I mix a lot of royal icing. This has a nice sturdy handle that doesn't fatigue my hand while mixing, and the blade part is sturdy and flexible. I like the length too. Long enough for me to keep icing off my hands while mixing in a two cup Pyrex measuring cup.

And of course the fact that it is all one piece is a must in my book. No yucky germs getting into he blade/head.

I bought the Joseph Joseph spatula, solid spoon and flexible turner. I'm very pleased with them all. The weighted handles work exactly as advertised. They also have enough grip to rest on my pot handles when they're dripping with sauce.

I absolutely love Joseph Joseph and every utensil in my kitchen is theirs. That said, I have had two of this particular spatula for 6 months and am throwing them both out. I love the design of all of the Elevate line, but the quality of this spatula just isn't good. The spatula part is really brittle and has cracked and split all over the place very frustrating. I have never put it in the dishwasher, only hand washed, and there just isn't any reason for it to break like that. I wanted so badly for this a fabulous spatula, but it's not. I give it 2 stars for design, but 0 stars for durability. Sad.

This is essentially the All-Clad stainless steel 3 quart saucier fitted with 2 short handles. The "dutch oven" sold by All-Clad is a similar configuration of the 5 1/2 quart saucier.

This is a versatile stovetop pan--wide enough for frying, deep enough for liquids, good-looking enough to carry to the table. It can also slide into the oven when needed.

It may not be big enough to do a traditional 19th century cassoulet, with large hunks of meat and a gallon or so of beans, as one poster complained, but it functions quite well as an "everyday pan" for up to 4 persons. The dimensions of 9 1/2 inches by 3 inches (plus handles) fit the 3 quart capacity into a compact shape, with a rounded bottom for easy stirring.

If you are looking for a versatile "do-it-all" pan, this is a good choice.

The Cassoulet is a classic French stew which, according to the Larousse Gastronomique is 'A dish, originally from languedoc which consists of haricot beans cooked in a stew pot with prok rinds and seasonings. A garnish of meats, which varies from region to region, and a gratin topping are added in the final stages'

This is a somewhat pricy piece of cookery for something designed to do a particular, somewhat complicated dish. I originally bought it with a gift certificate to a good cookware store because I wanted to be sure I had something both durable and distinctive. I have since found that the size and shape of the pot, aside from the superior All-Clad construction is excellent for both braises and thick gratins, two of my favorite types of dishes. It also happens to be just the right shape for whisking sauces and making baked pasta dishes and casseroles (note the similarity in name) such as macaroni and cheese. It is especially good for dishes where you want it covered for most of the cooking, with an uncovered browning step at the end.

Excellent pot, especially if you simply cannot live without every possible piece of French cookery!

I have this pan and use it often and do like it. As far as I can remember it is different than the 3 qt saucier. I recall the saucier having a smaller bottom surface area with more rounded sides. I remember being unimpressed with the saucier for that reason.

I use this for blanching vegetables all the time...it's good for asparagus. Also smaller batches of pasta sauce and smaller type casseroles, mashed potatoes, etc. Overall it's a very nicely sized pan. This pan comes much closer to a true everyday pan then anything else all clad makes. The 10" & 13" "everyday pans" or braisers don't have high enough sides to be very useful IMO.

My dream pan would be very similar to this but larger. Maybe a 4.5 qt version. That would be big enough to make a sauce and add the pasta at the end, also big enough to brown, say 6 pieces of chicken and then braise them in the same pan. Too bad they don't make it. None of their other pans get it right either...if the sides are high enough they tend to sacrifice precious bottom surface area for an overly rounded design.

Works perfectly. You get the whole juice from the lemon.

Before this squeezer I bought a pliers-shaped squeezer which is a disaster.

With pliers-shaped squeezers you can not get the whole juice from the lemon and they also squeeze juice from the lemon's peel which causes your juice to taste bitter.

On the other hand this squeezer works perfectly in terms of getting the whole juice, filtering the seeds, and keeping your juice clean.

I originally had the Norpro version of this juicer, and loved it. Over the years it got kind of nasty. So I ordered two of these to replace the Norpro. I use juicers a lot for cooking. The plastic bowls on these are getting horribly pitted and almost "scarred". I believe that the acids in the juice are actually eating into the plastic. I can't think of any other explanation. This is a concern to me. Are plastic chemicals leaching into my juice? I'm going back to the Norpro.

I have a key lime tree in the yard and this little juicer is perfect for juicing key limes which are smaller than regular Persian limes. This simple product does the job and it was at a very reasonable price. However, it's best to use this when you need to juice only a few limes -I don't recommend using this small juicer for big jobs, it's better to use an electric juicer if you have a lot of fruit to juice.

After buying a set of these for my daughter, decided to purchase a set for myself. Now I'm wishing I had tried hers first. I hand wash all of my cookware, but after washing the lids of these pans, the water remains in the edges of the outer rim of the lids. Even after setting them on edge to drip dry, and hand drying them, the water is impossible to get out. A fair amount remains in the lid, and the only way to get the water out is to insert the edge of a paper towel repeatedly around the rim. And who wants to do that every time they wash the pans? The outside seems to stain easily, and the handles on the lids get hot, as there is no rubberized cushion on the handle that the higher end cookware offers. Wishing I had done a little more research...

The finish on the pots and pans does not last. Even if you follow the instructions, medium heat, hand wash, the exterior finish will turn chalky and eventually wear off to bare metal. Don't waste your money if you care what your cookware looks like.

The handles are comfortable, and it cooks as can be expected. Yes It cooks evenly, and they are not cumbersome.

Pros: They where priced well.

Cons: The Tops could be better; however I don't believe any Cookware manufacturer is making actual good tops, that are both functional, and ergonomic. So they are all about the same. You know with the little hole in the top for draining, or steam release, or whatever.

The interior of this cookware is very satisfactory. The lids slide off too easily. The handles, where they attach to the pan, collect food and grime that cannot be removed. The exterior of the pans scratches easily, even with careful, gentle hand washing, just by allowing the pans to touch each other in the same cupboard. The exterior stains very quickly and becomes unsightly after a few uses. Even a special $15 hard anodized cookware cleaner we bought from Bed Bath and Beyond does not remove the stains. So, your cookware looks very old and worn out in just a few months.

I received this teakettle for Christmas. I've used it 5-6 times, and so far it's great. It's sturdy, well-made, and has a nice design. I like that it is a one-hand operation. The manufacturer recommends using a smaller burner, so it takes a little longer for the water to boil than my old kettle, but the kettle should last longer this way. The best part is the harmonica in the spout, which makes such happy sounds when the water is boiling!

This is a good-looking, stylish tea kettle. Plus, it works! I searched long and hard for a tea kettle that was not a piece of junk (most of them are these days-even expensive ones) and finally took a chance on this Chantal. It is made in Thailand, not China, which makes it a quality item. It turns out to be fantasticnot to big or small, perfect and gorgeous cobalt blue color to match my quartz counters, the handle is flawless and doesn't heat up, the lid stays put but opens if you want it to, the lever control is simple and easy, the whistling spout seats correctly and produces a lovely whistle that gets loud if you forget you have water boiling (I have been known to burn out my non-whistling kettles :( I made a great choice with this tea kettle!

EXPERIENCE AFTER USING FOR AWHILE (update added 3/31/10)

I've discovered a problem with these tools that wasn't obvious at first.

The handles are made of two pieces joined together, and the join isn't good. This causes them to fill with water if run through the dishwasher (or if soaked in a sink of dishwater). You don't realize it until you're cooking something and all this nasty dirty water starts dripping out of the handles and into the food.

I don't use the heated dry cycle on my dishwasher, so this is not a heat-related problem. It's just cheap manufacturing. I've come to expect more than this of Oxo. They generally make pretty good stuff, but I will probably end up throwing these out. I don't want my food contaminated.

These are very sturdy tools that feel good in the hand. My only issue with them is that handles are rather large, so they take up a lot of room in my utensil holder. If you store your tools in a drawer, this probably wouldn't be much of a problem.

Initially I was very surprised by how large the tools were. They are much bigger than any tool I've bought previously. If you don't have much space in the kitchen, I'd think twice about buying these tools. However, after using them I think they are quite sturdy and useful. Eventhough they are large, they are not heavy and sometimes there size is quite helpful. You can pick up a whole fried egg with the spatula, for example. I am happy with my purchace, because the price was good.

Bought these to replace older, non-matching kitchen tools. OXO work well and look nice but size-wise they are a bit large. Handles are extra long which is kind of overkill especially when using a small pot or pan. Grips are comfortable. Will have to invest in a new holder with a wide mouth to fit all tools comfortably. All is good, just be forewarned on size.

I'm in agreement with the other reviewers. The edge of this spatula has melted and I can remove the excess with my thumbnail. Yuck! This spatula was actually a free replacement for an older one that had done the same thing. (Oxo is very good about standing behind their products.) However, it is odd that they sent me something with the same innate flaw. I should have been told that ALL nylon spatulas will melt! They should discontinue making them or specify to be used ONLY where NO HEAT is involved. But what tasks would that include?

This is an excellent cooking spoon. Long and very light weight, the oval perforated bowl is large and the handle is comfortable to hold. According to the OXO website, the spoon is heat resistant to 400 degrees; not the 250 degrees as shown in the product description above.

I bought this to replace a casserole dish that I dropped and broke. When it arrived, I like the style where the lid sits so tightly on the body of the casserole. However, it was not as large as I thought it would be (in diameter). It is a 2 quart casserole, which I thought would be larger, and the measurements given on your website threw me off. They were in millimeters instead of inches and I had a hard time converting them. As a result, I think I really wanted a 3 quart size. That's OK, though, as I am pleased with the look and way this casserole worked for me. I will probably go back online and buy a 3 quart and a 5 quart! I really like the design of this product with the handles fitting flush to the body of the casserole. Nice piece of design!

For three reasons:

1) The no-stick surface is suberb, in most cases you do not even need spray oil yet things just slide right out. DuPont makes 3 teflon coatings and only the top can be labeled DuPont and this one is the first I have seen. By the way even with no stick you still get some frond.

2) They recommend that after use you immediately run it under cold water in order to best preserve the coating! I held my breath and did it. Bravo, seems like nothing can warp that thick cast aluminum.

3) It survives a 450 degree oven. Saute salmon or steak to get a thin crisp crust and then shove into that hot oven to finish it off. This allows you to maintain even doneness throughout the meat's thickness.

No other brand will be bought for my kitchen and that even includes Swiss Diamond, the previous best.

Berndes Tradition 10-Piece SetI purchased a complete set of Berndes Signocast Classic Cookware. While I am happy with the nonstick surface and overall quality, I do have one serious complaint. I bought this brand of toaster bags (from a different retailer), and the first time I used them, one of the bags melted, making a decent-sized hole. This defeated my purpose of keeping my gluten-free bread safe from contamination by all the gluten crumbs in the toaster at work. It's possible that the toaster at work gets hotter than normal toasters, but I would think most users would be using this sort of toaster at work, hotels, etc.

This is the best and sharpest knife I have ever had! It is impressive looking and even sharper than my Classic chefs knife. As a professional this is everything I want in a chef's knife. I own a slew of high end cutlery, and this is simply the perfect knife for me. It is heavy like a wusthof, yet has that unrivaled blade of a shun. My zwilling cronidur was my go to knife for a while, due to the weight and comfort in my hand, but my shun premier was my precision knife. This married those together in the perfect way. Well worth the scary price tag.

The fit and finish of this knife is beautiful and flawless. I placed a paper towel on top of a plastic cutting board, under some damp mushrooms I was slicing and every time the knife contacted the paper towel it made a perfect shear cut in the paper towel it was so sharp. There wasn't a hint of a tear on the paper towel. This is my second Shun knife and I know it will stay this sharp with reasonable care well into the future.

Certainly it's not an inexpensive knife and I haven't tried every knife ever made, so I won't say it's the best knife in the world, but it is an amazing knife made from high quality materials. I'm more than satisfied and for the vast majority of professional and home users it is a top quality knife worthy of serious consideration.

We bought this set a few months ago and we really really enjoy them. The handles have a really good grip on them and also seem like they will never come apart. You know how some cookware just seems like the handles will come off one day? These aren't like that. They feel indestructible. The color is definitely the one of the best parts. The pots and pans look amazing, with the brown color that is different from your average cookware. they are very durable, I have had them for 2 years now and they look like new, and yes I do cook on a daily bases. Since it's a non-stick set, no scrubbing is needed, I just pop them dishwasher and they come out looking like new. I love this set so much that I am getting this set for my mother this Christmas.

Two things you need to know about this item. First off and most importantly, these pans are NOT dishwasher safe! the outside has a nice porcelain finish, but it must be washed by hand. Secondly the skillets are 9" and 10.5", NOT 10" and 11" these are not my measurements, it is clearly marked on the outside of the box they are contained in.

Overall, a very nice set. Sturdy and nice looking. Heavy-duty feel, with a super slick non-stick coating. Nice set for the price.
