I did not buy these through Amazon but bought them from my credit card rewards programs (used points) and I love them!! They heat evenly but I find I need to use lower heat then my previous pans (electric stove). They clean up very easily, if something sticks to them I let them soak for 20 minutes and everything wipes right off. I even forgot one of them on a burner, with oil in the pan (I could have had a fire) and the pan turned black!! I thought it was ruined but after it cooled down I used a bit of cleaner on it and it looked perfect (food stuck to it for about a month then it was fine again). I do not put them in the dishwasher even though they say they are dishwasher safe. With just a little oil and the correct temperature they work as well as my Teflon pans (which I still use from time to time for fried eggs) and they clean up much nicer than my previous Revere stainless steel, copper bottom pans.
The only negative thing I can say about them is the rivets take extra cleaning time when I make something that covers them, like my homemade pasta sauce.

Buy Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring Cup
Good looking 4 cup measuring cup. Exactly as described and pictured. Easy to read measuring lines and looks to suit it's purpose. If using other than in the kitchen, not quite certain how durable it may be if you happen to drop on ceramic or cement floors. Nice silicone handle cover to boot. As long as your careful with handling, I'm certain it will hold up just fine. Description indicates freezer and dishwasher safe but, NON MICROWAVABLE(which isn't indicated). Then again, not quite certain if there may be a plastic measuring cup which would withstand a microwave(If intended for microwave use, a glass measuring cup would be a wiser investment). Measuring points appear to be accurate, if not, as close to accurate as possible. Only time will tell if the measuring points will rub off or not(after repeated washings). Nevertheless, I consider these minor details and not worth knocking off a star for. So, IMO this one gets 5 stars. Certainly well worth the price. It will suit my needs for both liquid and dry measure quite well. Would recommend!

I have a need to measure 750 milliliters for my stainless soda siphon. My glass measuring cup large enough to hold that amount of water has a fairly large circumference that made eyeball measurement difficult. The oval shape of the Clipper and its slender profile meant more room between measurement marks making quite easy to fill to the correct line. I used it several times on the day I received it and have now dedicated this particular measuring cup to my beverage needs. If my wife needs to use it, I will buy her another one. Amazing how just the right tool takes the tedious out of task. If you needs are similar I highly recommend this measuring cup.Best Deals for Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring Cup
The plastic is sturdy and the markings are very clear and easy to read. One slight downside is that when filled to 4 cups it's very near the top of the measuring cup. Easy to pour, too.Honest reviews on Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring Cup
I really liked the measuring cup itself, but the handle soon broke at the spot where the black rubber ends and the clear plastic begins.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring Cup
This measuring cup was smaller than I imagined it would be, but I love this measuring cup after seeing how many levels of measurements it has on the cup. I use it more than the other measuring cups I already own. Price was right.Wednesday, December 31, 2014
Review of Staub Round Cocotte 8-7/8 Quart
I purchased this pot a few months back and it is probably the best I ownand I have tried to buy quality kitchenware. It is the first pot I reach for when making my family's favorite pilaf, or any other rice dish for that matter. Rice turns out perfectly every time. It can't be beat for soups and stews or other dishes that need to cook slowly over a long period of time. I've never had anything burn or stick to this pan. Love the nubs on the lid that drop moisture back into the pot and it's stylish enough to place directly on the table (with a heavy pad or thick wooden board underneath it of course!) The only drawback (expected) is the weight, which gave me problems when I dislocated my shoulder, but hubby and sons gladly did the lifting for me until I could manage myself. If I ever had to get rid of all my other cookware and chose only 3 or 4 pans, I'd choose this one first.
First and foremost is the metal knob on the lid. Before we had the Staub, my wife cooked pot roast in a stainless steel pot with plastic (phenolic) handles. A few times in the oven and the handles look like they're 100 years old. I have worked in the plastic industry for over 35 years and even at temperatures approaching 350 to 400 degrees F there will be eventual damage to the appearance (blisters) and structural integraty of the plastic knob, they will not however, as some have stated, melt. La Creuset sells a metal knob as a replacement, but why not just get a metal knob from the beginning?
Secondly, those little nibs on the underside of the lid, seem to do a great job of keeping everything moist. The pot roast turned out the best it's ever tasted, and my wife has been cooking this for many years. It's a great feature and one that many lower cost Dutch Ovens have coppied to some degree.
The black matt enameled interior is another great feature. It cleans easily and doesn't show any stains from cooking. I believe this is particularly important if you intend to use your baking dish as your serving dish.
Lastly, the colors of the Staub cocotte are in our opinion much more attractive. This is a matter of personal taste, but we like the deep rich grenadine color with it's translucent qualities far better than the opaque reds of competive products. We also favor the other Staub colors to those of the competion.
We have been extremely pleased with our Staub purchases and unlike the low priced stuff, this is not made in China where you have to be concerned about what you're cooking in, cadmium, lead, etc.
I could have fit more in the pot or maybe less. It is 2 nights dinner for 2 small adults and 2 toddlers. This is the perfect size if you ever plan on cooking for the holidays or roasting a chicken, etc. I do plan on getting a 4 quart, but this can be used for most things. For leftovers, just put in the fridge and reheat on the stove top.
This is one heavy beast, but me (105lb) have no trouble lifting it full. You must be careful removing anything hot from the oven. Did I mention it is absolutely gorgeous! I ordered a Le Creuset and ended up returning it. It seemed like half the pot of the Staub. The LC was thinner and the lid didn't seal very well. The handles were smaller and the pot wasn't as beautiful. There were way too many irregularities in the enamel as well.
I wanted to like the LC, but I have been converted. My husband saw it as well and he liked this one much more.

Beautifully crafted dutch oven from France on par with the Le Creuset cast iron pots but with a better, richer color and the self-basting lid. Matte black porcelain interior finish less likely to be marred by cooking and stirring. Overall an excellent value for a serious piece of cooking equipment.Best Deals for Staub Round Cocotte 8-7/8 Quart
My wife and I now own three sizes of Staub Cocottes, 2.5 qt., 5 qt., and 8 qt. These are absolutely fantastic for anything from baked beans to pot roast with potatos and carrots. The features we like:First and foremost is the metal knob on the lid. Before we had the Staub, my wife cooked pot roast in a stainless steel pot with plastic (phenolic) handles. I've owned Le Crueset pots before, and while they are wonderful, I fell in deep lust with this Staub 8qt in Grenadine while browsing at Sur La Table one day. I held out for a long time, but with a recent amazon gift card windfall for my birthday decided to go ahead and splurge. I love this pot, cooked steak soup, white bean soup and a roast in the past week and they all tasted 10x better than they normally do. This is my favorite kitchen item and I have a feeling this will be come my go to pot for everything from boiling potatoes to making slow braised ribs. If you are thinking about purchasing this, don't hesitate like I did = wishing I'd bought it years ago!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Staub Round Cocotte 8-7/8 Quart
I love love love my Staub enameled cast iron pot! I bought mine at a retail store that was discontinuing the sunflower color and I got a great deal on it. I used it for the first time today and I am very pleased. I would not want to go larger or it wouldn't fit in my sink to clean. This size gives me a lot of versatility. I just cooked 3.5 pounds of braised short ribs with veggies and potatoes. I only used salt and pepper. When they came out they were the most delicious and moist! The lid really self bastes and there are no drips when you open up the pot. You don't have to be exact with the timing. Also, you should cook at lower temperatures because the pot retains heat so well.I could have fit more in the pot or maybe less. It is 2 nights dinner for 2 small adults and 2 toddlers. So about 8 months ago I tried out my first set of ceramic pans. They were really nice and I liked them because they were a "green" and non-toxic solution to nonstick pans. They worked excellent with eggs and frying veggies and lighter fare but had a really hard time standing up to meat (and yes even with seasoning the pan appropriately yada yada yada). Every time I cooked red meat on my 10 in ceramic, it degraded the coating. Then one day I tried doing some fish on it, thinking it wouldn't be as bad, and it destroyed the pan in one shot. The fish skin stuck to the coating and nothing I could do would save it. I am certain this was partially do to the slow degradation over time but I was really miffed by this. Ceramic pan last 6 months and died. So, I decided to try something else. Found this stone earth pan and gave it a shot. WOW! What a difference. This seems to be one of those instances where the fad is winning out over good tech because this is superior in just about every way. Heat is more consistently distributed. It is more sturdy. Best of all, this cooks eggs and veggies just as well as ceramic but can stand up to heavier foods like steaks, burgers, fish, chicken, heavy sauces, etc. I wish I had found this first. Out of every non-stick solution I have tried old non-stick, hard anodized, ceramic, and now stone this is by far my favorite pan I have ever owned and I was sad to see it has gone out of stock and that I could not find this in 8 in and 12 in sizes with a crock pot and the whole nine yards. I want a whole set!!!!
3 month update: I have put this pan through it's paces use it at least every other day and it has shown absolutely no degradation in the nonstick coating. This is with seasoning the pan with oil each time and not turning it above medium as directed on the box. This pan continues to stand up to all kinds of food and cooking.
The pan has a solid, balanced feel to it, looks good, the handle feels good in the hand and has a solid heft to it as well. The pan is very flat on the bottom which is another huge plus!
The sides of the pan are almost completely vertical which I also like. I believe that this pan will keep me cooking for quite some time. I would like to see it offered in both a smaller and a larger size as well, if possible.
Even though I haven't had the pan long, I use it everyday and so far it has certainly met my expectations and by far exceeds the quality of the other three pans I purchased hoping for the quality the Stone Earth pan has provided.
I would definitely recommend this to others.

For my review on Quick Tattletials I received one STONEHENGE Ultra-safe 100% PFOA-Free Non-Stick Stone Coating From Germany, Stone Earth Pan, by Ozeri! This is the most awesome frying pan! Nothing sticks to it. You can fry eggs, veggies, burgers, chicken and everything else, without anything sticking to it! It's not light weight, nor is it heavy. It's just right! It's very easy to clean, just take a wet soapy paper towel or sponge to it. Make sure you season your pan, with ½ teaspoon of olive oil or vegetable oil. This pan is very Eco-friendly and perfect for everyday use. I would highly recommend, The Stone Earth Pan, by Ozeri!Best Deals for The Stone Earth Pan by Ozeri, with 100% PFOA-Free Stone-Derived
This pan makes my 4th attempt at trying to find a good non-stick frying pan. What a relief to finally find one that does what a non-stick pan is supposed to do...cook food without the food sticking and burning. And the cleanup is wonderful. Because what I mostly use it for is stir frying chicken tenders with onions and peppers in a small amount of olive oil and in the other pans the food eventually sticks some and would leave a burnt residue on the bottom of the pan that made clean up a chore. The pan has a solid, balanced feel to it, looks good, the handle feels good in the hand and has a solid heft to it as well. I have been pleased with its nonstick properties so far. It also is a very attractive frying pan. Is heavier than most frying pans which I like. After ordering I found out that it should not be heated above medium heat. The instructions said this would not be a problem as it has superior heat transfer. I have not found this to be the case. It seems what you save in cleanup time is counterbalanced by what you lose in cooking time. I have cheaper nonstick pans that I feel free to use at high heat. I reckon they will not last as long but for the price perform better if cook time is included in the equation.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Stone Earth Pan by Ozeri, with 100% PFOA-Free Stone-Derived
We've had the pan for a few weeks now. Love it! Takes only a small amount of oil and nothing sticks to it. I've made pancakes, eggs, stir fry, fish & chicken. No problem! The 10" pan is a nice size for cooking everything. I never notice the handle getting hot like my stainless steel pans. Directions say to not heat the pan more than medium heat, but I don't turn it up higher than that anyway. Not sure what would happen to the pan if I did. I don't put it in the dishwasher either, just hand wipe clean. My only gripe is that the pan is a little heavy but that may just be my wrist (injured years ago). Other than that, we use this pan everyday!Friday, November 21, 2014

I've used a lot of non-stick pans over the years, and sooner or later they've eventually started sticking or flaking off Teflon coatings. Generally I'd gotten cheaper pans and put up with the flaking into my food.
I researched pans a bunch on Amazon back in 2009, and decided to swing for some higher-end cookware, hoping that it meant durability would be better. After about two years of use, our All-Clad Master Chef 2 Nonstick 10-Inch Fry Pan started flaking on the top edge despite being fanatically careful about making sure it didn't get too hot, not using metal utensils anywhere near it, using any sort of abrasive pad washing it, or even washing it before the pan had cooled down. This correlated with the reviews I'd read, and the replacement process sounded like I'd be out of a pan for weeks, plus I wanted to get away from PFOE coatings.
We next bought a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, Red, which became our go-to pan, but despite all of the reviews swearing they were great for eggs, I've generally had to make an intended omelet into scrambled eggs because of sticking (even if I used a generous portion of butter or olive oil).
I started searching for PFOE-free pans after once again making a scramble, and stumbled across the Woll Nowo. The thing is bombproof. Titanium is awesome. Metal utensils is no biggie. It's a little slow to heat but like the Le Creuset, once it gets going it retains heat incredibly well. The pan cooks more evenly than the All-Clad. The detachable handle comes off easily, and can be put back on easily. I've cooked frittatas with it on the stovetop and then finished it in the oven, and it's all an easy motion. Be a little careful as the base of the handle can get pretty toasty after cooking for awhile.
Eggs never, ever stick. You can use less oil/butter/you name it, as nothing I've cooked in the last 2 months has managed to stick to it. Stuff I thought of as tricky is now cake. Omelets are a snap. This last weekend I made crepes in them, never needed butter or oil to coat the pan.
And given that the pan right now is almost $20 cheaper than the All-Clad, I feel silly for having put out more for something less durable.
There really isn't much to say. Except for the price, there is NOTHING bad about this frying pan. I liked it so much I went and bought the saute pan with lid.
I like it even more than that paper towel holder with rubber grips on the bottom so you can one hand tear it properly every time. And I _really_ like that thing.
Great product

If you can fry an egg in a skillet without anything no oil, no butter and not having to "season" the skillet then you have a great skillet and that is what I have with this skillet. I got it and washed it and fried and egg because that is the best test to see if the skillet is what they claim it to be and it is. Go and buy this now! It seems expensive but consider this will be the last skillet you will buy ever. The handle comes off with the push of a button which is handy for cooking in the oven and storage. I bought this rack to fit in an All Clad flared roasting pan that I got from Williams-Sonoma that originally came with an attachment for roasting a chicken. I went to WS to see if they'd just sell the rack, but no luck. After searching online for a while and not being able to find the same one I saw in the store, I settled with this one, knowing it was for the petite roti pan which had a rack that would also fit in my pan. When I got to the cart to checkout, the picture had changed to match the one I was originally seeking. The one that I wanted ended up being shipped (not the one pictured here, but pictured in the cart), and it worked out great. My only gripe is a "made in china" sticker which I could not get off cleanly and left a bunch of residue on the rack.Best Deals for All-Clad 3014 Rack Nonstick Petite Rack for All-Clad Petite Roti
What I got was not what was pictured. The picture shows the handles on the ends and the rack standing off the bottom holding the meat out of the grease. What I got had the handles on the sides and no standoffs so anything being roasted is sitting in it's own grease. Also, the dimensions are completely different and it will not fit my pan. Based on my experience, I would not order any rack shown because you don't know what the hell you're going to get. I have ordered a lot of stuff from amazon in the past and have never had a bad experience. I would stay away from racks. List Price: $34.00

I have owned this nutmeg mill for over 2 years a gift from my wife. The mill is good-looking and has the great advantage of keeping the nutmegs together with the tool. Its storage capacity is 4 to 5 average size nutmegs under the acrylic, plus one nutmeg being grated.
However, outside of being a handsome storage box for nutmegs, it is not greatly useful. The center spring which pushes against the nutmeg being grated is not very strong, and the cutting mechanism is not strongly abrasive. As a result, the mill will stop working before a netmug is fully processed, and leave you with about 1/3 of a nutmeg which cannot be milled. Also, because of the way the spring grabs the nutmeg (through small triangular teeth), it frequently start slipping against the nutmeg it is trying to hold in place. When that happens, you can grind as much as you want but nothing will come out, since the nutmeg is not being rotated.
Altogether this is quite frustrating. It requires constant adjustment. When the nutmeg is 2/3 down you still try to get it to grind but it won't, and you feel bad about throwing the remmant away. The worst, for me, is that I don't want to stop using it since it was a gift from my wife. So I am bound to use this ineffective tool forever...
If you are interested in a nutmeg mill, check out the spring-loaded Zyliss, I don't own it (obviously) but I have heard good things about it. Either way, unless you intend to have it for display only, stay away from this mill.
Once I started buying fresher, harder nutmegs the difficulties I'd been having stopped altogether. It was really that simple. When a nut has stopped shaving (at about an eighth inch thickness) I take it out and put a fresh nut in. Once that nut has been ground flat on the bottom I can return the previous partial to the chamber, putting it below the newly flatted nut, and it continues grinding until almost completely spent. The last of it comes out in a couple of chunks, but they're smaller than I'd want to shave on a microplane or grater with my fingers.
I give the grinder 4 stars only because it (like other Wm. Bounds devices) is fiddly to clean.
This nutmeg mill works very well. I didn't get it here, I got it at a local kitchen shop, and I have never regretted the purchase! Very easy to use. Loading it is not a problem: you just turn the top counterclockwise to open it up, press the nutmeg onto the little prongs, and put it back together by pressing down on the spring and turning it clockwise. The spring inside keeps the nutmeg coming even as you've worn the piece down. However, once the piece of nutmeg is worn down to a few millimeters in thickness, the spring doesn't work as well anymore and the ground nutmeg will come out more slowly. I usually take the sliver of nutmeg out and put a new one in when that occurs. That's the only problem I've ever had with this wonderful little gadget. And it's been in my stash of kitchen gadgets for three or four years now.
My bread pudding, spice cookes, peach cobbler, and all other desserts that call for nutmeg have never gotten better reviews than when I use this great tool. Granted, everyone loved my desserts before that, but since I switched to fresh ground nutmeg, people have enjoyed my baking even more.
In short, it's the best fancy gadget I've ever purchased for my kitchen. And I've really enjoyed having it in my coffee: it gives your home-brewed cup of joe that special "ritzy coffee shop" feel. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys baking or anyone who loves fancy coffee.

I, too, had the same complaints about this grinder evidenced by many of the unhappy reviewers .... until I discovered it isn't the grinder, but the nutmegs which came with it that were at fault; they were too soft. Perhaps the included nutmegs were stale, or perhaps I had allowed them to be subjected to high humidity, but until I had exhausted the supply which came with the grinder I constantly had to fidget with the nut to keep it shaving. Most frustrating was when the bosses that are supposed to impale the nut to fix it rigidly to the spindle simply chew a circle in the top of the nut while the blade holds it motionless from below.Once I started buying fresher, harder nutmegs the difficulties I'd been having stopped altogether.

I saw this grinder on display at a small kitchenware shop and gave it a few turns. It easily produced a cloud-like drift of the thinnest possible nutmeg shavings! Of course, I bought one, but mine never worked remotely as well. It had all the problems described at length by other reviewers -the spring slipping, the need to constantly readjust, not being capable of grinding the whole bean, seemingly not sharp enough. It was so different from the demo grinder that I contacted William Bounds and they sent me a replacement. It was to no avail. Wm. Bounds company advises putting the nutmeg into the receptacle, and then turning it upside down to screw the top on. I've faithfully done this, with marginal results and this action must be repeated many times during the life of one nutmeg bean. Apparently, some people have gotten a good model, which means that Wm. Bounds should really be taken to task for their poor quality control. I see that Peugeot is producing a similar grinder, and it may be worth trying. Or, since Wm. Bounds guarantees their products for life, I might just send this one back and try again. There is a $6 shipping fee; mail to: Wm. Bounds, Ltd., Attn: Repairs, 3737 W. 240th St., Torrance CA 90505 with your grinder, the description of the problem ("doesn't work"), your return address. Or there is always a little microplane grater at a much lower price, which works wonderfully.Honest reviews on William Bounds Nut Twister Nutmeg Mill, Chrome
I could take or leave the nutmeg that you get in a shaker jar. But I absolutley love fresh ground! I put it in my coffee, and if a dessert calls for ground nutmeg I'll grind it fresh. That is why I was thrilled to find a nutmeg mill of this quality. This nutmeg grinder looks nice, but only works about 5% of the time. You can grind until you're blue in the face and nothing happens. Unless you want to spend your day taking the nutmeg out, readjusting it and hoping something will happen, buy something else.Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This pan has been very very good. It is very well constructed and has an even heat inductance. It's heavy, but has a very comfortable handle and the non-stick surface has been the best I've ever used. This is certainly the most expensive pan I've ever owned, so I cannot comment on its performance next to other pans in it's price range, but it FAR out performs my previous fry pan (a $50 Calphalon pan from Target). In the end, my only real concern is the price. So far, I really do feel it's been worth it, but only time will tell. If the pan holds up well under extended use then it will prove to be a wonderful product worth the high price.
Quality and craftsmanship is something that Scanpan takes seriously. The pan is Pfoa-free and while it's safe for metal utensils, I've never used them on my non-stick skillets. I always use silicon or plastic utensils and I always hand wash them. Even though they almost always say dishwasher safe I just never like putting expensive items like this in the dishwasher. If you keep care of it, the pan will last a long time. With that said, the pan has gotten a bunch of use and has cooked all types of food. It has held up considerably well. It's not easily scratched and surface (inside and outside) maintains its finish.
I've not had any problems with food sticking in this pan or any other Scanpan that I've owned. Cooks evenly and works on smooth glass top surfaces (as well as most other cooking surfaces). Clean up is a snap.
The fry pan is oven safe up to 500 degrees. I find the weight of this particular pan to be of medium weight. Certainly not heavy, but not the lightest I've ever held. On the lighter end, somewhere in the middle. Of course, something of this quality is bound to have some weight to it, but it's still easy to handle and use. My only gripe with Scanpan are the sizes of some of their pans. At 10.25-inch, you'll likely find that most of your existing lids are not going to work.
Heats evenly, cooks beautifully with oil or dry -even made pancakes to test the heat conductivity, cooked them perfectly! Even better than my griddle designed to cook pancakes. This pan would be ideal for crepes also.
This is a fairly shallow pan, lower edges/sides than any other saute pan I have ever owned, I really love it -easier to remove eggs, pancakes and other delicate items. While the sides of pan are not deep enough to stir fry large amounts of veggies like fresh spinach or chard, it works great for most everything else including onions, asparagus, bell peppers, eggs and sauces.
The handle has a nice padded grip, easy to hold and the overall weight of the pan is very good, not so heavy it gives me carpel tunnel, but sturdy and solid quality -the thickness of the bottom of the pan keeps the base perfectly flat, even tho my oven burner isn't! And the non-stick coating may be the best quality I have ever used.
Excellent!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've owned a few Scanpan pans over the years. I also recently purchased a new ceramic glass top range and have slowly been replacing my cookware. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a solid, heavy pan. Strange instructions to heat first then add oil. Not sure why. Heats very fast. Handle is comfortable but I don't love the plastic feel. Although heavy, I did acquire a dent pretty quickly...maybe one of the kids dropped it. The non-stick is excellent. I would highly recommend this.Honest reviews on Scanpan IQ Fry Pan

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This has got to be the nicest non-stick surface I've ever used. I am not a master chef by any means. I like a lot of things extra well done and sometimes I accidentally burn stuff and have to scrub the charred food from my pans. The non-stick surface is like something that arrived from another planet. I can practically use one pass of a paper towel and get all the crud out of the pan. Unlike other non-stick surfaces, it's fairly easy to brown your food without adding a ton of butter. It's the only non-stick cookware I've ever used that advertises that the use of metal utensils is fine. We don't have an induction stove, so I cannot review that functionality but I've been very impressed with this light weight, but very durable pan. My other pans' lids fit this one perfectly as well. A fine piece of cookware for any kitchen.Friday, August 29, 2014

The real reason I have nothing negative to write about this Rice and Slow Cooker is because I had no expectations that it would be the same as the other non-stick surface rice cookers and slow cookers.
I expected it to be different cook differently and I expected it to contribute to my general health. IT HAS NOT DISAPPOINTED ME! I use it daily. I have cooked brown rice, white rice, wild rice mix, oatmeal, beef stew, lamb stew, chicken fricassee, split pea soup, lentil soup, black beans, ....... the list is just too long.
I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with this ceramic cooker. It is true that there is a small amount of rice that always sticks to the bottom of the pot. The reason for this is that I wanted to get rid of the poisonous non-stick surface on my previous rice cooker. This does not bother me. It is a very small amount of rice and it does not represent a large waste of food nor a large amount of money. My estimate is that it represents about $5.00 a year if you cook rice almost every day as I do. I am oh-so-very pleased to be rid of the teflon coated rice cooker. It's sitting in my Goodwill Industries take-away box.
If you are wondering... do I buy it? Do I not buy it? The answer lies within your expectations. Do you want to be healthy? This is not a non-stick surface! Yes... the rice WILL stick a bit only on the bottom. I soak it for 30 minutes and the rice comes right off. I handle the pot and the top with GREAT CARE. I follow the instructions that came with the manual. No extreme changes in temperature. You can't take the ceramic pot out right after cooking and pour cold water in it. If you think you might be banging the pot and top don't buy it... you will break it. It is not your old metal rice cooker. It is ceramic. It is somewhat fragile as all ceramic pots are. Do you want delicious food? Buy it. Do you want beef, lamb and chicken that you can cut with a fork it is so tender and juicy? Buy it. Do you want enhanced flavor in recipes you have been cooking for years? Buy it.
The product, the packing and the shipping were Amazon's usual EXCELLENT. I had it at my door 2 days after buying and it was packed extremely well.
I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COOKER to anyone that genuinely cares about their health and that is willing to be realistic in accepting that they are purchasing something different than what they are accustomed to. You will fall in love with it and use it many many times as I do!

Still 100% pleased with this purchase. I use it almost every day. Today I put some navy beans, water, carrots, potato, onion, garlic, swiss chard and lamb in my pot... pressed soup and went out with family. When I got back I had an excellent Tuscan Navy Bean Soup waiting for me. My apartment smelled DEELICIOUS!!!! I love this pot. I've cooked about 20 different types of rice in it and the more I use it the more I value it and am so glad I took the risk and bought it.

It's ok. It cooks rice well, but if you leave the rice in there for more than 20 minutes on warm expect rice to burn onto the bottom. Brown Rice burns more easily. We tried cooking it with more water, adding water to it after it was cooked to resolve the burning issue, but to no avail. We now cook the rice, trun the cooker off, and then remove it from the cooker and place it in the refrigerator. This is very disappointing because the main reason we loved rice cookers in the first place was that you could leave rice in the cooker for lunch and dinner and have fresh tasting steamed rice. Now we have to microwave whatever is left over. Also, there is a warning about leaving liquid in the cooker for too long. "If liquids have been soaking in the clay pot for a long time, a leak could occure. Use a dry towel to dry the outside surface of the inner clay pot." A little iffy when trying to make a stew, right?
Overall it does the job of cooking the rice adequately and is teflon/cancer free, but for all of the other advantages of having a rice cooker, i.e. leaving it on "warm" for a few hours, easy clean up, etc, it is not worth the money. I would suggest a ceramic rice cooker if you can find one at a comparable price. Good Luck!
1/2 cup steel cut oats
1/2 cup mixed grains(flax seed, quinoa, millet, barley, wheatberries, rye,
lentils, split peas)
2 1/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon spice, cinammon, ginger, turmeric, etc
cook on brown rice setting
top w/ frozen blue berries when done cooking, or raisins, or dried apricots

2 whopping servings of flavor, texture, fiber, iron.

The rice cooks much better than in the cheaper rice cooker I have. No "crunchy" rice at the bottom of the pot.
There's something about the clay cooking which cooks the food more evenly. It is also very easy to clean. There are many other features this cooker has which I haven't explored yet (the product comes with a recipe book), but even if it just made rice and stew I'd say it was an excellent buy!

I was very excited to receive this in the mail after only two days, thanks go to Amazon. My Fiance and I had been looking for a non-cancerous rice cooker as the teflon coated one we had was chipping outrageously. I was looking for something that would not burn the rice onto the bottom as I had read the stainless steel rice cookers had the tendency to do. I found this along with a few mixed reviews and decided to call the company themselves for answers to my questions. The woman on the phone was very nice and reassured me that the cooker had no teflon (multiple copies of the same review with that accusation were all over while researching) and although it would take about 10 min longer than our old cooker AND was a slow cooker combo, I decided to go for it.It's ok. It cooks rice well, but if you leave the rice in there for more than 20 minutes on warm expect rice to burn onto the bottom. Brown Rice burns more easily. When I read the reviews to this unit, I noticed the big complaint was that the clay pot had a tendency to crack or break. The company says you have to be careful with it when washing it, and not to allow severe temperature changes. Otherwise, everyone said that it cooked rice and other foods really good. It does cook good, but it has a tendency to burn the food at the bottom of the pot no matter what setting you use. Anyway, I figured I would really baby the pot when cleaning, etc. and treat it with kid gloves, but low and behold, I end up with a crack it the bottom of the pot after only four months of use. I have contacted the company by e-mail and voicemail and they do not respond. I wanted to like this unit, but I have no intentions of purchasing a new pot every couple months in order to use this cooker. They need to perfect the clay in the pot, upgrade the heating element design, and get some customer service, until then, I can't, with a good conscience, recommend this unit to anyone. Unless there is another company making clay pots, stick with a stainless steel unit.Wednesday, August 20, 2014
Reviews of Pinnacle 4-Quart Dutch Oven, Cranberry
This is a very nice dutch oven overall. The nonstick surface on the interior is great -virtually nothing sticks and it's very easy to clean. However, there is one fairly major drawback, and that is that the handles get so hot when you're cooking that you can burn yourself badly if you're not prepared for the extreme heat. ALWAYS use potholders or oven mitts when handling this item when it's hot. The handles are not protected or insulated in any way. This is really unfortunate, too, because the overall quality of the pot in all other respects is very good.

I bought the 8" skillet to supplement my 10 piece circulon Infite set. Non stick and dishwasher safe is for me. So far it's lived up to the advertising. I just toss the the cookware in to the dishwasher and it comes out great. Circulon Infite is non stick I can't figure out how they do that but omletes come out without sticking without being sprayed and without use of oil or butter.
I swore off all non-stick pans ages ago after realizing I was eating eggs sprinkled with chemical teflon flakes. I finally broke down to get something non-stick and small after breaking the 100th fried egg in an all-clad 6" stainless steel skillet (which are top of the line pans).
Pan received, immediately washed with soap, water and then....the tests!
Test 1: Put pan on stove, gas, moderate heat, broke one egg in pan, no oil, no nothing, salt, pepper. Used a plastic spatula to flip and on purpose was not careful, either cracking the egg or flipping. Another minute on other side and simply "slid" the egg from the pan to plate. Surprise! Egg was perfect over easy, Not broken at all, not even a risk of breakage, evenly cooked, white done, yolk "yolky", exactly as you'd get from your favorite greasy spoon, but....without the grease. Wow.
Test 2: I pre-make frozen hamburger patties with 93% lean and pre-spiced. 93% lean is notorious to be dry but it can make a super tasy, juicy burger if cooked right. I used super high lean to avoid the fat of burgers. To the pan test pulled one patty out the freezer and threw it in the pre-heated pan, medium heat, like a slug. Let it cook for 4 minutes. Hambuger bottom perfectly carmelized, flipped, top perfectly carmelized, inside medium and beyond belief tasty. All of the juices stayed inside the burger, moist, flavorful, blowing away in taste, juicyness, any "fat burger" that one might crave.
Test 3: Cheesy max grilled ham and cheese with grilled tomatoes. Put tomato slices in pan, they slid out after a little sear. Created sandwich, very little butter on outside bread, now tomatoes inside. Bread perfectly grilled, even brown, toasted, not burned. My favorite thing is to squish the grilled ham and cheese to ooze out the cheesy goodness from the side and make sure it all melts to lovely cheesey everywhere. Guess what, none of the cheese burned or stuck to the pan, yet was all melted. Wow. Cheesy, stringy melted cheese, out the sides of a grilled sandwich, no burn on cheese or bread, ham cooked, little sear when going past the bread of the sandwidch, the entire ham & cheese was perfectly grilled and nothing stuck to the pan. Nothing better than a gooey stringy grilled ham & cheese with grilled tomatoes inside.
This pan is a keeper! I have put it in the dishwasher as advertised and so far, so good, like new. This is not a typical nonstick, there are no fumes, no funky smell, no nothing (visible or to the nose), the nonstick is super strong, seemingly "bond" or has some sort of binding integrated into the other metal of the pan construction. Most nonstick to me looks llike someone hit a cheap pan with a spray can of coating and this one isn't constructed like that at all. It also washes with two strokes of a sponge, which sure beats chiseling out stuck cheese, eggs, brunt grease and so on with other pans! We'll have to see how long the pan lasts but this sure isn't your typical non-stick so far. Other features, clearly well conducting on heat and the heat is even too.
* Very Thick Bottoms Allows for even heating of cooking surface
* Great Nonstick Surface Really nonstick, no issues at all DO NOT use nonstick sprays or "heavy oils" as these will ruin the nonstick properties (read the instructions)!
* Requires Less Oils We were able to cut way back on the amount of cooking oils we use
* Durable
* Oven Safe
* Dishwasher Safe
*Important* Follow the manufactures instructions and you will have great results.

This review is for the infinite, 8" skillet.I swore off all non-stick pans ages ago after realizing I was eating eggs sprinkled with chemical teflon flakes.

I bought this pan because of all the excellent reviews, but I don't reach for it much. It's a nice pan, heavy, very non-stick, would be excellent for low fat diets/cooking. My guess is with the reviews of under 3 stars, they probably used oil or butter in it rendering it un-usable. The directions clearly state NOT to use butter or oil. That's where my biggest issue comes in as I eat low carb and can have butter and oil, but I can't if I use this pan and want to keep it nice. So, I've tried some eggs, they slide right out of the pan with no effort what so ever, but to me, without the added butter taste, they were kinda bland. Don't really have an interest in sauteeing veggies without butter or olive oil, so that's out. The pan's rather small, thought it would be larger, so can only cook small amounts in it. I've used it about 4 times, once it was too small so what I was cooking was going over the edge when I was gently stirring it, and once, out of 4 times, the handle got hot (wasn't over another lit burner or anything). The other 3 times the handle was fine. It really is a nice little pan if you are trying to remove some fat from your diet, it's just not for me.Honest reviews on Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Skillet
Beautiful high quality constructed pan. Works as advertised with my induction cooktop. Very even heat distribution, great browning and easy clean up due to the non stick surface. I'm so happy with this that I've purchased the 12" and the 6 Quart Saute. Just follow their recommendations on washing and cooking and it works great.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Skillet
We decided on the Cirulon Infinite cookware after looking at a lot of other brands. The quality and versatility makes this affordable (a relative term, I know) line of cookware a great value. After 6 months of heavy use, we are more than pleased with the durability and performance.* Very Thick Bottoms Allows for even heating of cooking surface
* Great Nonstick Surface Really nonstick, no issues at all DO NOT use nonstick sprays or "heavy oils" as these will ruin the nonstick properties (read the instructions)!
* Requires Less Oils We were able to cut way back on the amount of cooking oils we use
* Durable
* Oven Safe
* Dishwasher Safe
*Important* Follow the manufactures instructions and you will have great results.

This pan looks great but should not claim to be an "Omelet" pan. Tried numerous times to make Omelets but they all stuck to the pan right in the center. Yes, I used low heat & Butter, Pam, etc...but everyone stuck.
The poor quality of the handle makes me question the quality of the skillet as a whole and I'm concerned about how long this skillet will last me. That being said the actual pan portion of the skillet seems to be well made and hopefully will hold up.
A hazard to tender fingers and knuckles. I have made a jury rig solution by taping these sharp edges it remains to be seen if this is a permanent solution.

I was looking for a large oven-safe stainless steel skillet and ended up choosing this pan. Functionally the encapsulated aluminum-disk base seems to give good even heating. The polished finish on the pan is very good. I was surprised by the poor quality on the cast stainless steel handle. The polishing job done on the handle is very poor, which because of its shape has to be done by hand. The hang hole in the handle is uneven/jagged and looks cut by hand. Inside of the hole it's unpolished w/ black marks (which are from the casting) and there are other dings and blemishes in the handle. The poor quality of the handle makes me question the quality of the skillet as a whole and I'm concerned about how long this skillet will last me. That being said the actual pan portion of the skillet seems to be well made and hopefully will hold up.

This is an excellent pan that would rate 5 stars except for the sharp edges around the handle of the glass top.A hazard to tender fingers and knuckles. I have made a jury rig solution by taping these sharp edges it remains to be seen if this is a permanent solution.

Review of Calypso Basics 7 Quart powder coated Colander
This review and the photos I uploaded above are for the red 7 quart colander.
The overall quality is very good. The enamel finish is nice. The color is close to red-orange. The metal rim on the top is a little bit loose, but it's not really an issue; I don't think it'll come off. The handles are riveted, so I find them to be very sturdy. It could use some more holes on the edge of the bowl base for better drainage, but tilting it usually takes care of whatever water is remaining.
Dimensions (7 Quart): The top diameter is 13" and the handles extend another 1.5" each. The bottom pedestal is 8.25" in diameter. Total height is 6.75" (5" for the top bowl and 1.75" for the pedestal).

I got this in pink and loved it. But... it does chip and rust a little, and now doesn't look so great after just a few years. I'm now looking to replace it with something else. Although I'm all for whimsy in the kitchen, I think I'd prefer longevity.Best Deals for Calypso Basics 7 Quart powder coated Colander
Got this for my father-in-law for Christmas and he loved it! Beautiful and bright red looks great in his newly remodeled kitchen. It's also a great size when you're throwing a dinner party or just have a lot of kids to feed.Honest reviews on Calypso Basics 7 Quart powder coated Colander
I've only had my colander for a 3 months, and the enamel is already chipping and the metal underneath is rusting. Now, we do use it for a lot of draining pasta, so we're pouring boiling water through it. We also put it in the dishwasher to wash. But why would I want to have to treat a utilitarian tool in my kitchen with kid gloves? I expected better performance. So, now I'm looking for a colander that is just plain stainless steel. It won't be as pretty, but I'm hoping it will work better.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Calypso Basics 7 Quart powder coated Colander
Beautiful yellow color. I was looking for a pretty butter yellow colander and I was very happy with this one.
