This is a really nice wall pot rack. It looks very classy and expensive. It was packaged very well and the delivery was quick. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I have a relatively small area above my kitchen stove and this pot rack fits perfectly. The handyman was able to install it within 30 minutes so the directions are very clear. It didn't require any additional hardware; everything was included in the kit. It is currently holding 14 hanging pots. Also, I use the top of it to store items too. The only thing that I added was an extra set of pot hooks to handle more pots. (Cuisinart CRPCPH-6 Chef's Classic Cookware Universal Pot Rack Hooks, Polished Copper, Set of 6)

I bought this because I couldn't mount my hanging rack in an apartment. The mounting holes are perfectly spaced to mount to the wall studs which is nice. Very functional and looks good too.

Honest reviews on Old Dutch Wall Pot Rack

As pictured, just a little room for the smaller lids on top. The hooks are very deep, so those pots with holes lower than 1.4th of an inch are a little hard to get on and take off with one hand. I love it that it was small enough and attached to the wall. I have NO room in my kitchen and I put this over a window sil, no one thought it would work and it did. Now my friends want one, LOLOL

I bought extra hooks and those are a little nicer as they have the plastic on them at the part where you put onto the rack as not to scratch the rack. They also are a little wider to accomodate those weird hole pots(the older ones).

Love the pot rack but it would not fit on our wall so we were going to return it. The rack is huge and we loved the color but were sad we could not keep it. We bought it from HPP Enterprise but they were going to charge us a 15% restocking fee and we had to pay return shipping so we decided to sell it on eBay instead. DO NOT BUY from HPP ENTERPRISES they were very unprofessional and difficult to contact since their customer service hours were only 10am to 4pm EST. They also said it would take up to 2 weeks to process the return. Love the pot rack just not HPP Enterprises.

This pan was bought to replace another Farberware pan that had met the end of it's useful life.

It worked out perfectly. The size and depth are as advertised. Good product. I would re-purchase ad recommend.

I had high hopes for this skillet: deep, with a clear glass lid, and nonstick. Unfortunately, the bottom warped when I had it on low heat on my glass cooktop stove. This meant it was no longer in contact with part of the burner. It's going back. I have a great Farberware 12" nonstick skillet (with no lid) that is shallower and heavier; it is the "Classic Stainless Steel" but the nonstick coating was wearing off. I can't find the pan anymore although it's not that old.

After 3 years of search I found the perfect pan. The non-stick surface means no oil. I made a hashbrown, eggs & cheese dish and it wiped right out. The depth is perfect for one-pan meals.

I had a Swiss Gold coffee filter a few years ago, and I used it several times w/ regular grind coffee. I always had grounds/sludge in the bottom of the pot.

I gave away the Swiss Gold and went back to paper filters, but I'm trying to economize and "go green," so I thought I would try one of these again and just learn to live with the grounds in the pot, or maybe strain them out with a tea strainer when I poured from the carafe or something.

So, I ordered this Frieling Gold Coffee Filter last week, and the holes in it are smaller than on the Swiss Gold. Guess what: NO GROUNDS IN THE POT! NO SLUDGE!

If you use a fine grind, I would guess you MIGHT have some grounds get through, but with a regular, commercial grind, no problems. In the morning, I just want my coffee quick, and I either use commercially prepared regular grind coffee or grind my own on medium.

I have a Krups coffee / espresso "combo" machine.

Paper filters, #4 in this case, do one thing well for drip and pour-over coffee brewing methods: They keep the grounds separate from the brewed coffee very well. The downside is that the absorbency and density of the paper also filters out coffee oils and collagens that deliver prime flavors. A reduced amount of the true coffee bean flavor survives the filtering process.

How much is lost? I do notice it, but I have no verifiable data to support my reduced flavor claim other than my taste buds. Not only that, but everyone's tastes are different. Some people like the thinner, more delicate flavors produced by paper filters. Others say that an undesirable paper taste is detectable when using paper filters. To make things more complex, some brands of paper filter are much better at eliminating paper taste, or even almost entirely eliminating paper tastes. Moreover, it must be admitted that the ingestion of a small amount of paper fibers will not kill you. Nothing seems to be simple in life, does it? Unless things are unexamined.

For many coffee lovers, that loss of flavor caused by paper filters is unacceptable. A good solution is a metal mesh, or Screen Filter. Some are even electroplated gold such as the Frieling model under discussion, in order to prevent rust and off flavors from contaminating coffee flavor (a stainless steel model might be much more expensive to make). Such a device must have an extremely fine screen to reduce the amount of fine particles ("fines") from passing through the screen and into the cup. Avoiding the point of near solidity, regardless of mesh fineness, some ultra fine coffee grind particulates, "fines," inevitably and invariably WILL pass through any wire mesh screen. Setting your grinder to medium grind helps to reduce the amount of fines passing through the filter, but not 100%.

There is a trade off similar to what occurs when brewing French press with its metal mesh filter screen on the plunger assembly: If the screen is too fine it can be difficult or even impossible for the coffee/water solution to pass through the filter, and if too porous then the amount of "fines" passing through the filter will increase, and end up in your cup. So all you can hope for is a good balance.

I chose the the Frieling Gold Filter #4 for my Technivorm Moccamaster drip brewer, as the quality of this filter matches that of my brewer (The costly Technivorm Moccamaster, BonaVita BV, and one or two others, are the ONLY drip-brewers accredited by the Specialty Coffee Association of America to brew at the correct 195-205 degree temperature during the entire brew cycle producing the best flavor available! See the SCAA website).

The mesh of the Frieling's screen works well, balancing the variables of coffee particle filtration versus flavor development. My experience is that only a few fines make it through to become silt in the cup, and they do ALWAYS appear, as I finely grind my freshly roasted coffee beans for drip-brewing with the excellent Baratza Virtuoso burr grinder (The less expensive Encore model is also excellent for drip or pour-over brewing). The flavor allowed is remarkably good. A bit of silt at the bottom of your cup is the price you pay, as in French press brewing, for a remarkable increase in flavor intensity. Never take that last sip, grit haters, or grind on medium.

Summary: A metal mesh filter is very green compared to the destruction of the number of trees needed to produce the amount of paper coffee filters one would consume over a lifetime, times the number of people using them. As a conscionable alternative, and on its own merits, The Frieling Gold Filter #4 is highly recommended, not perfect, but as good as it gets based on my incomplete experience. It is very, very good at achieving excellent results in a game where it is almost impossible to win, not 100% anyway...just as in French press brewing. This is the best filter of its type I have used, as my first one was a cheap off-brand. The product is top rack dishwasher-safe...a big plus.

I have NOT tested the one or two other competing respectable brands of metal mesh filter so this review is flawed in that respect. A controlled, empirical test of such filters would establish which filter brand is better, and would do so better than this comparatively subjective review. Here is hoping that someone actually does so. Until then, for me, one can pay less for such a filter, yet the Frieling name and its performance are just superb. In my estimation, you will not go wrong with this Frieling Gold Filter #4.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you have questions, please reply in the Comment section below...I would be glad to help.

I ordered this to pair with a Bonavita BV1800 8-Cup Coffee Maker with Glass Carafe, Brushed Aluminum after I got tired of messing with paper filters' cost and waste.

The filter fits perfectly in the Bonavita (and presumably other #4 filter holders), and seems to be reasonably sturdy. I alternate washing it by hand and dishwashing (top rack), and it looks as good after three months as it did when new.

As for the grind, I use freshly ground beans, ground on a medium fine setting with a Jura-Capresso 560 Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, Brushed Silver, 8.5-Ounce grinder.

I have not had issues with sludge or coffee that is weak: it has been well brewed every time, perhaps a bit on the strong side. You can easily tell that it's not a paper filter, too: the coffee oils are (slightly) visible in the brewed coffee. If you worry about those, then you should stick with paper.

For the price and quality of the coffee so far, I can recommend it. Cheers!

Honest reviews on Frieling Gold Coffee Filter # 4

To be fair, this is the first one I've had, so I don't know how this compares to other metal/reusable coffee filters.

About 50% of the time, Coffee drains through too fast unless you preform some sort of voodoo ritual and have the grind and water temperature at just the right size-maybe, still not sure what size that should be. Even with a perfect paper filteresque drain, You get a fair amount of sludge in the bottom of the pot.

HOWEVER, its worth it to know we'll never have to worry about running out of or buying filters again, and it makes perfectly drinkable coffee. Though I've got into the British habit of leaving the last 1/4" of liquid at the bottom to avoid the sludge.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Frieling Gold Coffee Filter # 4

I use my Frieling Gold filter every day and am VERY happy with it. The mesh is very fine much finer than the mesh I had with my old Braun machine. A very fine mesh makes for less sediment while still allowing some of the coffee oils to pass through. So if you are wondering if you should pay $20 instead of $5 for your gold filter my answer is a definite YES.

That said, it is not a paper filter. Some oils will come through to your coffee if you like a bit of oil/flavor/bitterness in your coffee that is a good thing. If not, you should stick with paper filters. Also, even with the Frieling there will be some fine dust/sediment in the bottom of your mug. I prefer the flavor a gold filter allows to pass into the coffee so I am willing to not drink the bottom 1/4" of my cup. Again if not, you should stick with paper filters.

As All-Clad will inform you, this steamer works with 6, 8 or 12 quart stockpots. I use it with my 8-quart copper-core stockpot. (It still looks more like a Dutch Oven to me). The fit between the pot and the steamer is perfect. Nothing wiggles, jiggles or does not stay in quite right unlike so many `universal' steamers on the market. Its large size allows you to steam six artichokes, while its uniformity of heat allows cooking asparagus for two. Clean up is a snap throw it in the dishwasher or simply rinse it out by hand. The clearance between the steamer and the bottom of the pot allows for more than enough water to steam for well over an hour. The downside is that it is expensive, but isn't all All-Clad? The upside is that like the rest of the All-Clad line you will buy once and be done.

This is a superb large steamer insert. It is great for large quantities of veggies or whatever you would like to steam. There is nothing like the flavor of freshly steamed veggies! It fits perfectly in the 6, 8, and 12 quart stock pots. I have only used it in the 6 and 8 quart stock pots myself. It is made very well and is excellent quality built to last. All Clad truly is lifetime cookware, I am sure you will not be disappointed. And it is backed by a lifetime warranty, what more can you ask for? Highly recommended! A+!

Best Deals for All-Clad Stainless Professional Universal Steamer Insert

I have the 6 qt All Clad 11 inch diameter pot, and I ordered this to steam vegetables with it. The combo doesn't work well at all. I think it's because the steamer insert is so big and deep (which I wanted I steam a lot of veggies) that there is barely any room between the surface of the steam water and the bottom of the steamer insert. If I keep the water really low so that the veggies will cook faster, then I'm constantly boiling off all the water and burning the pan. And if I fill it up more so it lasts the entire steam time, it makes the process take forever. The other night it took literally 30 minutes to steam some collard greens, and I'd had it. My other tiny pot with small steamer insert could steam this up in minutes, but I couldn't fit all the leaves in there and would end up doing them in batches, so either way was a hassle.

I ended up going out to a retail store and bringing the steamer insert with me. The 8 qt All Clad pot looked much more promising, but I don't really do that much cooking besides steaming veggies and making rice and oatmeal, and it was a big investment in money. So I looked over at the 12 qt All Clad multi cooker set. I liked the idea of having two steamer inserts, this one that I already had and the one that comes with the multi cooker set, which is quite capacious itself. I thought how I could alternate the steamer baskets, as I steamed up my leafy greens in one, and then the second vegetable in the other in sequence (I make my food at night to take with me to work the next day). However, this steamer insert didn't fit in the 12 qt multi cooker pan! I guess because the multi cooker is a lower line of All Clad products than the high end 6 and 8 quart All Clad pans. I was so glad that I actually went to the store and found this out before ordering the set on line. I think it's a little misleading for the company to call this a universal steamer insert, and then make an 11 inch pan that won't fit it, but there it is. The high end 12 qt stockpot will probably fit just fine, but the store didn't have one in stock to check.

In the end, I found another brand of stainless steel cookware, and their 12 qt multi cooker was a perfect fit with this All Clad steamer insert. And I've been in steaming heaven ever since! So the lesson is to make sure that you have a deep enough pan that will actually fit this steamer, and then it works wonderfully. I haven't tried the 8 qt, but I can vouch for the fact that the 6 quart does not steam well with this, even though another reviewer said that it did.

The product desciption lacks information on dimensions.

The bottom of the steamer will nest into a pot. 10" diameter at the bottom. 10.75" diameter at the middle rim.

Top dimensions: 10.375" inner diameter, 11.125" outer diameter, 14" out to out at the handles. Height: 5.5".

Fits into our 8 quart All-Clad stock pot. Note: does not come with a lid but the All-Clad stock pot lid fits perfectly.

I would hate to complain that this steamer is too big because I should have realized what kind of product I was buying. It is big nonetheless and is absolutely perfect for restaurants and huge families when I say a huge family, I mean a family that has around four or more kids.

If you don't steam things that often or simply don't have a huge family, then consider the smaller All-Clad steamer model that fits over sauce pans a model that I find is absolutely perfect in size.

Before I bought this pan I did my research and looked at the reviews. Most people liked the pan, but some thought it was to heavy, some the handle to long and some thought it was hard to clean... I bought it anyway! And I'm so glad that I did because it's the greatest grilling pan I have ever used or ever seen!

I love this little pan! It's perfect for 2 people (9 1/2 inches square), everything turns out fantastic and looks wonderful! I'm a small lady under 100 pounds and the pan isn't to much to handle, cleans up great and as far as the long handle, its great too! I've done fresh veggie's, chicken breasts and fish, which all came out great. I think the problem with others that they just didn't wait long enough before they tried to turn something before it was ready to turn on the other side. I wipe or spray olive oil on it before I use it and use olive oil, salt and pepper before I grill an item, needs nothing else. And in a very few minutes, you have the best of an outdoor grill! After you finish and while the pan is still hot, I put hot water in it, add some dish soap and then after the meal is over, the pan is ready to clean...simple and easy! Doesn't get any better! Wonderful food! Fantastic grilling pan! And it looks cute too!

i love bodum products. especially ones that have to do with coffee. this was my first non-coffee bodum product, however.

i used my grill pan for the first time today. but after reading the reviews for this color as well as the others, i honestly did not know what to expect. here are the things that i did to make the most out of the experience.

first, i cleaned it out of the box with soapy water. then, i heated it up really hot with a little bit of olive oil. i also seasoned my steak with olive oil along with salt and pepper. it did indeed splatter like people said. it also stuck a little bit so i kept flipping the steak. when it was done the way i wanted it to (medium rare), i was done. keep in mind that i have an electric smooth stovetop and i kept it on high. the residue wasn't bad. it wasn't completely non-stick but there was little bits stuck to the pan. and finally, i waited until the pan cooled but still warm to soak it with soapy warm water. i scrubbed it a little bit with a cleaning brush and it looks just fine to me.

the steak was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. i will definitely use this pan again.

Otherwise, very good quality, color is great and enjoying it. Handle gets hot closer to the grill and the handle is very long.

Honest reviews on Bodum Chambord Enameled Cast Iron Grill Pan, Orange

There was one glowing review on Amazon when I ordered this pan. When I unboxed it I was very pleased with its look and feel. Maybe this was silly of me, but the box said it was preseasoned, so just washed it lightly with soapy water and tried to cook with it. The hamburgers immediately stuck like glue to it! Afterwards, I scrubbed it completely clean...not easy. Then I seasoned it in my oven. It looked good so I tried cooking with it again...same result. It's very difficult to scrub off the food that sticks to it. It hurt to do it but I threw it in the trash. Now I've started cooking with a new set of Tramontina stainless steel cookware. What a difference. Nothing sticks, as long as I cook at the recommended lower temperatures. Avoid the Bosum Chambord Grill Pan!

Oster Cocinando Covered Caldera Review

Oster 74206.02 Cocinando 10-Quart Covered Caldera, Orange
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I am enjoying using this caldera, I love the color and the non-stick surface! I also like the fact that the lid has a small steam release in it, so that I don't have to leave the lid at an angle to release steam. My only complaints were 1; it would be easier to use if there was a handle with a protective grabbing surface. I am constantly stirring my ingredients and saute' items in this pot before adding more, it's a pain to have to use a pot holder with this. That was no surprise, though, the item's photo clearly shows that the handles are uncovered and small. The surprise that I *did* get was the label. It took me hours to remove it! Even with oil based remover I had to treat it, then tear off a small piece, then treat it then tear off a small piece. It was a sticky/laminated mess! A simple paper label would have been much easier to remove (or a gummy-backed inside-the-pot paper with information on it). A silly complaint, in some ways, but a big time-waster to me.

The pot and lid, though, have been great and I love the color! I am going back to look for a slightly larger size now, I like to make enough food so that my husband can take the leftovers to work with him for a day or two and this isn't quite large enough for that + the family's meal.

Most recently I used them to toss olive oil and parmesan cheese over my Kale pieces that I make into chips in the oven. Several guests have asked me where I got them and I referred them to Amazon. I also received a catalog in the shipping box and there are several items that I will order from Talisman. Beechwood is a durable and ecological wood that I highly recommend.

If you are looking for good quality, affordable cookware, I highly recommend Calphalon Contemporary for the following reasons:

1. No teflon or aluminum in contact with the food

2. Lids fit perfectly. Lids on regular Calphalon and other cookware we looked at were loose fitting, wobbly.

3. Easy to clean with soap and water. Certain foods will leave some discoloration which is easily removed using "Barkeepers friend".

4. "China" is not stamped anywhere on the Contemporary. This meant a lot to us. All other cookware we looked at including the standard Calphalon had "Made in China" stamped on the bottom. We don't like anything made in China, but as most everything is, at least we don't have to be reminded of it every time we use our Calphalon Contemporary. Judging by the perfect weight, design, and quality of the Contemporary cookware, it's hard to believe it's made in China.

We have purchased our Calphalon Contemporary cookware piece by piece so as to have only the cookware we typically use with nothing wasting space in the cupboard. We currently have seven pieces in our collection not including lids. The Calphalon Contemporary cookware is well worth the added cost over the regular Calphalon cookware. Hope this review helps.

I built a calphaon contemporary set and this pan worked beautifully. I only wish they made a 1 quart model. HOWEVER, the first time I used it, it turned blue. I called the company number and they explained sometimes that happens at first and Bar Keepers Friend will fix it right up.

And it did! Now it only gets discolored occasionally and Bar Keepers Friend makes it look like the day it arrived.

Best Deals for Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Glass Lid

We bough this pot separately as we really needed two of them and only one came in the initial set we bought. We love the entire line, and this particular saucepan is great for small jobs, like heating a can of soup, cooking hot cereal, or making small sauces for a meal. The cookware is sturdy, the lids work great, and they hold up well. Very pleased.

Honest reviews on Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Glass Lid

I bought the Calphalon because I have a Gaggenau ceramic-top stove and my Revereware took FOREVER to heat on its elements. (The copper bottom wasn't flat enough, and wound up reflecting instead of absorbing the heat.) The Calphalon is almost too good--we're having to relearn how to cook on this stove, because the pan is so heat absorptive and retentive it's easy to overcook our food. We can use a much lower temperature, and take the food off the burner much sooner. I'm sure our lowered electricity bill this year will more than make up for the cost of these pans.

We have a set of Calphalon pans and just wanted another small saucepan. I found the exact same pan on Amazon for $20 less than the manufacturer's site or any store I compared. A major store was having a 20% off sale, but they had jacked the manufacturer's price up $10, so it still came out to quite a bit more than this seller's price.

The pan arrived very nicely packed well protected and was obviously new and in great condition. An excellent deal for an otherwise expensive pan!

Circulon Contempo Stainless Steel Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program These are great. Very tough. Induction compatible. Metal utensil safe (thought I wouldn't do that), and dishwasher safe. The base is very thick and I've never better cookware for heat distribution. I was worried that the handles on the lids weren't very big and that my hand would touch the metal parts. It turns out the metal bit that connects the handle to the lid doesn't get hot at all so it's no concern at all.

I have the circulon hard anodized symmetry set as well (Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set, 11-Piece) and that is great as well. I was very curious what the difference was and why this set is cheaper:

1. These have thinner side walls. It makes no difference at all. I have pots that cost more than this set with thin walls.

2. The walls go straight up and down. The other ones were fluted to help pour without spalshing. Both sets perform admirably and honestly the is no difference performance wise.

3. The long handles on these are better, I think, because they don't collect water in the dishwasher.

Both had very nice thick bases and are really amazing. If you want to save money and don't mind the looks of this set then get this. No performance is sacrificed. The other set looks nicer however (bigger handles) and I can see why it costs a little more. Both are really really good and I'd say a good value for the quality you get.

EDIT (Sept 2012)

I don't like these as much anymore since the pots with the long handles retain water in them from the dishwasher. The water gets in where the handle attaches to the pot/pan. And when you turn the pot right side up, water slowly dribbles out for a long time. It doesn't dry in there well and the handle starts conducting heat when being used.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program These pans are fantastic for boiling pasta and low to medium temperature cooking.

The non stick finish is so good that even when making macaroni the pasta will not stick to the bottom of the pan if unstirred for five minuets. That is impressive.

But, and this is a big BUT, these pans strictly prohibit cooking on high temperatures without liquids.

What does that mean?

It means that you cannot braise meats or use any of the popular ultra fast high temperature cooking methods.

The explanation is valid: no pans have a non-stick coating that can handle this sort of liquid free high temperature cooking. This is a true statement. But Calphalon Professional Series pans come close.

These Circulon pans are great, at what they do. I love the way they boil so evenly. I love the easy clean up. These are great non-stick pans. And, they look good too.

These also have loops for those who hang their pots and pans.

Over all, these are great pans. They just don't do it all. Be sure they work for your cooking methods before you buy and you will be happy.

My wife does most, okay all, of the cooking. She loves these pots and pans. They heat up quickly and evenly. Everything cooks faster than with our old set. They look nice too. Since she cooks, I clean. I think I am getting the most benefit out of them. They are super easy to clean. We haven't found anything that sticks yet. I did a lot of research, and this was the best set for the price. We are very happy.

My wife and I really like the set. We were really impressed with the non stick surface. She burned something in on of the pans and it cleaned up with little to no effort.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program As a professional chef I often get asked and often ask myself to demo a variety of cookware for my cooking programs and culinary classes. It was a joy to see this set hit the Amazon-vine program and I looked forward to opening my box of pans the moment they hit the front porch.

First let me say they were packaged quite well and the lids fit perfectly onto the handles to allow each pan to be placed on my pot rack. In the package were a 1-quart covered saucepan, 2-quart covered saucepan, 8-quart covered stockpot, 8.5-inch french skillet and a 10-inch french skillet

This set is a great set for the average kitchen and I have enjoyed using them for a variety of tasks from omelets, stir fry's, cooking pasta all utilizing metal utensils. The coating is very durable and will take up 400 degrees in the oven without flaking off or melting the handles. The lids go well with the pans and many reviews commented that the handles are too big. I'm used to storing pans and lids aside from each other but they both work well together if you want to hang them up.

I really like the exterior finish and it's very easy to clean and maintain and has stood up to the dishwasher and scrubbing by hand. As for the interior you can burn marinara sauce, scorch milk and overcook mac and cheese till it turns black and each will simply drop out of the pan and wipe clean with little effort.

I will say that high heat cooking is out if you are not adding in a liquid or some sort of fat. You will need to get a traditional pan without a non stick coating to get a good sear, unless the pans specifically state they are non stick and made to sear, such as those from Calaphalon.

As for the price you really can't do any better for a complete set such as this. You get a great set of high quality cookware that will give you loads of versatility in the kitchen. Will this cookware set do everything if you are looking for a do it all professional set, no. Will this cookware set give the average to budding professional chef the option to get creative and have fun in the kitchen, yes.

Enjoy the set of cookware, you will not be disappointed.

I was watching this on warehouse deals as I now became a Le Creuset junkie. I got rid of a lot of old pots and pans and started buying Le Creuset when I can catch a good price. This was marked down considerably so I bought it. It was suppose to be scratched but came perfect. This will be a perfect size for two of us for a small meal, small roast or stew for two. The lid fits securely and the color of Marseille looks lovely. I used other roasters by Le Creuset and they seem to all cook the food perfectly and keep it hot for a long time after the burner is turned off and clean up easily. I have all different colors and each one is lovely thus making my kitchen very colorful.

These are great for cooking. Follow the instructions, do not overheat the pan and you will be rewarded with any even heating, easy to clean pan that lasts. I use if to fry steaks, braise pork chops and make beef stew. The 1.5 quart size is just right to cook for one or two people. Be warned, this is a heavy pan, so check the weight to decide if it is for you. Also the handles can be hot, so I use silicone potholders with it. This is the third Le Creuset I have bought, others in different sizes.

This is my first Le Creuset pan. I also bought the matching 3-1/2 quart Braiser. I cook in this 1-1/2 quart Le Creuset pan for my guten-free and dairy-free food, and cook a similar non-restrictive dish in the larger Le Creuset pan for family.

When the edges of baked food gets dark and hard, and coats the lid and edges of this pan, a little soaking and a a bit of rubbing with a soft scrubbing pad gets it clean.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron 1-1/2-Quart Round Braiser

I cook often for a family of 4 adults, and this is big enough to make orozotto, Spanish rice and holds more than enough. I usually use cast iron or Le Creuset enameled cast-iron. I like that when I cook in this type of cookware, all you have to do is wait for it too cool down and stick it in the frig. Leftovers anyone? Don't want to reheat in the micro, no problem just place on the stove top! Delicious!

We loved it so much we went out and bought a Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Dutch Oven.

Pretty as it is functional. Won't go back to ordinary pots and pans.

If quality tools are important to you, this is the fry basket for you. In case you may want to know what size it really is, it's:

Diameter: 9.75" Dimensions: 19" x 9.75" wide x 4" tall.

No, you don't have to use it in an allclad pan. I'm using it in a dutch oven and it fits perfectly. It also has that hook on the handle side so you can hang it over the oil to drain. And it's STURDY.

This is 60 bucks at All Clad sites and this is a heck of a deal.

Now to enjoy some Fronch Fries.

Purchased the All-Clad after learning about another fry basket and researching fry baskets. I chose the All-Clad because it's stainless steel (vs chrome plated) and, as in all All-Clad products, it has a life-time warranty. It has a large capacity and the handle is NOT riveted to the basket, but it does seem to be securely attached. I like that the base has "feet" that elevate your contents maybe 1/4" above the bottom of the pan to keep the contents out of any residue left from multiple batches of frying. You DO need to buy a deep pan to use it in. I tried it in my Tramontina dutch oven and it's not a good fit. I broke down and got the All-Clad 6 quart deep saute pan (before the prices jumped astronomically) and it's a perfect fit. The fry basket has a hook on the bottom that allows you to hang the basket on the edge of the pan to drain very nice. As the weather gets warmer, I plan to use it outside on the grill burner for frying to keep the grease out of the kitchen. For now, we're using it to contain the chicken and vegetables when we make stock. It's so much easier than straining it out.

This thing is super. It turns the 6 qt stockpot or tall sauté pot into a deep fryer, or extracts the carcass and/or veggies out of stock liquid without having to strain off the liquid into another container.

I love to make turkey or chicken soup with the carcass after most of the meat has been eaten, but there's usually some meat sticking to the bones that needs to be hand pulled after boiling. By using this basket with my tall 6 qt sauté pan, I can just lift it up with all the bones and vegetables inside and hang it on the edge of the pan via the basket's hook to let everything drain and cool. When the ingredients are cool enough to handle I can remove the remaining meat from the bones and throw out the rest. If I'm making a soup, I can add that meat right back to the stock along with some rice or noodles and chopped parsley and it's wonderful. Of course, I may want to do other things with the stock, but the fact remains that with this basket, getting the solids out of the liquid is a piece of cake.

If you're into deep-frying, of course, the basket is perfect for that, but I use it far more often for making stock or blanching something. This basket is worth its weight in gold. Highly recommended.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

well built for the all clad 6qt deep sauté pot....

pro: good value and perfect size for deep frying in a 6 qt pot

con: the handle is not up to all clad standards its very light weight ... these Re made in china nd for $60 they can afford to put a real all clad handle on it

update

also the rim clip is too high, all clad should redesigned to 1) use a real all clad handles ,,,and 2) place the rim clip at the very bottom so that when you raise the basket out of the oil you can actually rest it on the pot without the food at its bottom still immersed into the oil...

that said its otherwise well built with stainless steel mesh and resting feet that keeps it from touching the bottom of the pot

I already own the 4-quart version of this fry basket which is now discontinued and wanted to add this 6-quart version before the same thing possibly happened to it. Although it is Made in China, other reviewers have correctly pointed out that this is a very decent quality fry basket that serves its intended purpose well.

Whereas my 4-quart basket that was purchased from a retail store came in an All-Clad box, however, this 6-quart version purchased here from Capital Cookware arrived with no such product packaging. Instead, it was delivered in a shipping box, very securely packed with newspapers, and enclosed in a thick protective bag. While I have to presume that this was done to simply facilitate shipping, it would also be nice to have been provided with the original box since this product is being purchased as new. Also, this practice does raise some suspicion about its authenticity, since I have seen it reported elsewhere that products sold without their packaging could potentially be counterfeit. A side-by-side comparison of this 6-quart basket to my 4-quart basket has convinced me that this 6-quart basket is indeed an original. Just don't expect original packaging from this seller.

I've been cooking for over thirty years and can recommend this product without reservation. If you're in the market for a non-stick pan that isn't teflon, this is the pan for you. Even heating, a nice heft without being too heavy and easy cleanup these are some of the qualities of Swiss Diamond. I own a lot of expensive cookware. This brand is rapidly becoming my favorite.

The description for this product does say that it is virtually indestructible, but it does pit and scratch. However, even after the pits and scratches, still nothing sticks while cooking or cleaning! I have used the grill most, and this pan the third most, and I still love it. I also like that its bottom fits perfectly onto my large electric burner. I do wonder of whatever is pitting is coming off and into my food, but my guess is that, yes, it is. I am also guessing that it is diamonds coming out (I wish I could find some and sell them lol). Just like little kids eat rocks all day and nothing comes of it, I am not worried about my health the way I worry about using Teflon.
