After doing some research, this brand name came up as a recommendation and after seeing this discounted price I had to go for it.
What I like about it:
Aluminum core base for even heat distribution.
Made in Spain, not China
Brushed stainless steel interior, no toxic non-stick coatings
Everything feels very sturdy and well-made
2 pressure settings, multiple safety release valves.
In fact I liked it so much after using it the first time, I'm buying a 2nd one for multiple course cooking.

Ok, first I bought a slow cooker because everyone kept telling me how easy they were, you just start it, go to work, by the time you come home it's done. Well, I don't like to leave things cooking when no one is home, plus the times on the weekends I did cook using the slow cooker the food all came out sort of alike no matter what ingredients I used--kind of the same mushy casseroly ending. Not exactly what I wanted. Then I read an article about pressure cookers, I'd never even seen one but these sounded like what I needed--practically instant food. The article recommended a Megafesa and it said to get at least a 6 quart one since you always had to leave 1/4-1/3 empty for the steam. So I got the 6.5 quart one. And loved it. For a while I was cooking something in it every weekend. Love making stock, the canned stuff all have other things added when I just want plain, pure chicken stock or beef stock or whatever. I like the control of knowing exactly what went into my food too. And I can cook artichokes in 20 mins! I can make pulled pork in an hour. I can toss frozen chicken parts straight from the freezer into the pot, cover with some water and spices and 45 mins. later I've got food! there are some things I don't like cooking in the p.c.--and it's probably just me; I like rice cooked the old fashion way (and the p.c. doesn't save you much time with rice anyway). I like making dried legumes/pulse the old way too so I have ore control over when they are just done enough but not too mushy. I don't use the p.c. to make pasta--but I have used the pot to make pasta (without the lid on) since it's such a nice size pot (6 quarts). All the valves work like a charm, exhaust excess steam like it's supposed to, I can run the hot pot under the cold water if I need to open it mid-cooking to add things that don't need to be cooked quite so long. The only time I have problems is when I don't check the way the rubber gasket is sitting so the lid doesn't have a good seal (so the pressure can't build properly)--my fault though, when I'm more careful, it works great. My one and only "drawback" is I cannot find replacement rubber gaskets anywhere. They may sell them in Spain but I haven't been back there in 10 years and don't really plan on going there just to look for gaskets; if I ever do take a holiday there though, I'll look around. I've had my pot for 5+ years andn although the gasket is discolored now, it's not cracking or showing signs of wear yet. I just worry about in years to come because I'd hate to have to replace this pot simply because I can't find a gasket for it. The pot itself is excellent, well designed, beautiful, heavy. Now I'm thinking about getting this smaller Megafesa; the 6 qt. is great but I always end up making so much in it I'm dumping (ok, into compost) too much food since we can't eat it all and the freezer is full.
