I wish I had gotten a new one a long time ago; this new one fits so much better and thus seals so much faster. It is terrific!

You know, after writing that stunning review I've had 3 bad experiences; this new gasket is thinner than the original 1970's gasket, and 3 times it's rolled over when the lid is "screwed-on" and the pressure has forced it's way out the side of the lid, rather than out the top hole, which is scary and could be dangerous. I know the gasket is placed correctly and the lid is on correctly and the pressure hole is open; so it's just an unfortunate thing that this gasket does not fit and now I'm afraid of my pressure cooker with this gasket ...

Since I could not find this product locally; I ordered two thinking the old Mirro

would work for years; but neither would hold pressure. Went back to my old seal which

is about 12 years old and about shot; but will still hold pressure.

I felt paying $5.00 for shipping was ridiculous when the postage on the package plainly said $0.50. I have been unable to get the gasket to seal properly, despite my 50+ years of using a pressure cooker. I know how they work!

I have an old mirro pressure cooker that the gasket is gone so I ordered this so called replacement-IT IS NOT!! it does fit (diameter) but it is thinner than the regular original one so it does not create the proper seal for the pressure to build upI am so disappointedthere is nothing wrong with my pressure cooker except that gasketI tried to replace it with another new one (Pressure cooker) but the quality of the new ones are not as good as the original ones-In fact it is poor in my opinion. I am so upset because I used my pressure cooker for many of my favorite recipes!!

Its completely disingenuous to sell this substandard garbage gasket seal. It doesn't seal!! If you are unfortunate enough to try this gasket out, you'll end up with an explosion of scalding steam and canceling your dinner plans
