I purchased to make soup. Excellent size for those of us who want to make smaller batches; a size which I could not find in a store. If you like to cook your onions and garlic in a bit of oil before adding stock, you will want a heavier-bottomed pot such as this. This brand I have found to be consistently high in quality.
