I live alone so the size of this saucepan for steaming rice and making small soup portions is a good match to my lifestyle. Another advantage is that it matches the dimensions of the small burners on my glass top range, which reduces the energy consumption when I am preparing meals for myself.

One thing I particularly love is the way the pan evenly distributes heat when you are cooking. Some cookware I have used in the past either unevenly heats, or heats too quickly or slowly. This one responds to burner heat settings and changes in those settings in a graduated manner. For example, when I go from high to simmer, the liquid in the pan will go from boil to simmer reasonably quickly. Another feature I love is the small vent grommet in the glass lids, which relieves pressure build-up and prevents spillover that pans with non-vented tops are prone to cause at higher heat settings. And, finally, the glass top is a feature that I have grown to depend upon since it allows me to see at a glance the state of whatever I happen to be cooking or steaming in the pan.

With respect to construction the saucepan is well made in that the lid fits tightly and perfectly. This is unlike other inexpensive stainless cookware that I have purchased in the past where the construction is so flimsy that the only way to seat the lid is to slightly distort the pan! Not so in this case, which greatly adds to the value to me. I am fairly sure the construction is 20 gauge 18/8 stainless steel (I have long since discarded the packaging, but I own other medium weight cookware of the same construction that is marked as such.)

Cleaning is easy and I use a dishwasher, which has not caused any discoloration or the finish. In fact, I have had mine for over a year and use it at least three times a week and it looks brand new. I do cook on a glass top range and I never use maximum heat settings for over a few minutes. My typical use is to bring liquids to a boil before allowing them to simmer mainly for steaming rice.

Overall this saucepan is of reasonable quality at a very good price point. Mine has given me a solid year of service and is an integral part of my primary cookware.

I bought this pan purely for the price, but I was surprised by the quality. It works just as well as more expensive versions of the same product, and it cooks just as well as a non-stick pan. I've been phasing out teflon because of the chemicals, and this was a nice addition to my busy kitchen.

wHAT DO YOU SAY ABOUT A GOOD PAN IN 120 WORDS? i'LL TRY. IT IS A STURDY LITTLE STAINLESS PAN WITH A GLASS LID THAT HAS A BUILT IN VENT. IT CERTAINLY SERVES IT'S PURPOSE AND I REALLY LIKE IT AND USE IT REGULARLY.

I love this pan. It's the perfect size and shape (deep rather than wide) to make gravy and other sauces. The heavy bottom plate distributes the heat evenly. And it's shiny! I would recommend this pan.

It is a small pan for 1 or 2 people. Quality is decent. Not as heavy as the Farberware ones, but still very good. Handle doesn't get hot. Overall, I like it.

This two-pack is a great bargain. The skillets cook very well, and look better in person than they do in the photos. They have nicely attached handles, copper detailing on the bottom disc, and so forth -details that I would expect to find only in 10" skillets of $80 or so. Having two for less than $50 is excellent.

I've used the 10" a few times a week for several months and it still looks brand new. It cleans up perfectly with soap and water on both the cooking surface and the outside. I cook on a DCS gas cooktop, and the pans cook very evenly and are able to brown things nicely (with a bit of added oil). The surfaces seem to be just as good as on the first day.

Two notes that bear repeating for non-stick cookware: clean by hand, not in a dishwasher; and never, ever overheat them -use low to medium heat, never heat them when empty, and always add at least a few drops of oil so you'll be able to brown and have a warning sign (smoke) if overheated.

Cheers!

I purchased the Nouvelle Copper Anodized 8and 10-inch set from Macy's when it was on sale for something like $35 with a coupon. This series is coated with Dupont Autograph 2, which is Dupont's top of the line, most durable, nonstick coating. Is it toxic like Teflon? Well, it's listed in the same section of the Dupont website as Teflon, so it probably contains many of the same toxic chemical components. In fact, I can't tell if Autograph 2 is a product within the Teflon series from their website.

Anolon claims that these pans are oven safe to 500 degrees, which was a selling point for me. Most other nonsticks top out at 400 or 450 degrees. I figure the higher the temperature it can withstand, the less likely it'll melt or release toxic fumes during normal cooking.

These pans are heavy. Not cast-iron heavy, but certainly the heaviest non-stick pans I've ever owned. This is due to the thick bottom, which does result in longer preheating times (despite the copper), but ensures even heating across the bottom (no hot-spots, less burning).

The 8 inch pan, which I use most, is still fairly non-stick after a year and a half. The 10 inch pan has lost it's non-stick ability entirely. Eggs and fish stick to it as if it were unseasoned cast iron (OK, maybe not *that* bad).

I've taken good care of these pans, ensuring that I never heated above medium, used only wooden or silicon utensils, always allowed to cool before cleaning, and always hand washing with a non abrasive detergent and non abrasive sponge. But still, the 10 incher has failed. I should state that I do cook quite a bit, and these pans have gotten quite a bit of use. And they lasted as long as most of my other recent nonsticks have lasted. Well, at least the 10 inch did. As I already mentioned, the 8 inch is still decent. I give it another year tops before I have to replace that as well.

I just might take advantage of Anolon's lifetime warranty. I'm not sure it's worth it though, as I'll have to pay the shipping fees to send the pan to Anolon. And for all I know, they might not even honor the warranty after I send it...

EDIT:

Another selling point for me was that fact that these were manufactured in Thailand. Just about every other nonstick pan I've seen is made in China. China is perfectly capable of good manufacturing, but often quality control sucks (depending on the brand). Add to that various other factors and I'll gladly choose a pan made in Thailand. However, the recent floods crippled their manufacturing infrastructure, so maybe these will be made in China now.

On a side note, it would be so nice if Amazon listed the country of origin of the products they sell...

These are flat bottom, and work well with our glass topped electric stove. I can't comment on durability, because I haven't had them very long. They are well built, have a great non stick coating, strong handles that stay cool, and cook very evenly on my electric stove. The paperwork (or box, don't recall) say it's okay to use metal utensils with it.

Although I can throw a meal together, or follow a recipe, I'm no home-gourmet cook. My observation is that these take a little longer to heat through then the old cheap pans I used to have. Since there is a copper layer in the pan, I assumed it would heat faster. But they are thicker and heavier then the cheapos, so I guess that's what makes the difference. This is NOT a problem by any stretch.

I recently bought the 12 inch skillet, they all cook great. I wanted lids for the pans, and found that the glass lids from the Anolon "Advanced" cookware line fit very well, and look great. But as far as I can see, you can only buy a 10-12 inch set of lids. Not individually, and not for the 8 inch. Anolon Advanced Glass Lids 10-Inch and 12-Inch Glass Lids Twin Pack

Honest reviews on Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch

I am a big All-Clad snob. I bought this set for one reason only, to flip eggs using the 8" pan. I started to use the 10" to cook things like sauteed vegetables. Then I discovered how great the pan works for fried potatoes. Maybe I'm not such an All-Clad snob after all, I love my Anolon nonstick pans, they now get used as much as my All-Clad stainless pans. The Anolon pans are still going strong after 2+ years of use.

By the way, the eggs flip easily using the 8" pan.

I bought these to replace aging tfal pans. No comparison they seem well made heavy duty pan for all cooking types. manufacture recommends no use of spray on oils. I think If I follow their instructions for use the pans will be around for a long time. I just need to keep them out of the hands of my twenty year old.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program They cook evenly. Pretty sturdily made with with rivets and they are lightweight without being flimsy. Easy to clean. Bottom of pans did not distort when heated. The padded handles for the lids and the pots are a sort of rubber or silicone which make for easy gripping and are cool to the touch (especially for the lids unlike metal handles). The colors are fun. The color is a an orange gradient that mutes the brightness of the orange color.

Why not a five star rating? I would like to see the layer of non-stick material to be thicker for more durability, but note that the pots and pans do come with a lifetime guarantee.

Good value for the money.

Also, note that these pots are not recommended for glass top stoves (per manual) as the ceramic bottom of the cookware could melt to the glass top.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program An attractive cookware set that covers the basics. The well-made pans offer a good cooking foundation, but are a little too lightweight.

I've been cooking elaborately for years and have used a wide variety of kitchen gear. Like most seasoned cooks, I have my favorite pans and pan-types, and habits in how I use them. I was pleased to see several of my "usual" sizes included in this set, including the 3qt saute pan, the 6qt dutch-oven style stockpot, and the 10" skillet. The 2qt saucepan is adequate, though I usually prefer a 2.5qt. The sides of the saute pan are high enough to stir a thick pasta sauce, the stockpot has a wide enough base to allow meat to brown.

The one omission is a heavy-bottomed 12" skillet, something I use regularly for frying and searing.

Less useful is the 1qt saucepan-there's not much I'd make in a 1qt that wouldn't be fine in the 2qt, and the 8.5" skillet is too small to be useful-it's fine if you want to fry an egg, or saute garlic (or a single shallot) separately, but I prefer to do that in the larger pan with the rest of the ingredients, the better to meld the flavors (and to have fewer dishes to wash). Most things that you would sear, toast, or saute will benefit from being in contact with the pan's cooking surface, making a small surface area less useful. But four (out of 6) useful pans is a much better ratio than most sets.

Caveats: Unlike my Calphalon pans, the handles on these are only rated oven-safe to 350F (rather than a more useful 450-500F ceiling). After 3 months use on a glass-top electric range, the 10" skillet (the piece I've been using most) has dark mars on the bottom (bad if you hang/display your pans).

The largest caveat is that these pans are entry-level thin. They do heat up quickly, but the thinness makes them bad for cooking dishes where the pan temperature needs to stay low-but-even, or where you're going to be adding cold items to the hot pan (eg, searing-these are far too thin to retain heat when you plop down a New York Strip).

For the beginner cook who doesn't have their own preferences or existing collection, this is a nice set to get them started, and it look nice too-a good choice for a gift. This 10-piece set is a bit expensive (versus other entry-level sets) and has a couple of "filler" pieces, but is a well-rounded package. Recommended with caveats.

UPDATE NOV 2012: These pans continue to hold up surprisingly well after a year of solid usage, and I've grown increasingly fond of them, so increasing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. The outer surfaces have gotten discolored/stained from such regular usage but the interiors remain flawless, and I find I reach for these pans more often than some of my heavier old-school pans.

Best Deals for Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick Cookware Set, 10-Piece

I have had this set for almost a year. We use them every day. They look beautiful hanging in my kitchen and they just make cooking a little more fun. They have held up perfectly. I have a glass top stove so I was a little concerned when I read in the manual that they arent ideal for that type of stove, but I have never had an issue.

They are light in weight, but not in durability. They clean up easily and beautifully. I have used an SOS pad on the outside and it doesnt scratch. I have also found them in the dishwasher when my children have to clean the kitchen and they have remained scratch free. They actually look almost as good as the day I bought them! I am now ordering sets for my friends for Christmas!

Honest reviews on Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick Cookware Set, 10-Piece

I used some points from my credit card company to purchase this cookware set but wasn't completely sold on the orange color. A year later I am so glad that I didn't let the color keep me from getting this set. The one downside is that they are not dishwasher safe. On the other hand the nonstick works so well that it is effortless to wash these by hand. I have made sure to use utensils that won't scrach the coating, but these work great for everyday use. In the very distant future if I have to replace this set, I will definately buy again.

I received this set in green for Christmas this past year from my husband. I have some other RR products and I really liked them so he thought he was picking a good gift for me, however he didn't know they would leak! The pans leak where they are riveted together at the handle. Every time I make something in them it leaks out. It also happens when I wash them. (I know you can put them in the dishwasher, but I never put pots and pans in the dishwasher!)I was really disappointed in the quality of the item. I would have returned them, but before I used them I through the box and all the invoices away. I guess I learned to keep all receipts!

The canisters are beautiful to look at. The painting and designs go with my kitchen great. But they aren't at all practical. First off the lids are hollow in the shape of the lid design so when you wash them, water stays up under the lips and crevices. It takes a long time to make sure they are good and dry.

The seals are the worst problem. I put sugar in one and it is so clumped up that I have to break apart chunks to use it. It doesn't look appealing either. I have to put rice and bread in the canister just to combat that and it still doesn't work as well as I would wish.

The smallest canister seems to have to best lid seal of them all. I can actually hear the air his out when I push the lid on it. So my coffee stays reasonably fresh.

I would NOT recommend these for food storage because of the seals. If they fixed that, I would say this was a five star product. BUT since I got them to store flour, sugar and coffee...and they can't even do that... I would say they are not what I hoped. If you want these for decoration only or non food items, then you will be happy with them.

These canisters are beautiful and different. They are hand painted and have vivid colors. I have had a stainless set for years. I have decided to try something with color and easy to clean. I have updated my kitchen and these will look great on my granite counters. I got them alot cheaper than they are being sold now. Amazon does offer the best price.

Best Deals for Certified International Wine Cellar 4-Piece Canister Set

Bought this set for my wife for a present. She is redecorating the kitchen in a wine theme. While the canisters look nice, storing anything in them isn't practical. We put sugar in one of them and not even 2 days later it was already sticking together and clumpy. We live in a pretty dry climate, so I'd hate to see how bad this gets in a wet climate. If you're buying just for the looks, they are nice... But they don't seal well at all.

I love these pans! I saw the StoneDine infomercials and wanted to replace my aging teflon set. But I didn't want to pay over a hundred bucks for an 11-inch frying pan. Last November, I found the 12-inch Marble Ware frying pan on Amazon for just under $39. The pan amazed me. It can handle high heat, doesn't stain, and cleans up ridiculously easy. At less than half the price of the StoneDine equivalent, this was a no-brainer!

I did read one bad review about the chemical DEHP being in the non-stick coating, but I have not been able to verify the claims made by the reviewer, including the fact that she said there was a warning label on the pan stating that the nonstick coating contains DEHP and to "use at your own risk." Trust me, I really tried. The reason I'm replacing my teflon is that they leech highly toxic gases when more than medium heat is applied to them. The EPA has a scheduled ban on teflon in cookware to begin in 2015, unless the industry can figure out a way to keep it from breaking down under heat. Ceramic coated cookware appears to be the post-teflon future.

Because of my experience with the 11-incher, I purchased the 8-inch omelette pan and the 13-inch wok. They appear to have a slightly different finish and design, but they are essentially identical in performance. My 11-incher has the trademark "Joy Cook" on the bottom and a completely black handle. The other pans have "KW" on the bottom and a chrome insert on the handle. Although I purchased them all through Amazon, my 11-incher (Joy Cook)was from M.V. Trading Company, and all the others(KW)were from SmartDeals411.

I'm not a professional cook. I'm just a single guy that wants stuff that works well and is easily maintained. Unlike most ceramic coated cookware, these are completely coated, inside and out, making clean up easier than any other pan I have ever used.

Works better then an OrGreenic, Yoshi, and any Teflon Pan., Ceramic Marble is just that and works 10 times better then the before mentioned. Great heat dispersion also. This is just my opinion and I'm writing this because in order to leave a review I must have a certain amount of words in my review. Really!!! AYFKM. Jusy Saying.

Honest reviews on Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 20

I have owned several non-stick skillets and frying pans previously, but none of them came close to the quality of this ceramic marble coated non-stick cast aluminium pan. After using it for a couple of weeks I returned to Amazon.com and bought the pot version of the pan made by the same Korean manufacturer. I have seen the "As Seen on the TV" ceramic skillets but they are not made with the same layers of materials that make this skillet tough, truly non-stick, and a breeze to clean. Also, I prefer to buy from Amazon.com because you know exactly how much the item costs, including shipping charge, and the purchase is protected by Amazon.com, should something go wrong. I recommend this skillet for anyone looking for a true non-stick, tough, and easy to clean cookware.

Pack Of 10 Microwave Splatter Shields/Plate Covers 10' - Vented - Assorted Colors
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Everyone needs one, right? I've used paper towels and potholders but wanted something made for the job that wouldn't fall off when the turntable rotates, and paper towels never conform to the bowl or plate anyway.

This does the trick. No more splatters all over the hard to reach places in the microwave. So if that's what you need, it's a timesaver.

One unforeseen drawback: food or liquids bubbling and condensation will spread some liquids across the top of the splatter cover and will redistribute across the inside top of the cover -so if you have it covering a bowl or smaller plate, expect gravity to drop it down on top of the turntable (outside the bowl) for you to wipe up. But the mess is localized on the turntable and easier to clean so I think it's worth it. I expect this would be the same for any splatter cover so this drawback is not specific to this product.

I bought 10. I plan to gift all but 2 of them. What a practical gift!

Omega C-20C Professional Citrus Juicer, Chrome Reviews

Omega C-20C Professional Citrus Juicer, Chrome
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I juice about 30 pounds of oranges per day, and this machine is perfect for me. The cheap ones won't do with that sort of volume and I can't justify the cost of buying a $2,000 dollar industrial one. If you can afford this juicer I would get it cause I think its the best citrus juicer on the market for home and restaurant use. Someone with a small business or just wants the best with their appliances will love it. It cuts the amount of time of juicing oranges in 1/2. It takes less that one minute to clean. It is heavy, so keep in mind that it will have to get left out on your counter.

There is one drawback that a potential buyer should know about these high power machines. That is, it can be SCARY to operate cause the cone spins so quickly. Especially if you are juicing tangerines which can slip out of your hand and scare you if your hand touches the cone. You won't bleed or anything but it is a shock. However, I found a workaround to solve this problem. When I am juicing tangerines, I wear thick rubber dishwashing gloves to protect my hands. It makes me feel safer to use more pressure and juice really quickly. Another way to juice quickly is to lay the oranges face down after you cut them. This makes it easy to quickly grab the oranges for juicing so you can grab one with your left hand while you are juicing with your right hand and vis versa. hope these tips I learned can help someone else. I would just get it if you are on the fence like I was, cause its such beautiful high quality machine.

Wow! This machine is so powerful it's almost scary!

I purchased this after my breville citrus juicer broke after only 5 months of use. I chose Omega because I own several of their juicers. They have AMAZING customer service and they have long warranties. Something breaks? No problem!

I purchased this one for use in my home. I juice a lot of citrus and thought that a commercial one would be able to handle the task. This machine is quiet, smooth and FAST. It is so powerful that there is a learning period in using it. When I first used it I wasn't sure about how strong it was and it ripped the orange right out of my hand and I thought for sure I was going to lose a finger. Now that I have used it a few times, I know exactly how firm to hold and how long to hold. It is a serious juicer!

It comes with 3 different size augers so you can juice everything from small limes to large grapefruit. The augers are a hard plastic which I was disappointed in. I would've preferred ceramic but they seem to be very effective and I know if I have problems, Omega will replace them. Everything else is made of surgical steel and is easy to clean.

Even though it might be overkill for home use, I do not regret spending the extra for this beast of a machine. :o)

Best Deals for Omega C-20C Professional Citrus Juicer, Chrome

I recently had the opportunity to test drive the Lamborghini of citrus juicers and fell in love. It is so simple, one button to turn it on and off and no fancy gimmicks to complicate matters. It knocked out the oranges faster than I could cut them and left nothing behind. I have recently tested the Krups, Cuisinart, Breville and the Omega C10 and it is unfair comparing the Omega c20 to any of them. It's in a class all by itself but try it once you'll see why the others are just toys in comparison. It boasts 1800 RPMS and that is no joke. If you don't have a good grip your fruit is going to take flight. You can touch the cone while spinning and not suffer injury but it is a little unsettling the first time it happens. The best way I can describe the process is the machine controls the fruit, not the other way around. In all of the other juicers I tried, I had to apply pressure and could hear the motor waning as I did. One sent off a few sparks!! The C20 seems to say "Bring it on...NEXT"

It's size it imposing, it's not a little kitchen appliance. Consider it a commercial juicer available for the home and plan your space accordingly.

If you need or want a workhorse, the Omega c20 is the one to get.

I noticed Amazon had used one through their Warehouse Deals that could save you almost half the original cost making it even better. I highly recommend Omega in general and the c20 specifically for citrus juicing.

What a great juicer! Makes short work of any citrus juicing task. Using it in a bar, it helps that it looks great on the back bar as well.

Very pleased with this purchase!

I own a juice bar and use this to juice over 100 oranges a day. It's fast and gets all the juice. You do have to be careful of not letting the orange slip from your hand, because one scrape against the center plastic and you'll be more careful the next time. The pulp does collect quickly, but I put mine in a metal mesh strainer over a bowl and let the rest of the juice seep through. There's about a cup of juice the most people would just discard. Very heavy machine so may be hard for someone older or with arthritis. The plus side of that is that it remains stable on the juicing surface. It's a high quality juicer of commercial grade. Solid and stain resistance. Best orange juicer I've owned to date.

I have bought many of these. The mixer is wonderful for salad dressing and eggs and any light duty mixing.

I give these as gifts and everyone always says how much they love them.

It comes with a great little salad dressing book. Cruet is marked for no fuss measuring.

After 5 or so years of using this for scrampled eggs and other things the plastic propellers broke. If I could have found a replacement part, it would have lasted for another five years.

Well worth it.

Several years ago I purchased this product and loved it. Upon a recent move I could not locate the mixer part and ordered another one. I liked it so much that I purchased one for my sister as well. I was very disappointed when I used my new one and it was not at all the same as the original one I had. They changed the way it turns on it use to have a button that you pressed at the very top now you have to apply pressure and push the entire handle down on the dressing bottle. This doesn't allow you to use this product on any other container except the one it comes with. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the stem doesn't reach the bottom of the salad dressing bottle so it can't stir up the seasonings that fall below it. The old one was longer! I called BonJour and was told that, yes, they did re-design the product. Needless to say this is now a useless product and returned them. Bonjour, contact me if you go back to the original design and I will buy them again. What made you change it in the first place????

I researched this little mixer on the WWW and a number of folks loved it but didn't like the seal of the plug on the decanter. It doesn't feel like it is secure when you put it on. I mixed up a batch of balsamic vinegarette in it and put it in the fridge. Later I knocked it off the top shelf while reaching for something else. Caught the darn thing as it was falling, upside down, and the lid stayed on, didn't spill a drop. Later my friend couldn't believe the story, so she turned the container upside down (over the sink, thankfully!) and the plug stayed firm, again. I love this little mixer. Great for salad dressings, and great for beating up eggs for omelets!

Honest reviews on BonJour Salad Chef Salad Dressing Maker with Automatic Battery

It's a real bummer when a product maker changes it, just to change it, and makes a wonderful gadget a bit more annoying to use. The previous model of this salad mixer had two key improvements:

1) The mixer portion could detach. This made it much much easier to clean since you could just pop off the mixer portion to clean.

2) Activating it used to be on the top, this made it easy to turn on then whip the contents around. Now you have to push down with a pretty hefty force which makes it awkward to rotate around the inside to get a good mix.

I consider these fairly large steps backwards (It probably made it cheaper to manufacture?), so while I thought the prior model was a 5-star, the current model is just a 2-star.

The mixer does not reach far enough down to mix a small amount and is not strong enough to blend anything thicker than a very watery mixture. One reviewer stated that the mixer doesn't detach but mine does, the mixer shaft comes right out of the motor housing if I pull it. It's nice looking and easy to add ingredients because the top of the cruet is plenty wide so it does have that going for it. The printed recipes, both in the booklet and on the cruet, are microscopic so unless you have nice young sharp vision you'll have a very difficult time reading them. I scanned some of the recipes from the booklet and then enlarged and printed them but there's no help for trying to read the ones printed on the cruet. I was excited about this item when I first opened up the box and saw it but after using it half a dozen times I have to say it's not all that great.

I purchased this because it's the only stoneware that is okay with direct heat. I'm using them in my toaster-oven and they work great. They are shallow enough so there is plenty of room between the dish and the burner. Also, since it's fired at such a high heat they are very easy to clean, nothing needs to be scrubbed very hard. Worth the extra money!

I just received this Le Creuset dish. It came packed in two boxes with plenty of cushioning, with perfect glazing in a bright beautiful flame orange on the outside, and deep beige on the inside. Its perfect for serving stuffing in, or other vegetables, bottom line is, the color is so gorgeous with Fall leaves spread around under it. It is absolutely beautiful! I've also had my eye on the large covered red oval stoneware baker, which I won't hesitate to buy now. Surprised at how much I really like this. Thanks.

Great piece that holds true to the Le Creuset tradition of high quality products. I purchased this particular piece to bake and serve a scrumptious recipe of scalloped potatoes as part of my holiday dinner. Not only did the dish allow for even cooking and wonderful browning of the food, it also looked beautiful along with my china and other white serving pieces. Highly recommended for serving a larger recipe size in style and function.

I had only been using this dish for a couple of weeks before it cracked. I had followed their "care and use" guidelines. I was only using a 350F oven. No stove top. No broiler. Amazon was great, the sent me a replacement which I received in only a couple of days. However the replacement also cracked in only its second use. Again a 350F oven. I e-mailed and spoke to Le Creuset customer service who suggested not to use a preheated oven. All the cook books I've read always say use a pre-heated oven.

I use and like all the Le Creuset dutch ovens, but the stone ware is definitely not a quality product.

Sending it back to LeCreuset for replacement, lets see what happens.

I own this pan in the 8" and just love it. I was looking for a good quality egg pan and this is it! I use it everyday. All the teflon on my other pans eventually peeled up and I was afraid we were eating the product! I tried other types of pan, but my eggs always stuck. I went down to the outlet and found this pan. Yes, it was pricey but if I never have to buy another egg pan...I'm happy. The very first time I used it for my eggs, they did seem to stick a bit and I started to get discouraged...don't. The pan will season itself with each cooking. By just the third time of egg cooking... no sticking what so ever! The pan has a nice beefy weight feel to it without being heavy and looks beautiful. I could not be without this pan anymore. Le Creuset continues to make high quality products and you will not be disappointed with their non stick pans.

Update: I did purchase the 12" too. Needed more room for cooking eggs for more than one person. Just as perfect as the 8" no sticking what so ever even with the first use on this pan. Definitely my favorite pans. You will not be disappointed if your looking for a superior non stick.

We just purchased this pan because we liked the idea that the exterior is non-stick as well as the interior. We have used their enameled cookware in the past and found it very difficult to keep the enamel clean. This one may not be as pretty but it sure should be a year from now. In addition, the pan comes with a 10 year warranty for the cook surface. It also has an extra thick flat bottom which is great for our flat range top.

2009 was the year we bought a bunch of new cookware, including two different brands of hard anodized pan. One was a store brand, and has begun to show its wear and tear. The Le Creuset pan is in the same condition as when we bought it, cleans up easier, and is a pleasure to cook with, as with all Le Creuset cookware it is simply above average in quality and well worth the price.

I can't believe this pan only cost me $40. After spending the last two years complaining about my All Clad pans loosing their non-stick quality, I couldn't take it anymore.

I found this pan on Amazon and ordered it. It came yesterday and I just used it for the first time this morning. I cooked two eggs in the pan and couldn't believe it. Not only did they NOT stick, they almost flew out of the pan when I picked it up and made a swirling motion. I flipped the eggs like a pancake!!

I own a few Le Creuset pots and have been very pleased. This is my first hard anodized pan from them. I have owned a full set of All Clad LTD for many years. As soon as I finish this review I will be ordering a 12" pan.

Do yourself a favor and order this pan!!

incredibly fast and even searing/cooking of thick cuts of meat and chopped vegetables. i'm extremely pleased with my decision to purchase this saute pan as i spent hours and hours reading cookware reviews shared by others. this pan outperforms my all-clad, calphalon and copper pans in the saute arena AND the sitram profiserie collection is nsf certified, tested to 1112 degrees farenheit, 18/10 stainless steel, suitable for all heat sources (including induction cook tops) and safe for ovens and freezers. with a matte finish and rounded, stay cool stainless steel, hand-welded handles and limited lifetime warranty, it's well worth the money. while my order did not include a lid, a matching sitram lid or a universal, no name lid is available.

Sitram makes excellent cookware in France at an equal or lower cost than other companies that make inferior products in China. When I was cooking at one of LA's top restaurants we used all Sitram, apart from some cast-iron stuff.

A warning about this product description, though--it's not actually 7.9". If you are confused, go here: Sitram Profiserie 4.9-Quart Commercial Stainless Steel Saute Pan and select the 3.3 QT option. This pan is 9.5" across. The 7.9 is really too small, unless you are heating up single portions. The 11.9" (4.9 QT) is also very good, but sometimes can be too large depending on how much you're cooking. But just buy them all--they're cheap!

This is a great price for a very useful pan. The 4.9 Qt at $72 is an even better deal. Handle is long enough for good leverage, stays cool, has comfortable grip. Good even heat distribution, easy to clean. I have owned or gifted five of these. Highly reccomended!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I received this set just in time to use it for Thanksgiving, and I'm glad I ordered it. It's a fantastic set.

The pots themselves are very well made. They are solid and just feel like quality. The non-stick surface is great...more on this in a minute. On heat the pans get hot very fast, although being aluminum-based they won't hold heat as well as, say, cast iron.

You get two skillets, two saucepans, a dutch oven, and a griddle. All but the small skillet have lids. Also included is a non-stick cookie sheet and a spatula. The lids are made of glass, ostensibly so you can look at your covered food as it is cooking. In practice the lids tend to fog over with condensed moisture, so their utility here is limited.

The non-stick surface is not a typical teflon coating. It is textured to further minimize the potential for sticking. This is good and bad. For instance, doing up eggs of any kind on the skillet is a dream. No sticking, eggs cook quickly, etc. However, I wouldn't recommend this pan for things like steak, since you must get the pan rocket-hot in order to get a good sear and crust on the meat. Non-stick surfaces won't hold up to that kind of heat, so you won't get the kind of crust you want. However, for less-aggressive cooking methods, even hamburgets, these pans work fine.

Also, be sure to take care of the non-stick surface as it can scratch easily. Avoid using metal utensils. I use softish plastic utensils when I cook with non-stick. In this set a spatula is helpfully included which gives you an idea of the kind of plastic you're looking for. And even though non-stick coatings can tend to wear away after use, the coating on these pans seems very well made and will last for quite some time.

A very good set from a very good brand. I recommend them highly.

UPDATE 29 Aug 2013

We've been using this set regularly for the past nine months and it's still performing perfectly. The non-stick coating is still there on all the pans, has not even started flaking or peeling, and doesn't even have any scratches thanks to being careful not to use metal utensils.

In practice we very rarely use the lids, but to be fair we don't usually use lids anyway, except for oven cooking (and we don't use these pans in the oven) so it isn't because of any kind of design flaw.

Very happy with this set and I think we'll get plenty of use out of them.

I bought these as a gift for my husband, and I am so glad I did! We wanted something nonstick, and these pans have hit that mark beyond my expectations! Even when making pancakes on the griddle pan, we've never needed to use cooking spray or butter, and the pancakes slide right off the pan! The baking sheet is just as awesome, no cooking spray and the cookies do not stick at all! The best part is, these pans just rinse clean with no scrubbing! I'll be ordering a Farberware muffin pan next!

Best Deals for Farberware High Performance Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is an awesome basic cooking set. The pieces are lightweight, non-stick, and easy to wash (should you decide to use a little elbow grease instead of taking it the easy way out i.e. your dishwasher). It has all the essential pots and pans and even includes a griddle that I'm excited to use for future breakfasts.

The only downfall, I would say, is that the pieces are relatively small in size/volume. Good perhaps for making a dinner for two but no more. Good for sauce making, ramen, frying up some eggs, cooking small things, etc. Bad for dinner parties. Perfect for your kid going off to college. (Assuming that s/he cooks and won't just eat out of the dining hall all day, everyday.) Bad for Thanksgiving (except for cranberry saucethe 1 qrt saucepan would be just right).

A few days after this set came, a friend visited. So I took that opportunity to test out a few of the pots and pans. The 3 qrt saucepan, dutch oven, and 10 in skillet all heated up nice and quick. They were easy to hold and lightweight (which felt better to my wrists when compared to iron skillets which weigh a ton). The nonvented glass lids fit well. The spatula worked just fine, though I usually prefer less flexible ones.

I wish I had read a little more about this set before I got it for my Wife for Christmas. The skillets are just too damn small to use for anything other than a small portion of anything. Going to have to get at least one larger skillet for her.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really like this 12-Piece Cookware Set. My food cooks evenly and I love the fact that it's non-stick but the design makes it so that the food doesn't slide around. I really like the square griddle. It's perfect for making grilled cheese sandwiches.

Cleaning is very easy and the fact that it's dishwasher safe makes it very helpful. They fit in my dishwasher just fine too.

Although these pots and pans aren't too lightweight they're not ridiculously heavy either like some others out there. In my opinion they are the perfect weight and size. I have the black set and it looks great. I would highly recommend this set. It has just the right amount of pots and pans and would make a great gift for someone.
