We've been using this grill spatula for years & when it became clear we needed to replace it we looked everywhere for the same kind of spatula. There ARE none! This is the only one we've found that works as well for turning over hamburgers/steaks/fish/etc on the grill w/o worries of dropping what you're turning over. I was thrilled to finally find a replacement here on the net, and bought 4 at once!

We have had a set of these for more than 10 years and grill often. The set we have is so old we have tried replacing it with other tongs several times and each time return to our old grillpro. We have looked and looked for a new grillpro with no luck. We are happy to have found them again!

This combination spatula and tongs is the greatest barbecue tool. We had one and after many years, it feel apart. I went on Amazon and found almost the exact match. It's not fancy, but it works great!

Honest reviews on GrillPro 40730 2 In 1 Chrome Plated Turner/Tong

I've wanted one of these spatula/tongs since I saw a friend using one to grill hamburgers a while back. I looked in several stores and didn't find them. I finally searched online and found them at Amazon. I bought 4 so I could give them as Christmas presents and then actually found them in a nearby specialty store. But, thanks Amazon for having such a unique item.

The turner is smaller than I expected but then I bought it to be a one tool solution to hauling multiple grilling tools for my RV. Handles will probably hold up okay, for the price it is what is to be expected.

While visiting friends in KC, I happened to try their Henckels 4-star knives and was amazed at their sharpness, balance, and comfort. I immediately decided I NEEDED to get a set of these knives.

I quickly settled on the 4-star chef's and fillet knives, but tried paring knife after paring knife without finding one that really felt right. The 4-star handle is great on the big knives (where one grips the handle with the entire hand), but didn't feel right on the paring knife; it felt like my pinky was in limbo, not meant to be on the handle, but not meant to be off it, either.

Then I tried THIS knife. The Pro-S 3" paring knife just felt *right* it fit perfectly, it had just the right heft, and it was far more agile than the longer 4" knives. I've had it for six months and it performs exactly as I expected it to; this knife is just a joy to use.

I love the thing, but you'll probably want to do exactly as I did, trying a number of high-quality knives to find the one that feels right to you.

Henckels is the best quality if you stick to their Pro series. Skip their International line. This paring knife will last forever and fits well in the hands of both me and my much larger housemate. Holds it's edge well. Good tools make the job go well!

I bought this thinking I'd be happier with it than a shorter paring knife, but I think that may have been an error. The blade itself is sharp and cuts nearly anything, but I find I use it minimally. Its too big for any high detail work, where I find myself fumbling and too small for any rougher work, where I endlessly reach for my santoku knife.

Remarkably, the only area I've found it highly effective for me is for sandwich making, where I previously used my santoku and a dinner knife. It can easily work its way through an onion or any other vegetable you'd want on the sandwich and allow for more simple tasks (like spreading condiments, cutting the sandwich, etc.) due to its nice length.

Honest reviews on Zwilling JA Henckels TWIN Pro-S Classic Parer

Buyer beware. The item you get is not the item pictured. It's not made in Germany, but rather made in China and it doesn't have the feel of a Professional S knife. Thinner, lighter, cheaper. Not a $50 knife. More like a $10 knife.

I ordered Henckels Pro S 3" paring knife item # 31020-083 received a chinese knockoff item # 31460-081. It said it was a Henckels knife, but it was made in China, have never known of a Henckels knife Made in China. Package was wrong for the product too. Make sure that what you order from this company, MFS Wholesale LLC, is what you will get. I had to ship knife back and get refund. No problem there, but this should not have happened to begin with.

Ordered this pan for my wife for Valentines day 2010, which in itself made me a little apprehensive after the birthday vacuum fiasco many years back.

Seems women don't always appreciate getting tools on special occasions. Who knew ?

Arrival: Double boxed and well protected, the wife carefully opened the containers. Enclosed was a beautiful pan wrapped in a protective plastic bag and dripping in oil. Oh-Oh, recalling a few closing reviews about leakers.

Not to worry, the instructions mention washing in hot, soapy water to remove oil residues from the manufacturing process. OK then..still, why make such a beautiful product and not take the time to clean it a bit ?

Anyway, we cleaned it and re-arranged cupboards to give it a safe place from dings. Put it away until today when we pulled it down to cook a few hamburgers.

Some of the write ups mentioned a lack of heat control accuracy as well as extended time to heat so I instrumented the new pan by inserting a digital thermometer probe through the lid vent and set a digital kitchen timer to count up.

Pan on. Temp rise was pleasingly quick about 11 minutes from room temp to 350 F. The pan kept going...and going...at 405 F ( remember, it's set to 350) oil begins leaking out of the top rim and the handles where expansion vents are located. I chicken out and turn dial to 250. Now 13 minutes since pan on temp is 425 F and still climbing. I turn the dial to off , power light stays on. Oil continues to leak. I continue to wipe.It continues to heat. Finally it begins to smoke. Temp now 441 F. Pulled the plug and used the stove to cook our burgers.

A beautiful pan ruined by poor manufacturing quality control, a real shame on them. I won't be trying anything from Precise Heat again until I've heard they got their act together.

Needless to say, this is going back. I ordered thru Amazon rather than one of the less expensive on-line stores just in case this happened, it turns out now to have been a wise choice. Amazon makes returns easy and covers the return shipping too.

An electric skillet is a much underrated kitchen helper. Many benefits to it, including that it controls the heat and you can leave it unwatched. I own this skillet in a vacation house. Now I will buy it at Amazon for much less than I paid for the first one. This skillet is the best I have ever seen or used. It is heavy, cooks well (you do have to get used to the heat levels), cleans like a dream, goes through the dishwasher perfectly.

I love the fact that it does not have any non stick teflon in it which is why I chose this product. It also cooks very even and is a nice depth to make a meal in.

The only 2 downfalls with it are it is very heavy ( I guess that is understandable since it has oil in the bottom) and it does not get hot enough to fry potatoes quickly and crisply. I just may need a little more getting used to it.

I would highly recommend it on the fact of NO TEFLON.

Honest reviews on Precise Heat 3-1/2-Quart Surgical Stainless-Steel Oil Core Skillet

Got this skillet for my husband who is the head chef in our house. He had tired of continually having to replace non-stick skillets and specifically requested a stainless steel version. After doing some research, I settled on this model ... he is delighted with it.

One strange thing, however -the pricing on this is bizarrely erratic. I bought it in the $70 range ... now I see it listed over $189! And, since I check it occasionally, have seen it in the $140 range, at $115, etc. Have no idea why there is this erratic pricing -but, if you ever see it at a good, LOW price, snatch it up. It's great!

What I was most impressed with was the overall quality of the product.. made like a tank will probably last forever. There are other issues. When you cook with my pan all your cooking oil goes over to one side.. not sure if it's the feet or the pan surface itself that's not level. I just move stuff around a bit to make sure everything gets coated with cooking oil. There's definately a peak in the middle of the pan that causes every thing to run to the sides. Once your done be very careful moving the pan .. the internal oil is still hot and the outer surface of the pan will still be very warm after several minutes of being unplugged. Cleaning this pan is not easy. The instructions say not to use steel wool products. I've been using water and baking soda and letting pan heat back up and boil this solution to loosen any food still in the pan. Then let it cool a bit before attempting to clean with a rag. Also the temperature gauge is not in the right place on my pan.. I have to just guess what temperature I'm cooking at... you'll need to work with the temperature settings to make sure you don't get things too hot. The temp light goes out when the temperature has reached the setting on the dail... not just when the pan is on.

Vollrath 67907 8-Gauge Aluminum Wear-Ever Fry Pan with TriVent Review

Vollrath 67907 8-Gauge Aluminum Wear-Ever Fry Pan with TriVent Silicone Handle, Natural Finish, 7-Inch
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I bought this little skillet to use while solo hiking. Those ultra lightweight backpacking pans are not good for much other than heating water. This Vollrath 7 inch skillet is ruggedly built yet weighs only 15 ounces. I don't force-march 40 miles a day so the extra weight is acceptable to me. I like being able to cook in a pan similar to something you would have at home only a little smaller. The skillet is thick aluminum so it heats evenly. The sloping sides make it easy to use a small lightweight spatula for turning food, be it a large burger or a small pancake.

I would have given this pan 5 stars but the silicone grip on the handle was split on both sides. I was able to repair it with some black silicone gasket maker I happened to have at home.

I really like the slightly larger than most containerand it is quieter than my old chopper.

Be careful though when you remove the blade there is a black gasket and white plastic ring that help hold the blade in place. These come off unless you pull the blade up slowly. This is a poor design. These should not come off as they will be very easy to lose--OR what happened to me: they came off in my washing the blade and went down the disposal. I managed to recover them, although damaged, and they seem (so far) to be able to hold the blade in place ok.

You also have to be careful in washing the lid as moisture gets in between the plastic layers and cannot be wiped off.

Honest reviews on KitchenAid KFC3511WH 3.5 Cup Food Chopper

I bought this processor to puree small batches of vegetables/fruit to sneak into my kids' meals. This processor was the right size/price point for the job.

Unfortunately, its performance is quite underwhelming. Once the majority of the contents is pureed, the remaining large chunks continue to spin around. It seems like the blade is not fast enough. I have experimented with processing time, combination of pulse vs. high speed, adding water, etc. No matter what I do, those chunks of apples or zucchini continue to escape the blade.

I've had this pan for quite awhile. Love, love, love it. It's GREAT for making omelets!!

Best Deals for GreenPan CW0004525 Paris Hard Anodized Crepe Pan, 11-Inch

Nice large size, heavy bottom for good heat distribution, excellent non-stick coating, good sturdy handle. My French chef heartily approved.

Honest reviews on GreenPan CW0004525 Paris Hard Anodized Crepe Pan, 11-Inch

After using it just twice, the surface discolored (blackened) and became rough to the point that I couldn't use the pan again. I contacted their support team and they said that it's probably oil stains and asked me to try cleaning the stains off with Mr. Clean. That didn't work. I told them that the stains were probably coming off of my non-stick spatula (which has a black coating), so GreenPan will not cover it (as it's due to the spatula and not the pan, according to them).

The spatula I have is a regular non-stick one--never had any issues with it when using it on other non-stick pans. Perhaps it is the fault of the spatula. However, there is no mention on their product description page about the potential risks of using non-stick spatulas with this Greenpan. So my conclusion is that this product is premature and/or has probably not been tested properly. If you need a special kind of non-stick spatula for this and cannot use regular non-stick spatulas with this pan, that's fine by me, but if that's the case they should say so on their product description page.

Their customer service is average. They are courteous in their emails, but the email service is a little slow. There was much back and forth, questionnaires to fill out, and it took about 3 weeks from the time I contacted them first for them to let me know that they cannot help me.

I should mention that I have two other GreenPans and I have no issues with those so far. I am a fan of GreenPan and will continue to use their products because they are awesome. It's just this particular model that has issues.

This combination salt and pepper grinder is a lovely, innovative design that I find to be extremely appealing. It is a completely new take on two ubiquitous kitchen implements. It seems sturdy and has a nice fit and finish. Most importantly, it works perfectly and really does solve the problem of having to track down where you left the salt and pepper. With this, they are always together!

UPDATE (May 9, 2011): My wife dropped it and the bottom cracked. We like it so much, I'm buying another.

Best Deals for Joseph Joseph Salt & Pepper Y-Grinder

The unit grinds well and satisfies requirement for a table top salt/pepper mill. I would not recommend this for stove use unless you are cooking for a small (1-2 person) meal.

The flaw is that the caps slip off so easily that you will drop the grinder into your food if you pick it up by either knob. Easy to resolve by lifting the unit below the "Y" but it can still catch me off guard if I am not thinking about it when I reach for the mill to season my food. Guests are almost always victims of the mill-bomb unless we caution them about it first.

I like the design overall. It is not too small or too large for a table. The amount of seasoning is practical for individual use vs. a stove top prep area.

Happy with it but do wish the knobs threaded on like most other salt/pepper mills.

Honest reviews on Joseph Joseph Salt & Pepper Y-Grinder

it feels a little cheap for the price i feel like i am going to break it. it only puts out a little bit of pepper since the grinder is half the size. looks great on the table and works great for individual usage. for recipes it would take to long to crack enough pepper or salt. \

I'll keep this short and sweet; this is Lodge Logic's 3-qt. chicken fryer, without the lid. (Amazon says the chicken fryer is 4" deep, but Lodge's web site confirms both are 3" deep).

So... if you already have a 10" lid, don't need another one and want this style pot, this is a good value.

It has all the great traits you expect of Lodge Logic excellent, even heat transmission, natural non-stick seasoning, and complete invulnerability to anything your burners can dish out. The size is very handy for things like chili for one or two, where the additional depth is welcome but a Dutch oven would be overkill, and the 10" skillet/chicken fryer/Dutch oven lid fits this pot. I'm very pleased with this deep skillet and already had a lid.

So... if you have a Lodge lid and/or have a 5-qt Dutch oven in the same order, go for this pan! If you want to get a lid with it, get the Lodge Logic chicken fryer; it's much cheaper than buying the deep skillet and lid separately.

This is a great pan. I have several frying pans, and am saving up for a certain style Dutch oven and double-burner griddle. Cast iron, like anything, has its pros and cons. It is heavy, making it hard to lift and carry; but it also doesn't move if you bump the handle or are using both hands to hold another vessel that you're pouring from into the pan. It comes preseasoned, eliminating that step that should be repeated several times on a non-preseasoned pan prior to use. Things DON'T stick to this pan, as is always the misconception, precisely because of the preseasoning. It imparts a small amount of iron into the food, which is good, as most people are deficient in iron. Cleanup is a bit tedious (no soap or detergent, hot water with a stiff brush, no dishwasher, dry immediately); a small amount of extra time for the care and upkeep, but time well spent in the scheme of things. If it were to rust for whatever reason (you found grandma's pan in the leaky basement; she put it in storage twenty years ago when she moved and forgot about it), it is easily scoured, seasoned, and ready to go. Rarely, except under extreme circumstances, would you ever have to replace a cast-iron pan.

I started making the switch to cast iron about six months ago. My husband cooks, I don't; he didn't want cast iron, I did. The deal that we had before the cast iron continued--he cooks, I clean. He has no complaints (other than the weight, from time to time), and that he sometimes forgets to put the insulated handle on before grabbing the handle of the pan. But that's "operator error", nothing to do with the pan itself. I switched to cast iron because of the toxicity of nonstick coatings, such as Teflon. Cast iron is better for your health, it will last generations with proper care, it does not offgas toxic fumes, and it does not flake like nonstick coatings which, it is recommended, have to be discarded.

My 11-year-old has taken a great interest in cooking and watches cooking shows a lot, namely on the Food Network. He is very aware of tools used and techniques employed, and noted that many of the chefs and cooks use cast iron, and the ease and sometimes importance of being able to leave the food in the pan but transferring the pan from the stove to the oven. Only with cast iron can you do this safely.

Self-basting lids (when lids are used) help to evenly distribute "condensation", keeping the food uniformly moist. I researched pans vs. Dutch ovens, skillets vs. frying pans, handle vs. tab, and am very happy with all my purchases. If you are thinking about purchasing cast iron, of course consider your needs, but also look carefully at product descriptions as to size of pan (diameter and depth), and try different search terms as this will sometimes yield different results. The terms 'skillet', 'frying pan', 'deep fryer', and 'chicken fryer' will give you a bigger variety of similar pans from which to choose. I would also recommend paying a little more for an American-made product (I prefer Lodge; it has a long history to look at); they are heavier (better quality, more evenly distribute the heat); and American products from a reputable company will more than likely follow governmental guidelines for safety. What you're cooking in the pan will go in your body; be cognizant about what can leach from the pan into the food.

Best Deals for Lodge L8DSK3 Pre-Seasoned Deep Skillet, 10.25-inch

EXACTLY what I wanted and needed. You can't beat Lodge cast iron for the most even and best cooking. The 4" side is between a skillet and my Dutch oven and has already become my most used cooking tool.

Honest reviews on Lodge L8DSK3 Pre-Seasoned Deep Skillet, 10.25-inch

I have used cast iron for years and love it. I decided to get this deep skillet because I have made a mess quite a few times while frying in my regular skillet and thought this would be a good idea for me. I do like having the extra depth, but wasn't quite prepared for the extra weight that this couple of inches of depth adds. It is a good thing that they added a "helper handle" opposite the regular handle, or I wouldn't be able to lift it while it is filled. I have also baked bread in this pan and it turned out beautifully. My Dutch oven lid fits this pan, but if I had known that the 3 qt. chicken fryer was the same size as this pan and included the lid, I would have purchase that item since there was only a few dollars difference in the price.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lodge L8DSK3 Pre-Seasoned Deep Skillet, 10.25-inch

I bought this pan about a year ago, and I use it every single day. It's a great for pan roasted potatoes, and sauteed vegetables and greens. Stir-fried vegetables are easy to make with this pan. So are fried rice dishes. I also use it to make large omelettes. The lid that comes with the 5 quart dutch oven fits this pan.

It's easy to clean. I've used cast iron pans for over twenty five years. I do scrub it with a little soap once in a while to remove the rancid fat odor. However, I wipe it dry, oil it, and heat it on the stove on low heat for 5 minutes or so after that. With a little maintenance, these pans will last forever and are a must in every kitchen. It's so easy to eliminate nonstick pans if you use cast iron ones.

This dutch oven was given to me as a gift. I am your typical engineer who loves the process of cooking.

The pro's of this cast iron dutch oven.

1. It is nice and heavy which means even heating and heat retention. I am very happy with how even it holds heat when I am browning meat. It does not loose a lot of heat when you put meat in it to brown.

2. Side Handles are large enough even for big hands.

3. Pre-seasoned which is nice but is no big deal. Can easily be done and I would not use that as a criteria to not buy a superior product.

4. Price was reasonable. $49 at bed bath beyond and it was $40 with coupon.

5. Lids fits well.

6. 6 quarts is a good size. I can cook a whole chicken in this thing along with all the fixens.

Now the cons.

1. Lid handle is attached with one small screw. It feels like some porcelain and the screw can loosen and the lid can spin on the handle. Makes me worry that the lid will fall off or the screw will break. If you hands are wet the handle can be slippery.

2. Made in China. This is a concern of mine because the Chinese have had so many problems with making products with hazardous materials. I am not saying it is made out of something hazardous but it is a concern when your cooking for you family. I am disappointed that Emeril seems to go overseas for all of his production.

3. Update. After two weeks the porcelain lid handle is chipping. I have personally hand washed and babied this dutch oven and am very disappointed in this. I may return it and get a LodgeLogic dutch oven. I have a gift receipt.

I have lowered my rating from 3 stars to two because of the chipped lid handle.

All in all I am happy with the product and the only real negative is the handle. If I would have bought a dutch oven myself I would have bought a lodgelogic product because the handle is cast iron and they are made in America. Cost is about the same or a little more.

I got this for Christmas so I haven't used it a ton. I will say you need to take time to season it. It says it's season, but from what I hear and have read ALL cast iron really needs to be seasoned when you get it. It's a very easy process but a bit time consuming. I just looked it up on google to see how to season it. Very simple and I've loved cooking with it. HEADS UP on ONE problem the lid knob gets very hot and you need to use a hot pad to remove it. I almost burnt my hand the first time as didn't realize that part would get so hot!

For the price, I think you'll be pleased.

Another note, many have complained about the heaviness of the pot let me just say my opinion. It's cast iron and will be heavy. However, I am not having any problem lifting it!

I needed a new pot to cook chili and this one is fantastic. The chili was the best I made yet...Family raved. Can't wait to try the stew in the pot.

I like this cast iron dutch oven. Have used it once now to cook a large chuck roast and vegetables. Turned out very good. Actually replaced my last crock pot with this dutch oven. I think I'll like it better.

The latest crockpots simply don't adjust the heat like I want any more. Now I can do the slow cooking in the oven with better results.

It's a good product. Supposed to be pre-seasoned and I used it that way. Did wipe it with a little olive oil after the first use. Like I do with my other cast iron ware after every use.

It is heavy. Would not want one much bigger and/or heavier.

I have always loved using a Dutch Oven. This was a perfect choice especially when making stews or soups. Just keep it seasoned and it works perfect.

My in-laws have one made by Tombstone, and while this one isn't as heavy as theirs, it makes the pizzas in the same time and quality. This was well worth the money.

I had been wondering about silicone baking mats for some time but just got around to trying this one. I love the blue color and this SafeDine Silicone Baking Mat did a great job when I used it to bake some cookies. Even though the batter was pretty sticky, the cookies lifted easily off of this mat without any mess. They browned nicely as well. I think I may use it for nachos next because it's so easy to clean and nachos can get pretty messy. I bet it would be good for chicken wings too. All I had to do is wipe it off after backing the cookies. Clean up was much easier than trying to clean up a baking sheet. It's very flexible so while you could use it on it's own, you'll probably want to use a baking sheet underneath it for easier handling and because the weight of the food on the mat would probably make it sag when it's hot. What I'm going to do is replace my two baking sheets with nice shiny new ones and I think, using these mats, they will stay that way. My old ones look like they've been through a war. I've had them for years and the burnt-on stuff just won't come off anymore. It will be nice to have nice clean baking sheets. And I will look like I'm much neater than I really am!

The mat is a generous size, 16-1/8 x 11-3/4 inches and it has markings around the edges with measurements in inches and centimeters (Inches on one side and centimeters on the opposite..) That could come in handy if you want to drop batter in a certain size onto the mat or if you want to measure the size of crackers or breadsticks for any reason. You can heat them up to 446 F. One side is very smooth and the other has a slight texture to it. I'll have to try the other side as well, but the smooth side works just fine for sticky cookies. The mat is BPA free and is all silicone according to the manufacturer. I did the "twist test" where you twist the silicone and see if you can see any white which would indicate fillers. This passed the test with flying colors, only baby blue when I twisted it. It has no odor either out of the package or when it's in the oven. It's somewhat translucent and a beautiful shade of blue. Now how about making these for pizza pans?

I received a review sample of this product from the manufacturer.

I love gadgets that make things easier and faster. Silicone baking mat is one of those things. I am attaching photos with the first batch of cookies I made with the silicone mat. They were browned perfectly and evenly. The clean up was absolutely easy, I just needed to run a sponge over the mat to remove the crumbs. And I did not need to use any oil to grease the baking sheet.

The mat is 16 1/8" x 11 3/4" in size, it has inch marking on two sides and centimeter marking on the other two sides to help you space out your goodies on the mat. The mat itself is very flexible, so it cannot be used without a cookie sheet. It is a liner, a replacement for the parchment paper. It fit my baking sheet very well as you see in the photos. The baking did take a little longer. Normally my oatmeal cookies take 13 minutes at 375 degrees, with the silicone mat it took 20 minutes at 375 degrees.

This mat is made out of 100% silicone, it is BPA free. It had no odor out of the package, as well as after baking. It can be used in the oven, as well as microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and freezer. It is heat resistant to 446 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius). It should not be use as a cutting surface as it is soft and can be damaged by the knife.

In addition to use it as a liner for baking, I use it on my counter top instead of a trivet. When I need to rest a hot pan on something it gives me a nice big target area.

I received this mat for evaluation and review from the manufacturer with a request for an honest review, but it positive or negative. I have found this mat easy to work with, it gave nice even results, and I plan to use it on regular basis. I recommend it to others.

Best Deals for SafeDine Silicone Baking Mat (Set of 2), Translucent Blue Nonstick

My wife and I received our baking mat a few weeks ago, and she tried it out by making some Brazilian-style cheese bread (Pão de Queijo). For comparison's sake, she baked two batches, one on the SafeDine baking mat and the other on a Silpat baking mat. Both batches turned out tasty, but she found that the batch baked on the SafeDine mat yielded better browning of the bread in less time. The SafeDine label has instructions to reduce baking times by 5 minutes, so it seems this speedier browning is likely due to better heat conduction.

The SafeDine is a bit thinner than the Silpat (perhaps explaining the differences in heat conduction), but otherwise the two mats seem pretty comparable. They both have excellent non-stick properties, are easy to clean, and are easy to store. I'm not sure about the Silpat, but the SafeDine is BPA-free, too, which might be of interest to people who have infants or toddlers around.

Next, I'm going to try using the SafeDine as a surface for kneading bread dough. I like to work with wet, sticky doughs, so it'd be great if I can use it as a non-stick surface on which to work.

Overall, I would say the SafeDine mat is a great alternative to the Silpat . . . at less than half the price. It's eligible for Prime shipping, too!

Honest reviews on SafeDine Silicone Baking Mat (Set of 2), Translucent Blue Nonstick

I've tried a couple of silicone candy molds, but never entertained the thought of using a baking mat. Naturally, unless you want to get burned, you'll want to put a solid baking sheet beneath the mat. Silicone does have a slight odor, but the SafeDine didn't have an overwhelming one to turn me off. I washed it in "warm, soapy water" as directed. I didn't make cookies, but rather made some cinnamon buns. Very often they end up much darker than I'd like when I bake them on a cookie sheet. Not this time. They turned out a nice light, golden brown and every so slightly crispy on the bottom.

PROS:

~ Made from food grade silicone, 100% BPA free

~ Easy to clean, dishwasher safe

~ Easy to store after use

~ The nonstick surface is perfect for things like dough

~ Even heat transfer when baking

~ Prevents that nasty baked on mess on baking sheets

~ Measurements along the mat edges

~ The heat resistance factor is high at 446°F (230°C)

There are several things about this mat that I like, including the fact that there are measuring guidelines along the edges. Mind you, this is not a pastry mat so you cannot roll your crust to the exact measurements, but if you're an experienced baker you can eye it. This mat would be ideal for rolling or kneading any kind of dough as it in nonstick and nonskid. When I baked the cinnamon buns I noticed that the heat transfer was excellent and done evenly. For example, the bottom of the buns were evenly browned, not dark on one side and light on the other. If you haven't tried one of these mats, you should. It makes baking and cleanup very, very easy.

I purchased these for help in crafting and cooking. Thought the price I paid was perfect for what I was supposed to be getting, 2 mats. Instead I received only one mat. Very upset about this. I have been trying every contact link I can find to get the other mat sent. I love the blue color and it fits my needs perfectly, I just need the second mat that I have already paid for to be shipped ASAP. This is the first issue of this nature I have ever had ordering from Amazon and I hope it is the last. I hope the right person reads this or one of the many other emails I have written about this and fixes it for other buyers.

Aside from that, the mat I did receive is awesome. Soft, translucent silicone. I am using it for my crafts and it is perfect for that. I need my second mat to use in my kitchen for baking then I can edit this review to reflect that.
