I have a full original set of Dansk Concerto Allegro dishes from 2001. These replacements were clearly inferior to my original set. The color was slightly off which can be expected but the weight and quality of finish were really off. The salad plate had minor ripples in the finish.

If you are putting together a full set of dishes these might be okay for some people who don't know to expect different. I returned them.

First off, I purchased my dishes from Amazon. Why do people purchase an item from another site, only to post their "review" on Amazon? I ordered two place settings, and both arrived well-packaged without as much as a chip in any of the eight products. None were broken, cracked, grumpy or ill-tempered. (Must not make a comment about the histrionics posted in other reviews...) And, I really like these dishes. To me, they are reminiscent of classic diner plates, except for the coffee mug. I am not a fan of the mug and wasn't a fan when I saw it online. I really want a diner-style cup and saucer, but I knew what I was getting. FYI, I had the over-priced Brasserie stuff from Williams-Sonoma that I gave to my niece, and these Dansk dishes are far better at a much better price. Yes, I should be giving this place setting five stars, but I really am not bonding with the mug.

Atrociously poor packaging caused dishes to arrive broken. I bought eight place settings as a wedding present. The bride had to continuously send back the broken dishes, only to receive more shipments of broken china. I think she now has eight complete sets but the process took months. It was a real headache during a time when she was planning for her wedding. The packaging is flimsy, the packages are not marked "Fragile," and the set is packaged so that the dishes inevitably get smashed together. This is not an Amazon problem as the packaging is done by Dansk. I would never purchase Dansk china by mail again.

I absolutely loved these dishes! They came packaged very nicely and safely. Dansk makes a great product and I have been waiting for a long time to purchase these dishes. I just wish they could be a little more affordable.
