At first I was nervous about getting a pan without the long handle and how I would hold it while draining ground beef, but now that I have this one I couldn't be happier. My husband works a 12 hour night shift and I have to send him with a healthy meal that is not only easy to cook but quick and easy for him to microwave and eat at work. So I started making him all-in-one skillet meals sort of like Hamburger Helper only healthier with veggies and whole wheat pasta.
I was worried about the chemicals in nonstick cookware and I was getting tired of always knocking the long handle of my skillet and nearly dropping the whole thing off the stove. It took several days of research to find and choose this pan. There are very few other everyday pans with a clear lid and this one had no reviews but I gave it a shot and it's exactly what I needed. Stainless is a bit tricky to cook with and it takes some practice. I have to use a lower flame with this pan because it heats up quickly and retains heat so well.
It's not nonstick so you have to use oil to cook and you have to wait for the oil to heat up before putting anything into it. At first it may seem to be terrible with food sticking to the bottom, but it will release once the food is fully cooked and it's not hard to clean if something does stick to it, just soak a bit in warm soapy water and give it a good scrub with a green scouring pad. That may be the best part as it will sit flat in the bottom of my sink where my old traditional skillet with the long handle would not fit so it had to be soaked on the counter.
This pan can also go into the oven and I can bake seasoned chicken breast in it which means that this pan also replaced some old bakeware. The fewer items I have to store in my kitchen, the better.
Overall, this was a great purchase and I would recommend this to anyone looking to replace that old rusty nonstick skillet.

I bought this skillet to replace a non-stick skillet that was starting to wear. I am trying to replace all my non-stick with stainless for several reasons but mainly because stainless just lasts so long. I have another Cuisinart pot that is from the 80's, which I use several times a week, wash in the dishwasher and it is still in great condition. This pot is just the right size for most the meals I cook for my family of four. I love that it has a glass lid and that is can go in the dishwasher. I also like how it doesn't have a longer handle so it doesn't take up as much space in my cabinet. The handles do get warm, but I'm used to using pot holders with my other pots so it's not an issue for me. It cleans up pretty well although I do notice if I soak it for a little bit before going into the dishwasher, it does help.
For the price it's selling at, I think this is a great deal and I hope to use it for years to come.

Picked this up for my Uncle Joe for Christmas, and he can't stop raving about it.Only complaint he has about the pan is that instructions state not for high heat cooking.
Even though his stove is crooked the pan seems to cook pretty evenly for being two pieces.
Two pieces, meaning the pan is not one solid piece of metal,
So far so good... Knock on wood.
