Solid metal construction. I live in a condo and space is limited. The steamer holds plenty of veggies and the small pot is also great for cooking small dishes. The steamer insert has a graduated base that allows it to fit on varying sized pots, which is also a very nice feature. The glass lid with a little steam hole and the solid metal lid is also a bonus. It's a bit pricey, but it's a great multi-use investment.

Wow!!!! Super heavy duty all the way. This steamer pan is big and deep enough to steam a large amount of anything and the pan it sits inside is perfect size to make soup etc. Love that it comes with a heavy duty glass steamer lid and a heavy duty metal lid. Well worth the money.Best Deals for Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Multi-Pot Steamer Set
I have been through two double boilers. This pot is thick stainless steel, comes with two, a glass and stainless steel lid.It has a nice exterior shine. The heat is evenly distributed and it is easy to clean. It is definitely worth the money and I plan to buy this brand again.

I thought that the pan and steamer would be larger. As you can see, from my placed picture, that it just hold a medium bunch of spinach. It's better than what I had so, I'll keep it. Nice solid pan and steamer. JMCFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Multi-Pot Steamer Set
It's La Creuset Of course it gets 5 stars. I have many La Creust pieces and enjoy cooking when I have time. I actually bought this steamer after reading about steamed eggs being easy to peal even the fresh ones. I don't know about you but I always seam to mutilate hard boiled eggs when I attempted to peal them. They look like a piece of modern art at best when I get done.Soooo after reading about steamed eggs being easy to peal, I bought this (and bought one for my sister too since she loves to cook as well total side note there but I'm known to go off on tangents sometime). I was excited to try the egg thing since I love home made potato salad but HATE pealing eggs. So when this steamer arrived I ran to the Whole Foods on Halsted in Chicago and grabbed a dozen pastured eggs along with some organic potatoes and all the other ingredients for potato salad. I came home put some water in this beautiful perfect designed steamer. I put 7 eggs in the top steamer part and put the lid on. When it started to steam, I set the timer for 20 minutes (I heard you only have to do about 15 minutes but I wanted to make sure they were done). After 20 minutes I took them out and put them in the frig. No ice water I just put them in frig. An hour later I went to peal them and WOW WOW WOW!!!! The shells came RIGHT off... The eggs were super fresh and they still pealed better then ever. When was the last time you pealed 7 eggs and each one pealed flawlessly? I did it for the first time... That made my evening... And I also ate some kick a-s potato salad that evening... yummmmmm :)
I'll never boil eggs again....
