This is definitely one of the highest quality water kettles that can be brought for under $100. I brought the larger, 6.5-quart one, and it uses thick, solid stainless steel. The lid is definitely large and stays on when the water boils, and the entire kettle is easy to clean. It came with a 2-year warranty. The Amazon info is incorrect, it has a 3 layer base, not a 5 layer, but this hasn't posed a problem on my gas stovetop. Happy with it for the month I've had it so far.

I bought a cast iron kettle two years and it was ok. I do not think that my cast iron kettle would be good for making tea, So, I took a chance and it paid off. I bought this stainless steel kettle and I am using it on a wood burning stove. The first day I cleaned it out and dried it before using it 3/4 full on the Wood stove for over 8 hours. I usually have the stove at around 400 degrees. The kettle holds a lot of water just take a peek and keep an eye on the water levels. The directions do say to use it with milk or water on a regular stove, on medium I believe, to break it in. So far so good. I made some instant oatmeal and will use the boiling hot water for tea later in the day. It is solid, as I said. Going to keep it 3/4 full so I don't have to keep so close an eye on the water level.Best Deals for Demeyere Water Kettle
