not rated for a fire??? had to return after we went camping and on the first night the fire caused the grill to bow down.... weird.

The price is right for this grate. Great size for grill rings at campgrounds and it fits nicely on the weber outdoor fireplace. Add cheap spring clips or extra bolts to the weber aluminum ring to turn it into a cooking fireplace. Wish I could find a more heavy duty grate at this size but for the price you can't go wrong. I believe I will get years out of this grate.

updated in Jan 2012. Grate is holding strong. I see the price has dropped at amazon at this time making this an incredible deal. No need for the spring clips to put this grate on the weber outdoor fire place as it fits nicely on the aluminum ring.

I purchased this as a replacement for an oversized charcoal grill grate. This was the only replacement I could find for it size-wise, so I figured for 20 bucks I couldn't go wrong.

It didn't quite fit my grill (at no fault of the product), so I made some modifications to my grill to make it fit. I cooked on it for over a year, and it held up great. The chrome didn't flake or chip, and I wire bushed it after every use (almost daily). Even with large amounts of heavy steaks on it, it didn't flex or bow due to heat or the weight. The good chrome made it very easy to clean, and I could always get it back to its original luster with a good scrubbing. It never rusted while I had it.

I gave my grill away when I moved, and my neigbors got to enjoy it for a good while until they finally left Germany.

I would buy this again without hesitation.

It fits my large old Weber and Weber no longer makes this size. (I even called the company). Worked fine. Didn't warp etc. Arrived promptly. Basically everything they said it would be. Not what I wanted but all I could find so was glad to have it.
