I have had this Spirit/Zwilling line for a few years, first the three fry pans and now the 4 QT. Comparison is to Le Creuset, All Clad including Excalibur non-stick, Viking, and Joyce Chen lightweight cast iron.

Understand that you are using man engineered stoneware of sorts with all its benefits and faults. They are extremely well engineered and work exceptionally well on induction.

For high heat cooking, these pans can safely get hotter than any other non-stick. I did a side by side on an induction cooktop bridge burner using a laser thermometer. The lightweight cast iron and Spirit heated in approximately the same time (iron a bit faster) to 800 some odd degrees before I called the dogs off... At first I thought the ceramic interior was marred or darkened but time has not yielded an issue. Pizzas at 550% plus convection oven don't damage the pan and slide off as if on a stone. Tip: let your dough rise in a slightly oiled fry pan, smooth the bottom before applying sauce and cheese, heat on stovetop a minute to get pan hot and place in high heat oven. (For those lucky enough to have induction, the dough can rise faster on the hold setting; these pans are also very much like Le Creuset in that they can function as a crock pot overnight.

First tries on non stick yielded poor results for this high heat impatient chef. Eggs require low slow cooking to get that TV slide off ... and it does work! Burnt late night mac 'n cheese sauces clean easily the next morning.

Quality of construction is on par with top brands. The see through glass lid is well made and a nice touch. The shape is slightly taller than some 4qts making it better for a single pasta boil but yielding less browning surface at he bottom of the pan. Interestingly, the glass lid fits perfectly on the 8" fry.. my guess is that the 5qt saute will work with the 12" fry and so on ... a good design feature.

Spirit sears and builds a fond at least 90% as well as traditional stainless and maybe on par. There is no steaming of food. Steaks brown up nicely and gravies are easily made with bits of protein residue in the pan.

They retain heat very very well.. maybe better than cast iron... for both the good and bad of it. Think flatbreads and pan pizza, hot cakes, and even serving dogs at table with a lid so that seconds and thirds are still hot. Truly a baking stone so beware: food will keep cooking if not removed from a very hot Spirit.

They are indestructible. My sharpest knives and metal utensils never leave a scratch. Clean up is a dream. Wrecks and burns happen but water over time will clean anything off a rock. I use a heavy duty Chore Boy cloth (Publix) for these and cast iron woks with excellent results.

Quite heavy. The 4 qt comes in at about 3lbs, 6oz. about one pound heavier than an All Clad 3qt and a pound less than a 4qt Viking WITH the helper handle. Small folks and seniors may have trouble... this pan needs a helper handle! The stay cool Y handles do the job.. my 8" lacks the Y design and gets very hot... the pics on Amazon suggest they have been changed to the Y design but beware. Assuredly, the are much lighter than Le Creuset.

Spirit takes a bit of time to heat, consistent with a baking stone. My induction cooktop brings it to temp quickly but regular tops will take more time. It heats and cools like Le Creuset (or other cast iron) but has better non-stick properties.

There are hints of hot spots in the pans; I perceive that there are more than in other pans but am not certain; this has in no way been a deal killer.

These spirit pieces are increasingly my goto cookware while many more expensive brands sit idle. If I had to buy one set only for a small kitchen or couple just getting started, this would be it, hands down. Also check out the lightweight chinese cast iron from Joyce Chen for seared smoky stir fry... even less expensive pans, albeit with their own set of drawbacks, that also leaves the big boys in the drawers.

These are the best I have used and I have had many different pot sets over the years. I am totally happy with my Zwilling.

Thank you.

I love this pot for cooking rice, refried beans, or any other sticky-type food. I have the Scanpan skillets and was going to purchase a pot in that brand, but happened upon this brand as it was just coming out. The store only had the skillets, so several months later I looked for the pot at Amazon and bought it. It is even much less priced than the same size pot from Scanpan.

I purchased two of these pans. One for my daughter and one for myself. She has used hers more then I have and she raves about how great it is. Easy cleaning and nothing sticks to the pan. I'm planning on getting some frying pans next. Highly recommend this product.

I have already written about how great these ceramic pans are, but they are so terrific that I am writing again. These are the best pans I have every used -even cooking, nonstick with little to no use of oil or butter, easy to clean. I have replaced all of my pans with Zwilling's Ceramic pans.

This was my first French press. I have always enjoyed this type of coffee, particular after dinner. However, I was attracted to the plastic framework surrounding the carafe, as I can be clumsy at times.

This press has worked just as well as the more expensive, more traditional looking French press pots. I set the coarsest setting on my Braun grinder, and no grounds get through the screen. It is just perfect. I haven't ever run my press through the dishwasher, it isn't necessary with the easy cleaning with this one. I just put hot soapy water in the carafe, up-and-down a few times with the plunger and it's all ready to use again. I have heeded the warning not to stir with a metal implement; I use a wooden spoon.

I would heartily recommend this model of Bodum for someone who would like to experience French press coffee at home, inexpensively.

Let's face it, dumping coffee grounds into a bucket of hot water is nothing new. The Bodum Press is a refinement of the cowboy coffee brewing method, minus the campfire & straining it thru a sock. In My world, there is no such thing as "too Strong" for coffee. There IS, however, too bitter & too acidy. The press does what perking, dripping and steaming ground coffee cannot do: produce a stout, yet smooth cup of coffee just like the stuff made around decades of my campfires.

Model Brazil, made in Denmark by a Swiss Company & called a French Press. No wonder the confusion over exactly how many cups this actually makes. The Euro-instructions for the press say 4 oz. per cup, but even my fine Bavarian China cups (from when I lived in Munich) are 6 ounces.

Just look at it this way: It holds 32 ounces of water.

The instructions on your roast coffee container usually say to use 1 TBSP per 6 ounces of water (NOT 4 ounces & NOT 8 ounces). Again, in MY world, 32 ozs. makes about 2 cups of coffee.

I toss in 6 or more scoops of ground coffee, pour in hot water & wait the obligatory 4 minutes. The result is a smooth coffee that you can drink by the quart without that nasty heartburn/reflux side effect.

It's ideal for work, where the office sissies are afraid of offending anyone with REAL coffee, so they make it weak. I simply step up to the hot water spigot & take the Press to my desk.

Now, you, too, can have coffee the way you like it at work without having to cover up someone's botched brew with that foo-foo Vanilla, Hazelnut, Irish Cream or other phoney-flavored faux creamers.

Cleanup? Swirl around some soapy water, & dump the grounds down the sink just be sure to have the water blasting & the garbage disposal running, so as to not plug up the sink trap.

Even if you already have the coffee-brewing apparatus of your dreams, buy the Bodum 32 oz. model. You won't be disappointed.

I have two Chambord models, and this one. I prefer the features of the Brazil's keyed lid, and secured plastic frame to the Chambord models. I've had this for about 3 years now, use it every day, and it's held up perfectly. Great press.

Honest reviews on Bodum Brazil 8-Cup French Press Coffee Maker, 34-Ounce

This is a very simple, easy-to-use and easy-to-clean French press. I couldn't be happier with it. Brewing with a French press generally results in much more flavorful, rich coffee than using a conventional drip coffeemaker.

Though it makes very good hot coffee, I especially like using it to cold-brew homemade iced coffee. Ever notice how when you try to make iced coffee at home by brewing some with a regular coffeepot and then sticking it in the fridge till it cools, it never tastes right? That's cause most good coffeeshops cold-brew their iced coffee, which results in a smoother flavor. When you cold-brew, you use time rather than heat to brew the coffee.

In case you've never cold-brewed coffee, here's how I do it: I take a grinder-ful of fresh-ground premium beans, toss them in the press's pitcher, fill it up the rest of the way with cool, filtered water, let it brew 12-15 hours at room temperature, then press the beans down, stick in the fridge for a while, and serve in a glass with some ice cubes. Delicious! Add sweetness and cream to taste. I'll save a fortune by brewing my own iced coffee from now on. (By the way, the directions for brewing hot coffee are the same, only you use hot water rather than cool, and the heat makes it brew in about 5 min rather than 12 hours.)

If you're a coffee nut like myself, whether you prefer it hot or cold (or either, depending on the weather), you owe it to yourself to try a French press, and this Bodum can't be beat for the money!

Had this item about a month now (8-cup size). I use six level scoops for a full 'pot'of strong coffee. Makes about 3-4 "American cups" (8oz +). More than I can drink in a day, so I share with office-mates.

PROS:

1)Coffee tastes better from this than from my drip coffee maker, IMHO. This is of, course, the number one reason for getting any coffee maker -otherwise we'd all drink instant and save the trouble of brewing and cleanup. Reading some reviews here and foodie-type sites, the great taste is because the 'natural oils' from the beans are not filtered out by a paper filter. I don't notice 'oily' coffee or any other change in texture but I do notice the upgrade in taste and that earns four stars right there.

2)(YMMV on this)My office has a hot-water spigot at the water cooler so I get hot coffee slightly faster than the generic drip coffee maker where I have to wait until all dripping's done to get my one cup cleanly. If you don't have a ready source of hot-water, more time will be added waiting for water to heat up.

CONS:

1)You'll still get some 'silt' (micro grounds), even when you coarse grind your coffee. This is mostly due to my grinder, I guess, but a work-around is that I've started to use a small strainer as my scoop. Using this, most of the silt is discarded -but some still gets through.

2)Keep in mind that the round-ball press handle prevents the mesh part from reaching all the way to the bottom of the container. Because of this, if you put 4 or less scoops (i.e. making a only a cup or so), there's still some space leftover and you don't get that extra squeezing out of flavor from the grounds. Also, I think I got a little more 'silt' when trying to get the last drops out than I got from a full load. Perhaps a packed set of grounds traps more silt than a loosely packed mound.

3)Cleanup is pretty messy, and is my biggest CON for me. As AZshooter recommended, I also use a stream of water to get out the grounds. Works WAY better than trying to scrape them out dry into the trash bin. This, of course, requires a drain and water source. Also, a few grounds always get stuck in the metal frame that holds the mesh in place. I have to use a toothpick to get them out.

Lastly, be sure to drink all the coffee quickly OR separate it from the gounds by pouring the coffee into another container (e.g. thermos). The acidity of the coffee grounds begins to taint the flavor of the liquid above if you leave them together for an hour or longer. This and CON #2 should weigh into consideration as to which size French press to buy.

The most beautiful jam pan you can get.It is hammered,so you will not see

any single scratch or dent on it which is a usual problem with copper

cookware.I have bought mine one year ago and am very happy with it.The color of the jam made in copper pan is much nicer than the SS and the pan is made from 1.2 mm-gauge copper and is much thicker than leight weight jam pans

from matfer or m passion mauviel. You can also use this beauty as beverage / ice bucklet in the parties or as magazine rack .

I suggest to use only silicone spatula/spoonula and use silicone/wooden ladle to avoid scratches since the bottom is not hammered.

I would also suggest to buy a smaller size to have a better heat control

and also be very careful with the brass handles.they get very hot.Wash

it after the use,dry it with paper towel and put it on the still hot stove

to get ride of last drops of water in rivets and rolled rims.

Best Deals for Mauviel Cookware: M'Passion Copper Jam Pan with Bronze Handles

Wow. Who could've guessed that switching out to the Mauviel jam pan could make so much of a difference?

From my blog post () about my adventures in jam making:

"Perhaps my biggest surpise came when I made the switch from heavy commercial stainless kettles to the classic French Mauviel copper jam pots. I had always figured it was some sort of silly conceit, needing these beautiful but very pricey pots. What's the big deal, I said.

Well, once I tried one, I swore never ever to go back to the tall stainless pots. These make better jam. Period. The reason? The sloping sides is one. They allow for much faster evaporation of the water and that's essentially what we do when making jam. We draw/evaporate the water out from the fruit by boiling, replacing it with sugars. Additionally, the copper heats so evenly and quickly, that I never have any more `hot spots' or scorched jam. I use the 10.6 quart size."

If you are serious about making classic artisan jams/confitures, then you will appreciate the wonderful functionality and superb craftsmanship of the Mauviel jam pots. There are other pans and I've tried them but nothing rivals these. The heavy-duty copper makes scorching a thing of the past! And cleanup couldn't be easier.

You won't be sorry about getting one of these, and rest assured that you will have it and admire it for a lifetime. It's a wise investment in your craft.

This is a beautiful well made pot that does a wondful job producing amazing results. The only drawback is that copper is hard to keep shiny the mediums fault not the pots.

Nothing burns or sticks to the bottom. Fruits keep their wonderful color. Buy it together with Mes Confitures a book by a frenchwoman, who treasures natural, chemical free gourmet style preserves.

After cooking for a month...LOVE it even more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I learnt: Never, ever heat the pan without the fruit in it-it will stick at once. Please do not give or believe bad reviews of poor polish. It is not poor polish, it is a difference between inside where you cook and outside where you are not.

Copper will develop rich beautiful patina with time.

Wash it in hot, or soak it in hot and never cold water after finishing cooking.

Always dry it as you finished washing.

ENJOY!!!!!!!

If you are looking for good quality, affordable cookware, I highly recommend Calphalon Contemporary for the following reasons:

1. No teflon or aluminum in contact with the food

2. Lids fit perfectly. Lids on regular Calphalon and other cookware we looked at were loose fitting, wobbly.

3. Easy to clean with soap and water. Certain foods will leave some discoloration which is easily removed using "Barkeepers friend".

4. "China" is not stamped anywhere on the Contemporary. This meant a lot to us. All other cookware we looked at including the standard Calphalon had "Made in China" stamped on the bottom. We don't like anything made in China, but as most everything is, at least we don't have to be reminded of it every time we use our Calphalon Contemporary. Judging by the perfect weight, design, and quality of the Contemporary cookware, it's hard to believe it's made in China.

We have purchased our Calphalon Contemporary cookware piece by piece so as to have only the cookware we typically use with nothing wasting space in the cupboard. We currently have seven pieces in our collection not including lids. The Calphalon Contemporary cookware is well worth the added cost over the regular Calphalon cookware. Hope this review helps.

I built a calphaon contemporary set and this pan worked beautifully. I only wish they made a 1 quart model. HOWEVER, the first time I used it, it turned blue. I called the company number and they explained sometimes that happens at first and Bar Keepers Friend will fix it right up.

And it did! Now it only gets discolored occasionally and Bar Keepers Friend makes it look like the day it arrived.

Best Deals for Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Glass Lid

We bough this pot separately as we really needed two of them and only one came in the initial set we bought. We love the entire line, and this particular saucepan is great for small jobs, like heating a can of soup, cooking hot cereal, or making small sauces for a meal. The cookware is sturdy, the lids work great, and they hold up well. Very pleased.

Honest reviews on Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Glass Lid

I bought the Calphalon because I have a Gaggenau ceramic-top stove and my Revereware took FOREVER to heat on its elements. (The copper bottom wasn't flat enough, and wound up reflecting instead of absorbing the heat.) The Calphalon is almost too good--we're having to relearn how to cook on this stove, because the pan is so heat absorptive and retentive it's easy to overcook our food. We can use a much lower temperature, and take the food off the burner much sooner. I'm sure our lowered electricity bill this year will more than make up for the cost of these pans.

We have a set of Calphalon pans and just wanted another small saucepan. I found the exact same pan on Amazon for $20 less than the manufacturer's site or any store I compared. A major store was having a 20% off sale, but they had jacked the manufacturer's price up $10, so it still came out to quite a bit more than this seller's price.

The pan arrived very nicely packed well protected and was obviously new and in great condition. An excellent deal for an otherwise expensive pan!

I specifically wanted the double loop handles which are easier to fit on my apartment stove, plus easier to lift with my arthritis. I was concerned by the somewhat light gauge of the sidewalls, but they haven't been a problem. They're thinner than heavier high end pans. But surprisingly, they're about the same as my 30 year old Cuisinart stainless. The heavy base provides even temps on the stove top. The all metal and glass construction allows use in the oven. They clean easily if you soak crusty stuff first. After a year of use, the mirror finish still looks new, but there are a few scrape marks inside the pans.

I would definitely recommend these.

I was skeptical about ordering a non-stick surface griddle for health concerns, however, when I read the description of the surface that was provided with the packaging, I was very pleased. This product is next-generation non-stick, and is not a safety hazard in the the way the old-time non-stick was. The griddle itself is a work of art, especially the part that makes contact with the stove, so I hang it on a hook with the bottom facing out, and it looks like modern, Mexican art hanging in my kitchen. Plus, the griddle works great with my ceramic cooktop stove.

I have owned both the Fresher Longer (at Sharper Image when they are still around) and OsoFresh containers (from Amazon) for several years and they have been wonderful for me. As far as I can tell it is the same products that has changed name/company over time, but this latest iteration maintain the same high quality as the previous versions and the Nano Silver . As the other reviewer has commented the lips are interchangeable with the old containers and I like how the smallest container is now taller, which make it much more useful. The containers are well-built and use high-quality, very thick plastic wall all-around, which means it will not warp or deformed. It is spill-proof, microwaveable, dishwasher safe and freezer-safe, what more can you ask for?

UPDATED 10/26/11

For those of us who worries about BPA. These containers are BPA-free. I have just purchased my 3rd sets, not because the old containers are worn out, but rather they are working so well that my parents want a set of their own too. I am still using the original Fresher Longer set (yellow color) I bought from the Sharper Image store 5 years ago. The silicone seal and the 4 side tabs works just as well as day one in making the containers spill-proof.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

They come in sizes I find convenient, stack nicely, and I like how the lids fit (though it does require a little figuring out at first). They can go in the microwave if you unlock the lids. So far there has been no marring of the insides like I've had with other containers. Not only do I give them a 5 star rating, but I would buy them again AND recommend them to a friend.

June 2011 Had to update my review and remove a couple of stars. After some use, I am no longer as happy with them as I once was. My original review stated I would buy them again and recommend them. I would no longer buy them again and would no longer recommend them. They're just like all the other containers I've gotten over the years: good when they're brand new but their useful qualities deteriorate.

Problem #1: mold forming inside the silicone seal of the lid. Eww! Gross! I had to pick it out with a butter knife. Makes me wonder what microscopic yucky stuff is inside there infiltrating our food. So much for the antimicrobial attributes.

Problem #2: The lids no longer consistently and interchangeably fit. I've put them in the dishwasher on the top rack on occasion but mostly hand washed them. Sometimes the lids fit fine, other times they don't seem to line up. The lids can't be forced to closed. You have to try a different lid.

Stained by leftover pasta with tomato sauce after less than 24 hours holding the food, just like any other container.

I also find them a little hard to open when they are sealed. That isn't necessarily a product flaw, just my observation.

Best Deals for Kinetic Go Green Premium Nanosilver Food Storage Container Set

I loved these storage containers for a number of months. They seal properly, don't leak, come in a variety of sizes, and the lids for many sizes are interchangeable.

Unfortunately, about 9 months into owning and using them regularly, they all began to develop a disgusting buildup of black mold or mildew under the silicon seal in the lid. It appears that when moisture gets underneath the seal, there's no way for it to escape, and mold develops. I can't find a way to remove the seal, and I hesitate to bleach them since I use them for food and worry about chemicals seeping into the plastic. I'm afraid they'll all have to be thrown away.

Huge disappointment.

Honest reviews on Kinetic Go Green Premium Nanosilver Food Storage Container Set

I ordered this item because of the nanotechnology and I do think that food stays fresh longer when using it. Red grapes were fresh after 2 weeks in the container. I do have a problem with the locking mechanism on them. Some of the lids are impossible to lock and I end up trying several lids to find one that locks on 3 or 4 sides. They require quite a bit of force to lock. I have a set of Lock and Lock containers and do NOT have this problem with them.

These containers have helped me lose 25 lbs! I can buy better produce at the warehouse store and it stays fresh long enough to use it (rather than throw away the remainders). I routinely keep celery 3-4 weeks and asparagus stays like just-picked for over a week. Strawberries will last a week if you don't wash them before storing them. Don't wash anyfresh fruit or vegetable before storing. I have had tomatoes last over a week in these just sitting on the counter! You'll be buying them as gifts next!

We contemplated whether we should just buy a cheap version of this size or pay the extra bucks and get the same one. With my really good experiences with the first one, I decided I did not want to chance it. The following are the positives of this baker:

1) Great size for family sized lasagna, potato gratin and generously sized dishes;

2) Bakes evenly with no "hot spots";

3) Glaze is so smooth and without defects so often found on cheaper bakers that clean up is super easy;

4) You can stick this in fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher without worrying wheather it will crack (the only place you cannot use this is the stove);

5) It looks so good that it can go directly from oven to table; and

6) The handles are perfect for getting a secure grip when handling in mitts, but not too protrusive that storage in fridge would be a hassle.

The cons are:

1) Price;

2) No cover.

But, over the years, I have purchased and cherished many Emile Henry baking dishes and there is simply no comparison they look as beautiful now as 20 years ago when I started collecting different ones.

Wow! I just had to make two back-to-back dishes of my Crepes Ensenada and needed to hurry doing it. So I made one full dish, cooled it, took it out, and without cleaning it first (I never would do that with any other dish!), baked another full dish. Yes, I had to use a scraper on it after it soaked, but it came out clean, without too much time spent doing it too. No scratches and lovely crepes to boot. The only thing about this dish is that, because of its size, one has to be very careful washing/rinsing it, so it is not banged in the sink. If banged, like glass, it may crack at a future date.

The color is a bit darker than the picture of the red Cherise and the yellow Citron dishes. Of course, when one is viewing colors on a computer, the type of graphics card and its settings can cause variations on the color we see vs. the color that the host site is actually displaying.

I have two in this size. Absolutely, hands down -- love this baker. It cleans beautifully, I made lasagna for Christmas dinner, of course some cheese burned onto this baker............ cleaned like a champ. Looks brand new. The price can't be beat.

And as I always state with Emile Henry, Le Crueset, Fiestaware....... they are safe to cook in. No toxins being released into your food. For "me" this trumps all of the other wonderful qualities!

Great purchase.

Honest reviews on Emile Henry 14.5" x 11" Lasagna Dish

Well I love Emile Henry, so I knew this would be a great purchase. I made Baked Ziti and did it in a plain Pyrex 9"x13" dish. And it was jam packed. Almost mounded on top. Had to bake it on a cookie sheet so it could bubble over. So I wanted to get a slightly bigger dish to have some more room. At first I was worried it would be too big because it says its 5 quarts. (The 9x13 is a 3 quart). But the size is PERFECT. It doesn't look like it is almost twice the size of the 9x13. But I filled it up with water and sure enough it holds 5 quarts. I love this dish. I know it will get tons of use. I decided on yellow and it is soooo pretty. Great investment!

I bought this as a gift for a good friend as I was given one about ten years ago. If you invest in this type of baking dish, you will be rewarded by the longevity and quality of the product. However, Amazon had to send me two, as the first one broke on the way to me, not wrapped well enough, so the gift was late...One really nice thing about the Emile Henry pottery is that the food does not stick. After years on my lasagne pan, I have no blackened leftovers or stains. I highly recommend these dishes and wish I could afford more of them!

This cover does fit the "16 inch Traditional Cast Iron Wok" by Wok Shop much better than the Lid for 16" Wok (dome lid 18 gauge) Made in USA.

The latter lid does not fit correctly it is too small.

The Winco cover comes unassembled, and the handle is secured by two screws. The handle does not heat up appreciably (I haven't noticed it), and this cover is much easier to manipulate than the lid that has only one screw in the center.

If you are wondering about the clip-like object in the photo, apparently it is a hanger loop for storing the cover on a hook on the wall. The clip is spot-welded to the cover and has not presented a problem.

enjoy...

The material used to make this is paper thin! It was deformed when I got it and was able to reshape it back with ease using just my fingers.

I ordered two sets of these mugs last year for our first Angel tea in memory of a dear friend from church. They were a gift to each of the ladies I invited to be at my table. They were an affordable gift as I had to buy for eight. I can always find something on Amazon to help me out with gifts and other needs as well.

This pan is really handy. It has tall sides for those ideas that can splatter and it is the perfect size for a small family. I like it so much I have 2!

This is an excellent pan for glass topped ranges. The base is perfectly flat and very stable. The glass top is convenient for watching your food without lifting the lid (and losing heat) as it cooks. A simple turn of the lid to line up the vent holes with the pour spouts allows your food to vent excess steam, or turn it to block the holes to keep the steam inside. It is very well made and easy to clean. Do NOT use it on high heat or the non-stick coating will be destroyed. (I found out the hard way.) It is a very versatile pan, but should be used only at medium and low temperatures. I would not recommend it for gas cooktops because gas burners concentrate heat in a very small area (even on "low"), which would quickly ruin the non-stick coating.

I really loved this pan, very multi purpose so rated it 3 star even though it only lasted less than a year.

I would say if you use it close to once daily it wont last a year. Even though I used

all plastic utensils it started peeling around the sides which makes no sense as the contact with spatuals was on the bottom

of the pan. Disappointed I had to toss it.

Honest reviews on WearEver A8349765 Cook and Strain Stainless Steel 10-Inch Covered

I have had one of these pans for a couple of years.`It is absolutely the best pan in the word for cooking spaghetti since you can do a great job of draining the pasta after cooking it. I use a "pasta wrench" pasta server when adding full length spaghetti to boiling water since otherwise the noodles are a bit too long the "pasta wrench" serving tool lets me soften and bend the noodles when I add them to the boiling water. I cook the pasta covered on medium for 10 minutes in 1/2 pan of water, drain it with the pan, add some cold sauce and reheat for a minute or two great pasta every time!

I also use it for stir frying.

The glass lid is great, keeps the heat in. The straight sides are good for boiling and stirring but I prefer a slope sided glass-covered pan for eggs and omelets.

My only complaint it that I managed to semi-incinerate the non-stick coating on the pan walls by leaving the pan on a lit burner and now it's flaking off. I could swear I've seen pans like this with no non-stick coating, but only occasionally. I sort of wish I had one. The non-stick coating is the Achilles heel of coated pans. Bare stainless is forever!

I purchased one of these pans 5 years ago for my boyfriend. The pan has made it through 3 states and 1 wedding and finally just now gave out. Since we use the pan at least twice a week, I think that's pretty good. Am buying another as a replacement.
