This Bunn BX-B 10-cup coffe brewer is a pricey but fantastic coffee maker for your home or small office. I bought one for my office, so that I can make myself a quick pot of coffee when I get to work or whenever someone stops by to visit my office during the day. This machine makes coffe FAST and the flavor of the coffee is always consistent. Although I have never found many of the Bunn coffee makers to be much of a fashion statement, this unit is fairly high-tech looking, with its black and stainless color combination. Since the water flows out of this unit so quickly, using a showerhead type spray pattern, I highly suggest that you always use genuine Bunn coffee filters as the store brand filters are usually not tall enough, causing the ground coffee to splash up and over the edge of the shorter filters.

One noteable difference between this and most previous pour-over Bunn models is that this unit does not require the use of a seperate water pitcher. You simply fill your coffee pot with water, lift the little door on the top/front of the unit and pour your water in. The most important step is to place the coffee pot on the warmer plate, being sure to center it properly, before lowering the door on the top of the coffee maker. As soon as you lower the door the water will start to flow quickly. If you lower the door before you place the pot underneath, you will likely end up with a bit of a mess. Also, I recommend that you insert your filter and pour in your measured amount of ground coffee before pouring water into the Bunn, because even with the door up I find that some water tends to drip from the output nozzle, causing water to drip down onto the warmer plate. I fill my pot with water, set it aside while installing my filter and ground coffee, then pour in my water, center the pot on the warmer plate and then lower the door. This has produced proper function every time, without any mess to clean up.

Pricey for a basic coffee maker

The cons are somewhat minor but the lack of an automatic shutoff really bothers me. I ended up purchasing a seperate digital appliance timer, which I plug the Bunn coffee maker into, so that I can set power on and off times. This way I don't have to worry about leaving the warmer plate turned on over night or over the weekend. Overall I am extremely happy with my Bunn BX-B coffee brewer. It is easy to use and makes a great tasting pot of coffee in just under 3 minutes. It is also a great device for producing plain hot water. If you exclude the filter and coffee this unit produces a pot of very hot water in less time than it takes to make the normal pot of coffee. This is great for making instant coffee, hot chocolate, tea, instant oatmeal, etc. The BX-B carries a pretty hefty price tag (as all Bunn models do), but it is built well and makes excellent coffee in a flash. If you believe that time is money (as I do), then the Bunn BX-B is worth every penny for all of the time you'll save. =o)

This is not my first Bunn. The one I just replaced gave us many years of

faithful service. The reason I made this purchase is the age of the old one and an occasional strange noise. I did not want to get caught without a coffee pot. The new Bunn arrived very quickly and I am pleased

with the way it looks. However, the quality is not the same as the old

one. Also this pot sprung a leak after a few weeks of using it. I will probably have to replace this one much sooner than the last one. I will

see what else is on the market at that time.

Since I wrote this review we contacted Bunn about the leak problem. They

promptly replaced the pot with a new one. I would highly recommend dealing with the Bunn Company. We love our new pot.

I bought this to replace an older Bunn which I loved, but was accidentally ruined by my wife. However, the new model does not heat the water hot enough. I performed several tests and the water conistently comes out at 180 degrees. This is below Bunn's stated temperature of 190. Ten degrees may not sound like much, but it makes a big difference.

I usually put a pot of coffee in a thermos after it is brewed. Since the Bunn's brewing temperature is so low, the coffee does not stay warm for very long. I believe that a good coffee maker should heat the water a little above 190 so that the coffee comes out hot.

I believe other reviewers have had the same complaint. I sure wish Bunn would go back to their old design. I think this is going to be the last Bunn I will purchase.

I have owned both old and new versions of the Bunn home coffee machine. I have gone through 3 of the home brewers in an office environment where they work 24 hrs. a day and are never subject to deliming or other maintenance .. other than normal washing.

At home I've owned Bunn home coffee machines for the last 20 years; I'm on my 5th one. Forget the Mr. Coffee and those digital-timer wonders that are ok, but just don't work that well.

I have noticed quality control issues with the newer models that are a little disturbing .. I don't like the straight design of the new coffee decanter ... the old onion-dome classic is what I really liked because the decanter just worked better .. balance with a full pot in hand, no spilling or sloushing problems .. and yes, it goes naturally back where it is supposed to go .. wish Bunn would get this right again and just give us the retro-classic machine!

Secondly, my older machines all lasted longer than the newer models .. which have problems with the lighted switch sometimes going out .. and the older machine was just better built .. even the switches (a very simple design) was superior to the cheap switches they now use .. and replacement is expensive for what you get.

Nothwithstanding these problems the Bunn home brewer makes excellent coffee and does it fast .. wish they'd get control of the quality issues and make replacement parts less expensive .. I recently lost that little sprayhead .. probably a 30 cent part that costs you $7 for shipping alone, c'mon Bunn .. as much as these machines go for new .. you should just give these away.

PS: the old decanter was much better .. I don't like the new decanter and don't care that it is made from Schott glass .. it feels too thin; and more importantly the styling is terrible.

I don't normally review a item after owning it just over a week, but today I decided I should review the Bunn BX. Like I said, I have only owned it just over a week. No problems setting it up, just follow the instructions. It has made good coffee from day one. I love getting it ready to brew and then going out to get the paper. It's ready before I can get out the door. With my old brewer, I still was waiting after I started reading the paper.

This morning put the icing on the cake for me. I had just put coffee in the basket when the electric went out. I thought No coffee. There was a cup left from yesterday, maybe I could heat it in the microwave, but could not even do that. Then it hit me, there was heated water in the tank. All I need to do was pour the cold water in to push that hot water out. So five minutes into a power outage, I was brewing a nice hot "5 star" cup of coffee. I would think one could brew coffee even a half hour into a power outage.

The only down side to the Bunn is that it is not a 12 cup. But I can put up with that after this morning.

I purchased the pan because of its depth and thought there couldn't be very much wrong with it. It's quite thin, but I don't consider that as a problem, it heats up quickly this way and is easier to handle than a heavy steel pan.

However, this pan is not usable on flat burners (like an electric kitchen stove). The bottom is (I'm not sure whether it happened during seasoning) shaped a bit like a bowl and not flat, so there is very little contact with the stove and it doesn't sit properly on the burner. That doesn't matter for gas stoves, but in my case the pan is pretty much unusable. The vendor of the pan also did not respond to my inquiry about this issue. So either I got a defective pan or it's just this bad. Luckily, I could just turn it in to Amazon and can buy a different pan now.

I have several de Buyer iron skillets which I dearly love. With proper care they are as close to nonstick as it gets. I thought that this paella pan would be a similar quality, but not so! I think that black steel is probably a good material for a traditional pan, but the

problem is that they use so little of it! Any thinner and it would be foil! I would not be so upset if I had purchased this pan at a dollar store, but I paid a hefty price for very little quality.

My advise would be to buy a deBuyer if you're looking for a high quality traditional pan that you can pass down to your kids and grand kids. So, in a nut shell, I'm very disappointed w/ this purchase!

I actually use these British Prestige gaskets on a Fagor six quart stainless steel pressure cooker which we bought in the U.S. The original Fagor gasket lasted for only two months or so and their replacement gaskets were expensive and difficult to obtain. When we had moved back to the U.S. from having lived in Wales and England, we had brought a few of these British-made Prestige gaskets with us. I found that they fit the Fagor lid perfectly and last much longer than the Fagor gaskets. After we ran out of our self-imported gasket supply I found these on Amazon. I ordered them and they arrived very quickly from the first-rate supplier. They work on our Fagor pressure cooker just as well as our first batch of gaskets.

This gasket was not intended to fit my Farberware pressure cooker, but by reading one review it said it would fit a 9 3/4" lid, and it looked similar. My cooker had a lid that size and I had hoped it would fit, and it did not. My cooker was made in the UK and I could not find one in the USA, so I gave it a shot, since it was cheap. My problem is not the products fault, it looked well made and they got to me in 2 weeks.

I received this roaster with both handles from the top piece hanging from the handles of the lower piece. The handles were tack welded on and easily came off in shipment. Why not rivet the handles to the roaster halves? Speaking of the roaster, the metal is thin and flexed the sides of the roaster when I picked up the bottom half by the handles. In addition, I found plenty of paint flakes in the box so the paint probably won't last long and will lead to rust. Too bad. Doesn't it seem like company executives stop thinking as consumers while they obsess on new ways of reducing the bottom line?

REAL Granite Ware is made in the USA and have "USA" embossed under the lid handle! The quality problems reported by other reviewers on this roaster (sharp edges, poor lid handle, thin material) are due to the fact that it is made in MEXICO for Columbia Home Products of Indiana (as is the rack for it.) This deep covered casserole dish is perfect for serving large amounts of stew or soup. I use it when I have my family over or when I host my girls club lunches. It safely holds a maximum of 24 cups (or 160 ounces) this maximum amount leaves enough space to accommodate some sloshing without any spilling.

I cook stews and soups on the stove and use this dish to finish simmering or for warming in the oven while finishing details before my guests arrive. I have no idea what KitchenAid was thinking when they decided the length of this thing but it is 15" long and no other spatchula I own is longer that 11", and most of that is handle, the working end is rather small.

I am sure it will last a long time, looks and feels very well made, might last even longer for me since it has already migrated to the back of the kitchen junk drawer sicne it does not fit with the other stuff (too long for the spot.)

The bottom of the tub had to be sanded to remove some tiny shavings still hanging on and potential splinters. This appears to be a quality control or manufacturing issue, as the side is smooth & safe for use without further work. I probably would try a different product, armed with this knowledge. But for those saddled with the same problem, a few minutes with 400-grit sandpaper ought to do the trick. I haven't tried other sushi oke at a similar price range, so I do not know whether this is just a common problem.

The tub is made of pine, which is a softer material than cypress, the top material for a sushi oke. Cypress would certainly cost substantially more. This tub is made in China, though the label is in Japanese & the company seems to be based in Japan. The bands on the side made from plastic rather than metal, and they are decorative rather than functional. They come in several pieces that have been glued on to the side (rather than one single piece to reinforce the tub). The label advertises that all components are made from all-natural materials.

The size is suitable for 3-4 cups of rice. More than this and it starts to get crowded. The included sushi roller & spatula are useful only for people who don't already have them. The quality of these items is lower than the average stuff you get from Asian groceries.

The item came the next day, and it was well packed. I happened to be holding this lid with a previous one I had purchased, and there was a noticable difference in the weight. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the thickness of the steel was different; this one was much thicker. I thought that was strange, in a good way, but from what I've been reading and experiencing persoannly, all-clad is starting to have quality control issues. (See the issues with the measuring cups.) The only real complaint is the price, thus the 4 stars, but then again it's all-clad, right?

The lid fits, but it's not the snuggest fit. The only other All Clad piece I have is a d5 pan, and that lid is snug. So I'm not totally comparing apples to apples, and I dont really know if in this line the lids are just looser. It's not crazy loose, the pan still works and I'm glad to have a lid for it. I admit I was excited when I ordered this pan. I have an extremely large version made by another company and have been wanting a smaller version for quite some time.

The pan is well made, the metal is quite thick. It does have some weight to it and is sturdy. The handles are VERY nice and a good size. Nothing irritates me more than to try and move a hot pan with substandard or small handles but with this pan, I won't have to worry about that at all. The labels are easily removed and don't leave any annoying residue on the surface of the pan.

I plan on using it for making jams and jellies and will update this review as soon as I've used it on the first batch.

The lid (sold separately but well worth the small extra expense) is also made with the same quality as the pan. I recommend buying them together if you have any thoughts about wanting a lid for you pan. I didn't buy the lid for my larger one and can just kick myself for making that mistake!

This griddle is exactly what I was looking for it heats evenly, it's lightweight, it fits exactly over two burners, and it's got a cutout on one corner to pour out the grease. The ceramic cooking surface is very non-stick and stays that way over time. Do not use non-stick sprays (not that you need them), as they will leave a residue over time that's impossible to clean up. Using only a small amount of butter or oil, all of my Green Gourmet pans are as clean and non-stick as they were when I bought them. Cuisinart says they're dishwasher safe, but I've never seen the need to do so; they've never needed more than a few wipes with a soapy sponge to get completely clean.

No fan of teflon, we got a small saute pan of this brand and loved it. The grill is a bit of an investment, so we wanted to try out the coating first which is amazing. Cuisinart has managed to make a non-stick (truly, it's NO stick) coating that holds up to utensils, higher heat, and the stickiest of foods without missing a beat. Love the coating!! The grill fits across two burners, and because of the base materials, maintains an even heat without significant a gap between them. We've cooked eggs without butter, grilled sandwiches, made pancakes, and even melted grated cheese, and everything slips easily away. The raised edge is nice too, in case you did want to add oil/butter/grease, and the corner spout makes it easy to get rid of.

I had such high hopes for this product after reading the largely positive reviews. I would give it one star, but I'm going to give it two *just* in case I was committing some sort of user error.

I bought the griddle to use with pancakes and little else. I'm on a fat-restricted diet. Having read online that cooking sprays gunked up cooking surfaces due to the lecithin they contain, I used only oil. My technique was to use about 1/4 teaspoon on a hot griddle, then spread it around using a silicone spatula. This worked for about two weeks. During that time I used the griddle on nothing more than medium heat, washed it with a sponge and water (sometimes soapy, sometimes not). Despite this, a residue began to build up. As it did, the non-stick properties deteriorated. The last time I used it the sticking was awful. My attempts to flip a pancake failed completely, with the pancake accordioning as I pushed the spatula against its unyielding underside.

That's not all. The last time this thing failed, I was careful to pour the pancake batter on the two circular surfaces of the griddle that had seen the least buildup. No dice. Accordioned pancakes.

By way of comparison, I have a Calphalon skillet. It stuck some when I used no oil whatsoever; however when I used the technique described above, it performed flawlessly. It's a few months older than the griddle and has to date seen more use than the griddle. But, as I said, it performs flawlessly with just a touch of oil.

And finally, if memory serves, the instructions on the griddle's packing box indicated that one should season it by the common technique of oiling then baking it. I have little experience with these things, but is it really true that you're supposed to seaason non-stick cookware?

In sum, this would have received one star, except I'm doubling the score to two to allow for the possibility that I'm doing something wrong. But inasmuch as I have Calphalon whose performance is vastly superior using the same care and maintenance techniques---well you be the judge.

I was very excited when I first bought this pan and for the first 19 stacks of pancakes it was great. Number 20? Not so much. The pan, which had been cared for according to all directions, developed some kind of bubbles and grit that could not be removed. The pan is now in the trash. I have the greengourmet pots and pans set also, and I'm waiting for them to go the same way. I also want to mention that the care these pans need is extreme. I never put them in the dishwasher, never put them on high heat, never use Pam, never let butter or oil get so hot as to smoke, and always use silicone spatulas and spoons. Despite this, the pans don't last any longer than any other pan, and in the case of the pancake griddle, less than some. So disappointed in this very expensive pan.
