I don't care where this is made, so long as it's a quality product and it is! Unlike all the glass/metal units, it retains heat, thus making a really fantastic cup of joe. The screen makes a tight seal and last night was the first time I understood the admonition to press down slowly on the press. My previous French Press had no resistance and the filter would just slide down. Furthermore, the holes in the screen were large and grounds always escaped up the side. I also purchased a Sears Burr Coffee Grinder, that has a separate review, so we are fresh grinding our whole beans. My husband was amazed at how rich, smooth, and not bitter the coffee was. Making French Press coffee is more labor intensive then other types of brew but it is so worth it. I'm so glad I got this for Christmas. Thanks Mom!

My quest for good coffee took a step forward when I got this beautiful press. I like the heat retaining quality of heavy ceramic vs. a glass beaker press. Grounds do not find their way into my cup because the tolerance of the press is surprisingly close. Looks great on my counter. Cleans easily. One note of caution: 27 ounces MEANS 27 ounces! The press volume is actually greater than 27 ounces (more like 35-40), but due to the design of the spout, if you add more than the stated volume of 27 ounces of water, grounds will either leak by the press screen or spurt onto your counter. If, however, you do not overfill, and press evenly, this press works perfectly. I wish it were a bit bigger, but I do not think I will ever go back to a glass beaker (Grosche or Bodum) after experiencing the benefits of this well-built ceramic press. I pre-measure my water (27 ounces), use a Breville Smartgrinder set on course grind, raise water temp to 195-200 degrees and take the guesswork out of making my brew taste the way my wife and I enjoy our coffee.

Works greats, though I wish the spout wasn't so large. I can't fill it all the way up without grounds coming out. I had to learn to cut back.

The only bad thing is that you can't see how much coffee is left inside. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product! It's definitely better than glass ones (of which I have broken many) and is a beautiful piece of kitchenware.

I learned of the awesomeness that is french press brewed coffee a while ago (10 months or so?), and purchased a (relatively cheap) french press. It was glass, and it serviced me well until one morning when I went to use it, and found a hairline fracture curving around the bottom of the carafe. I was upset and ordered a new one. This one was also glass, but it was a style I had been eyeing for a while...and...I didn't need a "big" french press as I was the only one drinking coffee. This was a couple of months ago.

Earlier this week, I woke up to make my coffee and sadly found my beloved french press sitting in the sink in pieces (it had been on the counter when I went to bed). I'm guessing that wind from the nearby open window knocked it over, but I will, unfortunately never know.

Disgruntled and upset and *way* undercaffeinated, I came to Amazon and was delighted to see this french press. I've been considering Le Creuset products anyway, and have plans to replace my pots and pans over time. I am soon to no longer be the only coffee drinker in the house so the size was especially appealing.

I love the feel of stability and solidness it has. Wind won't be blowing this over any time soon. I love the rich color (color is good!), and it's nice to have coffee sitting in something that isn't going to get cold all that quickly.

I still have to figure out the right ratios of coffee to water to make *my* perfect brew, but I know that will come. In the meantime, even my slightly diluted cup yesterday tasted delicious.
