I just finished using my wonderful Cook's Standard 8 quart stock pot yesterday, Sept. 25, 2011, for cooking pinto beans, my favorite bean. This task was a dream and the quality of the Cook's Standard stock pot is something to behold. This product and the money one outlays for it makes it probably one of the best deals anywhere! I really can't see where the quality is any different than any of your high-end product$. The stainless steel is wonderfully polished and the heavy lids and handles makes using this stock pot something to look forward to. Get it and you will NOT be disappointed! The delivery was great! Fast!

I just used it today to make a baked bean recipe. It has worked great, the high sides kept the bacon from splattering and it heated evenly bottom to sides, on my induction cooktop.

Cleanup is yet to be done after this days cooking session, however, when stirred, the bottom layer didn't show any extra sticking and the sides had none at all.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for an attractive and extremely functional stockpot.

Tri-ply is not necessary in a stockpot, but I really like it in the other stainless pans we use. When I read of the quality variations in encapsulated models of similar size, I decided to spend a little more one time. I am delighted with the construction, weight and finish of this stockpot. The brand is not a familiar one, but it is true to specifications and has been trouble-free.

I have learned that it is worth putting good money into a heavy, sturdy, well-finished pan with a known alloy content. Although I consider this to be serious $$ for a pan, it is inexpensive compared to others that are marginally better, if at all. I will have and enjoy this pot for a lifetime, so I consider it money well spent.

This replaced my mothers old 8 quart magnalite monster and it works great. Lighter, prettier and just as good at making a bunch of spaghetti sauce or making chicken stock.
