I was first introduced to the NuWave oven by my sister's boyfriend's grandfather. His grandfather needed to get rid of a lot of personal items because he was moving into an old folks home because he could no longer take care of himself. So we put his NuWave oven to use by cooking a lot of different things in it. Being a person who doesn't trust much infomercials I was skeptical at how well the NuWave oven works at first. I even saw the local news reporting on how quickly the NuWave oven makes meals but was still skeptical till I used it myself. I found that it cooked most meals pretty well and you really didn't have to watch it. You just set the cooking time and leave and come back when it's finished. I was so impressed by this that I bought one myself and used it at my apartment going to college. This thing was a life saver because I wouldn't have time to get food ready because I worked, had to do school work, and had to get ready for school. Which gives me absolutely little time to prepare food. It works well if you don't have a lot of time on your hands.

I cooked chicken thighs/legs/quarters/drumsticks, pork steaks, beef steaks, pork loins, pork chops, pork ribs, linguica sausage, smoke sausage, bratwurst, pizza (frozen and home made), frozen burritos, sasauge links, muffins, spam, vienna sausages, tater tots, salmon, tilapia, and practically anything you could think of in it. Most of the time it came out pretty good. Just make sure you turn it over because sometimes the other side of the food is unevenly cooked. It's very good for reheating certain types of food though.

*TIPS*

Always make sure you flip your food so it cooks evenly

Follow the suggested temperature power setting for the food you are cooking

Make sure you line the pan with aluminum foil so you don't have to scrub the pan

The plastic dome will slowly crack, I wish they would offer it with a heavy duty glass dome but it would cost them too much money to send you a NuWave with a glass dome. I guarantee the dome will crack first before the heating element will give out on your NuWave. But after 8 months of usage, the dome is cracked. I used this thing daily but it will not replace the need to fry chicken in a deep fryer or the convenience of microwaving food in a microwave safe container. I am now outsourcing to a glass blower who will manufacture me a replacement dome.

This is one of the very few items that you see on a info-commecial that really works. The other afternoon, my son and family stopped in unexpectedly. So I invided them to stay for supper. Now what to serve them? I remembered I had a 4 pound pork roast, about 3" thick, in the freezer. I got it out, along with some potatoes a put the NuWave Pro to the test. I put the frozen pork roast on the 4"shelf. I cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and surrounded the roast with potato halves. The rest of the potatoes I put on the lowwer rack. Set the Power level on "Hi" and the timer at 2 hours and relaxed with the family. In 2 hours the roast and potatoes werer done. The roast was perfect, a roasted look on the outside and nice and juicey on the inside. I've also done steaks, up to 2" thick, and hamburgers that came out the same. The easy cook guide instructions are just about right on the money as far as cooking time goes.

The NuWave I bought, model 20326, comes with the entender ring and extra racks.It's well worth the extra money over the standard model. It gives you so many different option for use. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new NuWave as much as I do mine.

I purchased one of these ovens for myself and my sister after watching the infomercial numerous times. It is truly amazing to say the least. Since receiving mine for $139.99 using the super saver shipping method, I have used it almost daily and have cooked cornish hens, leg of lamb, pork loin roast, chicken leg quarters, whole duckling, toasted bagels and english muffins. Everything has cooked perfectly using the included cooking chart and have tried the cornish hens and chicken quarters frozen and fresh. It is best to thaw meats before cooking as it tastes better and saves time and energy as well. My favorite meal so far has been cornish hen cooked whole after rubbing all over with about a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkling with McCormick rotisserie chicken seasoning. This only takes a total of 30 minutes as recommended by the included cooking chart and is the best overall $3.00 meal so far. This oven will definitely save you time and money and you'll be impressed with how juicy and grease free your food turns out. I like to watch the food as it cooks as it does so with a maximum of 1500 watts using the highest of ten power levels which is what is recommended by the cooking chart unless reheating previously cooked food. The clean up has been very easy as this model is the black and stainless upgraded model and includes the extender ring kit which would sell together for $184.92 plus very costly shipping and handling if ordered directly from Hearthware which makes the price around $200.00. Amazon.com has the lowest price including shipping that is available for this oven so you can't go wrong ordering one from them. What a joy this is! Haven't used my reular oven since this was received. EVERYTHING cooks up exactly as required from FROZEN!

Takes some getting used to in establishing how much cooking time is actually needed as their chart & cookbooks are mostly useless.

Steaks, chicken, salmon, even baking rolls all come out tasting great and retain their juciness much more than regular oven cooking.

Put me down as being really impressed--Will probably buy a couple for Christmas presents later this year!

This is the only stainless steel 3-way set I could find. It's a lasagna pan, broiler pan and roasting pan. It takes so much less room in my kitchen to have just one set. This Farberware pan is a study in functionality. It is well made and quite rugged; it has a relatively thick bottom and heats very evenly, and has high quality, durable phenolic handles, which are securely attached and will last a long time. It also has an attachment on the handle to enable hanging from a hook.

My only critique of the pan is that it is a bit too tall relative to other two quart saucepans, and not as big in diameter as I would like, as it won't cover even the smallest burner on an electric range. That is the main reason that I gave it four stars instead of five, but I also deducted a bit for appearance: the pan is homely. I am not looking for a major style statement in my cookware, but rivals like Cuisinart have similarly priced high quality cookware that is considerably more stylish and less dowdy.

Recommended overall: will give years of good service if treated with even a modicum of care, which, in the end, is what I really want from a saucepan.

This has got to be the deal of the century, and not only that, these pans will last you almost that long! My mother has had a set for 35 years, and I've had mine for 5. Nearly indestructible, dishwasher safe, good performers on the stovetop, with stay-cool handles! They even look great after all those years!

Keep in mind that because they are mostly stainless steel, with an aluminum bottom, Farberware does not heat up quite as fast as, say, hard-anodized aluminum such as Calphalon, which gourmets prefer. Stainless steel is a poor heat conductor, while aluminum is good and copper is the best. On the plus side, you can't put Calphalon in the dishwasher and Calphalon does not have true stay-cool handles, like Farberware.

Anyway, how often do you buy a gift knowing that it will still be around 20, 30, 40 years from now? By the way, if the pot does have a problem, they come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Farberware 18/10 stainless steel cookware is a good line. I had this cookware at one time, and I can recommend it, especially for use on gas burners. Unlike Calphalon cookware, it can go in the dishwasher. However, to keep the finish gleaming, you might need to scrub the pots and pans frequently with cleanser and scouring pads. The 2-Quart Saucepan is a kitchen essential.

When I saw the price,free shipping, and factory pre-seasoning, this dutch oven proved irresistable. The size is great and the black color was attractive.Sadly, the factory pre-seasoning did not meet expectations! I learned to cook using cast iron, and I still own several "original finish" cast iron skillets, griddles and specialty pans (tri-ply stainless steel is wonderful, but some things just cook more evenly with cast iron). While cast iron is not difficult to season,it was just an added bonus to order a dutch oven that I thought would have an even, well applied finish to begin the seasoning process (properly seasoned cast iron pans only get better over the years). When the dutch oven arrived, I was surprised by what seemed to be a discoloration under the finish on the inner surface of the pot lid. I used the dutch oven for the first time to make chili. The steam from the chili caused the "pre-seasoning" on the inner surface of the lid to mottle badly, and the area that had initially appeared discolored was revealed to be covered with rust. A tell-tale metallic smell was also present (usually a sign that your pan might need to be seasoned again). Needless to say, I was disapointed. This pan proved to be MORE effort than the original finish pans since I had to scrub down the lid to remove the remaining mottled pre-seasoning, and to remove the rust. I then just seasoned the lid properly the old-fashion way in my oven. All in all, the Dutch oven is well worth $25 (and the saved $12.66 in shipping charges is also appreciated), but the Lodge Cast Iron Manufacturing Co. has a reputation for quality that this finish did not meet. I contacted the company to express my concerns (ie, did I need to take additional steps to remove all of the factory applied finish) and to ask if this problem was evident in other pans in the pre-seasoned line.The Lodge Co. has not responded to my email. Bottom line, before paying full price plus shipping, for anything in the pre-seasoned line, I would compare the cost to the original finish, or to the beautiful new Lodge enamel cast iron items.

The dutch overn itself is just what I expected: sturdy and indestructible cast iron. The pre-seasoning was blotchy. I removed it with detergent and water, then re-seasoned using the directions in the old Joy of Cooking: coat generously with grease/oil, place in 450 degree F. oven for 30 minutes. Much better.

Short review. This will become one of the most important pieces in your kitchen. I like the handles better than the other lodges, and NOTHING compares to cast iron.

Alton Brown raves about this thing and for good reason. He also writes of a casserole pot, don't get it unless you are a chef. This works everywhere that one does. An excellent buy.

My only word of caution. I love the loop handles, but IF you are one of the rare people who still cook with a campfire, get the other 5qt lodge.

First off I enjoy quality kitchen tools. I never minded paying for a quality tool. But when you get prenium quality at a rock bottom price, well it just doesn't get any better than that. Also any of the cast iron products from Lodge will easily last a lifetime or two, with minimal care. I previously owned a 7 quart duch oven and loved it. But my daughter finally has moved out, and it's just the wife and I at home now, so I downsized to a 5 quart dutch oven. I was happy to see Lodge offer a dutch oven with side handles instead of a wire bail, because we do most of our cooking at home in our oven, not at a campfire. The 5 quart dutch oven and 10 inch skillet would be a perfect gift for someone just starting out in life. They probably would not realize the value of what they recieved, until they are cooking a pot roast or a pot of chili for their grandchildren thirty years later. Update May 2011. I just purchased another Lodge 5qt. dutch oven to give to my daughter's boyfriend as a birthday gift. We gave him a 12" Lodge cast iron skillet a few months back, and he loves it! Our daughter tells us he uses it every single day. So we thought we would add to his cast iron collection, by giving him a 5qt. dutch oven. At the very least he can learn to make chili and pot roast. By the way, I got an exception deal on this dutch oven on Amazon.com. The lowest price I have ever seen on this item, and free shipping too. I hope he learns to love this Lodge 5 qt. dutch oven as much as he does his Lodge 12" skillet. Once you learn to use your cast iron dutch oven, your crock pot will never get used again. Our grandparents knew something that many people today don't know. Cast Iron cookware works well, and works for the long run.

Why five stars if the title says "fourteen pounds of grief"? Read on.

I got this probably six months ago, and had a moment of laziness. Normally, I'd go ahead and add several more layers of seasoning, even on the pre-seasoned iron. But I didn't this time. Which was ok. The Lodge pre-season isn't perfect, and they don't claim it is. It's just a good head start.

Shortly after I got this, my wife and I left my step-daughter house-sitting for the weekend. When we got back, I found my new dutch oven ruined. Apparently, my step-daughter had burned something in it, helpfully grabbed a stainless steel scrubby and some Comet cleaner and tried to scrub out the crunchies. She only succeeded in scrubbing off the seasoning, but not the burned-on stuff. So she threw it in the sink to soak.

Yep, pretty much a complete list of things you should not do to cast iron.

The bottom four inches of the dutch oven were solid orange rust. My wife took one look at the expression on my face and started hustling her daughter out the front door. I wasn't going to kill her. Honest. Especially when I realized that the five-quart pot was way too big to serve as an urn for her ashes.

Instead, I grabbed some sandpaper, took the rust down to bare metal, coated the pan with lard and threw it in the oven. Rinse, lather repeat.

And that's the beauty of cast iron. You can't mess it up, and if you do mess it up, you can fix it. My dutch oven is better now than when it was new, and it will only continue to improve.

It's forever-ware. Lodge makes a great product, right here in America, and you can't buy better cast iron. I love mine for stews, and for the occasional batch of no-knead bread. Oven, cooktop or charcoal grill, this dutch oven turns out delicious food.

Sooo. Company coming, Need to make dessert ahead of time. A cranberry almond butter cake. Very thick batter. About $15 worth of ingredients. Mixed it up, scraped it into the brand new pan, and into the oven it went. 3-4 minutes later I hear a sizzling sound. It was leaking all over the oven! Whoever said these don't leak must have bought an older, better quality version. This one leaks like a sieve right under the buckle. And yes, I made sure it was properly fitted and closed. After I cleaned up the mess I washed and dried the pan and began trying to figure out why it leaked. No matter what I did, it would lose water in the same place time after time. Boo. Should have known there's no such thing as a "bargain."

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Thanksgiving dinner is an ideal time to put new cookware through a workout; my Paula Deen Signature Stainless Steel II 12 piece set arrived in time for the holiday. As a food writer and recipe developer who's been cooking for more than 30 years, pots and pans are heavily used in my kitchen.Over the years I've bought and reviewed many brands of cookware. I've cooked on gas stoves, electric, and even glass topped electric ranges. Different kinds of cookware work better depending on the type of stove you have *and* how you tend to cook.

For example, a gas stove heats immediately. It's never a good idea-unless you're bringing liquid to a boil-to set the range temperture on high. In fact, with a gas stove, I even boil water over medium-high heat with any kind of pots or pans, especially nonstick. With an electric stove, care must be taken with regards to how long you leave a pot or pan on the hot burner, and for traditional cookware (without nonstick surface), you'll have to preheat the burner before trying to sear or brown meats, fry eggs, etc. Glass topped stoves can't take some types of cookware without risk of damaging the glass surface. THAT said, Paula Deen's Signature Stainless Steel II 12 Piece Cookware set can be used with care on any type of burner for many years of regular use. The set has a limited lifetime warranty.

Another reviewer mentioned the cookware in the set is lightweight, which worried me until my set arrived. It isn't feather-light, and you wouldn't want it to be. Light cookware is often an indication of cheaply made pots and pans. This set is solid, medium weight, with hefty stainless steel bottoms for even heat distribution and aluminum with stainless steel construction. These aren't 100% stainless steel pots and pans; it says so right on the box. The nonstick pans are aluminum, meaning you'll have to keep cooking temperature lower to prevent damage... including flaking off or bubbling of the Teflon coating.

How does this set differ from Paula Deen's Traditional Stainless Steel set, or her 1st Signature Stainless Steel set? Aside from the obvious re-design of the glass lids (which are nicer in this new set), gone are the loose, floppy, annoying rings on the handles for hanging. Instead, the handles are much more solidly made with comfortable silicone grips and holes drilled into the outer ends for hanging. Construction of this new set is also far better and sturdier than her earlier sets. Unlike Paula's original signature series, these pots and pans don't have copper bottoms. As with most nonstick cookware, if you give the pans a serious workout on a daily basis, you can expect to replace them in a few years, but the pots and lids truly should last a decade or longer.

You'll receive 1, 2, and 3 quart covered saucepans, a 6 quart stock pot with lid, an 8" aluminum skillet, and a 10" aluminum skillet, plus a slotted turner and a slotted spoon. I'm rating the set at 4 stars. Paula Deen's new set is on par with a decent set of Revereware, is better than her enameled, nonstick set for longevity, is better than brands like T-fal, but probably isn't as great for a serious cook as Calphalon Unison. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Paula Dean Signature Stainless Steel II 12-Piece Cookware Set is great for beginners, first-time homeowners, and as a general starter cookware set. The set is fairly inclusive with a couple of utensils, stockpot, three saucepans, four lids, and two skillets.

The skillets are very lightweight, which is good or okay depending on your desire. For those that need a lightweight set because of difficulty of lifting heavy items this is great. It's one of the lightest I've ever used. However, I personally prefer a thicker bottom for heat distribution and even cooking. The stockpot and saucepans are also fairly lightweight.

The lids are well made, however, some of the handles and screws were loose upon opening the box. They just needed a quick tightening, but it could be a question of quality in the future. The lids are glass and great for seeing what's cooking. The design is fairly simplistic with straight handles and gently molded stainless steel that curves along the top. The curves give it a slight southern feel in my opinion, especially with the ccpper-like accents on the handles. The utensils aren't a major addition in terms of quality. Very simple slotted spoon and slotted turner.

Overall, this is a great starter set. It's possible that you'd need a new set in 3-5 years (especially with the nonstick skillets), but it's a fairly nice design and is a good sized set.

I personally prefer my Calphalon Professional and Commercial hard anodized cookware, but it is unfair to compare the two because of the vast difference in price. I am currently using this Paula Deen cookware set at a weekend vacation cabin, and they are a big improvement over the old set of Farberware that I previously had.

The set comes with a nice variety of pieces, including:

1, 2 & 3-Quart Stainless Steel Covered Saucepan

6-Quart Stainless Steel Covered Stockpot

8 & 10-Inch Aluminum Nonstick Skillets

Slotted Turner, Slotted Spoon

The insides of the skillets have non-stick coating, but the saucepans and stockpot do not. The lids are glass, which is nice because I do not have to lift the lids nearly as often. The information included says that these can be used in the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, but I have not used that feature yet.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This modern cookware set is awesome!!! Not only are they gorgeous, but they are sooooo easy to clean. There is nothing worse than when a pot/pan gets all brown and funky and then to not be able to get the stains off of them. That's not the case with these though. They are so shiny and brilliant right after you wash them. I get lots of compliments when I cook with them. People always ask me what brand they are and when I tell them, they never believe me. They always think they are calphalon or some similar brand. They are now my favorite set of pots that I own.

It cooks evenly but I've noticed you need to watch what you're cooking more closely than "coated" cookware. yAs for what it looks like, nothing is prettier than stainless steel pots all shined up. The lids are glass so you can see what you are cooking. The 2 skillets are non-stick. The info sheet says the pots (not skillets) are dishwasher safe. I put one of the pots in the dishwasher and didn't like the way it looked, lots of spots, so I hand-wash all of them. This cookware set would make a nice wedding gift. I definitely would recommend this!!

I can't really do much of a review for this product because I'm not using it. The Winco fry pan I bought it for is so well designed a silicone sleeve is unneeded. I will say that the sleeve I received will not fit the pan I bought. Apparently there are two different sleeves because Winco produces pans with two different handles. This sleeve will only fit a solid restaurant-style handle -completely flat and about an inch wide. The picture they show is for two sleeves, and it looks as if one will fit a round tubular handle, which is what I needed. So be advised that purchasing these sleeves may not be as easy as it looks. I did NOT contact the seller for a replacement because, as I said, the sleeve is really unnecessary, and I only paid a couple dollars for it anyway. No big deal. I you have a pan that needs a silicone sleeve, you might be better off taking your pan into your local kitchen store to ensure a good fit for the sleeve -there are so many different shapes and sizes it's hard to buy these online. I rated this a five because the vendor shipped promptly with well-documented merchandise, and the product itself appears to be very well made.

I chose a 5 star rating for three reasons. One the price was right. Hard to go wrong with something when the price seems low enough to be a great deal. Two, the weight of this item was quite low even for such a solid cooker. And three, the pan roasted a turkey only several days after it arrived, to perfection. I even made homemade gravy right out of the roasting pan. A plus is that it cleaned up extremely easily with a little hot water and soap and no scrubbing at all. Overall, I love this roaster.

This is an excellent roasting pan of high quality and it will hold a large turkey.

I bought it because the pan and the rack is non-stick and cleans up very easily. Well worth the money!

I purchased this product during the brief time when it was not on Prime. When it arrived the cups were all the same color, rather than the gradient shown, and came in 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, 1/4 cup, and 1/3 cup.
