This product may say its made in Italy but the stickers on it say made in China. Boo. When I contacted them for answers i had to leave a message and of course, never got a call back. Aside from that, the coatoings on the pots and pans were rippled and chipped. One of the pots was mishapened i'm assuming during shipping. Just poor quality and dishonesty all around. Sending them back asap.

DON'T BUY!!!! After much searching I purchased a complete 10 piece set at bed and bath. Well about 6 months later the white ceramic coating is USELESS ! I followed their breakin instructions and cooking instructions to the letter !! Everything sticks!!! I completely coat and almost float whatever, fish, chicken, or beef in olive oil and everything still stick to the pans!!!!!! I am an avid cook BUT even cheap pans Teflon pans bought from walmart last longer!!!! I emailed Tramontina and the women replied after 3 days and sent me the warrantee : "Our warranty is for Manufactures Defects only and does not cover normal wear and tear, overheating issues, warping or scratches in the coating. The warranty can include the coating, but only in the event that dust or debris had fallen on the pan before the coating was sprayed on. This would reflect in small bubbles that would pop and burst, causing the bottom of your pan to be very rough but retain its original coloring. This symptom can also be found if a pan has been overheated but the coating will be discolored a brown or black." Plus I would have to pay to ship the pans to them for review!!! She was upset that I CALLED THE WARRANTEE USELESS. Well the way I read it " They DO NOT COVER Normal wear and tear" !!!!!! SO the moral of my story DO NOT BUY TRAMONTINA WHITE CERAMIC COOKWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Deals for Tramontina Gourmet Ceramica-01 Deluxe Cookware Set, 10 Piece

I did a lot of research before choosing this set. I had a large collection of non-stick pots and pans that were still in good condition but after learning about the dangers of cooking on Teflon and heavy cast aluminum (I have vintage sets of The Club and Guardian Service cookware), I decided on this set. I also have a set of Royal Prestige Stainless Steel cookware that I have had for over 20 years, it is still in excellent condition but I wanted something that was not so heavy but easy to use and non-stick.

Never in my life had I cooked on ceramic cookware and I must say that I don't think I will use anything else but this type cookware, the end results of any dish are simply amazing! You don't have to use high heat and in fact the manufacturer advises against it due to the possibility of damage to the cookware. They are absolutely correct, you will not need to use high heat. Everything cooks wonderfully!

When I received the box, I did get a pan that was crooked (the 10-inch), the seller immediately shipped another one to me and although it is the one pan that does not have a lid that fits, thus the 4-star review instead of 5, I like it a lot! I've used every single piece in this collection and I cannot say enough good things about it. It is true that you need no oil whatsoever to cook with. I wish that the dutch oven were 6-quarts instead of 5 but I can work with that. The price is excellent for a good-quality set like this. I thought I would get a cheap product that I would have to end up sending back but I took a chance and I'm so very glad I did!

Highly recommended and if I had the space, I would order a second set to have on hand. Thank you, Chef's Catalog, for a wonderful product. The pans are made in Italy but the lids are made in China. One more thing, do not use metal utensils to cook on these or they will get scratched. Use wood, plastic or bamboo. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this set!

Got this set for christmas and thought they would be ok. They are great, clean, than oil and heat on low heat to season the pans. Nothing sticks. easy to clean. love them.

I chose this because the non stick is ceramic and not full of chemicals, which I am very sensitive to. They look really nice and they clean up really well.

Yes, it's big, but I didn't think it was heavy. ***I JUST WEIGHED THIS KETTLE WHILE IT WAS FULL OF WATER AND IT ONLY WEIGHS 6 POUNDS. I can see that if you have trouble lifting a cat or bag of flour then you may have a problem here.

The craftsmanship is pure Kitchenaid. You will have no problem there. But beware that ONLY the stainless steel version is usable on glass-top stoves. The ceramic-covered versions are NOT. ***For those that don't know, you can click on this product to see what a glass-top stove/range looks like: Ceramabryte 28oz Cooktop Cleaner

The whistle is a bit screechy, but then again, you want it to alert you over the noise of the house.

The handle DOES get hot. Not burn-your-hand hot, but very warm. If you only touch the rubber part, you're fine, but you almost have to grab the whole thing to lift it and pour it safely.

I highly recommend getting the stainless steel version; it's beautiful and functional.

The Kitchenaid 2qt tea kettle is an attractive, solid-performing, and simplistic addition to my cookware. I got tired of boiling water in my small Calphalon pot that I decided to finally buy a dedicated kettle.

Sure, boiling water in a pot is fine, but have you ever forgot about the boiling water while waiting for it and it boiled dry? I'm guilty for sure. That's terrible for your pots too, not to mention a safety hazard. I wasn't sold on a stove top kettle over an electric but finally settled on the stove top.

The plastic electric kettles concerned me over leeching issues and the stainless steel electrics were very expensive. I was also worried that cleaning the electric kettle's would also be harder and really did not want one more thing in my kitchen to plug in amongst the mixer, toaster, microwave, ice cream maker, blender, etc. When Amazon's price dipped below half of what it cost elsewhere, I plunged in head first to get the stainless steel Kitchenaid kettle.

The stainless steel version, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is safe on any stove top, including glass. This was the primary reason for me selecting the stainless, but aesthetic preference was a close second. As with any stainless steel interior pan or pot, there will be some white spots from hard water deposits, which disappear by boiling vinegar mixed with water and letting sit for about 10 minutes.

The kettle boils water quickly and the whistle starts out relatively quiet from a soft chirp to a full on, "hello I am B-O-I-L-I-N-G" whistle. The handle does NOT get hot. It can get mildly warm, but I would recommend either making sure you put the kettle on the correct-sized burner or using a slightly lower heat if having issues with a hot handle. I can't imagine that the silicone handles would actually melt, as one reviewer mentioned. I use Kitchenaid silicone trivets that get MUCH hotter and come in full contact with the bottom of my extremely hot pans and never have problems.

I just have a couple of minor issues. The functional complaint I have is that once the water boils and you lift the whistle, the steam that's collected in the whistle drips out onto the burner and kettle. My other complaints are related to Kitchenaid's packing decisions. The box that it came in, offered very little protection from scrapes therefore, my kettle had rubbed up against the box on the bottom, creating an unsightly blemish. Not a huge deal though right? It's on the bottom. The other is that they decided to use a very sticky tape to keep the lid safely shut during shipping. The tape was difficult to remove and did not completely rub off on washing. I may have to resort to using Goof Off to get the remaining residue off.

All in all, I'm happy with the Kitchenaid kettle and can't imagine a better value in another stainless steel kettle.

I have had many tea pots and most of them have been inexpensive.

I purchased this one hoping it would last longer and not

rust. I've had it for less than a month and it

is rusting already. I've been drying it out after

ever use to try to lengthen it's life.

I thought that if I spent $50 on a teapot it would last...wrong!!

Honest reviews on KitchenAid Teakettle 2-Quart Gourmet Essentials Stainless Steel

This is not 18-10 stainless steel. (It may be 18-0 to 18-8; chromium % nickel %) Also, it's made in China (what isn't these days?) so we're a bit concerned about the "heavy metals" content (lead, mercury, etc). The surface is rather extensively "brushed" and not as smooth & shiny as the product photo indicates. (a noticable amount of grey metal particulate was on the white paper towels from first cleaning prior to using) The handles & spout lid frame are cast aluminum and the 'soft' inserts are high-temp silicone compound.

KitchenAid 'branded' products are not what they used to be (again, what is these days?). Their counter-top mixers and some other products remain of significant high quality, but their tagline "For the Way It's Made." has lost it's way. (in addition to the aforementioned mixers, we also own a KitchenAid fridge, KitchenAid dishwasher, KitchenAid food-processor, KitchenAid coffee maker, etc.) (the coffee maker, by-the-way, was recalled & KitchenAid disenfranchised that entire product line)

For the rather high price this should be nothing less than 18-10 Stainless & should have a much smoother 'low-sheen' brushed appearance, if not a typical full gloss polish. (example: the Farberware Classic Tiburon here on Amazon and at half this KitchenAid price!)

(one last note: our previous KitchenAid tea pot, the red porcelain enamel version of this one (also sold here on Amazon), rusted at several areas within a week or two of light-to-normal use & a few particles of the enamel detached)

Probably will return this, unfortunately. (great style, though. if only looks were everything!)

We are so disappointed and are returning this item. We absolutely loved this kettle (beautiful, works well) but the RUST is an absolute deal breaker. We read about rust on one of the reviews but decided to take our chances anyway. I wish we listened we're sending it back.

The actual size of the pan where the base hits the burner would be just over six inches. The website for Sitram measures the top of the pan at slightly larger. This is not an 8" pan. It does have rivets. I would have liked to have been shipped a new pan for the price I paid for it. When I peeled back the sticker on the bottom (be careful doing this as not to rip it), the sticker had been replaced previously. There was residue and paper with writing from the previous sticker that was removed under then newly replaced sticker. Not sure if this was the manufacturer's mistake or Amazon's but it was a bad one! No thanks, you can have it back.

That being said, I love the Sitram 11" Non-Stick Linox http://www.amazon.com/Sitram-11-Inch-Stainless-Steel-Frypan/dp/B00009A9W5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361836002&sr=8-1&keywords=sitram+nonstick (same as this one but larger) that I ordered before I purchased this one. That one cooks great. Wish it was a little heavier though but it has not warped on me or scratched up yet.

The reason we bought these frying pans was to replace the old ones we had. They were the same name brand frying pans which we purchased them eleven years ago. The coating was starting to come off them so that's why they got replaced. They are excellent frying pans to cook with and very easy to clean and handle.

I did make the mistake of walking away while heating up the pan, and let's just say I remembered because I started to smell the toxic fumes of teflon!

The Waring Pro W050B Cordless wine opener is just fantastic. I received one when redeeming my points from my credit card. I was so impressed with it that I quickly got online to find where I could purchase more. Amazon directed me in the right direction. I have purchased 3 more openers, one for each of my sisters. All of them agree it is one of the better birthday gifts they have recieved. It works well, just as demonstrated on the Waring video I viewed before ordering. I did read reviews from other owners and that helped me make the choice of this product. I recommend this product for anyone looking for a wonderful gift or one for themselves.

The Opener itself worked great. The Charging base quit working 2 months after I received it. Called Waring and they would replace it if I send the whole product back costing me at least another $10 to $12 in postage (very heavy) for an already expensive opener compared to others. I was willing to spend more for what I thought would be a quality product. They would cover the postage of the replacement back to me. Resulting in me having over $50 in a wine opener that as far as I know could suffer the same fate in a couple of months as the first one. I feel they should have covered the return postage so I would not have had more invested and they could show they FULLY stand behind their products.

Will not buy ANYTHING from Waring again and advise anyone to consider this when they are ordering. I threw this one away and bought an Oster. Warranties that keep costing me money on the same item is no good to me.

If the battery gets below 2 volts you might as well throw the opener away, because it can not be charged! There is a design flaw that will not allow the unit too be recharged

This corkscrew does not work with plastic corks.

Once the cork is extracted you must use a screwdriver to wedge the cork against the wall of the opener to get enough traction to remove the cork from the opener.

Very pretty, love corelle products, making tea today and the plastic on the spout melted then caught fire . Started to melt the handle. i purchased this because of the whistle, i saw flames them smelled plastic burning. Not happy, brand names are usually made with quality.

The good: nice size, pretty pattern, the spout cap and handle stay cool, appears to be of good quality (although I've only had it a week ... time will tell). Nice loud whistle, although I would call it more of a horn! It's a two-tone clarinet sound that will alert you to its readiness if you are anywhere within 100 feet! I even heard it over my vacuum ^.^

The bad: the pink has a sort of peachy tinge to it so if you're looking for a true pink (or dusty rose) ... you won't get it with this pattern. It's just a little off. Incredibly, this lists as a 2 1/2 quart tea kettle but there's this tiny "Fill Line" label just under the spout. It's hard to measure accurately since the kettle isn't transparent, but my guesstimate is that if you only fill to the "Fill Line," you're limited to slightly less than one quart. I put in 28 ounces before figuring I hit the "Fill Line" limit. For me, that's not a problem but if you're truly looking for 64+ ounce capacity ... look elsewhere. Some might consider the aforementioned "horn" a bad thing since it's so loud and not a "whistle" so I'll list it here as well. I prefer to hear it rather than not hear it but that's just me.

The worst for me is the dribble factor. I detest dribbling tea kettles and this one is pretty bad. I fill my mug over the sink.

UPDATE 7/4/13: Well, I bought it and despite the drawbacks mentioned above, kept it. Now, one+ year later, I can truly say it's not worth it. The enamel chips off the bottom and the whistle stopped working. 1 star for being pretty.

Best Deals for Corelle Coordinates 2-1/5-Quart Whistling Teakettle, Pretty Pink

I bought this as a gift and it was well received. It is cute and has a good finish on it. I had one similar to it but of a different pattern and it lasted years ~ until I ruined it by boiling it dry. Don't try this at homeit did no favor to my flattop stove either! :( The teapot is greatjust watch out for "operator error"! :) That's what the whistle is for!

Honest reviews on Corelle Coordinates 2-1/5-Quart Whistling Teakettle, Pretty Pink

I bought this to complement my dishes. I like it a lot. Adds beauty to my kitchen. The whistle sounds like a train and whenever the kids hear it,

they would both say "choo, choo the train has arrived. "

Just need to be careful when opening the pout to pour, it can get so hot.

I would recommend to use a pot holder when opening it.

These nonstick 9-inch Mexican oven pans are easy to use and clean up quickly just with a little soap and water...excellent product...if you like taco salads as I do these will be perfect for you...Enjoy!

Best Deals for Mexican Origins Nonstick 8.75-Inch Tostada Baker, Set of 2

These bakers are just what I was looking for and couldn't find locally. Even though they were out-of-stock when I placed my order, I received notification that they had come in sooner than expected. I was pleased I didn't have to wait too long. If I had, it would have been worth the wait.

What I particularly like about these bakers is the large size. This adds to their versatility. You can use average sized tortillas if you want a small taco bowl (note: they'll fill less than half way), but you have the option to go large with a burrito size tortilla for a show-stopper, main meal.

You can also use the bakers for ordinary salads, guacamole, dips, or to set out other dinner, or party snacks. With a little imagination, these are multipurpose.

It's super easy to remove the baked taco shell. It will just slide right out, or you can gently pick it out with tongs after a brief cool down. Then the baker is super easy to clean with a small amount of dish soap. They really are slick and non-stick.

And, lastly, I can see kids enjoying making their own taco bowl. This might even make them a little less resistant to eating those healthy salad fixings. It's a family, win-win, at an affordable price, too.

Honest reviews on Mexican Origins Nonstick 8.75-Inch Tostada Baker, Set of 2

I was surprised to find these are larger than I expected. In fact, my regular flour tortilla were too small for this pan. I went ahead and baked a couple small shells and in a 400 degree oven for approximately 5 minutes and they came out brown and crunchy. . Highly recommend these pans for those of you who love taco salads.

I just purchased this wok as I stir-fry frequently and wanted to try to stay away from chemical non-stick coatings. The product was shipped and received quickly. Here are the pros and cons as it currently stands.

Pros: It is a beautiful wok. It's the perfect size and heft. The lid is also a great bonus.

Cons: The wok comes with a protective coating from the manufacturer. The instructions that come with the wok on how to clean it for first time use are very poor. Per the manual: "To remove the wok coating before cooking: 1)Add 1 tablespoon cooking oil to the wok. 2) Heat wok medium to high heat. 3) wipe off with paper tower. Repeat if necessary. 4) Wash the wok with warm soapy water, rinse off." The rest of the instructions assume you've already removed the coating. On the first read it seems straight forward. But then I questioned whether I should wipe it off while the wok is still hot or after it's cooled off? And how would I know if the coating was completely removed and whether to "repeat as necessary"? I called the company (Taylor & Ng) and their voice mail was full. No one has responded to my e-mail.

So I tried to remove the coating while the wok was still hot. After many go-arounds with paper towels, the surface still felt sticky. I tried to swirl the pan to get the oil to the sides while heating it, but was nervous about starting a grease fire so I tried swirling the pan with the oil without heat, then heated it until the oil was loose, turned off the heat and swirled it some more before trying to remove with a paper towel. Even after doing this about 4 times, the sides still felt sticky. It got to the point where my kids were asking what the smell was and what was I frying?

So I'm not happy with not knowing if I've removing the coating adequately. The whole point in my buying a pre-seasoned wok was so I could avoid this oiling/heating business that is involved with seasoning a wok in the first place! Also I wanted to avoid using chemical non-sticks and thought that a natural non-stick would be the answer. At this point I wouldn't be comfortable cooking on this wok for fear that I didn't completely remove this coating placed by the manufacturer! In addition, there should have been mention in the instructions of having adequate ventilation as the fumes coming off the wok are very noxious!

If I successfully remove this coating and actually start cooking with it I'll amend my review, but so far I'm not pleased with this purchase.

Addendum: Ok the company did send me an email with this reply: "The clear food-grade coating becomes more pliable and "sticky" when the wok is heated with the cooking oil. This is what you will remove with the paper towel. The wok should not be overly hot or smoking, just medium heat. Use regular cooking oil, not olive oil. Once it is no longer sticky, the coating is removed." The coating *is* extremely sticky and I'm still having trouble removing it. It would help if the company had this additional information in their packet so as to avoid any ambiguities!

The quality of the wok itself is just fine, being preseasoned well. However, the wooden handle is loose once assembled, and turns easily in your hand when you try to manipulate the wok. This is not only irritating, but dangerous, as it could result in spilling hot oil onto the burner, or onto yourself. So, there is no flipping the food inside the wok with this model; merely fast stirring with the spatula.

It boils water. It looks pretty on the counter. It has maintained its luster. You can get your hand inside it to clean.

Beyond that it is just an expensive pot that doesn't have the usual features of a Tea kettle.

You can't pour water until you grab the hot plastic bird whistle and pull it out. With hot stream gushing out this is an interesting game. We went through a couple "birds" before we got one that even whistled and as many others have said, it doesn't sound like a bird. It sounds like the whistle of a guy who was just at the dentist. It also has a cheap wire spring clip and lasts about a month. We have some Alessi stuff. Some is good, some is like this, overpriced... way way overpriced. Did I mention that it is not worth the money.

I have owned this tea kettle for about 10 years. Not only is it fully functional as staple in my kitchen, it's adorable. Everyone who enjoys tea at my house comments on it. It is very durable, heavily constructed, and uniquely designed by Michael Graves. And of course, it "whistles". This is one tea kettle that you'll never have to replace; you won't be disappointed. It looks as good today as the day I opened the box. It's definitely a 5-star item.

Best Deals for Alessi Michael Graves Kettle with Small Bird Shaped Whistle

You know it when you see it, there is no other like it. I use mine daily and have for more than 15 years. I've replaced the bird once, though I did buy several extras. The first one broke after only a few months, but the replacement has been in use for the balance of the 15 years. The shinny finish is all scratched from cleaning and the bottom needs a really good scrubbing around the edges occasionally. There is some mildew build up in the rim on the bottom. I wish I'd taken better care cleaning it over the years, so it would have stayed all shinny, but with splatter from all the other things cooking on the stove, it required some scrubbing. If I'd thought about it, I'd have moved it off the stove when I was cooking other things. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd get another, but the one I have was a gift and hard to part with. So, bottom line, it holds up well, does everything it's designed to do. The handle is cool to the touch, but you do have to remove the bird to pour, so wait a minute after a full boil, and the bird should cool completely before replacing it, so it doesn't crack. It looks beautiful for years, but you should take extra care to preserve the original shinny look.

Honest reviews on Alessi Michael Graves Kettle with Small Bird Shaped Whistle

I have owned, and used daily one of these kettles since 1982 and I love it. Wouldn't own another. It looks like it did the day I purchased it. I've had to replace the birds about 3 times, and once one of them did break after a few weeks. The other two lasted for years. I've developed the art of pulling the bird from the spout quickly and have never been burned. If the kettle is overfilled, the owner will risk being burned when removing the bird because of hot boiling water rising up from the spout. Do not overfill it. This is the sturdiest tea kettle I've ever owned and I highly recommend it for any buyer. Before purchasing it I had gone through several expensive tea kettles only to have them break or chip. This kettle is outstanding, plus it looks classically beautiful!

The picture doesn't do the color justice. Its a rich plum color and fades into a bright violet purple on the bottom. Makes cooking a treat when you have a beautiful pan to work with. I love the rubber grips that came with mine which makes it wonderful for using stove top prior to oven roasting or just after. No need to constantly get an oven mitt while stove top.

It actually works. I don't know why. I even looked it up. I still don't know why. Something about absorbing enough heat to prevent foam from forming on the top of the boiling water which can suppress heat release and lead to heat build-up and boil over. But regardless my eggs boil away in the pot without boiling over. It rattles just a little on the bottom of the pot but now that I know what that is it's no problem. Kind of amazing how simple and effective it is.

I loved this tool. We used to have this for boiling milk when I was a child and when I found this at Amazon I was very happy. If the pot is very full with milk after a while it might boil over anyway, but it takes a lot longer ... I also use for boiling noodles, etc.

I've had one of these for many years, and decided I'd like to find a couple more of them. Lo and behold, Amazon to my rescue! These little stainless steel discs are simply practical and do an amazing job. No more worries, of the potatoes or squash boiling over again; these discs do the trick. I'm so glad that I found them at Amazon!

This product was introduced to me by my fiance! He had one in the past and loved it. We bought one for him and it worked so I bought 9 more for family and friends for Christmas. I would definitely recommend this.

No more boil overs ever with this little metal trivet. I use to have a glass one but would forget it was in the pan; when I applied cold water the glass would then crack.

biggest problem with these pots are the light weight. they will move around easily while cooking/stirring. and the thin lids will dent easy at the sealing area if dropped. love the non stick outer coating which is the best feature and very durable.
