Staub 5-Quart Round Cocotte, Pimento Red

... because it's a pot for god's sake. Anyway, it is as billed. A heavy cast iron enamelled dutch oven that you can stick in the oven. Too obvious? For a non-cook like me, the whole braising concept was only an emerging idea. But it works. Things turn out so good, and it has nothing to do with my skill level. Every meal should basically start with tossing bacon, a bottle of wine, and some meat into a big pot and coming back four hours later. You can't go wrong. And... I'm going there. It's pretty. It's red and shiny and I like it the way I liked matchbox cars when I was a kid. I don't even put it in the cabinet. It sits on top of a shelf in full view. So go ahead, spend too much money on a pot. You'll justify it with occasionally cooking pasta sauce in it, and say, "See! It was worth it! We use it all the time!" It's not just for braising!

Not impressed with the enamel-coated finish; appears to be refurbished or factory-second. Not what I had expected from top of line cookware. Maybe the cocotte I received was a lemon, as most reviewers have high admiration for the fit and finish of Staub.

Final purchase price at Amazon was less than $100 with shipping included. While the pits and surface imperfections in the exterior enamel finish may not affect the cooking process, this could lead to more serious issues later in the form of rust or bacteria. So far, the only issues are superficial or cosmetic, but I have requested a replacement in hopes of getting an unblemish cocotte I can proudly display.

PS The added bonus; a Staub silicon kitchen spoon and magnetic trivet was a welcome addition at no additional charge, however the value of $45.00 placed on the two items were so extreme honestly I would have preferred them lower the price of the pot then give away gimmicks to make you think you are getting a good deal and to top it off the Trivet you would think would be round like the pot to place the pot on instead it is oval and too small to do a lot with, if the items weren't free you can bet I would have never bought them at that price especially for something that isn't the same dimensions as the pot I am buying obviously I would have bought a round one common sense!

Beautiful Oven Mitt, nicest I'll have ever had ...if I keep it. Don't oven mitts come in pair?! I was so surprised (and, frankly, pissed off) when this one gorgeous orange oven mitt, all bright and comfortable and snuggly, showed up ... all ... by ... itself. Grrrr.

I wasn't sure it would be long enough when I ordered this mitt. But it turned out it was long enough to protect my forearm. Also nice and thick. Highly recommend!

Unable to find a blue oven mitt Made in the USA, I went for Made in Europe. Very chic to have a French oven mitt, and priced accordingly.

Thus, I was extremely disappointed to see on a label hidden well within the oven mitt "Made in China"!

Le Creuset shame on you.

Nordic Ware Microwave Vegetable and Seafood Steamer 11 Inch by 8.6 Inch

I try to do things with as little effort as possible, so I got tired of cleaning small food particles from the folding, metal steamers that are made for use in a pan on the stove top. I steam small frozen vegetables (corn, peas, carrot cubes, etc.) quite often. I started looking for a way to steam frozen vegetables with easier clean-up, and came to believe that the available microwave steamers would be a better way to go. (I have found that microwave steaming also leads to better flavors than stove-top steaming.)

Recently I bought both the Nordic Ware microwave steamer (Nordic Ware Microwave Vegetable and Seafood Steamer 11 Inch by 8.6 Inch) and the Progressive International microwave steamer (Progressive International Microwavable Fish & Veggie Steamer). I've used the Progressive steamer maybe 5 times, and I've been quite happy with it: it is easy to steam small vegetables and clean-up is easy. It could be a little sturdier, but it is OK. Tonight, I used the Nordic Ware steamer for the first time, and I found steaming small vegetables to be more difficult, primarily because there is no lip around the edges of the steaming tray, which allows small vegetables to easily spill off of the tray. They spill off of the tray as I'm loading it with vegetables, and spill-off of the tray as I'm transferring the vegetables from the tray to a serving dish. Clean-up is still pretty easy, though not quite as easy as with the Progressive steamer.

The base of the Nordic Ware steamer seems a little sturdier than that of the Progressive Steamer, but the Nordic Ware's lid is somewhat flimsy. I suspect that the Progressive steamer will last longer than the Nordic Ware steamer. (I hand wash my vegetable steamers; both steamers may be OK for use in the top rack of a dishwasher.)

For steaming large vegetables and/or fish, which I don't do, the Nordic Ware steamer might be better because steam might circulate better around the edges of the tray when a bunch of the holes are covered, although I have little certainty about this.

Most reviewers of this item are talking about the benefits of steaming which i agree is great but this steamer is not good. After the tupperware steamer I had for years got damaged in the dishwasher I bought this hoping it will last atleast half as long. Only after a few weeks of using it the steamer looks dull and dingy. The transparent lid is turning yellow. The plate provided to keep the vegetables inside the steamer looks slightly twisted and dull. All this after good care during washing and also I used it only a few times for light steaming less than 5 minutes. I am ready to throw it and buy a tupperware steamer again. By the way the tupperware steamer lasted for nearly 4 years for me and would have lasted more if it did not fall off the top of the dishwasher rack and got burnt by a coil in the bottom of the dishwasher.Do not buy this item the quality is very bad.

I've heard that steaming vegetables is much better for you than cooking them otherwise. This does a great job at it. It makes vegetables taste great, and works well. Easy to clean.

I bought this steamer for my daughter and when she used it the first time, it worked great, but afterwards she noticed a large crack going all the way across the bottom of it and she had to throw it away.

Update 12-27-09..I bought one for my son also and while he was visiting on Christmas day I asked him how he liked his steamer and he said that his was cracked also and wasn't able to use it. I'm so disappointed that these were poor quality and my kids didn't get to use them.

I ordered both the covered 12" skillet and the smaller 8" skillet from the Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection and was delighted to see they are even better than I expected. The weight is ideal--impressive but not too heavy for my older hands, The finish shouts quality inside and out. Cooking with them is a step-up in ease of cooking and cleaning. Meat browns nicely with only a tiny drop of oil in the pan. Instructions say no oil is needed, and I may get brave and try that, but in the meantime, can report that both skillets are a pleasure to use for a variety of food I've cooked on my gas range, including eggs, steak, chicken, fish, grilled veggies, e.g. onions, potatoes, stir-fry, etc. Pancakes and French Toast browned without using oil. I particularly appreciate that the exterior finish is also non-stick and wipes clean as easily as the interior, This should extend the attractiveness of the pans for a long, long time. The bronze color is nice, but I would have ordered the stainless finish if the sizes I wanted had been on sale at the time. Note: I forgot just how large a 12" skillet is, and will be ordering a 10" soon, as I'm usually cooking for two.

18 MONTH UPDATE: These pans were everything we wanted for about 12 months

before the exterior non-stick finish began to break down and I was unable to

find anyway to keep them looking good. Another 6 months, and the inside of

the 12" skillet had lost most of it's non-stick qualities, and was impossible

to clean. In all, these "better" quality" non-stick lasted just barely longer

than the less expensive ones and price considered, were not as economical.

BTW: We are a 2 person household and we both love to cook and know how to

care for our equipment. These pans were never over-heated of abused, and were

cleaned as instructed. In the 18 months of almost daily use of one or the other,

I could count on one hand the times the pan was NOT hand-washed and put away after use

and not just rinsed and wiped out. Only the small pan is still usable--but unsightly!

Question: Should I now order "best" non-stick, and hope they're worth it, or just

plan on replacement every year or so?

Analon advance pans are the best pans I have used. I have been cooking for 20 years and these are by far the best. Even heat distribution, and nonstick that works. These pans are quality! Heavy, built to survive, well, me. Handles are riveted on with over sized rivets and are super strong. I would bet if you filled these with lead it would probably hold (sorry i didn't try). I have cooked eggs, potatoes, gravy, meat, pancakes & tomato sauce in these pans, with no oil or spray, and have had success with all. Cleaning has been done with hot tap water from sink sprayer and they always came clean. Soap and sponge for safety but the food came out without them. I have several sizes and like them all. Some of the pans come with glass lids. Glass lids are nice and have wonderful handles, but lack a vent hole (the only downfall). I have used wooden and plastic utensils without any issues. At this time i have used the pans approx 20 times and they look and work like new.

I've been searching for a deep skillet for a while now and found this Anolon on Amazon. The non-stick is SO amazing that my husband (who hates cleaning dishes by hand) automatically washes this pan whenever he or I use it! You just need mild soap and a sponge and off comes everything! If this keeps up, I will be purchasing more items form Anolon.

Honest reviews on Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Deep

You could save a little money by buying a cheap pan at the grocery store…they work about the same as this one does for me.

I bought this pan as a small sampler before I splurged on the 11-piece set. I am so glad I did! This pan does not live up to the expectations of quality cookware. I have only had it 2-3 weeks but use it at least daily (sometimes several times a day) and it already has a very definitive hot spot in the center of the pan. Most hard anodized aluminum pans boast even heat distribution, but this one falls FAR short of that. It also does not cook things as fast or efficiently as several other HAA pans I have. I will NOT be buying the full set, and am going to try to return this pan.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Deep

I purchased this Analon Advanced Bronze skillet to replace an older version of the same thing as I cannot function without this piece of cookware in my kitchen. Even better, it was still an "Open Stock" item no need to have to buy a complete set of cookware to get one pan. The price was also right not having gone up that much over the years.

My old skillet gave me many years of use and was well traveled, having cooked successfully on all types of heating surfaces and fuels here in the U.S. and overseas. I was delighted to find that I could replace it.

The size is wonderful when preparing recipes that make a larger amount, and the higher sides prevent messy splashes and spatters that occur when cooking in a more open skillet. I love it for frying meats, and especially for spaghetti sauce. The fact that it now comes with a lid is another plus. My old one did not. This skillet is not only versatile, it also has an attractive design, and the bronze tone is a nice change from the old gunmetal gray.

I have tried all varieties of "non stick" cookware over time, and find the Hard Anondized the best performer of all. It cleans easily, resists staining, has even heat distribution. and has yet to cook a disappointing meal for me.

I plan to purchase the entire set of cookware to go with my new skillet.

We love this product. If you are like us and don't want a thousand single-use products in your home, you may really like this grill. We use it in the winter to grill steaks and get those beautiful lines. We use it to grill veggies. (My favorite: asparagus with some olive oil. Then sprinkle with sea salt and garlic powder). But our most recent use, paninis!!! I made a cheese and ham sandwich on italian pugliese bread or chiabatta, sprayed with a little grapeseed oil and put it down on the grill, put a cast iron pan on top of it as a press, then flipped it over and did the same. Our paninis looked beautiful and tasted out of this world!

Update in Nov 09. It isn't always easy to keep clean. Still love it.

It says this is a 2 burner grill pan but that is so wrong. It does not cover 2 burners it sits in the middle of each burner causing the handles to be right ove both burners. Very dissapointing, I love the le creuset normally and was really looking forward to having a grill pan made by them. Unfortuanatelly due to the shape it will not work for just one burner either. Hopefully they will come out with an updated one, until then my search for a good 2 burner grill pan continues.

Best Deals for Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Skinny Grills

I just purchased a glass top stove and bought this because of the protective bottom. However, after using it several times, I would choose a different grill because of the following reasons:

#1 The spatter mess there is virutally no way to prevent splatter when using this pan creating an unneccessary amount of post-cooking clean-up.

#2 There is no option of purchasing a lid

#3 The pan itself has an odd rectangular shape that does not fit on one burner or two for that matter. Thus, somewhere while cooking you have a cool spot.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Skinny Grills

While some don't like the size of this grill pan, I find it easy to work with. Just position the middle of the grill pan over the burner and heat slowly for even temperature throughout. The fact that 3 other burners are free while I grill meat on this grill is helpful in cooking other dishes for the meal. The patina does take a while to build but now I use very little (if any) grease to make it nonstick. I found that cleaning works best with a quick soak after the grill cools. Just some dish soap and enough water to soak the grill for 20 min or so was enough for easy cleanup with a plastic brush. Before the patina develops, there is a bit more careful cleanup but this diminishes over time. I've enjoyed this grill for over a year and it is a staple part of my kitchen.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Skinny Grills

It does stick a great deal if you don't season it occasionally. And true, its an odd shape. I have an old old stove with tiny burners right now, and it takes close to 10 minutes to heat up evenly on these awful gas burners, and doesn't do a great job if you put a second batch on right away because of the cold spots. but it used to work great on my thermador professional gas stove that had large burners pumping out lots of BTU. Works great on a standard electric smoothtop for my s-i-l too.

PRO: Love the compact size, doesn't get in the way of other dishes while still providing a lot of grill space. Fabulous to be grilling stove top in all weather without a fancy stove or pulling out the BBQ. I wouldn't dream of using toxic non-stick coated grills that spew out toxins when heated to grilling temperatures(surely well above the recommended 400 degrees F for non-stick?) So cast iron like this one is definitely the way to go for grilling.

Con: Probably worth the money over say a lodge only if you are looking for matched cookware to your existing le creuset pieces since the grill surface is simply like the inexpensive lodge pre-seasoned cast iron. I personally would not have bothered to buy it, it came as a freebie with my 7 something quart le creuset dutch oven from amazon. (That dutch oven BTW is worth every penny!)

For some reason I expected these cake pans to be heavier, but they are aluminum and very lightweight. They scratch relatively easily. The cakes baked up well and the variety of sizes was very helpful. Shipping was fast. I didn't use the special baking coil in the center of the 10", but it didn't matter, it baked up just fine. I didn't try out the 12" yet. It was very helpful to have the number of cups needed for each pan plainly described on the packaging.

Having purchased other Wilton cake pans before, these were basically what I expected. That being said, if you haven't purchased other Wilton pans before, these may be more lightweight than what you are expecting, but generally they tend to last a bit better than the some of the pans I've bought from other manufacturers. (No rust issues, for instance, but that's because these are aluminum.) I love the four different sizes, as it's really convenient to have all of them. Make sure you grease these pans well for your cake (or whatever you're baking) to come out really easily, as these aren't non-stick. I haven't had any issues with the center of the larger ones not baking even without using anything special to help, either. I'd definitely recommend these for ease of use, quality, and the convenience of the different sizes.

I got these pans as a gift and put them in the dishwasher thinking aluminum pans would be fine in there. (It didn't say anywhere on amazon on the wilton papers that came with it that it wasn't dishwasher safe). When I took them out they had lost all of their coating. I returned them. We now have 2 sets of these and hand wash them every time. They aren't as shiny as they were and I'm sure the coating will wear off eventually but they bake well and are working for us for now.

Cheap Calphalon Nylon Utensils Potato Masher

Calphalon Nylon Utensils Potato Masher
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
I have a girlfriend but when I'm in the kitchen, Calphalon is my paramour.

Which is why this masher saddens me. The other reviewers have it right, smooth design, sturdy construction, gets into tight spaces, and a strong tactile response. But those are things I look for in a hammer, not a potato masher.

The mashing end is HIGHLY inefficient: holes are too small, plastic supersedes the space available for pressing food through. And so much is stuck in those holes and on the underside of the masher once you're through. A plain wire masher won't scratch your nonstick pans (assuming you're acquainted with finesse), isn't a tenth as wasteful, and is MUCH more efficient.

Bottom Line:

I strongly suggest getting something else to fulfill your mashing needs.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I was a little hesitant about trying this masher because it is thicker than the metal one I had been using. I usually slide the masher under the potatoes as I mash to move the bottom to the top for mashing. I have been getting away from the metal tools to protect my new stainless cookware. So I decided to try this masher. I'm glad I did!! It works great and my old metal masher is now in the box for Goodwill.

Best Deals for Calphalon Nylon Utensils Potato Masher

I really hate to do this, but I feel obligated because I spent so long searching for the right potato masher and settled on this one based on the previous reviews. Simply put, it broke the very first time I used it. I was making mashed potatoes, and when I went to actually do the mashing, the handle became detached. I don't think I was using it roughly, just the way I would think it should be used. Anyway, I do not recommend this product, although Calphalon usually does not disappoint.

Review of Fox Run Fox Run Aluminum Ravioli Maker

Fox Run Fox Run Aluminum Ravioli Maker
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

At first, I tried to put my pasta sheets across the metal tray and create pockets by pressing the back of the plastic tray down upon it. This made some of the 'pockets' rip. Now what I do is, flip the plastic tray bump side up,place my pasta sheet on the bottom of the plastic tray first, fitting the pasta around those bumps with my fingers, and then place that assembly on top of the metal tray. All that is left now is to fill the pockets, moisten the edges, cover them with another sheet of pasta, and take a rolling pin across that final assembly. You might have to pull them apart a little and let them set for 30 minutes before cooking. PS The raviolis do seperate better if you also allow your pasta sheets to dry for 20-30 minutes first.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is a wonderful product. I was surprised how easy it is to make perfect ravioli the first time out. The plastic form makes easy indents in the dough for the filling without tearing the sheet of dough. If you have problem with tearing, it is usually caused by pushing to hard with the form, or the dough recipe may need to be adjusted. Whether you want to brush water/egg around the edges prior to placing the top sheet of dough is up to you. It seals perfect every time without either. Some say the rolling pin doesn't always cut through the dough on the form. I found when going along the edges, if I tilted the rolling pin slightly along the edge, it makes a clean cut. I was amazed how easy and quickly I could make 5 dozen cheese ravioli. Great price as well.

Best Deals for Fox Run Fox Run Aluminum Ravioli Maker

I agree with the reviews that were not successful using the rolling pin. Here's a procedure I developed when teaching my kids and grandkids. When you get to the point of using the rolling pin, simply flip the entire unit over and use a Krimpcut Sealer to separate the ravioli and cut off the excess pasta. Kitchen Supply 7239 Krimpcut Sealer

Some tips for success: Liberally dust the aluminum tray with flour before laying down the first sheet of pasta. Also make sure the dough is not sticky you can also use a little flour on the side of the dough that will be in contact with the form. After the pasta is in place use the plastic form to indent and then brush the dough with beaten egg white, fill the pockets and cover with the top piece of pasta. Now instead of using the rolling pin, SWIFTLY (important to make sure everything stays together :) ) flip the whole thing over on a flour dusted surface and use the Krimpcut (which has been rolled in flour to eliminate it's sticking to the dough) to separate the ravioli and cut off excess pasta. Flouring of the tray and dough will ensure that you will easily be able to peel the form away from the pasta.

Also, very importantly, the elasticity and thickness of the dough as well as the consistency of the filling will have a huge impact on your success. These factors, unfortunately are only perfected through the old trial and error process.

The tray worked fairly well for the most part. There's 2 things I don't care for and that may get better once I get more used to it. 1. It's very light, as your trying to use your rolling pin to cut the edges the tray slides all over the place. And 2. cutting with a rolling pin is difficult. If you hold the pin at a slight angle around the outer edges it'll cut fine, but the middle does not want to cut very well, I think Michael's has a small clay roller that would make this work better.

I bought this 6.5 Quart Saucepan to go along with an induction cooktop by the same company. To test it out though I tried it with cubed chicken breast on an electric stove, which in lesser quality pans usually causes hotspots and results in some chicken underdone, some overdone. I was impressed that the Duxtop pan heated evenly and the chicken was consistently cooked over the entire surface of the pan. When it came time to add a sauce and up the heat for reduction, it also performed well but I did need to watch the heat as not to have anything stick or burn, normal for a new pot though.

The handles stayed pretty cool and I did not need to use pot holders. This is a fairly heavy pan for the money about $27 as an Amazon Warehouse Deal and not sure I'd pay more than that considering the lid. The lid is VERY thin and does not sit exactly flush across the top of the pot; a little bend to it so it allows some steam to escape. Not a deal breaker for me. Attractive shiny finish is a plus looks great on the stove. Deglazed and cleaned up with very little effort.

Will update with induction cooking results.

Overall, so far, pleased with this purchase.

01/29/21 UPDATE: I have used this pan on the Duxtop Induction Cooktop to create an Asian stir fry with noodles. The pan heated quickly at the default setting which is 5; I raised the heat in increments to 10 and used peanut oil to help avoid smoking. It seared the chicken very quickly with barely any sticking. Some bits did begin to brown and coat the bottom of the pan. As I added four tablespoons of Thai fish sauce the brown bits quickly released and the pan deglazed very easily. The rice noodles did not stick until the very end when I allowed them to sit just a little too long while getting plates. Once the pan was empty I added a cup of water to it while it was still warm and the remaining noodles came loose easily. Cleanup was quick and only required a scrubbie sponge.

I bought this with duxtop cooktop because we are not sure if the cookware we already have can use on induction cooktop. To our surprise, the pan we received is a heavy duty stainless steel pan, the steel is much thicker than all the other cookwares we have. It works great on my induction cooktop and my electric burner. And I am pretty sure it will last forever.

Best Deals for Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Induction Ready Premium

Nicely made, even heating. Only negative is that the handle is too round in cross-section, making it hard to pour from the saucepan one-handed. Nevertheless a great value.

Honest reviews on Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Induction Ready Premium

seemed like a good deal and the reviews were favorable. Pot actually looks and feels pretty good for the price. The lid is thin, poor quality metal that does not even fit the pot correctly. It also had dents and bends along the edge. The handle on the lid is not even centered. this is very cheap but so was the price. I'll just use a lid from another pot I already own.

I love so much my Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Sauce pan! It's very well built, the quality is over my expectation frankly. But I think the all clad multi-ply stainless steel cook wares are expensive for me. Now, I feel I'm lucky to find my Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Sauce pan, I was suspicious about the quality, so just ordered one sauce pan to see if everything matched my expectation. I am looking forward to add more to my kitchen collection to replace my old cookware.

I bought this wok because my non-stick wok started flaking and I didn't want to season a carbon steel wok. After reading so many reviews about apartments filling with smoke due to seasoning a wok, I wanted something that I can start cooking with easily. The wok was nicely packaged when delivered and came with instructions on how to prepare it for its first time use. First, you have to cook off the food-safe clear lacquer coating by heating oil on it and rubbing the wok with paper towels (sounds A LOT like seasoning a wok...). The lacquer was kind of hard to get off in some places and I tried heating oil and rubbing four or more times. There still seemed to be a little lacquer left on the sides of the bottom no matter how hard i scrubbed (but you can't scrub it with anything hard because you'll "rub off the seasoned coating"). So I gave up and just decided to cook with whatever of the lacquer was remaining because I was tired of heating oil and the lacquer's supposed to be food-safe. Other than that, the wok seems to be fine now. Steaming and boiling foods is not recommended in the wok because it will "ruin" the pre-seasoned coating. You also cannot wash it with soap or it will "ruin" the coating, so you should rinse it under hot water, rub it with a soft sponge or something, dry it by heating it on the stove, and coat it with a little oil before storing it away. It's a bit high maintenance compared to a non-stick wok, but at least you don't have to replace it as often (unless it starts to rust because you ruined the coating.)

So I figured that perhaps the other reviewers were doing something horribly wrong with this wok and I decided to purchase it despite the bad reviews below.

Well, I knew that food may stick, since it's a carbon steel wok without any coating and while it's seasoned, it will need to be kept "lubed up" to work properly.

So when this thing arrived (the 2nd attempt as the first was missing the main handle that fell out of the box during shipping from Amazon) I followed the instructions attached and attempted to remove the "protective coating".

I heated some oil in the wok and tried to remove it but to no avail. The coating became gunky to the point that a oil coated paper towel was sticking to it leaving paper particles stuck to the coating. Wooden spatula was not helping either and the coating basically was stuck to the majority portion of the inside of the wok.

I finally gave up and tried lightly sanding it with a 600 grit sandpaper, knowing that since it's steel, I won't be harming anything anyway. What a surprise it was when after couple of strokes of the sandpaper, the surface of the sandpaper turned black and the blue hue of the "steel" inside the wok started giving way to a more familiar silverish color of the bare steel. I got really angry as apparently the blue hue turned out to be some kind of coating that covers the entire work. Worse, the coating was coming off as a black dust when sandpaper was used.

I didn't feel like returning this wok, since I expected a carbon steel, bare wok so I just continued with the sandpaper. After over an hour of hard sanding I finally got it to a shiny bare steel on the inside of the wok. We still cook in it and it actually is quite non-sticky when oil is used for stir frying.

If you're not prepared to sand down your wok, stay away.

Similair to another review, the food-safe lacquer coating was an unbelievable chore to remove even after multiple attempts on my gas stove--and following the accompanying instructions. Much of the lacquer is still there and gummy. I'm also suspicious that it's actually "food safe" lacquer (I don't believe everything manufacturers claim). It smelled much like the chemicals I've used when refinishing furniture.

In trying to get away from peeling non-stick surfaces, I selected this wok because of it's "pre-seasoned" surface and for it's flat bottom and big handles. It's a light, easy to handle wok and the price is affordable as well. However, upon arrival, the big handle was wobbly(helper handle firmly attached). After trying it a couple of times with fried rice and pad thai, I found the cooking surface to be sadly disappointing. Food sticks terribly and requires large volumes of oil yeilding a greasy finished product. I have seasoned 3 cast-iron skillets over the past 20 years, and though they're heavy, I think I'm going back to them and tossing this wok.

We followed instructions on how to get ready before first use. FORGET IT! It did it did not work.

WE had to do three times and the WOK now looks very old and not worth the time I researched to purchas it.

The item came without its own packaging...just thrown in a large box with the other items I ordered. It was also without the long handle. Was a gift and person who received it may have a handle from an old wok to use that would work. Just disappointed in general.

Have been using the pan for about a month now. Works great on eggs! I have used only plastic utensils with it and only wash it with a sponge but have noticed a few light scratches appear. The pan also seems to be slightly less nonstick than when I first received it but is still doing a good job. I guess time will tell how well this pan holds up. Noticed that the oil tends to pool around the outside of the pan indicating there the middle of the pan rises up a little. Not sure if this is normal for pans or not but it does make it difficult when you do want to cook with oil as it all goes to the edge away from where you would normally cook your food.

We ordered this pan because we have an induction cook top; we have stainless steel pans, but they burn and stick constantly, so we needed a nonstick pan. This has been great. Perfect for omelets, any pan searing we love it. And, of course, so easy to clean. Couldn't be happier.

I found this to be one of the best frying pans that I have ever used. It feels strong and sturdy; looks very attractive and most importantly it does exactly as described by the manufacturer. In my experience because this pan is so good at not letting food stick to it, very, very little cooking oil is required. So you will save $$$ on oil, plus it is healthier for you too. This pan was so non-stick the food easily slides around on the bottom foods which would normally stick to lower quality pans. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who cooks it is that simple!

Honest reviews on TeChef - Blooming Flower Frying Pan, with Teflon Platinum Non-Stick

I have had the pan for about a month and use it nearly daily; it still looks like new! When I cook eggs and omelets, they slide out of the pan effortlessly, and I don't have to oil the pan ahead of time. Also, the heavy aluminum distributes the heat (I have an electric stovetop) more evenly than any pan I've owned before. Cleaning it is as easy as wiping it out with a soapy sponge--nothing has stuck to it yet (not even cheese!). I haven't used any metal utensils on it, but the packaging indicates it is scratch resistant. It is the best non-stick pan I've owned to date.

Surprised to open this pan and find a note from TeChef offering a free Amazon gift card worth $5 for writing a review. Please note Amazoners: I am not sending this review in for $5. It's my unvarnished, unbiased opinion. But beware, this pan may be getting more positive reviews than it warrants. Here's why:

It does have a great non-stick finish — at least so far. I've used it daily for two weeks and it's the easiest clean up I've ever had. But it you're like me, the type that has been known to leave a pan "age" from lunch until evening dishwashing, this can seriously affect the longevity of teflon coatings. So it's too soon to say how long this pan will make it.

For all you looking for a flat cooking surface this pan has a flat surface where it comes in contact with the heat. It works fine on my glass top range. However, it has a slightly domed cooking surface and oils from fatty sausage run to the lower edge. That's great if you want to drain away fats, and so far hasn't presented any problems with stir frys and sautés since you will only need a tiny drop of oil. That is taking some getting used to. I use a flat bottom pan though when I need to fry fritters .

This pan is lightweight which may be OK for some folks but I prefer a heavier pan, even at age 62.

Too bad this pan comes with a handle attached by a phillips head screw. I prefer riveted handles, and would not have chosen this pan had this been described more clearly. It's attached well though and doesn't wiggle. If it stays immobile that will satisfy me.

I cannot give any pan a final rating until it's done time for several years, but the highest this pan would get is a four after at least four years. Will we get there?

And finally, can anyone tell me the purpose of the wierd flower pattern ? There was not description anywhere on the box or with the pan. Another cooking secret.

I am not a big fan of the All Clad LTD line but I do love this pan. I much prefer the All Clad polished stainless steel line (I have almost every piece and love it) but at time I was making this purchase I didn't know they made a stainless griddle and I also wanted the nonstick surface, I am pretty sure the stainless griddle is not nonstick. This griddle is a perfect size for pancakes. I debated on the grande size, I decided that since I don't make pancakes everyday it didn't make sense to spend the extra money and deal with storing the larger size. Also, I prefer smaller pancakes and this size is a better price and much easier to store. It is a great size for 4 small/medium-sized pancakes. I imagine it would also be more challenging to keep up with more than 4 at a time, particularly of you are making eggs at the same time.

This pan is not dishwasher safe due to the nonstick surface, but don't worry it is a breeze to clean. This pan is very, very well made and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Sometimes this pan is sold {at a special price} if you see it grab it. It is a steal at that price. Once you try All Clad you will be hooked too! Highly recommended! A+!

Part of the cachet for me in purchasing an All-Clad product was that their factory is less than 50 miles from my home. I always try to support American MANUFACTURERS, and was quite shocked to find this particular piece labeled "Made in China for All-Clad."

Damn. You can't trust anybody. But as for the product---

It is a solid performer. The non-stick surface is very effective, and remember to follow the directions and cook on a lower heat than you normally would. The thick aluminum transmits heat well, and also holds the heat, so when your item is done, get it off the pan.

I have had this pan for two years. I have probably used it more than 100 times, usually to make pancakes or french toast. It does a very good job, better than the Calphalon griddle that I had before. I downgrade it because it scratches too easily -and I have made an effort from day one to take very good care of it, using only nylon spatulas, promptly washing it gently by hand, and storing it so it won't be scratched by other pans. Still, after all that care, it has become scratched. So my verdict is that the griddle does a good job but it requires a lot of TLC.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 3021 Hard Anodized Aluminum Nonstick 11-Inch Square

I love this pan! I have the All-Clad stainless line, and bought this pan when my youngest daughter started to like grilled cheese sandwiches. You just can't cook more than one sandwich at a time in a regular fry pan. This pan has plenty of space to cook 4 sandwiches at a time, or 4 pieces of french toast, or 4 eggs... the list goes on and on.

My dad came to visit, and was coerced into making pancakes. He had always used a square electric griddle at home, but he gave my griddle pan a try. He liked it so much I gave him one for Christmas! Once again, plenty of space to cook 4 pancakes at a time.

The non-stick coating is durable, the food slips right off, and it is easy to wash. That is important, because this pan can't go into the dishwasher. It is also rather heavy, but since I just set it on the burner and cook, that isn't an issue either.

Bottom line is that both my father and I are very happy to make room in our kitchens for this pan.

Not a great griddle. The finish requires alot of maintance to keep it non-stick. Have to clean it with baking soda after each few uses. I've had it about a year & it is so warped that it's un-usable. I called All Clad because it it supposed to have a warranty but they require you send it to them & they have to check it out & approved it & possibly in a few months they would do something but they said more than likely it was user error from using it on too high of heat. So in short, I'm out of luck. So don't waste your money on a cheaply made product. Spend a little more & get a good product.
