My mother taught me how to crack an egg and go back and forth between the 2 shell halves to separate the yolks. What a mess! However now, the plastic bottles are being made with thinner plastic due to the environment so that does not work anymore! Our healthy minded family only eat egg whites. This little gadget has made removing the yolk second nature. In a small bowl, I crack open all the eggs a family member is going to eat, for example, the hubby eats four egg whites, and I take the "pluck" I place it over the yolk, one by one and gingerly squeeze it to picks up the yolk, I tip it on it's side to let the whites fall back into the bowl and wala I end up having pure egg whites. The first time I used it I broke the joke as I squeezed too hard. But you get the hand of it right away. I use it every day and I find its worth the $ and the effort.
