This product works pretty well, fitting onto the handle well. The issues with it have been mentioned in other reviews: It's somewhat on the thin side, and can get hot if you leave it on the handle while cooking. Taking it off and back on everytime you manipulate your iron skillet can be annoying, especially if you forget and burn yourself however, the learning curve is rather short, especially after you burn yourself. And since the skillets are guaranteed to hold an even temperature throughout the whole skillet, you are assured of a nice, even burn to your entire palm.

I would pay a couple of bucks more for the Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitt it's thicker (so you feel less of the metal handle, giving you a psychological edge in being able to grip it firmly), stays cool longer, and although it's not in festive colors and pattern, it's utility-driven.

The first thing you need to realize is that when cooking with cast iron, the entire piece gets HOT. It is an even heating surface, and yes, that even includes the handles. That's why Lodge made the Hot Handle Holder Set, and they really hit the nail on the head with this one. The holders fit perfectly on the handles of the pans that they make. They slide on easily and can remain there while you're cooking the item, if it is not near an open flame of course. They protect your hands from heat, even when holding the pan for extended periods of time like while you're cleaning it after cooking. It also makes the handle more comfortable, and provides a pretty good grip. The red peppers are my favorite, but I also have a set of the green salsa holders and they're nice too. Lodge is a company that is known for their quality, and this product is no exception.

May shield heat a touch better than a kitchen glove. They are OK if you are going to use them on the cast iron handles for a few seconds at a time. Anything longer than that and they will get hot and so will your hands. So, unlike what a previous reviewer said, you cannot leave them on while the pot is on the stove, unless you are not cooking long enough for the handles to get hot (and in that case why even buy them), or if you want to get burned. The choice is yours. Hope this helps.

These handle covers are very handy and work well. I bought them with a Lodge cast iron skillet. Glad I got them since I know it would just have been a matter of time before I had burned my hand since I usually use more modern skillets. I am sure I would have forgotten to pick up a pot holder or an oven mit at some point before grabbing the iron handle. I have a gas stove top so the other thing I like about these sturdy handle covers is I don't worry about cloth hanging down from the handle to catch fire.

First the good: This teapot is absolutely gorgeous. Nice size for one, although its 20 oz capacity means that I have to rethink my usual dose of tea (I'm used to making tea in 16 oz increments and now will have to recalculate how many leaves to use).

And I love being able to watch the tea change color as it brews. Will be even more fun should I ever decide to indulge in a tea blossom.

Now the less good:

1) Seems fragile, but then, you know, glass and all. Seems like it would be. Hard to fault it for that.

2) Infuser lets leaves through into the main pot, so even after taking the infuser out to pour you will either have to deal with a few leaves in your tea or pour through a mesh sieve to catch the leaves (I used an old, fairly large tea ball that I had languishing in a drawer from my pre-tea pot days). The glass infuser is far prettier than a mesh one would be, so the trade off here is appearance vs. function. I am satisfied with my workaround, but wanted others to know, in case a few leaves in the pot/cup/using a mesh sieve when pouring would be a bother for them.

3) Plus, glass by its nature doesn't keep things warm. Which means that my cup of white tea was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately on pouring. This is great for me, but if you don't want to drink the tea right away, you'll need to pour it into something that will keep it hot for a while rather than leave it in the pot.

I received this teapot a week ago, after buying another one and then returning it because the top didn't fit. This one is nice to look at and has some nifty ergonomic features. If you look at the handle, you see a mysterious indentation in the shape. As soon as I lifted the pot, I discovered this bend nestles securely with the bottom of my hand, helping prevent if from slipping. Also, the inside of the handle has slight ridges that are comfortable and also help easily maintain a secure grip. The ball at the top of the lid is shaped to make gripping it feel secure. Oh, did I mention how pretty the thing is?

The product says it is microwave safe, and I've been using it in the microwave. Although the glass is not as thick and heavy as that of some brands, I think it is durable. I'll post an update if this turns out not to be the case.

As other people have noted, the infuser has narrow slots cut into the glass. They have to be narrow to keep the tea leaves within the infuser, making it prone to being clogged with tea leaves and debris. It is easy enough to use dental floss to clear out the slots. For me, it is easier to just let the loose tea settle to the bottom of the pot and not use the infuser at all. I did use it once, and it worked fine.

Typically, the inside of a teapot gathers stain over time, which can easily be cleaned by boiling some water in it, and then adding some dishwashing detergent. Then drain and wipe the inside with a cloth. If you use a microwave, boil the water first, before adding the detergent, to avoid having it boil over.

Usually the outside and top don't need as much cleaning, but there are some difficulties. Where the top of the handle joins the pot the clearance is narrow, and so probably a challenge to clean there if it is ever needed. Also the lip of the top is flat, so moisture doesn't drain easily. If you turn it upside down, the moisture collects at the sharply angled juncture of the lip, so it doesn't evaporate easily. You can turn it upside down in a cup, so the moisture collects in the center, where it evaporates quickly or can be blotted away.

I am so delighted with this cute little teapot!

Set arrived and is for the most part an excellent set of stainless steel pots and pans with Chef Gordon's name emblazoned upon them. Having been a fan of his shows, which are predicated on Chef Ramsay's unyielding eye for quality, I thought these items would be top notch.

For the most part they are any damage I can throw at them (burnt on foods, etc.) can be easily and quickly negated with a healthy application of bon ami. These have become my go-to pieces in my cooking arsenal.

The one minor flaw is that one of the lids arrived without the handle having been properly attached to the lid. The grommet connecting one end of the handle to the lid was unfinished, meaning it quickly came off and allowed the handle to rotate on the one grommet that was properly installed. This lid is essentially useless, and was rejected by Amazon to be handled by Royal Doulton, who has chosen to remain mum on my inquiries to have this shoddily constructed lid replaced.

Otherwise a wonderful set of cookware that functions (and cleans) extremely well that would likely garner a top notch review. Only wish RD would stand behind their products and repair the one errant lid in the set.

This is a great wok. I own Calphalon nonstick cookware, knives and am very happy with the brand. I saw this wok on Amazon and bought it to replace a brand-nameless nonstick wok that I bought on a whim at a discount store. Despite what a prior reviewer said, I found this wok to be of good quality. The lid has a substantially thicker rim and is heavier than the glass/metal lids on my Calphalon nonstick set. The wok itself is not too heavy (which is why I bought it) and is big enough to make a meal for 4-6. I found it heated well and I was able to cook on a gas burner just-under-medium heat and my wok heated quickly and cooked the food quickly as well. I generally don't put too much heat under my woks (unless the recipe requires it)as I would under my other stainless steel pots as the wok always seems to cook very well with little heat. So I had no problem with hot handles as my burner was not that high. When I was done cooking, I left the remaining food in the wok as I ate dinner and the food did not stick to the sides as I have had happen with other woks. It was easy to clean with a non-scratch sponge hours after I had finished cooking.

Its been a week since I started using this pan and I absolutely love it! This was my first transition from non-stick to stainless steel, and so I was very uncertain about how the experience would be, whether stuff would stick and I'd have to use a lot of oil. However, its been much easier than I expected. From the get go, I followed other users' suggestion to heat the pan thoroughly before adding oil or any other ingredient, and it has worked very well for me. I've cooked all our family meals for the past week in this pan and its been great! Highly recommend it.

It is a well-designed and sturdy wok. I have gone through several nonstick woks by T-Fal and Calphalon. I have destroyed them all using them at high heat. This Calphalon pan is very sturdy and handles the high heat. However, even with preheating the pan before putting in the oil, I find that the food still sticks to the bottom of the pan. I think that like other stainless steel pans, it doesn't distribute the heat as well as aluminum pans or even a traditional carbon steel wok. Also, it came with a nice sturdy glass lid. I wish the lid had came with a hole to release the steam.

I am satisfied with it though. It is easy to clean. I would not recommend washing it in the dishwasher--it will scratch the outside surface of the pan.

This is a Paella pan, not a fry pan as pictured. It has two handles (one on each side) and is supposed to be used to serve in also. Picture a metal casserole dish used for cooking and serving. For a super cheap solution, this is fine. However, there are better products to choose from. The reviews I read for this product said that the Winware cup fit nicely in the roaster. Indeed, it does, but the cup sits too high and presses up against the inside of the chicken. What you really need is a cup that sits LOWER so that the frame of the holder creates an open space for the moisture to evaporate out of the cup, through the diffuser, into the cavity of the chicken. This combination of holder and cup is fine, but the holes are going to be too close to the chicken to actually function as a diffuser. I have had great success with the webber poultry roaster (significantly more expensive thought) and will stick with that in future, using this only for turkeys and other big birds. I may also punch more holes in the upper part of the winware cup to enable more diffusion. Whatever you do, I'd recommend heating the liquid before mounting the chicken...in the hour that you cook the bird, you won't get all that much evaporation if you start from cold beer.

Last week I bought by second rack from Bayou Classic 880 stainless steel.

If I would purchase a rack again for gift, it would be the fox run.

Very close in designing and size, but the fox run was better looking metal

and the opening was just a hair larger...could not tell from looking at it.

The ONLY thing I did not like about this item was that there is no stainless can that came with it.

The stainless steel shaker from Wingate fits perfectly...also note that a Campbell's soup can WILL work.

I use this cleaver regularly when cutting chicken up including chopping through bones when prepping for stock. It works very well, is a great weight, heavy enough to cut without becoming tiring. I have brought it with me half way around the world, which should speak for it usefulness.

It chops bones, bangs through half frozen carcasses when necessary and is worth every penny.

Above is my original review, now I must amend that. The cleaver broke in half. No, I didn't use it drive nails or cut rebar. The thickest bones it ran into would be in a pork chop. Not even a thick cut pork chop at that. But it split in half just above the handle just where the transition to the blade occurs. Quite surprising and totally unacceptable for a product of this price range. If you see one cheap at a yard sale, buy it. Otherwise, don't bang your bank balance too deep.

I have, sadly, totally revised my view of Global and their quality assurance.

I purchased this cleaver about 2 years ago, specifically to hack bones for stock (thank you, Edna Lewis! Best recipe EVER!). Perfect balance, weight, sharpness this cleaver is truly exceptional such a pleasure to use. The current price is kind of a "yikes!" moment, but you get what you pay for. I have no doubt that this cleaver will outlast me, and that's worth 145 bucks. Seriously, I make stock once a month. So in the first year, this cleaver adds $11 for each batch of stock (which still comes out less expensive than that supermarket crap). Over 10 years, it drops to a buck a month. And this cleaver will last much, much longer than 10 years. This is an investment, which is why it will never be available at throwaway Wal-Mart. I promise you will not be disappointed.

While this piece lacks the razor sharpness of other Global offerings, it makes up for it by being able to split bone without chipping. I've only used it on poultry to date, but I have no doubt it'd be able to hack through larger game without issue. I still prefer the butcher's bone saw for chops, but when appearances don't count there's no beating the noble cleaver.

Mine arrived very sharp. Perfect for shaving meat. I use a Chicago heavy duty cleaver for brute jobs, I bang on it with dead blow hammer when needed. The Global is reserved for more refined tasks, like taking a chicken apart or making jerky. I touch up the edge with a Global diamond steel. Actually handier that a Chefs knife for many jobs.

I purchased 1 box. We eat a lot of popcorn so this only lasted us 6 days. Myself and the kids eat 1 pouch each. Too salty for my taste but I would strain half of the salt out and it was PERFECT for me then. I would recommend.

Out of this collection, I have the 5 qt, 3 qt and the large fry pan with 2 handles. These pans are great. I'm a hard cook on pans, I cook over high heat constantly. My first 3 qt and fry pan lasted me 3 1/2 yrs and I just recently bought them again. If you are a average cook, these pans will last you much longer. I don't baby my pans, I tend to abuse them, therefore I have to replace pans more often. The great thing about this 5 qt pan is the wider base and lower sides. So many 5 qt pans are high sided and have a smaller base. This is a great pan to fry bacon in, the higher than "fry pan" sides will catch more splatter. Excellent glass lids w/ this collection of pans. If you want them to stay black, don't wash in the dishwasher. Over time a "white haze" will develop and the black will turn a grayish color.

Cuisinart is a trusted brand name with good reviews so we had this item on our wedding wish list. I was really excited when we got this as a gift and the first time I used it there were no problems (handles can get hot but no big deal) A few weeks later I used the pot for the second time, ironically to make chili. I turned the heat down on the chili and placed the lid onto the pot to let it simmer. Fifteen minutes later..."POP!!!!" the lid shatters! dinner is destroyed and the trust in the Cuisinart brand is gone.
