I love this splatter screen. I have gone through at least a dozen different splatter screens in all price ranges and this is the best. I have mostly All-Clad pots and pans and this is perfect for the larger pans. It fits snugly, does not raise up on the side when heated and is easy to store. Now I want one for my smaller wok and frying pan!

The good All-Clad manufacturing quality cannot be questioned. However the idea to design the handle to bend the over the food was a mistake

(in my opinion). I have used the straight handle version of this screen and love it!!! I would straighten the handle on this model if I could bend it back. It looks very stylish,

but gets hot from the steam coming from my spaghetti sauce.

The screen is a heavy duty screen, just what I wanted. But the handle sits at an angle... If you set the screen on the counter the handle is up off the counter by a few inches. So plan on having a place to put it with this in mind...

I love this splatter screen! I love the handle and the small holes that keep the grease from splattering (which is its job). Also love the lip around the edge that keeps it from sliding off the pan. I have not used it on a small frying pan because of it's size. Good for a average/reg. size frying pans.

Le Creuset Mini Cocotte Sets Reviews

I was expecting these to be a set of the Le Creuset mini-cocottes that are sold individually by Amazon (and Williams-Sonoma, Sur la table, etc.), but that's not what they are. Those are made of the usual Le Creuset enameled cast iron...this set is made of stoneware, just pottery.

It didn't say in the product description that these were stoneware, and I assumed they were cast-iron because their other mini-cocottes are cast-iron. That said, I probably should have guessed based on the price. I thought I was getting a deal with 4 cast-iron ones for $80; not such a deal when they're light-weight pottery instead.

Anyway, I may still keep them; haven't decided. They're very cute and I'm sure they'll bake well, but I think they're probably overpriced.

i got these at sur la table in charlotte, nc... before they even hit the floor. they come in a great little box for storage and include a recipe book... haven't tried a recipe in it yet, but it looks pretty good from the start. my only complaint is that you can tell the recipe book is translated from french. they opted to stress style in the layout, so they don't always give explicit instructions and assume you know how to cook. I do, and I think anyone who'd spend 20 bucks per mini cocotte would, too.

they're not a must-have kitchen item... but they sure will leave an impression on dinner guests.

This is a beautiful little set of cocottes, and I love the color.

I got a box of Les Plats du Chef's individually wrapped pre-made frozen French onion soup from Costco, unwrapped them,

put one in each cocotte sans the lid, and cooked them in the stove within a larger container to avoid spill-over problems,

and the result was great. Ready-to-serve-French onion soup in beautiful little containers with almost no work at all!

Then I served the Caribbean blue cocottes on plates of contrasting blue, and the presentation was very pretty.

The accompanying book is nice, but quite small, and features colors of cocottes that are no longer available.

If anyone knows of another such book, it would be good to know about it.

Over-all, a great buy. Expensive, but Stuab's cocottes are even more so, though they are made from other materials

and feature other colors. Both are good for different reasons, but I like LeCreuset's design better.

Cheaper ones are available and nice, but are more likely to break over time. These are very sturdy.

These gorgeous little cocottes are so stunning when being served to guests.

I have made many entrees and deserts in them and they always turn out perfectly. Scallops Mornay is my favourite. The size is perfect for these dishes, but maybe could be larger for a soup. (You need to buy the 12 ounce ones)

I knew that they were not cast iron and I don't think they are hard to confuse with other products.

The cook book is beautiful and full of great recipes.

I absolutely recommend these lovely dishes.

We just returned from France where we bought the French version of this cookbook. It contains about 39 recipes. The "free" US version has only 25. The FR version sells for ten euros. Much better. Why did LC decide to cheapen the "free" version for the US crowd? There is certainly no shortage of translators.

Anyone who enjoys cocotte cooking might enjoy the whole book even if it needs translation. The translations are simple and fun.

As for the Made in China complaint: Ipads and most of the other stuff we use every day are made in China. The cocotte quality is excellent once you get past the xenophobia of the earlier gripe. These are great little cocottes. They heat up faster than the metal ones and are vastly less expensive for the same job unless you need to use direct heat.

We bought one set to try them. We now have three sets of cocottes and two extra Americanized cookbooks to give away.

I saw a similar product in a gourmet kitchen supply catalog but had trouble justifying the $50 price tag. This version is less than half the cost and accomplishes the same task.

Looking for some new food to grill? I own 2 of these 11" saute pans which became defective after 1-2 years moderate use.

On 11/15/12 I called Scanpan and described the issues i was having with mine. The representive named Allen told me about Scanpan's lifetime warranty. Allen was completely confident that these issues had qualified me to receive new replacement pans. These pans are expensive compared to other leading manufactures of non-stick cookware, so I was glad that the company would replace them.

I followed Allen's instructions on how to send them in, obtaining a return authorization, packing and shipping the pans in to the address provided though at my cost.

A few weeks went by and i did not receive anything from Scanpan not even a phone call or email updating me on the status.

So i called on 12/4/12 and spoke to Michael, who informed me that my pans do not qualify and i will have to pay to have them sent back to me. Upon asking to speak to a supervisor Michael told me that he is the only one in this department and it is his call as to everything that goes on there.

This is terrible customer service and even after telling Michael that Scanpan just lost a customer he didn't care and didn't do anything to attempt to resolve this issue. I am very upset, not only am i being told that my pans do not qualify according to 1 grumpy representative, but i am also being told that i must pay for getting them back. What kind of company is this?

I called Allen, whose idea it was for me to go through this in the first place, and relayed the situation. After a week of phone calls back and forth, all he did was ship my pans back to me.

This was a huge waste of my time and resources and, needless to say i am not interested in their overpriced under performing products anymore.

Scanpan Professional Covered Saute Pan 12.5-Inch by 3.5 QT.

Over priced.

It's very good when it's about six-month new. After that, it just a regular pan and starts to stick.

I bought two in the past four years. The first lasted for about one year just for the regular usage, such as sauting vegetables, frying eggs.

Then last year, I purchased another one. That one just served me good for six month, then started to stick.

With the $200 bucks, I I should buy TEN regular non-stick pans that should serve me much longer.

I called the US office at California but they refused to send me the replacement (the product carries LIFE-TIME warranty).

Having tried Calphalon, Lodge cast iron and All-Clad pans, in addition to many lesser varieties, this is my favorite pan. Not too heavy, excellent heat distribution, comfortable handle, cleans incredibly easily, no seasoning requirement, looks great without the maintenance requirements of stainless steel, 500 degree heat tolerance, dishwasher safe, allows metal utensils--I could not ask for more, except perhaps less expense. Even though the others are great pans, they cannot compare to this one. I plan on getting more pieces.

I think the pan is good. I like the metal cover, it is easier to store than a glass one. The only thing I didn't really like was that the directions inside the box say they don't recommend washing it in the dishwasher. That was the reason I chose scanpan because they were supposed to be dishwasher safe.

Say whatever you want to about Fieri, this is a nice little frying pan. It heats up evenly and is easy to cook with and clean thanks to the non-stick surface, so functionally, it's what I expect for the price (the real-world price, not the over-inflated MSRP). As far as the looks go, I like it. The colorful, tattoo-inspired design isn't what you expect on cookware, so it might just make a good gift for people who like to cook, but that you wouldn't normally think of giving cookware to, especially guys (got one for my brother, who loves to cook, but just isn't the kind of person you'd see being into pots and pans). For the price, you could definitely do worse than one of Guy's frying pans.

I wanted something my kids and their friends could use to roast marshmallows or hot dogs over the fire, besides the sticks or streached out clothes hangers. These work perfectly. The two prongs keep what you're cooking from twisting around and cooking one side only. The prongs are long enough that we could fit two hot dogs or four marshmallows (not that kids would EVER want that many at once) and the different colored wooden handles don't get hot or confused with someone else's. They were also easy to clean we had a bucket of "emergency" water they stood them in when finished to keep the marshmallows from drying on. I am thinking of getting another set for when we have larger get togethers.

There are plenty of these forks to go around when we roast marshmallows over the backyard fire pit. No more fighting about which stick/hanger belongs to who with the well marked colored handle ends. Seem very durable. I also love that they have two prongs so those marshmallows that I love to eat totally burned don't fall off when they are on fire. You will love these.

Its hard to imagine a S'mores roasting fork not working as designed...except that these "wear out" after a few months. We bought these in October, stored them inside when not in use, and have used them probably 10 times. I guess the washing or the heat causes the "fork" part to simply fall off. It separates right where you can see they soldered the fork piece to the long metal rod. Ridiculous. Two of them have had the same thing happen both within a week.

I am very happy with the purchase. It was all I expected. The sharp points came covered with a protective cap to keep from getting hurt when first opening to use. Love the colors and leather laces to hang when not in use.
