First the good: This teapot is absolutely gorgeous. Nice size for one, although its 20 oz capacity means that I have to rethink my usual dose of tea (I'm used to making tea in 16 oz increments and now will have to recalculate how many leaves to use).

And I love being able to watch the tea change color as it brews. Will be even more fun should I ever decide to indulge in a tea blossom.

Now the less good:

1) Seems fragile, but then, you know, glass and all. Seems like it would be. Hard to fault it for that.

2) Infuser lets leaves through into the main pot, so even after taking the infuser out to pour you will either have to deal with a few leaves in your tea or pour through a mesh sieve to catch the leaves (I used an old, fairly large tea ball that I had languishing in a drawer from my pre-tea pot days). The glass infuser is far prettier than a mesh one would be, so the trade off here is appearance vs. function. I am satisfied with my workaround, but wanted others to know, in case a few leaves in the pot/cup/using a mesh sieve when pouring would be a bother for them.

3) Plus, glass by its nature doesn't keep things warm. Which means that my cup of white tea was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately on pouring. This is great for me, but if you don't want to drink the tea right away, you'll need to pour it into something that will keep it hot for a while rather than leave it in the pot.

I received this teapot a week ago, after buying another one and then returning it because the top didn't fit. This one is nice to look at and has some nifty ergonomic features. If you look at the handle, you see a mysterious indentation in the shape. As soon as I lifted the pot, I discovered this bend nestles securely with the bottom of my hand, helping prevent if from slipping. Also, the inside of the handle has slight ridges that are comfortable and also help easily maintain a secure grip. The ball at the top of the lid is shaped to make gripping it feel secure. Oh, did I mention how pretty the thing is?

The product says it is microwave safe, and I've been using it in the microwave. Although the glass is not as thick and heavy as that of some brands, I think it is durable. I'll post an update if this turns out not to be the case.

As other people have noted, the infuser has narrow slots cut into the glass. They have to be narrow to keep the tea leaves within the infuser, making it prone to being clogged with tea leaves and debris. It is easy enough to use dental floss to clear out the slots. For me, it is easier to just let the loose tea settle to the bottom of the pot and not use the infuser at all. I did use it once, and it worked fine.

Typically, the inside of a teapot gathers stain over time, which can easily be cleaned by boiling some water in it, and then adding some dishwashing detergent. Then drain and wipe the inside with a cloth. If you use a microwave, boil the water first, before adding the detergent, to avoid having it boil over.

Usually the outside and top don't need as much cleaning, but there are some difficulties. Where the top of the handle joins the pot the clearance is narrow, and so probably a challenge to clean there if it is ever needed. Also the lip of the top is flat, so moisture doesn't drain easily. If you turn it upside down, the moisture collects at the sharply angled juncture of the lip, so it doesn't evaporate easily. You can turn it upside down in a cup, so the moisture collects in the center, where it evaporates quickly or can be blotted away.

My wife bought me a combination Coarse Salt and Whole peppercorn grinder (squeeze type) for Christmas. It broke in half after about 4 months of use, rendering it functionally useless. Aside from the shoddy workmanship, the grinding mechanism left A LOT to be desired; everything came out coarse regardless of the setting you used. I was looking for a replacement and found these Salt or Pepper mills on Amazon. I bought one white and one black; for the obvious reasons (white = salt and black = pepper; for those of you in Rio Linda, as Rush would say).

They both work fantastically. They have twist-to-grind ceramic mechanisms, are made of glass and hold quite a bit of either salt or pepper. The coarseness dial is very adjustable and the price was just right. Buying two of these on Amazon cost me less than half what the double grinder my wife bought me cost so that satisfies my cheapness gene. I use them every day and have had them nearly a mont now. So far, not a single complaint to be made about them at all. They work as expected every single time I use them; the mechanism doesn't "gum up" with material, the coarseness settings work very well, and they look good on my table.

I have a cabinet full of salt mills -some never worked, some worked for awhile, some simply fell apart, and some -well, they "kind of" work. This one works! It works consistently, it holds a lot of salt, it's easy to clean and fill. What else can I say? It's also attractive, and I will be ordering one for my pepper as well.

I've been using this little pan for a few months. I seasoned it like I season cast iron and I've had no problems. I haven't babied it at all. It is my go-to pan for cooking bacon and eggs, pancake, and sauteing vegetables. It browns steaks very well, although it doesn't have the heat-holding power of cast iron.

All in all this seems like an excellent bargain pan. The fit and finish isn't as nice as some of the more expensive options, but it has performed well and I'm thinking about purchasing another one for campfire use.

I bought this pan to make large batches of gluten-free waffles. We have been buying them frozen from the grocery store, and they are not inexpensive. So I make a huge pile of waffles with the pan, freeze them between sheets of parchment and use them the same way we use the store-bought ones. I find it helpful to cover the pan for the first side of cooking. They come out with only one side shaped like a waffle, and they are smaller than the store-bought ones. I most like that we can make waffles without having to store a big waffle iron, which I would probably use like twice a year.

Cheap Natural Home Products 9pc Cookware Set

I wanted to wait a while before posting a review, as somethings the flaws in these things are not readily apparent on the first few uses. First, the cookware nests perfectly and has helped to get back some much needed space in with all my pots and pans. For me, these pans have essentially become my go to pans for cooking. I only occasionally use the other non-stick pans that I have.

The two skillets are solid and have good bottoms to them. I like the additional little handle on the opposite side of the skillet which makes having to maneuver it around the kitchen very easy. The pots are also easy to use and to nest. There were some complaints in the previous posts about the handles and overflow of boiling through the handles. I understand what people mean, but its mainly a concern when the lid is aligned so the gap there for the nesting is aligned on the handles as well. However, I actually like the design, because when there is overflow, it travels through the handle and out the hole at the end of the handle which is away from the burner and prevents the flare-ups that you get when you are boiling something. I see that as a not bad feature. This is either a design flaw or feature depending on your personal view of it.

Overall the pots are all solid, well made and work well. They also are a great set of basic pots for anyone needing to stock a kitchen, and they are great space savers!

This cookware LOOKS well-designed; good features like OK to use on induction burners, SORT OF stackable, uses recycled metal: Those few good features don't redeem it... it goes badly wrong from those.

We've been using these for several months; they are badly designed & can be hazardous:

===Lids APPEAR nice, but try to clean them! Inside edges have about 1/2" recess between edge where glass is held & the actual rim of the lid. That has fairly sharp edges to the metal rims: shreds cleaning cloths & sponges used to wash them, & can cut one's hands. Because that recess inside lid rim is so deeply inset, & just narrow enough, it's tough to clean hand.

A really good dishwasher might help; but be VERY careful when hand-washing these lids, to prevent getting cut!

===Lids seal poorly: steam escapes; cooks must watch that foods being cooked do not get too dried out, & prevent themselves being steam-burned.

===Plastic lid handles also go inside lids, in order to allow some lids to stack, therefore, heat from cooking can put VOC's into foods, which MIGHT be a toxicity problem. ALSO, since handle-plastic is inside exposed to heat, heat can excessively transfer to outside handle, making picking up the lid by a hot handle a safety issue.

===EZ-Store pots & pans have micro-grooves in metal interiors due to cheap manufacture. ALL pans with micro-grooves cause foods to stick & burn, makes cleaning some things a nightmare! Micro-grooves collect microscopic residues, which can form potential vectors for infection.

ONLY pans machined very smooth inside, will have non-stick capability;

IF Non-toxic, Non-stick is what you seek, look for OTHER cookware with surface like those inside classic Revere-ware pans:

To make non-stick metal surfaces, those MUST be very smoothly cast or machine polished: EZ-Store pans are NOT.

===And no, they don't ALL stack together.

The pans stack, but the lids don't all stack, & pots don't stack with the pans very well.

You'll need to make 2 or more stacks, at least one large lid must be by itself--a 3rd stack?

===Stainless steel pans must have something magnet-attractive inside their bases to work with induction burners; at least EZ Store pans have that.

Bottom line: The company needs to correct the design flaws--at least correct the safety issues!!

I purchased this for our RV and I can totally see using this in our home too. The stacking feature is a great way to save space and the quality of the cookware is excellent! The only minor concern I have is that when I stacked them without anything in between them as a buffer, the metal on metal caused a dark mark on the pans. I now have a paper napkin in between each pot to prevent it from rubbing on each other. This may not be an issue if you plan on using it at home, since there won't be much jostling around from bumps in the road while traveling in an RV.

I'll admit, this is the first dutch oven I have owned/used. But I'm very pleased with it!

The preseasoned surface is better than expected. Cooked foods come off easily; though a deglazing helps greatly. The handles really do stay cool when cooking on the stove top. It is somewhat heavy. Though it reeks of quality and I expect it to last a lifetime.

Would recommend! :)

I have been using Lodge cast iron for years and love the even heating and chemical free non stick surface. Also made in USA. Care is easy and seasoning isn't a big deal. However, I recently installed an induction cooktop and was concerned about scratching. The enameled cast irons do not scratch but to me the enameled/coated insides defeat one of the benefits of cast iron.

I went to Lodge's web site to request they make an induction friendly set with natural cast iron insides and found they already did: the signature series!

I found the pan to be the same great quality of the other lodge pans. The seasoned surface works well but it will need some additional seasoning to get to the same level of my older pans.

The sleek new handles are sharp looking but will get hot with prolonged cooking (ie stovetop soup making). I don't see this as an issue but I also didn't have any issue with the other pans. Just use a potholder.

If you love cast iron and have induction, this pan is for you.

DID NOT PLACE LE CREUSET in a pre-heated oven (hot). FYI this is NOT my first piece of Le Creuset stoneware 2 (two) other pieces have "cracked," due to placing them in hot-oven. Sad to say this is not the LeCreuset stoneware made "back in the days" (France), But MADE IN CHINA or other Asian countries. Cooking/Baking was has NOT change (great), Clean-up NO PROBLEM, Great in refigerator/freezer and Great serveware. If any "crack" issues arise will not hesitate to "downgrade" review.

I was very excited to receive the product because all of my baking products have been ruined by my male roommates who do not know how to use them. Within two days, I recieved the product and it was excellent. So far I have used all the bakeware except the cake pans since I don't typically make cake. The muffin tin, loaf tin and cookie sheet are all non stick and excellent with even heat distribution so everything cook perfectly and evenly.

I would recommend this to everyone, especially for the cheap price.

If you are into stainless, you really can't go wrong with this one. The three settings work great, it cranks out a lot of pepper with each twist, it is attractive, sturdy, and easy to fill and operate. There really isn't anything else I could ask for.

Update 1/21/2009 It broke after 2 years. If I could change my rating, I'd give it 2 stars instead of 5. I know I can't expect everything to last forever, but 2 years? I expected more from a $30 pepper mill. To its credit, it worked perfectly until it died.

This mill offers an easy and consistant grind. It has three settings of courseness, and the fine setting actually "fine", unlike some other W&B pepper mills. It's a little hard to fill because a non-removable cross section in the body, but that really my only complaint. I've only had it for a few weeks, so hopefully it continues to give a consistant grind in the future.

I'm just retiring mine after about 8 years of service. It was a gift and is exactly like this model, except it has a wooden body (referred to as "Espresso & Stainless Steel" on the William Bounds site).

The Good:

I really liked the grind select ring which allows you to adjust between the 3 grind sizes without having to fiddle with a screw on the bottom of the mill. (Caveat see below)

Maintains consistent grind size.

The Bad:

It's a bit hard to fill due to two perpendicular crossbars across the top, through which you must pour the peppercorns.

Doesn't output very much pepper per turn. It is very tedious to grind out a couple of tablespoons worth of pepper for recipes or rubs.

Questionable longevity I gave one to my mother-in-law as a gift. Less than two years later she's having trouble with the selection ring. Mine took longer to start giving me trouble, but after about 4-5 years I, too, started having some trouble with the ring. The output is almost completely unaffected by the selection on the ring. The upshot is that I have to fiddle with the screw on the bottom after all! The ceramic milling mechanism has a lifetime warranty, but I'm not sure about the ring. In any case, I don't have a receipt because this was a gift.

The Conclusion:

After about 8 years, I'm left with the impression that this is a good mill, but that the quality is over-hyped.

I've just replaced it with the Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill 9-in. It is the top-recommended mill by Cooks Illustrated and is Alton Brown's choice as well. I don't find it as aesthetically pleasing, and I'll have to wait and see how long it lasts, but I've been very impressed with it so far. I can tell you this: right out of the box the Unicorn is doing a much better job delivering very coarsely ground pepper (cracked pepper) than the William Bounds ever did.

As a chef, I count on my equipment to come through and I have used these peppermills for years and they never let me down. It doesn't matter if I am doing some in-home catering, serving hundreds at a party, or even covering an extra shift at the restaurant; the first things I pack are my knives and my peppermill. The grind adjustments for coarse, medium, and fine are quick and precise. They work every time and deliver consistent grind quality and quantity. It is refreshing to find such a quality piece of kitchen essentials that delivers on all promises. They don't put lifetime warranties on these lightly, and I have never had to take them up on that. Please do yourself a favor and get a functional, important piece of equipment and you will know why I give these out for Christmas to my friends.

On the surface this pepper mill had it all... nice sturdy look, large capacity, and an easily selectable grind size. I'll say up front that we cook a lot, so the mill got pretty heavy use. It worked great for about a year, then the plastic parts cleverly hidden beneath the metal top began to disinegrate. It still works, but I'm not sure for how long... and some of what I think is pepper on my eggs may be ground up black plastic. Seriously though, I'm changing brands.

I just wanted to write a quick review for this...

It works great as a poacher. The metal tray doesn't have a handle to lift it up when it is hot, but rather just a hole for your finger I guess. It also is getting "stains" on it. Like it is discoloring a bit, though it has no impact on the metal or cooking. It just a cosmetic thing. The handles on the poach cups are riveted on and some of mine turn because of it. I would rather have handles that stay put. I see this as a possible problem in the future if these rivets break off. The poach cups are nicely coated and work great. The bottom of the cups have turned dark brown-like as the water is discoloring it when poaching. Doesn't effect the performance at all. Also the pan itself is coated and can be used by itself as a pan if need be. Seems sturdy enough for long term use. For the people who care-made in China.

I recommend this as it works great, but it looks pretty used already only having it for two months. There is probably something better out there for the price.

Also, FYI, I bought it here from CHEFs Catalog and the transaction went smoothly. No amazon box for those who care.

I first had poached eggs when I was tiny, my nan used to make them for me in Germany (my grandad was stationed there) I always thought they were German eggs!

Now 25 years on I still eat them but like to think I'm slightly more clued up to the fact that they are just poached eggs and you can get them anywhere ;)

This poacher is very nice, I've owned a few over the years that I take abroad where I work (you cant find them in the desert countries) and I must say that so far this is the better one, the non stick is very good if a little delicate (even using a plastic spatula I still see very light scratch marks.)

I wouldn't travel with it and this one stays at home because its too nice but it definitely gets its usage.

The lid doesn't allow too much steam to escape and more importantly none pours out near the handle like some others do for some strange reason.

What else can I say about an egg poacher? It poaches your eggs job done

The item looks good, but so far have no idea how well it works, and am getting very frustrated with the return process. Why can't the manufacturer just give me an address to return the item to, or just send me a new know fore the lid!

I purchased the 6 egg Chef's poacher and am not really happy with it. First off, the egg holders won't hold a large sized egg. This causes the whites to spill over into the water, which causes the water to foam up and boil over into the eggs and onto the stove.

Small eggs work, but are hard to find at the stores.

Next, the "satin-finished" aluminum egg support and bottoms of the egg holders quickly became tarnished, making them difficult to clean.

The poacher if heavy duty, but in my opinion not worth the price.

I threw out several teflon saucepans and frying pan and replaced them with Beka's enamel-coated ones. They are even BETTER than teflon with regard to non-stick and clean-up benefits. And, no concerns about teflon's problem at 450 degrees (heating an empty pan by mistake can quickly reach that temp).

We recently purchased two Lyon-line dutch ovens from Tramontina. The quality of this product as it is intended is superb in performance. It does all it says it will do. However, the whole unit heats to the same temperature throughout its entire surface, including the cover and cover handle. For someone who is accustomed to cooking with other products, cookin with the Tramontina Lyon becomes a dangerous task if one forgets to pick up the silicone mitten to open it of move it. Instinctively I reached for it to uncover and it gave me a little taste of its temperament. I already burnt myself twice and my wife refuses to venture into cooking with it. It's hard to comphrehend that a product so good and expensive couldn't have merited a thought into safeguarding the handles and the cover handle to shield the customer from burns, reason why I only rated it with three stars.
