The inferior spatula not one of humankind's most pressing problems, but for a serious cook like myself, it's a joy to finally have a spatula that meets my criteria:

1.) A spatula head that doesn't separate from the handle, leaving an open, dark, narrow recess that causes me to constantly wonder, "What's growing in there? How am I supposed to keep this clean?"

2.) A heat-resistant spatula I can actually cook with, not reserve exclusively for scraping dregs from bowls.

3.) A dishwasher-worthy spatula whose wooden handle doesn't deteriorate into splinters long before its head is dead.

4.) A spatula whose head is flexible enough (but not too flexible :-) to do thorough scraping in the far reaches of a blender or deep jar.

With these 4 criteria met, I would be satisfied, but Orka All-Silicone Spatulas are beautifully weight-balanced so they feel good in my hand, and are easy to use. There are other spatulas with a "spoon" head for larger jobs, but combining the "spoon" with Orka's other features adds to its usefulness. Orka spatulas also add a bright touch of color to the container of utensils on my counter. I give these spatulas as gifts and get glowing feedback. "Glowing" and spatula? An unlikely pairing, but this is an exceptional spatula.

I have two Orka spatulas, a straight one and one like this spoon-shaped. I now have to throw out the spoon-shaped one since it first began disintegrating on one side (read: chip) and now has done the same on the other side. While one *could* still use it I'm afraid of having minute sized chips of silicone end up in my baked goods... The first time it occurred for no apparent reason, I didn't use it near a blade or dry it immediately next to a knife, and only noticed it later. The 2nd time the silicone came off when I was scraping a *plastic* jar of peanut butter.

I still love the utility of this spatula, love its design, and how it fits into your hand... but major minus points for durability. In my mind, a $10 to $12 spatula should last a LOT longer.

Love the product, but the green is not as shown. It is actually avocado green rather than lime. Still, the spoon spatula works great, is hygenic and easy to clean, and I use it all the time!

Honest reviews on Mastrad All Silicone Spoon Spatula

Great spatula by any means, but I am very disappointed by th color! I was expecting a 'happy and bright' neon green but ended up with what I can best describe as olive green, not my favorite color. I will keep it anyway since I need it, but very disappointed.

Purchased one to try and ended up ordering more for myself and still more for gifts. Works great, holds up great, and the solid silicone design means not having to remove the head when cleaning and drying just toss in the dishwasher.
