and you have to pick who gets to eat first.

If you are thinking about going to All-Clad stop thinking and do it. I was hesitant becasue of the price and a few negative reviews that I read but most the negative reviews were because the people were not cooking properly and they were upset because they ruined a very expensive piece of cookware which I understand but they would have ruined any cookware they were using doing the same thing. Pre-heating your pan before you put the food in it is very important. Also knowing your stove and what cooking on medium heat means also helps. The other complaint was about discoloration. I have made salsa which was very acidic, had it sitting it the pan for hours while I was canning it. I have also made a lot of salty meals. No dicoloration here.

I wish I would have purchased these pans before purchasing our new glass top range. My wife would have liked the range immediately if she had these pans. Our old set was stainless steel but thin and not magnetic. Although the old pans had copper it is only in the bottoms. Also, there are little imperfections on the bottom of the cheaper pans that marred the glass top, seemingly permanently. The All-Clad pans heat faster and at a lower setting. More than that the low boil bubbles form a perfect ring off the bottom of the pan--the old pans only produced bubbles on one side of the pan until it was a rolling boil. We couldn't be happier. They even clean up well, if you soak the baked on stuff for a while first. The long handles do require a bit more space and some strategic planning for storing.

Having owned one of these pressure cookers I can say from first hand experience they are top of the line. My family has used the same pressure cooker now on almost a daily basis for 5+ years. Yes that is an almost daily basis (usually it gets used 5-6 times or more a week). The cooker is still in GREAT shape. We have replaced the gasket once and that is it. The cooker is extremely well crafted with thick aluminum that reminds me of high end cookware like Calphalon, Analon etc. Honestly, you can't get much better than this. PERIOD! It heats well, cleans EASILY and exudes quality.

I have this cooker and I love it. I use it very often 4 or 5 times a week and it has served me quite well. I have had other pressure cookers too and I think this is easier to clean and cooks faster as well.

I read several people have issues with closing the lid. I made a very short video to help them. Doing it this way, you can even avoid dipping the lid in the food being cooked.

Another problem that many people have mentioned is that the steam whistle is loud, or that the steam whistle also emits some of the food being cooked and makes a mess.

To avoid the steam whistle, try this:

1. For the first few minutes, set the heat on the highest setting till the water starts boiling and there is steam coming out of the lid.

2. After that, lower the flame to a low setting this will make sure that the pressure is building up, but not so high that steam needs to get out of the cooker.

I use the timer to monitor the cooking time vary this according to how much you are cooking. I have had soaked chickpeas (2 cups before soaking) cooked to perfection within 17 minutes in total.

I use timers on my stove and this method has worked very well, with minimal attention to be paid to the cooker.

I was looking for a small pressure cooker that could be used for camping or for making smaller quantities of food at home. This was the smallest I could find and I'm totally pleased with the quality and the price.

I don't think I would backpack with it, but it's ideal for canoe camping or car camping. I'll be using it at home most of the time because it's just the right size for making a quick meal of lentils or rice.

The handle does take up space. That's unfortunate for travelers and those with small kitchens. I would have preferred a design that had small grips on either side of the cooker.

Its too small for most published pressure cooker recipes. Too many authors assume that everyone cooks for a large group. If you do cook for groups, consider something larger. This cooker is ideal for the rest of us.

Plastic. For those of you trying to avoid it touching your coffee, I have done you some legwork! I called the manufacturer before ordering this product and they claimed there was no plastic on the plunger. Well, this is technically true as all plunging parts are stainless steel, but the lid liner which comes down over the spout and has an additional, unnecessary screen IS plastic. The good news is all you have to do is unscrew the top ball, take the lid off and pull out the whole plastic piece. Then reassemble and you have a TRULY plastic-free pot! For others who are saying it is hard to clean, like all french presses, you must unscrew the bottom portion of the plunger and run water over all the screens. After it is dry, reassemble. It is simple and not a big deal. I can't imagine trying to clean it altogether! And for others still who say it isn't a thermos, well, is that what you expected? This item keeps the coffee hot for about an hour. It's biggest plus is that it won't crack like the glass ones. If you are sick of breaking and replacing the glass carafes in your other french presses and you don't want plastic, this is a great little pot. I made my first pot of coffee in it this morning after removing the plastic top and it worked great, just like the one I bought in Italy 2 years ago for $30 more (still using that one, it is for my husband, and now, after breaking yet another glass one, I bought this one for me.)

I purchased this in January 2012... quite excited to have a french press that was insulated and that I expected to last. Just this week (at less than 4 months old) the handle fell off. Thank goodness it was not full of hot coffee!

I purchased this French Press less than (5) months ago, and have followed the 'care instructions' to a 'T', but this didn't keep the handle weld from failing! Although both welds pulled away from the body of the carafe, the bottom weld came completely off as I was taking it from the counter to the table. My 1 y/o niece was under-foot at the time (aren't little ones always under-foot?) but the sudden break of the handle's weld cause piping hot coffee to spill on her!

For the price I paid, I would expect more than (5) months use!

Bought this as a replacement for a "Starbucks" brand press and couldn't be happier. Unlike our previous insulated french press, this one has virtually no plastic and does not have any rubber pads. This means throwing it in the dishwasher is not a problem. Durability is excellent...like the all metal construction of the press the "close" feature prevents bitter over brewing. Keeps coffee hot for 30 minutes and warm for an hour.

This tagine is far better that I had hoped it would be. It seems to handle high temperature cooking wonderfully, which is not always the case with tagines. Clean up is super easy and it is a lot of fun to cook with because it can go from stove top to oven. I wish I had gotten an extra large instead of a large though. If you are planning on cooking for four people or more I would recommend the extra large.

I became interested in tagines (the food) while going through one of my cook books trying to find something "good" to make for dinner. The tagine is a very flavorful stew type dish that is simmered slowly in a tagine (the vessel). The end result is meat/beans etc. that melt in your mouth. The seller described the clay vessel as made in Morocco by hand as it has been for years. It is beautiful to look at and does an amazing job of cooking tagines. This item was the first tagine I had ever purchased so I was little sceptical about putting it directly on top of my glass cooktop. However, the functionality was as described. The vessel browns food nicely and clean-up is easy. Because it is made by hand the appearance is not perfect but for me, the small imperfections add character and uniqueness. One thing to note is that seasoning the vessel requires several hours of submersion in water and then several more hours in an oven so don't expect that once it arrives you can open the box and use immediately. One other thing to consider is that the small one is not large enough to prepare food for six. If you are planning on cooking for more than four I would suggest the larger size.

I found out that it is an authentically made tagine from Morocco (great) but not suitable for a gas stove (oops). You will need a diffuser or some large metal plate if you want to use this on a gas stove.

Tagines are simply one-pot cooking on a stove. This tagine cooks very well but is a bit small for a family of 5 you can't fit all the ingredients into it for a meal that large and that's why I gave it 3 stars. Other than that, I recommend it.

5.5 Qt Dutch Oven is pretty large if you are single and you don't cook for a family. But if you cook in large sizes for the whole weeks meal like me, it is very useful.

Various sizes of sauce pots are very useful for many jobs. If you need to boil some pasta or veggies for a single meal smallest one is enough. Or you can use larger ones for any other cooking.

Non-stick pans with thermo-spot are great. Set has one small and one considerably large pans. I usually use the smallest one for scrambled eggs, or making a burger, or cooking some chicken. You can use the saucepot lids to cover it. It wont fit perfectly but it will do the job. However there is no lid, for the largest pan, which is bad I think. But I get used to it.

Interior for the pans are non-stick and they are stainless steel on outside. Pots are all stainless steel.

Handles are pretty cheap, they are soft plastic, but I didn't burned my hands so far. They will block the heat, however handles on lids are not that good, and if you dont hold them properly, you might get some burns.

They come with a slotted spatula, and huge cooking spoon, they are stainless steel but pretty big ones.

Bottom paddings are good, they are not cheaply made.

When compared to cheap non-stick ones this set might be expensive, but they are very useful.

This is the best set I have ever had...and certainly not close to the most expensive! It really is like the cookware designer sat down with me and asked me what features I would like. Stainless steel pots, nice stainless steel/non-stick pans, glass lids, cool to touch silicone covered handles, large easy to handle cool to touch silicone covered lid handles. I really couldn't ask for more...super happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend :)

This sandwich maker works great! I use precooked bacon from Costco, and two sandwiches are ready in less than 3 minutes. Everyone is happy. I only wish they'd make a 4-egg one so the whole family could eat at once. You can put cheese on top of the eggs as they cook so it's nicely melted. This pan does take a little bit of attention to clean, but nothing too strenuous. Spray the egg cups and lifters with Pam first and the leftover egg comes off very easily. And a piece of paper towel would keep the bacon from making such a mess. I recommend this to all fans of breakfast.

I like the results, but cleanup is a pain. Bacon tray gets burned bacon grease on the bottom and requires good scrubbing with a stiff brush. The egg "picker upper" plastic pieces get egg white cooked onto the bottom of them and must be scraped off with a knife or other edge when cleaning.

Does well in the cooking department, but cleaning afterward is NOT FUN.

I bought one at Target on an impulse because I was hungry for an egg mcmuffin but don't trust McDonald's.

I just tried it and liked it so much I ordered two more here for gifts.

It makes two. One egg, one lean piece of Canadian Bacon and one English Muffin with no butter or grease and I think it qualifies as healthy! The best Canadian Bacon for this comes from Costco. Have fun.

I don't often write reviews but I love this thing. I learned the hard way that my microwave doesn't like this on full power. Exploding eggs! Also, I lightly scramble the eggs (or use egg beaters) so that they cook more evenly. Spray lightly with PAM, cook on half power for 3 minutes (2 minutes for 1 egg), and voila! Awesome. Also I use Morningstar veggie patties instead of real meat. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

The wife bought it so I decided I wouldn't like it. She showed me how to use after 5 days of my pouting in the kitchen because it wouldn't work right. After I followed her wonderful instructions I am a master of poached eggs. So easy to use. If you are too stubborn to read the directions, call my wife and she will set you straight.

It will work fine. The construction is a little cheap (feels flimsy) but it was very cheap so you get what you pay for. Note that the red grippy part is not rubber (I thought it was) but a hard plastic.

It's a pair of tongs. The plastic ends staying on to grab the food with is kinda critical to performing its function. We've owned it for about 3 weeks now and in that time one of the ends has fallen off. Completely useless as a tool now. Useless.

Sure they are just tongs. But the first time I used them, one of the nylon heads popped off. Very first time.. and of course it was while I was holding a chicken breast, which was sacrificed to the dog.
