I bought 3 of these to use when I have parties and attend large potlucks. I have used them several times just in the short time I have had them and absolutely love them. I wish I would have bought them a long time ago. You put water in the bottom pan and then the food you want to keep hot in the top pan and cover with the lid. You can find the heating canisters at any hardware store. They heat evenly and keep things very hot. The only complaint is they do not come with any instructions or even a "fill" line to know how much water to put in but it's not difficult to figure out. I filled the bottom pan about 1/3 full of water roughly. They are also very easy to clean.
