We saw these crepe spreaders at the crepe vendor at the farmer's market. We decided we needed to have one! The downside is that you have to get FIVE in a package, but the upside is you can cut them to make smaller ones, if you have a smaller crepe pan (which we do!) So now we have wide ones and short ones. They are sturdy and feel substantial. Oh, and, if you've only ever made crepes by swirling, or using the back of a spoon, you're in for a treat using this spreader will make YOUR crepes THE BEST CREPES EVER!!!

I cooked crepes all winter in Telluride, CO and to make a traditional, thin crepe perfectly you need a spreader.
You can use gravity if your pan has handles, but even then, it will be thicker and full of bubbles like your average
pancake. With a spreader, you can make the true, French crepe that is thin and gorgeous. It takes a certain coordination
to master the "rake". And, it's a technique that will impress anyone watching.
I never used a flat-head spreader so I can't state an opinion to which is better. But I will say, you probably won't need
any more than two spreaders for an entire lifetime. Yes, being wood, it will have a lifespan if not cleaned properly. In
fact, you'll want some wood glue around for any two-piece, wood spreader because moisture will affect the connection
eventually. I always washed mine by hand immediately after use to limit exposure to moisture. Never put these in a dish
washer or let them soak in a sink full of water.
Tips: before spreading any batter, dip the spreading bar in some water first so it's damp, not dripping wet. If you don't
wet your spreader first, it will get coated with batter quickly and be tougher to remove later. You could even hit it with
a light spray of Pam or just a quick rub of oil, too.
Crepes are fun and perfect for entertaining. Plus, kids LOVE crepes, especially with Nutella! Make sure to add fresh berries
or create some savory versions which always impress.
Have fun. Au revoir.

I looked everywhere for a crepe spreader without having to buy a pan, too. This is actually a package of spreaders. It works perfectly!
Honest reviews on Paderno World Cuisine 7-1/2-Inch Long T Shaped Wooden Crepe
This crepe spreader works fine if you're sure to dip it first in the batter before attempting to spread batter on the pan. However, we wanted just one and had to settle for this pack of 5. I don't think we'll use 5 in an entire lifetime. Also don't bother with a spreader if you're using a non-stick pan with a "lip"; it's just too awkward. We wound up pouring batter in the pan and quickly spreading it around by tilting/rotating the pan, using good ole gravity.

I had read other reviews that made this seem like a good product so I took a chance & bought it. I have now made HUNDREDS of crepes w/ it! I LOVE this product! I did not find it dificult to use at all & I can make 4 small crepes at a time on it. We like to eat them small so we get a sampling of a lot of flavors. I have created quite a few dessert & main dish filings so we have fun eating!
