I love it, it gives a quick and accurate read. The back light is nice and bright and comes in handy when i BBQ at night.Only negative is that it is bulky and will not fit in the side pocket of my chef's jacket, so i cannot use it at work. The probe is long and slim and leaves a small puncture hole which is another positive. Buy it for home use.

We have had it a little over six months and have used it perhaps once or twice a week successfully. It now shows the three L's. The instructions say that the temperature is out of range when you see that. In my case it shows the L's when I open it and shows the temperature when I close it making it unusable. I wrote to Taylor and got no response...so much for customer service. I am sending it to Taylor under the one year warranty and will update this when I get a result, good or bad.

First: I changed my rating to a five star because of the wonderful return experience I had with Taylor. Sometimes things just break, the sign of a great company is how they deal with it. Taylor immediately shipped me out a new thermometer and the turn around time was great...Hooray for them. They have a customer with me. You can depend on them to stand behind their products.

Just tried this on a weekend of BarBQing, and it performed accurately. Saved having to reheat and cook some more if too rare, and avoid getting things over done. Couldn't be happier.

As a young man, I was trying to perfect my grilling ways and this thermometer seemed like it has it all, and it does. The thermometer's temp settings help out a lot to be able to get the perfect level of doneness for everything from steaks to chicken. However, the thermometer's accuracy is not always perfect and takes a few seconds to get to the right temp. In whole, if you are looking for a thermometer that can even teach a novice the difference between rare and medium, then buy.

I bought one of these from Lowe's this past summer, to go in the RV while camping. It works so well, that I found myself "borrowing" it from the RV when grilling at home. To make sure I don't forget to return it before our next trip, I decided to buy a second one for the house. I especially like the bright LED indicators that tells me when the meat is rare-medium-well, in addition to the digital temp readout. Lowe's doesn't stock these right now since it's winter time, so I was happy to find one here on Amazon.
