After buying many different French Presses I believe the Berghoff press has the best quality construction of them all. Very easy to use and a great press for two cups of coffee. Easy to clean, useable outside without worry and one can quickly make two additional cups quickly for the 2nd cup when necessary. Best of all, this one is actually made in Belgium and might be the only press that is NOT made in China. The press mechanism, filter screen and all surrounding material is made of stainless steel, promising to be durable and safe.

I was looking for a French Press with more elegance than the plastic ones offered cheaply in many department stores, but also one that was not as pricey as Bodum. This fit the bill. And it has served marvelously! It comes with simple directions and works wonderfully, making great coffee, as, of course, do most French Presses. But this particular one has more bang for your buck. Definitely recommend it!

I have owned several other french presses and this is the best so far. I am very happy with this press particularly because the cut out design on the metal holder helps me measure how much water to pour into the press for the number of cups I want for any given day. This press looks nice when sitting on the counter. The glass is secure and the metal holder surrounds more than half the glass so it helps protect it from accidental bumps. Coffee is delicious with no need to taste the coffee filter I had to use with my coffee maker. I wish Amazon sold the replacement cut but I hope I will not need one.

I had expected a well made and well reviewed french press to have a carafe made of glass, not plastic. But it was plastic and is being returned.

After starting with a quite small 3 cup (12oz) La Cafetiere press (which I really like but I can make 1 10oz cup max), I started shopping for a somewhat larger press. I decided that a 4 cup (16oz) would serve me just fine. It seemed that all the french presses were based on a 4oz cup size, so I ordered the Berghoff based on that assumption. Imagine my surprise when I opened it up and saw a huge gleaming stainless steel press that looked 4 times larger than my little 3 cup model. It is actually a 32oz monster. All ends well though with this true 8oz/cup 4 cup Berghoff (confusing hmmm?)as I can now make two nice 12oz mugs of coffee and share with a guest.
