Never been disappointed with wusthof. We have all classics, but amazon was selling this ikon for less than the classic slicer, so we picked up one of them.
Steer clear of the "gourmet" line. Not everything made by wusthof is fully forged anymore, but this one obviously is.This thing is great. Perfect balance and very sharp. Cut nice thin slices of tenderloin with no probs. next morning went through crusty half frozen bagel no problem, better than serrated bread knife.
