I bought the same item from Costco (Business division)--same Sitram part number-for 13 bucks instead of Amazon's 22 bucks.

Decently designed and made, very light weight, with a tiny vent hole near the edge. The finish is polished, not brushed like the Profiserie pots. It fits all the 28 cm rim diameter (so-called 11 inch) Sitram Profiserie pots. For me that means the 28 cm saute pan and frypan (both excellent). This Profiserie lid has a D shaped flat strap handle, with slightly smaller attachment pads than the Catering style. Perhaps the smaller spot weld pad is a weak point, but that's common to all inexpensive commercial grade lids. The more expensive 'Catering' lids have a rod shaped handle with 90 degree sides (a bit more roomy) and bigger attachment pads. The Profiserie rim edge is not actually sharp, nor rough, but it's pretty hard edged -'utility' grade, not luxury grade. So don't rub your hand against it. Or maybe smooth it into a nice radius with a steel or a ceramic stick or some emery paper. I haven't bothered. I physically checked a bunch of them, and some were a bit harder edged than others, but none were dangerous. I only comment on this because somewhere on Amazon there is a (no doubt accurate) complaint about a sharp edge on some Sitram object that slipped through QC.

All the Sitram Profiserie stuff is made to be 'rode hard' (although not 'put away wet') by French line cooks and should last me the rest of my life if I don't use it to pound nails or stun burglers.

Multipurpose heavy duty steel pot lid.. love it! :) Looks much better than an aluminum lid I bought thinking this lid was too expensive.. the aluminum ones get stained and ugly after a few uses... this lid fits all my large frying pans and can be used on any pot that doesn't have the handles sticking upwards.. :)

I know this lid has an indent but thought the size was from end to end across the outside or widest measurement. My pot on the outside is 13.5 Should have been a good fit. Not!!! The inside portion is 131/8 and the outside measurement is a little bigger then 14 1/8. So know idea where 13.5 came from. Since I need a lid like right now and not sure where else to find a lid I must keep this. What a waste of 35.00 :-( Better to have a round somewhat fit lid then nothing. So measure and be sure of what you are buying and know this is a 14 1/4 not 13.5

It will not let me do a review on the other lid that was advertised 15. 75 Again wrong fit. My pot is indented for a 14 1/8 and the outside is 15 even. I know the lid was going to be a little big assuming again measurement was the widest portion of the lid but thought then it come close or fit with the portion that fits inside. Here is the actual measurements of the lid the indent is 15 5/8 and the outside widest measurement is 16 3/4. This is a whole inch out.

Purchased this lid for a Sitram 8qt Brasier pot. It did not work out. It would not fit the pot snuggly leaving gaps. It is poorly made, thin. For an item which should have been included with the pot to have to pay for this is a joke.

The brasier performs pretty well but it too, like this item, is somewhat overpriced. I ended up using a lid from a different stock pot I had on hand and it fits superbly and feels more substantial. It was included with the price of the pot and the pot was half the price the Sitram. Go figure.
