This product is unfit for its intended use. The first time I used it -to grill vegetables on a gas grill at lower than medium heat (two burners on medium, the third off) -the synthetic part of the "heat resistant" handle melted! Some of the melting "plastic" got all over the food. Even worse, when the entire mess cooled, it was virtually impossible to remove the small globs that had stuck to the body of grilling pan. There are very good products that serve this function. Stay away from this one.

Cheap Fagor 9-inch Silicon Gasket

We recently used our 6 liter Fagor pressure cooker for the first time in over a year. It didn't pressurize too well, so I sought a new gasket. I wasn't sure what size to order since our original gasket was 9.5 inches, halfway between the two sizes available. Also it wasn't 100% clear whether the 6 liter cooker takes the same size gasket as the 6 quart. Anyway I am happy to report that the 9" gasket fits the 6 liter cooker just fine. For the record, the new 9" silicone gasket is actually about 9 5/8 inches in diameter. Also for the record, Fagor calls the material silicon, but it is actually silicone. I'm knocking off a star not because of the product, but because the sizing info could easily be made much clearer on both the Fagor website and on Amazon.

The problem with many pressure cookers is the rubber gaskets get hard, and then the cookers won't seal. The new one from Fagor is silicone, so it should last about forever. The original gasket was rubber, not silicone, so this is an improvement.

I have a combo set (4 quart and 8 quart with single lid) of fagor pressure cookers. Over the years the old gasket was worn out and I stopped using the pressure cookers. Recently I started cooking things that take forever to cook (meats with tough tendons) and wanted to use the cookers again. With Amazon, searching for gaskets was easy. The tough part was making sure the size of the gasket. When I first looked at all the online information, including Fagor's, it seems that the combo set would require 10" gaskets. Thank goodness for another reviewer somewhere on the web that provided the best way to determine size measure the inside diameter of your cooker! If the inside diameter is < 10", use 9". If > 10", use 10". In terms of performance, this silicon gasket works just as it should good. My only hope is this one lasts longer than the 2 years the old one did.

I've ordered two of these, one for me (silicone version) and one for my mother (rubber version). We are both EXTREMELY pleased with the results. We both screwed around with wiggling our pressure cooker lids trying to get the pressure going. We should've come here straightaway and bought the gasket.

We couldn't be happier -we are both huge pressure cooker fans and having a good gasket makes all the difference. I highly recommend this product.

My family cooks with a wok at least 3 or 4 times a week so we have tried a lot of different woks in the last few years. We have tried the fancy Calphalon, but at 12 inches it was just to small and shallow for cooking family size dishes. Great if you are single or have no kids, but I have two hungry boys to fed. We have also tried the old fashion iron wok from China town. It was huge and tough as a nail but no non-stick coating so you better use lots of cooking oil or else a real work out to clean. So I was really glad to find this 14 inches wok with the excellent excalibur non-stick coating because it is big and deep like a real wok should be, and yet has the high tech coating to make it easy to live with. The excalibur coating is the best one I have used and can stand up to all the abuses in a real kitchen. Great product.

After using this wok for a year, the non-stick coating has degraded. The wok smokes quite heavily when it is being pre-heated without oil, much like a cast-iron skillet.

Also, the coating on the bottom of the wok where it contacts the burner has peeled off and there are large areas of rust and carbonized material.

Therefore I can't recommend this wok. It is simply not durable enough. I guess I'll go back to a non-stick skillet.

I got this wok with some hesistation because I've had bad experiences with nonstick woks in the past due to the nonstick coating coming off. I'm happy to say that the Excalibur coating on this wok seems very durable (it was the reason I got this wok).

I've made the standard Chinese dishes with this wok and it performs well. The size and shape of the wok is perfect and the dishes come out great.

Some people question the practicality of a nonstick wok. Having used the traditional carbon-steel woks before, I can definitely say that you have to use at least two to three times the oil in one of those things as in a non-stick wok. There's a reason why most dishes in a Chinese restaurant, even the authentic ones, come out fairly oily. Being health-conscious myself, I would rather sacrifice some taste than use an excessive amount of oil.

In any case, unless you must have 100% authentic Chinese food (not that it's possible given how cooktops are designed in the West), I would recommend getting this wok over a carbon-steel one. You won't regret it.

I've been using this wok for 8 months and it is great! I had a traditional carbon steel wok for a year and a half before this one and was always having problems with it sticking with starchy sauces. Nothing sticks in this wok. The food actually taste a little more flavorful because less is being stuck on the surface of the wok. I use a little less oil in meat dishes. If you do buy this wok you do need to be careful about the heat. It heats hotter than a carbon steel wok, so food will cook faster (and burn if not careful).

We received this wok as a wedding gift in March 2008. Four years later this wok is still in great condition and is a joy to use! The non-stick coating is great for cooking and cleaning because the food does not stick and burn while cooking, and afterwards a quick run under the faucet leaves the wok clean. We use this fairly regularly almost once a week and the non-stick coating shows no signs of wear. This wok has a flat bottom that is ideal for the flat surface of our electric stove. The wok heats quickly and distributes heat evenly enough for me. The accessories are not that impressive, but the wok by itself is worth the price.

I just bought this wok as a gift for a family member I highly recommend it!

I bought these Le Creuset replacement knobs for each of my two large and medium sized Chasseur cast iron casserole dishes/dutch ovens after the plastic ones failed and cracked in a hot oven. I couldn't find genuine Chasseur ones to replace them, so gave these a go and they work brilliantly. Perfect fit through the existing hole in the cast iron lid and fastened with a steel screw, and means that the dutch ovens are now able to be used in very hot ovens without worrying about the handles. The heat transfers through the knob more than the plastic ones obviously, so you need to use a mitt or tea towel to take the lid off, but they serve their purpose very well.

The knobs should now last as long as my cast iron dutch ovens will.

I've replaced all my Le Creuset knobs with these. Why they didn't use these to begin with is a mystery to me. Added plus: they look a lot better than the originals. Only caution: make sure you get the right size. There are 3 that I'm aware of and at the time when I ordered mine I hadn't found the largest one yet. Consequently, had to order more Le Creuset pots and bakeware to match the medium knobs!

I felt I should write a warning to those of you who have previously purchased Chantal blue items to match your kitchenaid appliances or other deep blue kitchen items and dishware, and are trying to add to your collection. The picture is deceptive, Chantal has changed the blue and it is now more of a "faded, stone-washed jeans" color (called indigo blue). Apparently they no longer make the beautiful deep blue that they previously sold called Cobalt blue. This item will not be the color in this picture, as apparently they did not feel the necessity to let anyone know they had changed the color, or to even take new pictures. Find a store that carries the new stuff and check the new color before you purchase it. I was very disappointed as it did not match my previously purchased pieces. This rating is for this and other new Chantal blue items only, and has no reflection on Amazon. Amazon does advertise some pieces in the Cobalt Blue, I assume (hope!) they are older stock, so grab what you need while you can!

I've had the red version of this pie plate for several years and absolutely love not only the look of it, but how well it goes from oven to table to fridge. I also love the very wide rim around the edge, which allows for a little more artistry with the crust and is beautiful, to boot! These pie plates are lovely I have them in several different colors. They do a great job baking a beautiful crust, BUT, they are large. VERY large. I find that none of my standard 'fits a 8or 9double crust pie' pie crust recipes fit well. I end up using well over half my dough for the bottom crust and then just 'topping' the top of the pie with shapes cut out with cookie cutters. Pretty, but it would be nice to be able to make a full two crust pie easily (yes, I know I could tinker with my favorite recipes, but that is a pain).

I had bought the set that this matches but it did not come with this pan so I decided that I would pick this one up separately and after looking everywhere locally found that I could buy it here competitively priced.

I love this set but as anyone that has ever cooked with stainless steel will tell you; it's not the same as cooking on something non stick and requires more attention to heat etc…

I love the handles; they have a silicone or similar material covering the stainless handle and are angled in a way that makes pouring much more comfortable than most department store pots and pans. The clear lids are great and have similar handles so you can see what your cooking and not burn your fingers when removing the lids.

The kettle worked fine for the first 2 weeks. Then corrosion began to appear around the spout. A week later, rust began appearing inside the kettle on the bottom plate which is supposed to be "stainless steel". We were very disappointed with this product.

I've used this about 15 times in the past week and so far so good.

The only gripes I have are

A)Cord could be longer.

B)It would be nice to have a fill line outside.

C)Boy does calcium build up fast in this thing I use only filtered water in this thing and it gets that cloudy calcium film after every use, but as I'm typing this it occurs to me that maybe it's because I leave leftover water in it. I'll stop doing that and see what happens.

*Just a little heads up don't let calcium build up or you'll never get rid of it. Also with anything stainless steel it would be a worth while investment to purchase some 'Barkeepers friend'. That stuff rocks!

Also I wish it boiled water a little bit hotter. Don't get me wrong it works fine for tea but I put honey in my tea and the water that comes out of this isn't quite hot enough to dissolve the honey in the water 100%, I'd say 85-90%. But I think it's a fair trade off for the speed and convenience.

The pluses are -

A)the water has very minimal contact with the plastic lid. The only part of the water that touches it is the moisture produced by the steam.

B)speed

C)small footprint

D)Color is cool

E)price under $20, no brainier, really. If it lasts a year great, if not oh well. But it seems better built then most appliances made today so I have no reason to suspect it won't last.

I just recently started drinking tea and as such this is my first electric tea kettle so I really have no point of reference other then stove top tea pots. When I first opened the box I was surprised how small it was. I guess I thought it would be fatter and taller. But looks can be a little deceiving, I guess, as this will easily heat enough water to fill three standard size travel mugs, but not anymore.

To sum it up I like it!

I've had this saucepan for about a year now, and I use it every day. It looks a bit tarnished compared to when I bought it, but I was expecting that. It's a pretty workhorse, not a porcelain doll. It heats evenly and is the perfect size for a wide variety of tasks. I purchased it in a large set, and it's the pan I go to most often.

Stainless is going to get marked from any number of items cooked in it. I use the Calphalon stainless for cooking everything! The right cleaner will get the marks out/off. I have yet to have cleaning failure. The only cleaner that I have found to be absolutely successful on stainless is Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ (available on Amazon). This is a powder not creme paste. The paste does not work well. The right scrubber with the powder makes an enormous difference. I have tried all kinds, but found The Original Magic Jetz Scrubz J22 Scrubber Sponge Round (available on Amazon) to be far superior than others in cleaning any stainless cookware with the Bar Keepers. Of additional help is a bit of elbow grease not too much needed. Calphalon is expensive, but it cooks likes nothing else. Cleaning should not be a deterrent as to purchase or not. One just needs to use the right cleaning combination for the job.

I purchased this Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12 Inch Round Griddle Pan along with the Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12 Inch Round Grill Pan and cannot be happier. We use this pan for everything: eggs, bacon, French toast, pancakes, vegetables, dumplings (pot stickers), I even made a batch of one-pan brownies (preparing the recipe in the pan on the stove, then sticking the pan in the oven to bake) and they came out great!

The main points for this pan are:

* Nonstick (I mean REALLY nonstick)

* Oven-safe

* Easy to clean

* Handle stays cool while cooking (except when used in the oven)

* Large size with steep sides allows for cooking almost anything but crepes

At around $50 (I paid $100 for the set of two pans) this pan is an incredible bargain. It outperforms every nonstick pan I've used in the past, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stove-top cooking. Even if the only time you use a frying pan is for bacon and eggs in the morning, you will fall in love with Calphalon's Unison nonstick coating.

Note: As with any nonstick cookware, avoid using metal cooking utensils. I bought a heat-resistant silicone-coated spatula and set of tongs and they work perfect.

This is a perfect pan for what I feel it was designed for: eggs and pancakes! I can not imagine a more perfectly designed griddle. The new unison slide surface is truly amazing and does make pancakes and eggs easier than I've ever experienced. This pan is a fabulous value if you like to make breakfast items or other griddle items. I rarely use it during the week but it has made weekend breakfasts a snap for me. It heats evenly and quickly, requires little or no butter or oil, and cleans like a breeze. Since it's not for everything and has a large flat surface with space for up to 4 eggs at a time it's not for every kitchen. But if you have the space for it when you're not using it, boy it is fabulous. The handle Calphalon pans have is well-designed and what draws me to Calphalon before all-clad or other more expensive options.

Re: all Calphalon Unison... If you're considering All-Clad and have't felt the handle, I recommend you try their handles in person before going with All-Clad. I feel they are uncomfortable. I really love the shape of the Calphalon handle and very much dislike All-Clad's

I received this pan as a Christmas gift. At first I loved the pan, but after a few weeks, the pan became warped such that it no longer sits flat on my glass, radiant stove. Since I pay meticulous attention to letting my pans cool before hand washing, I was quite surprised when it warped due to regular use. When I contacted Calphalon about the defect, Calphalon refused to replace this product because the company does not warrant against warping, even due to normal use.

I have been using this pan at least twice a week for about 6 months. I have a smooth-top stove and this pan has warped so much that it is almost useless. At first it was a great pan. I used it to make pancakes, french toast, pork chops, cube steak etc and I was very pleased with the way it cooked food and cleaned up in the dishwasher. However, over time the pan no longer sits flat on the stove. Also, the nonstick lining is looking quite worn. I have used only nylon coated utensils. I am grateful I purchased this pan on sale. It is definitely not worth its full price.

This pan heats unevenly to the point where it simultaneously burns and undercooks food. We have not had this problem with our older Calphalon or All-Clad pans. The uneven heat distribution is undoubtedly related to the thickness of the aluminum. The bottom of the pan is 3.9mm thick. Our older Calphalon pans are 5.5mm thick--40% thicker! Indeed the pans feel lightweight and cheap, similar to non-stick pans you buy at the local supermarket. I suggest you avoid this pan and either buy a cheaper item of similar quality or hunt for better quality.

This review is based on 6 weeks experience with this pan.

What a beautiful oval dish for either deviled eggs, or even Easter eggs. I love the detail of the flitting butterflies, as well as the spring bouquet in the center. It makes a nice center piece along with some flowers for an Easter, Spring or Summer brunch.
