I was tired of my frostings, custards and sauces that required an electric mixer use during cooking sloshing over the sides of the smaller double boiler I have.

I bought this one on sale at Amazon and it works wonderfully for my confections.

It is large with high sides. There is a ridge where it sits in the boiler pan that you have to pay special attention to when washing.

Shipping was speedy and I was able to use this for my cooking during Christmas.

Love this product perfect for my needs. Keeps the chocolate wafers soft for hours while I'm dipping candy. If you use a microwave to melt your wafers, you only have about half an hour to work before the chocolate hardens. Easy to clean and nice even temperature. Very happy with my purchase. Would recommend it to my friends.

I purchased this for my mother who is starting to get into candle making and needed a double boiler to melt wax with. I bought this particular one because all my mom needs is a simple, inexpensive pot.

I was impressed with how sturdy and solid the pots feel. The melting pot sits snugly and securely onto the bottom pot due to a flange (ring) around the bottom of it. The bottom pot is non stick and can be used as a regular pot complete with glass lid. The handles are comfortable and feel sturdy in the hand.

Overall I think I got a pretty good value with this and my mom is happy as well :)

It's really hard to find lids this size. My wife bought a similar lid from another listing for $18, but it was super flimsy. A cover this big needs to be stiff or it's going to bend. This one is super solid and really nice, and cheaper than the other lid even with shipping!

I confess I can't understand why it is so inexpensive. It far exceeded my expectations and I'm super happy to finally have a good lid for one of my favorite pans. Strongly recommend!

So I bought this to strain homemade yogurt. I already have two strainers but the mesh isn't fine enough to stop the loss of solids. So I researched it online and found I needed to have a "fine mesh" strainer, such as a bouillon strainer. Anyway, long story short... I bought this. It seems very durable and is really big... the mesh, however, is no different than any other strainer you'd find in any grocery/department store (save, that it is reinforced by an even bigger mesh).

As it stands, I'll never use this. Free to anyone who wants it I guess...

My wife is Asian and we spotted this online. We enjoyed many meals in restaurants over in Asia using these at the table. Unfortunately, in comparison, this item is truly low, low quality. Very thin metal... So thin we kinda worry it will melt or suffer some once heat is applied .

To be fair, we have yet to use this item, but simply from a 'feel' standpoint we feel this is definitely NOT worth the money. Better to go to a specialty shop to see and 'feel' the utility before you buy.

I damaged my Kitchenaid 10" fry pan and needed another. Amazon had this 10 1/2" and the square griddle for a good price for the two of them. I am a little disappointed since the pan has metal on the bottom and I try to avoid that for my glass top stove and the enamal (red color) has chipped. It is not up to the standards of my other Kitchenaid pans which do not have the metal on the bottoms.

I have to admit I was hesitant about buying these because i have always thought of kitchen aid products as appliances not cookware. Imagine my surprise when I opened them to find they are a better quality than my last two sets of pans which cost at least double what these did! I cant say enough good things about these pans. I already have several KitchenAid cookware pieces and these are great quality as well. I do not put them in the dishwasher so I have not had any issues with fading. The non-stick surface seems to hold up well even though I don't always wash them as quickly after use as I should. The skillet is my go-to for cooking smaller amounts of food. These two were by far the most inexpensive of the cookware I have.

Really like those. We like eating healthy and don't eat out more than once a week which means we cook a lot and these get to be used several times per day in our household. We've been using them for over 2 months now and they are still as great as on day one. I didn't think that we were going to use the squared griddle as much, but it turns out I was wrong. We use it more than the other, especially for eggs and meat. They are indeed non stick and clean up easily.

I like BIA Cordon Bleu. It's a San Francisco-based company that's been around for as long as I've been into cooking (since the early-1980s). It is made in China, and on some things I notice the logo on the underside washes away in time, but other than that the pieces always perform well. They aren't a consistent white all the time, however. I bought a 2 quart and a 1 1/2 quart at the same time and the colors don't match (one is more gray, one is more white). If you need a matched set of ramekins from them, for instance, but what you need and a few extras to break over time.

The 1 1/2 quart souffle dish is the one most souffle recipes are written for, so this is the one you want to have.

That said, however, you may be able to find it locally much less expensively than you can here. I saw it today in San Francisco for $6.99 at Fresh n Easy and for around $10 at the Rainbow Grocery.

I haven't actually cooked with it yet, but I can say that it is very heavy and has very thick sides. The weight makes it difficult to store (I live in a small apartment, so everything is stacked in my cupboards!). It does make for a chic fruit bowl though!

The same thing happened to me using this product as happened to the previous reviewer. For all the quality products Lodge makes, this one is garbage. I learned that the hard way when the handle came unlocked as I emptied hot french fries out of it. The fries came within centimeters of scalding my hand. And I couldn't believe the catch was not wide enough to rest on the side of the very dutch oven for which it was designed! I'm going to get a basket whose handle does not fold into the basket for easy storage. I'll take the loss of a little more storage space over a trip to the burn unit any day. If I can find the receipt this one is going back. Problem is I think I threw it away. Aaarrgghh!

This is a poorly designed basket. Handle has no 'catch' in the use position. Handle freely flops backwards and forward (into the loaded basket). The 'catch' that allows the basket to sit on the top rim (while draining the fried food) does not fit on the rim. Had to use pliers to pull it out some and it still wobbles.

I suspect that the reviewers who say the handle flops/doesn't lock are not using it correctly and are putting the handle THROUGH the big hook, in which case it will flop. Look carefully at the picture. The handle goes on the OUTSIDE of the top hook, not inside. Put the handle ends in the small hooks then pull it up to snap over the big hook. It is absolutely secure when used correctly and works great.

This was exactly what I needed. I built a custom fryer using an OLD butchers ketting belonging to my great grandfather and a 55gal drum. This thing will hook right on the lip of the kettle, out of the oil, and helps me quickly get the chicken (or whatever) out when they are finished. Excellent.

I'm so glad I bought this steamer! It's a smidge less romantic than a bamboo tower, but as Alton Brown suggested, a stainless steel one would be longer-lasting, have less original bamboo flavor, and would not soak up flavors from the foods like bamboo steamers; so, after a lot of research and searching, I chose this one. At very first I wasn't sure I liked it because the stainless levels seemed flimsy to me, but that's just because they are very light (which quickly I very much appreciated because it makes the whole unit not too heavy!) -and I found this steamer to be of high-quality material, design, and construction. I'm EXTREMELY happy with this purchase... it has plenty of room (depth and width -I bought the big one) for even corn-on-the-cob, and I can easily steam several different veggies at the same time, without mixing them or having to pile them up. I'M LOVIN' IT!

It will be useful in my kitchen. No doubt! However, I am attracting your attention to the fact that it is a two-layer steamer (as it is visible on the picture actually). 3-tier thing always confuses me (not a native speaker) into thinking that I can use all three layers. But in this case the third layer is the bottom that you fill with water. Simple as that.

When I first saw this pan in the store I thought it was just so cute because it is tiny and the egg face sealed the deal. I've alway liked my larger folding omlette pan but stopped using it since it is just too big. This little pan, although not perfect, is perfect for me. The first time I used it I melted the plastic handle because the pan was too small for the burner I chose. I solved the problem by using my tiny simmer burner on the lowest setting. Before using the pan I always spray it with some type of non-stick cooking oil. Even with spraying I still get small specks but they do come off with a gentle handwashing. This is best used for a plain 3 egg omelette. I will on occasion add a 'small' amount of cheese or ham but it gets really full. I added too much egg once and learned my lesson fast after cleaning up spilled on the hot stove top. If you use only 2 eggs you have a little bit more room in the pan to get creative with additional ingredients. The omelette pan turns out a perfect little puffy round one person omelette. I am not planning on putting this in my dishwasher but it is so small that handwashing is very quick. Overall, it is a perfect one person pan. Just make sure to use the pan on the smallest burner, use pre-spray and handwash. It's cheap and I don't expect it to last more than a year or two but it is fun to have.

I impulsively bought this product at somewhere other than Amazon, but as usual Amazon sells everything so I thought I'd come over here to look for reviews. I wasn't an omelet eater until I bought this, now I eat them at least 2 times per week. I've read many of the reviews here and I don't know if it's the product that's faulty or the operator. The first time I used this pan I sprayed it with Pam and in the process of cooking got oil everywhere.

After that my method was to saute bacon, onion and, optionally, green or jalapeno pepper in a little butter and olive oil until onions are transparent. Chop or shred any cheeses and put aside. Drop just a bit of butter in the Omelet Ease and pre-heat over medium burner. Add your cheese to omelet mixture, pour in pan, lock handle, cook for 3 minutes, flip sharply, cook for 3 more minutes, slip onto plate, enjoy. The bacon, EVOO, and butter was enough without added spray oil to keep the omelet from sticking. One key step is to make sure the pan is hot enough. Flick beads of water in the heating pan, and if they dance madly across the surface the pan is ready.

There's a small flyer attached to the pan that calls for cooking each side 3 minutes, not 2 1/2 minutes, not 4 minutes. I have a glass cook-top stove; I don't know how different conditions are with gas burner stoves and regular coil electric stoves, but their instructions work perfect for me. Will my pan start failing me? The non-stick coating? Locks and hinges? I don't know, but it's been a good 2 months for me and no problems yet.

My daughter and son in law bought this for me since my Pampered chef set was not holding up very well. I have used this for the past 3 weeks and it is easy to cook with and to clean up in. I haven't used the set in the oven yet but I absolutely love it. The only thing is that i now have to wash the cookware by hand but it has been so easy to clean that I don't mind not using my dishwasher. I love that the small sauce pan has a pour spout on each side of it and it also has holes on the lid so that you can drain without having to dirty a colander. It come with two very large frying pans. One is deep and since children come over with their families to eat I need the deep and large size. I haven't needed to use my electric skillet since. I love the pot being more narrow and tall so that it fits much better on the burner and cooks more evenly. It is very durable and you don't have to worry if one the kids use a metal spoon in it instead of the plastic spoons. I still use the plastic spoons since i had them for all my other cookware. The handles on the lids to get hot but it is no problem for me to use a hot pad to take them off. I rather have the handles holding up for a long time. I plan for this to be my last cookware set and at this price you can't beat that.

we've had this set for 4 years now, and it's been great. I was a bit apprehensive about getting a celebrity/TV brand, but it's been the best cookware set i've owned. We've used all of the pans quite thoroughly and never had any problems. The non-stick coating is starting to scratch, but that happens with all non-stick cookware eventually, and we really didn't make the effort to make it last. We cooked on some of the pans daily on a gas stove, and they've all been through the dishwasher with no problems. the handles are sturdy and stay cool to the touch, the lids fit securely. I particularly like the 11.5inch/5-qt. covered sauteuse pan, used for everything from fried green tomatoes to butter chicken. the small skillet is great for eggs, and the small sauce pan is great for making rice and pasta as the lid has holes on the sides for venting or draining. overall great cookware set, totally worth it for what you pay.

Considering that my previous and only set of pots and pans in my life were the ones I bought straight out of college, these are a definite step up. But even without that perspective, I really like them. They're attractive, easy to clean and a decent weight. I'm not a professional cook, I just needed decent stuff to keep myself alive, Oh, and weren't warped and rusty anymore! Mostly I use a microwave or my toaster oven. With that said,

I looked and looked and settled on these because of the strainer lid. I only noticed it was Food Network after the fact; not that the FN brand means anything in particular to gauge quality. I've enjoyed the shows, but I don't assume that means a television network is capable of manufacturing good cookware. My only fleeting thought was that they wouldn't want their brand associated with junk, but was not my deciding factor. I went with these because they had the items I needed, cool features with the strainer lid and steamer insert, and they looked nice.

But I incorrectly assumed that the strainer fit the 3 qt pot which is what I would use to cook pasta in. It does not. Rather disappointed about that because I was looking forward to cooking my pasta with this type of lid. But considering I needed pans anyway, I'm not disappointed enough to send them back. Perhaps I can find a pot/strainer just for my pasta needs.

Heating seems to be pretty even and nonstick works like a breeze. The only thing I noticed when cleaning is since the handles are attached with these knobs on the inside of the pot, I can quickly see how gunk can build up between there over time. Not sure how I feel about that, but again, still a step up for me. Two thumbs up. Just nicking a star for the strainer.

I purchased this set from a national retailer for less money, but even with that said, I expected more form Wusthof. I will say the actual blade is very sharp easily navigating through a watermelon or pineapple (even the smaller knife). However, the actual quality of the handle is not what I expected. I would have expected a great cut but with a sturdy handle. If you want a sharp knife this is your set, but if you are looking for a more substantial set, I would look elsewhere.

P.S. I would have definitely rated this at 3 stars had I paid the advertised price.

Personally: the 5-inch blade is perfect for my soft vegetable (e.g., tomatoes) food-prep operations, because it allows me closeness to the work and precise leverage of my hand and arm to perform slicing.

Objectively: Like a straight-razor, any fine/thin bladed cutting tool loses its edge of sharpness very quickly (This is normal; please do not cast aspersions upon the instrument.). If You cannot abide frequently, lightly sharpening its edge, then the Santoku Knife is not for You. Before becoming a Computer Science Professional, I was a Licensed Barber; keeping the edges of my straight razors in hair-splitting condition was a pride to me and a pleasure to my patrons.

I have an older version of this knife that I bought about 6 years ago: the one that is forged from a single piece of steel, including the handles. It was very sharp, the first time I used it, but lost its edge before I was done cutting and chopping the dinner fixings. I tried sharpening it using a large whetstone but I just couldn't duplicate the original razor-sharp edge. So, I ended up putting it away and forgetting about it in favor of my other Henckles and Calphalon knives...plus a couple of cheap knives I found at the local grocery store. Recently, I learned a superior and much better way of sharpening my knives: using a "half-moon" circular movement, rather than stropping the blade back and forth. This method is so good that I decided to try it on my abandoned 5" Santoku. Boy, was I glad I did! The knife, now, has a wonderfully sharp edge on it and I use it more than just about any of my other knives because it's a really good all-purpose tool which I use for cutting and chopping vegetables and spices, as well as for cutting slices of cheese that are so thin that I can practically see through them. The 5" size is a perfect "in between" size that compliments the rest of my humble collection.
