Have had this for about six months and have used it twice when electricity was out. Only used it for heating water and a can of soup but was well satisfied with the results. Having the case worked out well with putting 2 more cans of Sterno, waterproof matches in a plastic case and lighter, just grab it and your ready. Nice addition to my emergency supplies.

Sterno has been a Scouting favorite for a long time. Described by many as "jellied alcohol" (and used by the food industry as large food pan warmers at hotels and buffets), it burns hot and for several hours per can. It can be extinguished by lightly setting the lid back on the can, and may be reused later if properly sealed (lid tightly pressed-on) after cooling to prevent evaporation of the contents. This stove kit includes the Sterno, a fold-up mini-stove, and decent "blazing-red" carry case that is easy to spot (danger fuel) and could be used for emergency signaling (so you pay a bit more for the included case). The stove is sturdy and works well for many sizes of cookware and breathes well underneath while providing wind blocks on the sides. A nice camping unit or emergency home use kit (use with adequate ventilation). For smaller and lighter alternatives, search "esbit stove" or "WetFire".

This stove is perfect for rough camping. Stove sets up easy and holds a coffee pot or skillet for cooking. Folds back down and away for easy carrying. I use sterno for the fire. I recommend.
