The quality of this little beauty is apparent in every part, from the exquisite wood base to the heavy ceramic pot. The tea light candle keeps the cheese bubbling throughout the meal. It makes a simple dinner for two into an elegant and special occasion.

Important note: the ceramic pot must be submerged and soaked in cold water for two hours before its first use. This warning is somewhat buried in the instructions. It's also not clear that this only needs to be done once -I called Boska and got clarification.

I was relatively pleased with this purchase. The ceramic pot is definitely large enough for 2 people and can accommodate 4 nicely. You have to prepare the cheese in another pot, which isn't much of an issue. The candle does a good job at keeping the cheese warm, and you even get la religieuse on the bottom of the pot.

The price is a little high for what you get though. I doubt I would have purchased the item if I did not have gift cards.

The ceramic pot looks small but it holds a little over 2 cups of liquid or a fondue recipe with 16oz of cheese. The instructions say that it should be immersed in water for 2 hours before use. I don't know if it's a one-time thing or it has to be done before EACH use. Since it's not a lot of work, I immerse it in water before each use just to be safe. There are holes at the base of the feet where water can get into the interior of the pot which is probably what prevents the pot from cracking due to heat.

I cook the fondue in a nonstick pot and transfer it in the ceramic fondue pot just before serving. The tea light does a good job of keeping the fondue hot and in the liquid state. Even with the traditional Swiss fondue pots, cheese tends to burn/form a ball close to the heat source, so I give the fondue a little swirl with my bread every now and then. In the end, my husband and I were able to eat only half of the fondue so this size pot can definitely feed 4 people. I covered the leftover fondue (still in the ceramic pot) with a cling wrap and stored it in the fridge. To eat it again, I heated the entire thing in the microwave a minute at a time, 2 to 3 times, giving it a swirl with a spoon after each minute.

I worked well but in the middle of the pot a ball of burned cheese was formed because if the position of the candle. To remove it took 2 days of soaking the pot in water.

I guess it could've been avoided by constantly stirring the cheese.

First time using it with the supplied Tea Light it cracked. I was heating up Fondue and the pot had been immersed in water per the instructions when the Pot cracked. It's kinda small, but adequate for two people. I'm returning it in favor of an electric pot. BTW, plan for an hour to allow the little Tea Candle to heat up the Fondue.
