The silicon oven mitt has great grip and it is black so it doesn't show stains or burn marks like my old red oven mitt. It is comparable to other oven mitts as far as heat blockage, no better and no worse.

My issue with ordinary oven mitts was that I would accidentally dip the tips of the thumb into food all the time, not sure if it was lack of coordination or incompetence, but the grip on this glove is easy to clean, as well as being great at gripping glass and almost completely heat resistant. Glad I took a chance on it

these are light-weight but don't conduct heat. they are good -sized and would fit both men and all but the smallest of hands. Love them. I ordered two and definately would buy them again.
