Bearing in mind that for this really "cheap" price, it's a great product for $13.00! Yes, you can get each individual knife at the 99-cent store and they will be about the same quality. But by buying them this way, all together, all the knives will match! And you get the storage block for free. And they cut as well at something five times the price. Will they impress your mother-in-law? No. Will they do the job for which they are intended and last long enough for you to get bored with them? Yes. They're a good buy! -PS: Here's a repeat of a great hint I learned here: Do NOT cut or chop and then use the blade to SCRAPE your edibles off the cutting board. That dulls the blade quickly and sounds awful. Instead, simply cut or chop and then quickly turn the knife over and use the flat edge to scrape everything off the board.

As a college student this was perfect. It has more knives then I ever need and it was right in my budget. The advantage to this one is having the bread knife and the shears. Nice bonuses that come in handy all the time.

I bought this set for my son 10-months ago and surprisingly, he said the knives have held up really well. Still sharp and he said the same about the kitchen scissors. Not bad for the price!

Honest reviews on Sunbeam 70329.13 Westmont 13-Piece Cutlery Set

For thousands of years man has needed a tool with which to cut his food. Humans do not have sharp teeth like sharks so we need a tool that has a sharp blade. Last month I began a quest for an affordable and durable set of knives which would have most of the knives I would need for a long distance journey to a far away land on Amazon.

This virtual consumer jungle is filled with many types of knives and knife sets. Each product page promises that you shall become a true kitchen warrior if you purchase their product. Since I only needed to use this knife set continuously for 2-3 months I was willing to sacrifice some quality for quantity. I was not willing to spend more than $20, I had set spending limits for myself.

For a few seconds I considered buying the Miracle Blade knife set, but not a single knife in that set looks normal. They only seem to offer "mutant" versions of "normal" knives like cleavers, chef's knives, and steak knives. They also offer "mutant" forked bread knives, which probably bend when used like forks and when cutting the strange blade design probably becomes an obstruction.

I decided I would buy this Sunbeam Westmont 13 Piece Cutlery Set. The price was right and there were no negative reviews. This set also seemed to have most of the knives I wanted. I am an average guy with limited cooking skills, not a professional culinary specialist.

There are a total of 6 different knives in this set:

Chef's knife (1)

Bread knife (1)

Boning knife (1)

Utility knife (1)

Paring knife (1)

Steak knife (6)

11 knives, plus a pair of basic scissors/shears identical to those sold with at least 3-4 other knife sets(including the Miracle Blade sets), and a very basic wood block. I wish this set had a Japanese style chef's knife, I have never owned one of these but they seem to be designed for my needs.

In the past I have used mainly only 3 types of knives on a regular/daily basis. Bread knives, steak knives, and paring/peeling knives. Until I bought this set I did not use a chef's knife.

ALL of the blades on the knives in this set are "serrated", which means they have miniature cutting edges that look like teeth, like a hand saw. Normally only bread and steak knives have serrated blades. Here they are not only serrated but unconventionally serrated, by this I mean the "teeth" are very small and there is almost no space between them. The sharp points stick out and are very thin. The "teeth" were cut out only on one side, although both sides appear to have been sharpened. It is impossible to sharpen these knives(at home) because of the way the blade is designed, which means when these knives become dull(and that is a question of when not if) they will have to be thrown away.

The knives are not made from the best stainless steel as the price would suggest. After a month of use some are already developing yellow and grey stains(which I try to scrub off soon after finding them), and I don't use dish-washers.

I have not used the boning knife yet. I use the steak knives and utility knife for the same tasks (since the utility knife is just a larger steak knife), mainly cutting meats(sausages), vegetables(tomatoes), and such. I mostly cut up larger objects like potatoes with the chef's knife, I have to point out that this task takes some downward force to accomplish. The bread knife has received minimal use since I do not buy those long French/Italian breads and I use the chef's knife for many of the tasks I used to use the bread knife for. The paring/peeling knife has become a "butter" knife, because I have had difficulty peeling potatoes with it(probably because of the serrated blade). Sometimes I had to "saw" the skins off of the potato and it seemed to take too long. So I bought a separate paring knife(ProCook Professional Paring Knife) which has a blade better suited for peeling fruits or vegetables.

I expected I would not get a $300 value knife set for $15. Other sets sell for a price 3-4 times higher and from the reviews it is obvious they are the same or similar quality as this set. I think this set deserves around 3 to 3.5 stars.

I admit that I was sceptical when I first saw this knife set advertised, but since I've used it, I think it's a great value. I use it daily, but I would recommend hand washing each knife and drying before it sits and rusts. Although, I haven't seen any evidence of rust yet.

This is a solidly built glass lid that is well worth the price. But it's important that you realize that the 9.5 inches is a measurement of the full diameter of the lid, rather than a measurement of the inside rim. What this meant for me was that my 9.5 inch pan actually needed a 10 inch lid.

A good product. Just measure carefully!

I have gone thru 3 Black and Decker steamers. I love that you can set a timer on a steamer and walk away. But I use them so much they do not last! I decided to go with Universal steamer made by Circulon, because all my pots are Circulon, so this is a good match. Plus it's stainless steel, as I'm trying to get away from plastic!

I cannot just walk away and the timer go off, so I set the timer on my stove to go off, for the amount of time I need it to steam. This has been working for me just fine! Perfect size for cooking for two!

This is exactly what I was looking for in a steamer: well made, doesn't stain or tarnish, holds the steam in well and yet easy to remove.

I steamed beets, kale, and small lobster tails with this steamer and it worked wonderfully for all three. It's stainless steel and feels very well made no loose handles, no easily bent, and didn't stain with the beets.

this is a great small size vegetable press. i put it in the dishwasher and there is no damage. its almost big enough to put a block of tofu in to press, but i always have to break off a peice and put it on top. then turned upside down will drain the tofu well. its great for making tsukemono, because most of the time you want enough for just a couple of servings and not a large quantity.

Nice size for one or two. I have a much larger press, but really did not use it much as I am alone now. Perfect for making up some pickles daily. Seems a little pricey for it's simplicity, but.....

Best Deals for Pickle Maker Tsukemono Press Container Small #1945

I'm using it for the first time to lacto-ferment greens grown in the garden. I mashed up a bunch of crossed tatsoi greens with salt (3 tbsp per 5 lbs as per wildfermentation.com's recommendation, so that only came out to about 1-1/2 tsp. for the amount that fits in this Tsukemono press). I tasted and it seemed too salty so added MORE greens, had to really force the lid down, but it caught and held. Anyway, the greens did produce enough liquid to cover, and the spring in this press keeps the greens down below the liquid, and if I tilt the press, green liquid spills out from under the top, so that means gasses can escape. Perfect. For the amount of lacto-fermented greens I and MAYBE hubby can eat, this is a good size. And inexpensive. If you put it in your cart under "hold for later," next time you order something over $25, you can order this too.

this asian pickle maker is too small and weak. takes too long to pickle anything. also the spring for the press is too weak. the description

I needed a small sauce pan with a nonstick surface for Malt-O-Meal and cream of potatoe soup. I was tired of the the difficulty in cleaning my regular pans when the stuff gets burnt to the bottom. It was not easy to find a small sauce pan with a non-stick surface. It works great is extremely easy to clean. A little bit more pricey than a typical pan but worth it. One odd design flaw: When the pan is empty it will tip over unless the lid is on to weigh it down.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Some quick background about me... I cook almost daily. Prior to this Cuisinart set, my daily pans were a set of commercial non-stick anodized aluminum and a few pieces of Calphalon copper cookware (chef's pan, 3 qt. saute). I see my pots and pans as tools and not really works of art so my copper pans lost their brilliance years ago.

I wanted to write a review immediately but decided to make sure I got some real cooking time with them to see if there were any surprises. This review represent about two weeks of twice daily cooking experience with the Cuisinarts. I'll try to break this review down into the various components. If you have questions, I'll do my best to keep up with this review to answer them. I'll try to keep basic kitchen knowledge to a minimum but I feel that for a proper review a few things have to be mentioned. I'll sometimes compare them to my Calphalons when I feel it's appropriate.

Pans Interior & Cooking:

* If you're used thin bottom steel pans and/or teflon coated pans, be prepared for a very different way of cooking with these. It's not difficult. In fact, I'd say it's much better for most styles of cooking. But you'll almost definitely go through an adjustment period.

* The inside steel cooking surface on the Cuisinart's is very smooth. So much so that the sides of the skillets are like a mirror. The other interior surfaces are a nice "brushed" finish.

* As I mentioned earlier, these are not "non-stick" pans but cooking an omelette was easy with a generous amount of butter. Flipping the entire omelette with a flick of the wrist was effortless. Eggs are probably the only thing that I would still consider using non-stick for but, as mentioned, it's entirely doable if you want to stick with just this set.

* Heat distribution seems to be excellent. I don't have any fancy scientific equipment to measure but melting butter on the pans doesn't show any particular spots burning the butter faster than any other spots.

* The edges of all of the pots and pans are flared so pouring is super easy with hardly anything dripping down the edge of the pan. This is very well done.

* Cleaning has been effortless. A quick shot of dish detergent and some soaking when I encounter something stubborn is all it takes to clean them up. I haven't had any major burning incidents to test charred remains but if I do, I'll update this review. (If they're anything like my other coppers, it will take a little elbow grease to scrub out really bad burns but you probably won't be burning things often because these pans do such a good job of distributing the heat. Just something to keep in mind.)

* The bottoms of the pans are perfectly flat. No distortions.

Handles:

* I was initially concerned about the handles getting hot. In my first two evenings with the pans, I noticed that the handles would get noticeably warm when I cooked. However, both of those nights consisted of recipes where the pans weren't heated for long periods of time.

Fortunately, in the last few days, I've been able to test with longer cook times. The 5qt. saute pan served up a nice curry and was under heat for an hour while things simmered. The handles performed fine. They still get warm but never to a point that was anywhere near "hot."

* Unfortunately, the handles are very uncomfortable to use. The ends of the handles are very squared off and if you are in the habit of reaching near the end of the handle the sharp corners dig into your palm. I do not like this at all and feel that the more contoured end of my Calphalons are much better designed.

* On the flipside, the squared ends allow for a nice sized holes which makes hanging them from a hook super easy.

* This isn't necessarily a big con but I also feel like the rivets used to hold the handle to the pans are a bit wimpy looking. I doubt it will affect long term performance but it's definitely something I noticed right away.

* The handles have a nice curve to them which your thumb rests in. This makes it very easy to turn the pans to pour things from them.

Lids:

* The lids are my biggest complaint, by far. They feel so thin and flimsy. This is not something that has impacted the cooking in any way. However, every time I wash them I am concerned about placing them vertically in my drying rack. It feels like one misstep or accidental push while they're wedged in the rack and the rim of a lid might bend.

* A quick comparison to show how drastic this is: I weighed the Cuisinart 5qt saute pan lid. It weighs 540grams. I weighed the Calphalon 3qt saute pan lid. It weighs 538grams. There is a considerable size difference between the two but they weigh almost exactly the same. Unfortunately, I don't have a micrometer to measure the thickness of these but holding the two lids together you can visibly see how much thinner the Cuisinarts are. For a set of pans this expensive, I do expect every part to feel more sturdy. This complaint extends to every lid in the set.

* The lid handles are nice and big. They are easy to grasp even if you're using a towel or heat pad to protect your hands. The shape is easy to work with. Zero complaints about the lid handles.

Upkeep/Finish:

* Out of the box, these pans are gorgeous. The copper is beautiful and spotless and shines like a mirror.

* If you've never cooked with copper pans be prepared for a color change after the first few heat cycles. They will start to change to different colors. Mine took on a beautiful purple tone. If you like this, great. You're done. If you want that beautiful copper color back you will need to occasionally use a mild copper cleaner. Cuisinart included a nice quick instruction on how to do this with some household materials (vinegar, salt, etc). There are also premade cleansers you can buy. They'll all work fine and get the shine back. I mention this because I've read many people who are new to copper pans think that something is wrong with the pans or they've messed them up. This isn't the case, it's just how copper works. If you find this troubling, you might consider pans with an aluminum or steel exterior.

Size/Selection:

* Overall, the selection of pan sizes is nice. It's a pretty personal decision what pan sizes you need. I am very excited to have a 5qt. saute pan. It will hold *a lot* of food and because it's so wide you can reduce things very quickly. I also love the 8" skillet. It's easy to wield and even my rather tiny wife can flip it easily. The sauce pans are a bit small in my opinion but, again, this comes down to your personal needs. There is nothing "wrong" with the sizes. The 8qt. stockpot is pretty much the gold standard size for these types of pots.

* Personally, I feel the steamer basket is a bit of a waste. You can pick up a cheap steamer almost anywhere and it will be just as effective. I wish they'd taken the steel from the steamer and used it to make thicker lids.

General Thoughts/Final Conclusion:

* A very good set of pans for the money. I am sure they will serve me well for decades to come. My two biggest complaints are the uncomfortable handles and the razor thin lids. If not for those, I'd easily give five stars.

* Should you get this set of copper pans or a competitor's set which costs almost exactly the same? There's no easy answer here. If I were making this decision, I'd take a close look at the individual pieces and decide which sized pans I need the most and use that as my main criteria. The quality of all the cookware in this range has gotten incredibly close to each other.

Anything I missed about this set? Please leave a comment and I'll do my best to get you an answer.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Took me a while to do a comprehensive review of the Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-piece Cookware set. Running the whole 11-piece cookware set into its cooking paces take a while to do, but the cooking results will satisfy your cooking endeavors. It is the best cookware I have every used.

My impressions:

DESIGN: the Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-piece cookware set is designed just like any other modern, conventional cookware as far as the shape is concerned. But this is where the comparison stops as far as shape design for there is one VERY HUGE difference -the exterior (bottom and side walls) of the cookware (except for the steamer) is coated with Copper. If you remember your periodic table of elements, Copper is a metal with a very high thermal and electrical conductivity. This means that when this cookware is subjected to conventional household cooking heat, whether it is gas or electric, it absorbs heat pretty quickly. With the Cuisinart CTP-11AM, heat is distributed evenly on the cookware's exterior, allowing the food to cook without raising the heat. The high thermal conductivity of the copper coating allows you to utilize high heat at a lower setting. The cookware's interior surface is reflective, non-stick stainless steel. There is a drawback however with the surface: you have to use plastic utensils to avoid scratching the surface.

COOKING: the Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-piece cookware set can be used in both gas and electric burners. With the exterior copper coating on the bottom and sides of the CTP-11AM, it is even oven-safe up to 500 degrees. My real-world cooking test exceeded my expectations in every way. The pans does not take a long time to heat and the heat is distributed evenly throughout cookware. Low heat setting is all it needs. The copper coating utilizes and absorbs heat easily and evenly, cooking time is reduced considerably.

MAINTENANCE/CLEANING: the non-stick stainless steel interior of the Cuisinart CTP-11AM is very easy to clean: hot water, dish washing soap and a soft sponge is all it takes to remove any after cooking residue. To preserve the stainless steel finish, do not use pads that are metal or has rough surfaces. If the residue is tough to remove, let the pan sit on hot water to soften the residue. Once softened, rub a soft sponge with detergent and rinse it with hot water. This should remove any kind of tough residue. Cuisinart does not recommend cleaning the Cuisinart CTP-11AM in a dish washer because of the abrasive chemicals in detergents made for dish washers.

I am very happy with how the Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-piece cookware set has performed and exceeded my expectations. Aside from the fact that it is sturdy and well made, it is also appealing the copper coated exterior easily catches your eye. I am sure this set will last me a long time. Highly recommended!

Best Deals for Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-Piece Cookware

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We have been happily using our Cuisinart pots and pans for the past three weeks. The first thing I noticed about quality cookware is how heavy it is and how well built it is. These are beautiful pieces that look great in our kitchen. The great thing about cooper is that it is a better heat conductor than the $20-a-piece pots and pans we have owned the last 10 years that we bought from a retail store. We feel like we are using real cookware now and our food cooks faster and more evenly.

The stainless steal makes clean up a breeze as well. We have no complaints about this set and are very happy with our purchase.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart CTP-11AM Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 11-Piece Cookware

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is probably the end all cookware set for someone who puts a premium on the aesthetic quality of your posts more than anything else. These are the show-stoppers, the big kahunas, the pots you want hanging from a cage over a center island in that million dollar house you are currently staging. Real estate agents should definitely have a set of these in their trunks. I've never really considered storing pots and pans outside of a cabinet but these can become the centerpiece of your kitchen.

The copper changes color after some use and I've been Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ to keep them clean. These pots heat up real quick and I can't tell if they are non-stick or not. Food does not seem to really stick them but they aren't as food-free as non-stick pots that I have so I'm not 100% sure. These take a little bit of getting used to because you don't need to cook on high heat with them. The copper conducts the heat throughout the whole pan and it does its job very well; these heat up quick. The handles aren't super comfortable but they never get too hot which is nice. The lids are thin which is a bit off putting but I don't think actually affects anything. Glass lids on copper might be strange but I do like being able to see into whatever I'm cooking.

I've never had a small 8 inch skillet before I actually like using for cooking things like a single chicken breast or two sausages, very handy. Also the angles of the handles coming out of the pan are perfect for hanging.

Overall I'm very happy with this set and would recommend them to anyone willing to put in a bit of work to keep the exterior clean.

I bought the 8" skillet to supplement my 10 piece circulon Infite set. Non stick and dishwasher safe is for me. So far it's lived up to the advertising. I just toss the the cookware in to the dishwasher and it comes out great. Circulon Infite is non stick I can't figure out how they do that but omletes come out without sticking without being sprayed and without use of oil or butter.

This review is for the infinite, 8" skillet.

I swore off all non-stick pans ages ago after realizing I was eating eggs sprinkled with chemical teflon flakes. I finally broke down to get something non-stick and small after breaking the 100th fried egg in an all-clad 6" stainless steel skillet (which are top of the line pans).

Pan received, immediately washed with soap, water and then....the tests!

Test 1: Put pan on stove, gas, moderate heat, broke one egg in pan, no oil, no nothing, salt, pepper. Used a plastic spatula to flip and on purpose was not careful, either cracking the egg or flipping. Another minute on other side and simply "slid" the egg from the pan to plate. Surprise! Egg was perfect over easy, Not broken at all, not even a risk of breakage, evenly cooked, white done, yolk "yolky", exactly as you'd get from your favorite greasy spoon, but....without the grease. Wow.

Test 2: I pre-make frozen hamburger patties with 93% lean and pre-spiced. 93% lean is notorious to be dry but it can make a super tasy, juicy burger if cooked right. I used super high lean to avoid the fat of burgers. To the pan test pulled one patty out the freezer and threw it in the pre-heated pan, medium heat, like a slug. Let it cook for 4 minutes. Hambuger bottom perfectly carmelized, flipped, top perfectly carmelized, inside medium and beyond belief tasty. All of the juices stayed inside the burger, moist, flavorful, blowing away in taste, juicyness, any "fat burger" that one might crave.

Test 3: Cheesy max grilled ham and cheese with grilled tomatoes. Put tomato slices in pan, they slid out after a little sear. Created sandwich, very little butter on outside bread, now tomatoes inside. Bread perfectly grilled, even brown, toasted, not burned. My favorite thing is to squish the grilled ham and cheese to ooze out the cheesy goodness from the side and make sure it all melts to lovely cheesey everywhere. Guess what, none of the cheese burned or stuck to the pan, yet was all melted. Wow. Cheesy, stringy melted cheese, out the sides of a grilled sandwich, no burn on cheese or bread, ham cooked, little sear when going past the bread of the sandwidch, the entire ham & cheese was perfectly grilled and nothing stuck to the pan. Nothing better than a gooey stringy grilled ham & cheese with grilled tomatoes inside.

This pan is a keeper! I have put it in the dishwasher as advertised and so far, so good, like new. This is not a typical nonstick, there are no fumes, no funky smell, no nothing (visible or to the nose), the nonstick is super strong, seemingly "bond" or has some sort of binding integrated into the other metal of the pan construction. Most nonstick to me looks llike someone hit a cheap pan with a spray can of coating and this one isn't constructed like that at all. It also washes with two strokes of a sponge, which sure beats chiseling out stuck cheese, eggs, brunt grease and so on with other pans! We'll have to see how long the pan lasts but this sure isn't your typical non-stick so far. Other features, clearly well conducting on heat and the heat is even too.

Best Deals for Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Skillet

I bought this pan because of all the excellent reviews, but I don't reach for it much. It's a nice pan, heavy, very non-stick, would be excellent for low fat diets/cooking. My guess is with the reviews of under 3 stars, they probably used oil or butter in it rendering it un-usable. The directions clearly state NOT to use butter or oil. That's where my biggest issue comes in as I eat low carb and can have butter and oil, but I can't if I use this pan and want to keep it nice. So, I've tried some eggs, they slide right out of the pan with no effort what so ever, but to me, without the added butter taste, they were kinda bland. Don't really have an interest in sauteeing veggies without butter or olive oil, so that's out. The pan's rather small, thought it would be larger, so can only cook small amounts in it. I've used it about 4 times, once it was too small so what I was cooking was going over the edge when I was gently stirring it, and once, out of 4 times, the handle got hot (wasn't over another lit burner or anything). The other 3 times the handle was fine. It really is a nice little pan if you are trying to remove some fat from your diet, it's just not for me.

Honest reviews on Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Skillet

Beautiful high quality constructed pan. Works as advertised with my induction cooktop. Very even heat distribution, great browning and easy clean up due to the non stick surface. I'm so happy with this that I've purchased the 12" and the 6 Quart Saute. Just follow their recommendations on washing and cooking and it works great.

We decided on the Cirulon Infinite cookware after looking at a lot of other brands. The quality and versatility makes this affordable (a relative term, I know) line of cookware a great value. After 6 months of heavy use, we are more than pleased with the durability and performance.

* Very Thick Bottoms Allows for even heating of cooking surface

* Great Nonstick Surface Really nonstick, no issues at all DO NOT use nonstick sprays or "heavy oils" as these will ruin the nonstick properties (read the instructions)!

* Requires Less Oils We were able to cut way back on the amount of cooking oils we use

* Durable

* Oven Safe

* Dishwasher Safe

*Important* Follow the manufactures instructions and you will have great results.

This looked like a nice pan for the 5 minutes I had it. I ordered it because it says it is made of stainless steel and I bought an induction "burner" and this pan to go with it. Turns out that the pan is aluminum which won't work with the burner. Amazon sent the return form and it is on it's way back unopened and unused.

My wife wanted a ceramic pan but most of the ones I've seen were aluminum and I wanted a good stainless steel one since I don't cook with aluminum.

She uses a wooden spatula whenever using this pan but loves that she doesn't need oil to keep things from sticking and it has a nice size to handle most of the meals that she cooks for our 5 person family.

It cleans easily and has become her favorite pan. Highly recommended.

This is aluminum and not stainless steel. That said I figured if I didn't like it I could send it back as not as described. I love the aluminum pan! It is holding up well with no scratches in the coating. I use non-metal utensils only. If I were forced to find something wrong it could only be that it is too slick I often have trouble trying to get a spatula under the food I am cooking.

CUTTING-4.5 stars; SUCTION BASE-5(i like the mechanical suction base it has better than the ones with suction cups);

CONSTRUCTION-(only used three times so far, seems a little flimsy, but then again its not a $100+ industrial one) sooo-4 stars; and it easy to interchange the cutting sizes.

overall very happy:)

This is my 2nd time back...having problems w/ blades..blades keep falling out of blade unit..now I give it 2 stars

I bought this thing for making french fries. It's nice that you can fit a medium sized potato in it, but the handle bent the first time I used it. I couldn't bend it back without tearing up the potato cutter further. I will likely be returning it.

Do not buy. Blades are very flimsy and... even after being extremely careful, I managed to break the first blade on the second potato. Do your self a favor and believe me AND the other reviewers that say, "spend the extra money and get a professional cutter"

Honest reviews on Progressive International Deluxe Potato Cutter

Progressive International Deluxe Potato Cutter

I have used this handy kitchen tool several times per week for nearly a year now. I love this thing!

I have shredded cabbage with it, diced onions, cubed potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash; cut peppers, cucumbers, carrots and more. The secret to success is to only use firm, FRESH produce. If your produce is starting to get a little soft or rubbery, you'll be better off reaching for a knife instead.

So, when you first get that sack of potatoes, pull this puppy out to cut and freeze your own french fries! I toss them into ice water immediately after cutting, then double ziploc bag handfuls of them and freeze.

To dice or cube, make the first regular cut, then take those, rotate 90 degrees, reinsert and cut again. Safe, effortless, quick and easy meal prep for the home cook at a reasonable cost.

The unit sits comfortably and solidly on the counter with the base rubber grip. The stainless steel construction is not industrial strength, but not flimsy either, and is adequate for its purpose. Highly recommend.

I was excited to find a stainless model of the Progressive Potato Cutter but ended up disappointed by this unit. Although it's mostly metal, it still has a rather flimsy feel to it. I tried both potatoes and yam fries but found it too difficult to use. Larger spuds need to be cut down to fit, and it's just hard to get enough leverage from this design. Works okay on smaller potatoes but 2" fries just aren't as much fun to eat. Returned it, still looking...

We have several Lodge products and LOVE them all. Made in USA, lead-free product. We have just about switched out all our copper bottom, stainless cookwear for cast iron. I highly reccommend Lodge cast iron products. They are preseasoned and come with a small booklet that is a handy basic "cast iron 101" guide.

I called Lodge and they verified that this is the same skillet as the 12" L10SK3. This package includes the glass lid. Mine was packed OK by both Lodge and Amazon.

We often use this skillet for making pizza, and it is equally brilliant for wilting veggies, baking a skillet cookie, bread, etc.

Honest reviews on Lodge Skillet with Glass Lid

I cook absolutely EVERYTHING with this skillet! I was raised on cast iron and was lacking any of my own when I first got married. I haven't found any other pan that cooks the way I want short of cast iron. This was a reasonable price and included a lid which is very helpful. So long as you know proper care of cast iron, this item will not disappoint.

Indestructible! Oven to stove top and back. There are many special recipes that use iron skillets and now I have them all. I grew up with these as a mainstay and now I can recreate those dishes.

Received pan which was very tinny. The rack was broken at a solder point and was partially rusty. Not a good value at all.

Being Stainless Steel and great workmenship. this pan is great for anything and cleans up so quick!

Best Deals for Cuisinox Rectangular Roasting Pan with Rack, Stainless Steel

Yes, if you push on the bottom, it buckles a bit. Sort of like when I first started out and bought three or so aluminum foil roasting pans. (They worked but weren't particularly stable, and a knife could puncture them, though a knife won't easily puncture the Cuisinox.) Also, the rack in the one I got is flimsier than what's pictured...more like a cooling rack for cakes. The good news (and why I ordered it) is that it will fit in the oven of my teeny-tiny 22"-in stove, because the handles (which are as flimsy as the rack and I probably wouldn't use anyway for lifting) lay flat and don't add to the overall length. I ended up with the Farberware 16.5 x 13.5. which are its EXTERIOR measurements. So it's actually smaller, but VERY well made and holds a 16-lb. turkey easily.
