No spring to the tongs so they had no tension to open. They were more like long pliers or kinda worked when managed like chopsticks.

I live on my grill and was hoping for essentially a longer version of the OXO 16" tongs for help with higher heat conditions. These

are a total no-go. Maybe I got a bad one, but that's the only one I had in hand to review. Anyone suggest a good 20" or 20+" set of

tongs?

Bought this for the grill, needed a longer set of tongs. I love these types of tongs, I only use these and a metal flipper for the grill. I don't even bother with any other grill utensils.

My Viking BBQ grill can get extremely hot (that's good!!) but I could only stand a second or so of it with my bare hands and arms. This long reach tong is just the answer. Did not give it a 5 Star rating because there is a "lock" at the base of the handle that often would lock the tongs closed while using them, but that is good when storing them.

Great for tending the coals, and picking up vegies and meat. Nice and long so my fingers don't get Q'd.
