Pros: Thick, heavy gauge metal
Nice solid wooden handle
Flat enough in middle to fry an egg
or a pancake, in addition to stir fry
Cons: Low sides that flare outward, instead of up at a steeper angle
One of the main advantages of a wok, especially a natural wok without a non-stick coating is to be able to stirfry at high temps. (non-stick releases what scientists think may be toxic fumes at high heat) AND have the sides of the pan tall enough so that grease doesn't splatter all over your stove. Unfortunately with this wok the sides are only 2 1/2" tall (the wok that I was replacing has sides 3 5/8" high) This might sound trivial but it makes all the difference in the world when you have to clean your stove after each meal! The sides are also flared outward at a shallow angle instead of more vertical which makes it harder to flip your food with a wooden spatula. Aside from these issues its a well built wok.
Remember to try and get the wok you want the first time because, with its heavy weight, the shipping cost will make returning one an expensive proposition!
