I paid about this price for a dozen of very similar little stainless steel sauce cups (a little more than 3 bucks for a dozen) from TheWebstaurantStore. I've been using them for over a year now, to measure out small amounts of spices and herbs so I can line up everything I need for a recipe.
These days, with my memory going, it's the best way to stop myself adding spices twice. Or three times. Or more. Plus, it's just a lot handier. Now I can cook a lot faster just measure everything out before, line them up in the order I'll need them, then I can just glance at the recipe clipped over the counter, grab the next cup, and just whip through the cooking process.
I have some small glass bowls in two sizes for larger amounts as well that I got from a dollar store the smallest ones come 4 to a pack (for a dollar) and the next size up comes 3 to a pack.
Having these ingredient bowls in the various sizes really helped me to be able to continue cooking, in less time, with less energy, and with a LOT less confusion.
These little cups come in a 1.5 oz size, which is what I have, suitable for a couple T of spices or what have you, and a larger 2.5 oz size.
They've really been very very handy in the kitchen!
