Follow UP: this is not the pressure cooker I bought before. this is the recession version. I struggled with this pressure cooker 2 hours to get it to work. It is too tall and skinny. Previous version was wider and not as tall and metal was thicker. Ok so after it boiled over and foamed out of the top three times and i had to cool and totally wash lid and liner and dry reheated for it to do it again. I had to add at least 8 tbsp oil (usually add 2) to meat for it not to foam. ok I have a GE Profile electric stove and on high it took 13 minutes to rock, and the old one took 7. with the old pressure cooker after that i would lower temp (stove has dial 1-9 then high) to 7. with this one you have to lower temp to 5 for it not to foam or spew liquid from around handle. i hope this follow up saves you the couple hours to figure it out yourself. once we got it worked out I am thinking this may be a good pressure cooker for frozen veggies. Buying a new gasket for my old model. I don't forsee doing a bigger roast in this one. it is too skinny and narrow.
UPdate: in new market for another pressure cooker. there are no gaskets for replacement on the market for this kind. My hubby even went to ace hardware and out of the many ones they have he couldn't find anything close and I even mailed a check to company that had address in users manual and they sent back the check saying they had no idea what i was even talking about and they didn't carry it either. ALSO this pressure cooker may be the most dangerous i have ever used. ONLY let the temp from naturally. if you cool under the sink hot liquids squirt out of the sides at full blast and have twice burned me even though i was not even touching the pressure cooker.

I did not like this product when I received it and took it from the box. I realized that it felt very cheaply made and I would not recommend this product to anyone.Best Deals for Basic Essentials 5-Quart Polished Pressure Cooker
It works fine. It will not open if there is any pressure inside. The other safety features work well. It is well made. The anodizing is first-rate. It is not hard to clean. It is only $25. It is a no-brainer.Unless you cook entire chickens or large hunks of meat, or cook for 4 or more people, it is a bit large for a cup of rice or beans. In that case there is an identical 3-cup version.
