Bought this pan for my girlfriend for Christmas to replace an older Calphalon that was starting to chip. We use this pan almost daily and after 6 months, there are zero signs of wear. We do take care of it by not putting in dishwasher, not using metal utensils, letting the pan cool completely before washing, etc. I'm sure that metal utensils would be fine, but I don't see the point in risking it if you don't have to.

I wish these weren't so expensive, because I want a whole set now! I see this pan lasting many, many years so I'll probably get that whole set eventually, adding a new pan a year.

This is the nicest pan I've ever owned, hands down. I like to cook anyway, that's why I was moved to spend $300 on a single pan. But this pan makes me like to cook even more. It's cooks so evenly, it's like the vegetables brown themselves, perfectly, without any effort or input from me; I barely have to watch the pan. And it's big enough that I can cook a whole one-dish meal in it (which was my goal when I purchased it). I plan meals around being able to use this pan.

This pan is excellent. I have cooked several items in the pan and it does not stick. The food cooks evenly and food cleans very easily from the pan. I am sure that I will be purchasing more of this product. I love the fact that it can be used on stove top or in the oven.

I've only used this pan a few times, but I noticed the difference immediately.

Unfortunately, I'm cooking on a glass-top electric but I noticed right away

that the pan had no hot-spots. It remains to be seen how long the non-stick

surface will perform and if the pan will warp. Stay tuned, but initially, I'm

really impressed.

Update: The non-stick surface does seem to degrade over time like all the others,

which makes justifying the expense of this item a little difficult. The even heat

it terrific though...

I have had this pan for 6 months & use it nearly everyday. I chose it to get away from traditional non-stick pans & have owned the likes of calphalon, kitchen aid, le crueset brand (to name a few) non-stick pans. I treat all my non-stick pans including the Scan Pan the same: I never use metal utensils, put them in the dishwasher, or scald them. I use oil/butter to be certain not to scald the pan. If you are not willing to treat you pan this way, then non-stick is simply not the choice for you.

I love the Scan Pan--the surface is exceptional & heats evenly on the stove top or in the oven. I like it so much I could an 8 inch for eggs.

I had a KitchenAid mixer and has been using their meat grinder for over 20 years. It is common for the housing of the plastic grinder to crack and prompted me to purchase this as a replacement. It was a big disappointment.

After purchased, I had a chance to test it one month later thinking nothing wrong could happen to a grinder attachment. When tried, I found the tolerance was bad. The shaft was not centered. Since all contacts are metal to metal, any mis-alignment will create metal micro-shaving in the color of black inside the meat. Hoping this will go away after a few passages with meat strips, I found that it persisted after using up one pound of pork in vain.

Additionally, the cutter and disc do not match well. When the meat has any tough tissue, the grinder head was jammed. I had no problem like this with KitchenAid grinder at all. I had to take out the unit and clean it to resume grinding.

The feeder also had a problem to take in the meat. I have to push the meat with the short pusher with no success. Eventually, I had to use my fingers to push them down. (Do not tried this if you are not experienced with grinders.)

Knowing these main problems, as en engineer, I tried to match the old KitchenAid parts with this grinder with zero success.

Discouraged after an hour, I took out the old cracked KitchenAid grinder and finished the rest of the 30 pounds pork in 30 minutes without any issue.

Now, I know why KitchenAid made their grinder in plastic housing. I will accept the housing will crack, but it works.

I had many purchases from Amazon and remains a happy customer except this one. After 30 days, I cannot return it of my own fault. It is going to the trash as my expense of learning what works (or not) of a grinder attachment. Hope you do not have to do the same.

This is a very well made grinder, all the parts fit smoothly together, I looks like it will out last me. I have used it 8 times now and have no complaints. Make sure you spray the parts with Pam after each use to prevent rust on the steel parts. You will be very pleased with this grinder and you will save money and get a better burger when you grind your own meat. No more 80/20 mixes or worse 74/26, now my burgers are 99/1 mix, family loves the taste of fresh hamburger. I do not have any problems with metal shavings. I have seen a very small amount (tiny). I think the trick is not to tighten the parts together too tight, just snug. Spraying with Pam does help with the grinding process. Over all a great well made grinder that is worth the money it cost.

I ordered this aftermarket item because Kitchenaid is only selling plastic ones these days. and I'm glad I did. It worked great, was easy to clean, and will last forever. It went through four pounds of beef and pork with minimal effort. I had been using a food processor for my meats but this does one big batch instead of four small batches that I then had to mix together. Tip: Put metal parts in refrigerator for a few minutes and chill meat well before using -makes it work even better.

One of the best Amazon buys I've ever made.

As long a you operate this at level 4 and don't try to speed everything through its "awesome".

Also remember never to grind meat that isn't ice cold.. don't blame the machine for poorly executed effort.

I take skirt-steaks and make the best ground beef I've ever had. Take deboned chicken thighs and grind them to make chicken sausage.

This machine is well worth the investment.

No more worrying about supermarkets pumping pink slime into my ground beef...

The main reason I'm writing this is to let others know these lids will also fit the Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized 10 and 12 inch pans. On those pans, these lids are a decent fit, but obviously not made specifically for those pans. Still, they stay on, and work well, they just aren't a tight seal. They are attractive and match the pan's look well, if that matters. I wish I could find one for the 8 inch pan too.

These glass lids are good and fit quite well. Even they have metal edge, one has to be gentle handling them for the glass is bit thin. The handle is bit excessive, therefore harder to store. I use the 10 inch more often. I have two different 10 inch pans that are old. One has rounded edge at the top and measures 9 1/4 inch in diameter, the other is straight and measures 10 inches. This 10 inch glass cover fits the the 9 1/4 inch diameter pan perfectly; it falls in a bit in the other.

Only 2 weeks after the purchase of these lids, the 10-inch one shuttered into millions of microscopic pieces, while covering an Anolon Advanced fry pan, on medium heat. The pieces flew in the radius of 10 feet, and this could certainly injure people. There was certainly neither a sudden change of temperature, nor a contact with any other object. After some research online, I found that there were many people reporting the same issue with Anolon lids.

Lids fit, have a good grip, and seem sturdy enough to last as long as the pans they will be used on. It was a difficult task to find lids that precisely fit my current collection of pans, which are not Analon. The angled edge lid design is excellent in that it should not scratch or chip the finish on the rim of the pans. The grip provides great clearance for the fingers more than any other lid I have seen, and the silicon material on the handle provides great insulation. Also appreciate the see-through glass better than the original stainless steel lids that came with the set.

I bought this brand of toaster bags (from a different retailer), and the first time I used them, one of the bags melted, making a decent-sized hole. This defeated my purpose of keeping my gluten-free bread safe from contamination by all the gluten crumbs in the toaster at work. It's possible that the toaster at work gets hotter than normal toasters, but I would think most users would be using this sort of toaster at work, hotels, etc.

Discount Circulon 80486 10-1/2-Inch/4-Quart Covered Tapered Sauteuse

I bought this sauteuse as part of this amazong deal from Amazon where I got a 14-piece circulon 2 set + a circulon 2 griddle + this sauteuse + a dutch oven for just $200. So I am very happy with the price. I used this piece yesterday and though I like this just like I like all my other circulon cookware, it has some issues. I really love Circulon 2 compared to Circulon Elite though because of its steel lids and high quality plastic handles, so I dont have to worry about breaking the lids accidentally.

Here are the pros and cons of this piece.

Pros:

-It is not as heavy as I thought it would be. So easy to handle (weight wise).

-Food does not stick to the bottom. Love that

-Food cooks well and evenly.

-Easy to clean

Cons:

-The handles for the sauteuse are made out of steel instead of high quality plastic like the other Circulon 2 pieces I have. These handles get hot after a while. It is cool enough that you will not burn yourself if you accidentaly touch it but hot enough that you cannot lift it and carry it around.

-The lid has the same problem. It had a steel handle and gets hot.

I would go for the Circulon 2 instead of the Circulon Elite. Much easier to handle.

I have a complete set of Circulon, but composed of the regular and Circulon 2, and Elite, with the soft silicon rubber handles. I much prefer the Circulon 2 or Elite for its non-stick sides, which makes it much easier to clean. Nothing ever sticks inside, so there isn't any scrubbing needed, just a normal dish rag or sponge, a bit of soap, and thats it!

I have had most of my pieces for well over two years, use them almost daily, and they are still looking like new. One must not ever use any non-stick on high heat. However, Medium-High is fine, and I use that setting for the grill pan 100% of the time.

Without any doubt, Circulon is the finest cookware I have ever owned!

I bought this pretty much as a chili pot, thinking my old 5½ qt Ultrex stock pot was getting just that old. Since I received it, I've used it almost every day. I've made my chili, soup, bronzed salmon, potato pancakes, sauteed veggies, and so much more in it. It cleans so easily, and is a pleasure to use. The only problem is that the handles get VERY hot. I've got to start remembering to use pot holders before I don't have any fingerprints left.

The first dish I made with this was a Italian Fish stew. sautéed onions garlic, shallots, no problem added white wine, tomatoes, clam broth and finally all the seafood. Beautiful, tasty, easy clean. I was satisfied with this pot. Then last night I made mac and cheese. I melted milk and cheese in the pot added cooked macaroni salt and pepper, and threw some more cheese on top for added crunch. Baked at 350. WOW nice crust, nice oohey gooey mac and cheese. From stove top to oven to the sink so easy.

I remember when dish duty was a chore and scrubbing pots, UGH! I remember Teflon that peeled and scratched Yuck! I dreamed of cookware like this when I was a kid and it was my turn to do the dishes. My dreams have come true!
