I purchased this mug last fall, & was very happy with it during last winter because it worked great. It has the narrow bottom design to fit the car cup-holder. I only used it for 3, 4 months during winter & it sat in my cubboard until recently.

A few weeks ago, I took it out again to use it for my son. He told me the cup leaked as he carried it into his class. Turns out the close device under the lid is warped, and therefore, it leaks as he swang it arround while walking.

Last week, when I pour hot liquid in it, I start hearing this hissing sound. Then last night when I pour some hot apple cider into it, it hissed so loud & 1 spout shooted out from the bottom of the mug.

I do not know how that happened, because it looks like the mug is double wall, and the inside seems to be 1 whole piece. Since it's stainless steel, it has horrizontal line texture, & I wonder if that is where it hides the seam. As I write this review, I take the mug out & pour some tap water into it again, to make sure I am right before I submit this review. Sure enough, the thing leaks like a faucet.

I have to go today looking for another travel mug, and this MrCoffee won't be it.

Mug is good. Keeps coffee hot. Only fault is the lid. Cannot drink out of lid properly. Fits nicely in compartment in car.

Great cup to go with my new Mr Coffee single serve coffee brewer. It fits nicely into the single serve and into my cup holder! Looking at some of these fancy coffee mugs I noticed the price can get up there in dollar signs...this was a good price for a fully stainless coffee mug. Good quality and keeps my coffee hot for a good period of time unlike the plastic "double wall" mugs.
